My wife and I stayed in this hostel for 3 night in a double bed capsule. Hostel was easy to find, provided free water, cozy/ friendly area for drinks and smoking. Easy to check-in, safe, used an app for unlocking doors. Shared bathrooms and showers that were mostly clean and spacious. Capsule consisted of two thin mattresses two pillows( had to switch pillows from another empty cap because ours were super worn out), lights, mirror, ledge to put things on, and fan( that blows air out of cap. It was hot sleeping at night, could open capsule door for more fresh air. Not very quiet, can heard people opening and closing cap doors, climbing up/ down cap ladders. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Its close to all locations, bike rentals were super cheap would highly recommend for exploring fast and easier.

Surprisingly great – excellent value for money After reading some of the negative reviews, I was a bit hesitant, but ended up being very pleasantly surprised. Copenhagen Downtown Hostel turned out to be a great experience! The location is fantastic – right in the heart of the city, within walking distance to just about everything. The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful, and check-in/check-out was smooth and easy. The room was both practical and nicely decorated, with comfortable bunk beds and a cozy atmosphere. I also really appreciated the cool interior details and overall design – clearly, a lot of thought has gone into the place, and it shows. Cleanliness was totally fine, and the bedding was fresh. I paid for early check-in, which worked perfectly, and the luggage storage system after check-out was also very convenient and well-organized. All in all, great value for money in a central and stylish setting.

As for this price and location- worth it. Quite clean and fresh bedding. The ccaplsule, was quite comfortable and "private". The worst thing was the toilets - 3 for whole floor and 1 with no flush water and one plugged later... Nice staff and bar as a reception. Pleasant atmosphere and nice people, mostly young.

Google
Great location and it’s easy to meet people and to socialise. The great Staff like Francesco, Nicolas, Melissa and Andrew made it worth the stay!! You always saw a smiling face when you came down to the common area and they were all super helpful! Could perhaps be a bit cleaner.

We have been staying at your hostel for the past 5 nights in a private room and this is genuinely the worst place we have been to. Our toilet did not flush and smelled of sewage, cat litter and everything in between. I have reached out on booking. com and received no reply. I made a comment about it to reception nothing has happened. I tried calling 3 times, all times I waited for 20 mins with no one answering. Now let’s get on to the next topic, the number you indicate we can “reach you from”. What is the point of having a line if no one will pick it up? How do you deal with loud guests if I can’t reach anyone at night time as well? Oh and coming back on the topic of cleaning, we arrived to our room with open shower gels and no soap in the soap dispenser. The bed duvet is so stained it is not white anymore, and the pillow and mattress so flat the ground would be more comfortable. On top of that, a heating that does not work with a hissing sound. I understand a hostel is not a luxury stay but I have stayed at many hostels and this was by far the worst experience. I think the only good point I can make about this place is the gin tonic for 8€.

Google
I had an amazing time staying at the Copenhagen Downtown Hostel, and I can confidently say that the best part of my experience was thanks to the incredible staff. Francesco was a standout — always smiling, always willing to help, and his positive energy made the entire atmosphere feel warm and welcoming. He’s the kind of person who makes you feel at home even when you’re miles away from it. Nikolas also deserves a special shoutout. Not only was he always on the move making sure things ran smoothly, but the music he played at the bar truly set the vibe. Whether it was early in the evening or late at night, he made the place feel alive. Melissa and Leticia were equally amazing. They were on top of everything, hardworking, and super approachable. You could tell they cared about the guests and the overall experience. It’s clear that the workers here are the backbone of this hostel — their energy, professionalism, and friendliness made all the difference. To be completely honest, the owners or management didn’t leave the same impression. I had a pretty unpleasant encounter when I mistakenly put a croissant in the toaster (I genuinely thought croissants were bread!) and got screamed at by one of the bosses. It was an unnecessarily harsh reaction and not at all reflective of the amazing vibe the staff work so hard to create. Despite that incident, the overall stay was fantastic, mostly due to the incredible team and the great people I met along the way. If you’re coming here, you’ll have a great time — just make sure to appreciate the workers, because they’re the real reason this hostel is such a great place to stay.

Google
Stayed here two nights in the capsules, they were clean and pretty well equipped, except that we couldn't get wifi connection anywhere, just outside the floor entrance in the stairwell. Great location, very central made it easy to go around the city, most of the attractions are within walking distance

Google
Dope hostel with bar and chill space downstairs, where you can also sit outside and have drinks. Room was great, had a shower in the bathroom that functioned as an all in one with just a rain shower basically on the ceiling and sink and toilet in the room. Everything you need and beds were comfortable. Can be a bit noisy at night before everyone goes to sleep but that’s to be expected at a hostel. Great location walkable to anywhere downtown within 20 mins. People were friendly including staff. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Great hostel experience if you're looking to have some fun and meet new people. The atmosphere of the place is very social, we really enjoyed our conversations with everyone we've met. The price is very fair for the really convenient location. We took advantage of the free walking tour - which I highly recommend especially if you (like us) aren't too familiar with Danish history. The bar is very lively and convivial, ended up being a great place both to start and end our nights. It's not exactly a quiet hostel, but we didn't have any major issues. Towels and locks are not provided, so make sure to bring your own or purchase at check in. Staff are very friendly and helpful. I would stay again.

Yelp
I stayed a night at their queen sized capsule, and found the experience satisfying overall. They offer a wide variety of amenities - even ranging to charging adapters and bicycle rentals per 11 and 24 hours, most aren't free but are very reasonably priced. This hostel is a 15 minute walk to Strøget, a street lined with stores and interesting things. There is also a Købmand right across the street. There's a bar connected to the hostel, happy hour at 8-9 that offers three varieties of beverage deals for only 60 DKK; 1L of beer, two servings of liquor with a mixer of your choice, or 10 of each shot they have on offer. I had a rum and coke the evening I stayed, and there's always a different event every evening, I feel the whole concept of this place is innovative and geared towards keeping patrons amused. Shower is mostly sanitary, good water pressure, and though it is a popular hostel, I didn't experience having to wait my turn to shower / use the bathroom. There was always one available. The rooms where the capsules are seems to be quite safe, people leave their belongings around in the shared space, and everyone - at least in my experience - were friendly, respectful, and open to helping each other, the diversity of this place was a pleasant experience for me. Now onto the negatives... The LIVE musician on Tuesday, 18/4/23 (they had LIVE music every Tuesday night at the bar) was subpar. Volume over anything else, it seems. I sat and listened to him for about an hour, and I don't feel like he has much awareness, more so, control over his pitch - which is a common theme among hobby musicians. He's very much "guy who plays Wonderwall at parties", and not so much "Someone who gets paid actual money to entertain a crowd" The elevator is ancient. There's a novelty to it, which I truly and genuinely appreciate. But there are no indicators as to what is happening while you wait for the elevator. The button feels like a Fisher Price toy, and after you press it, nothing happens until it arrives - when does it arrive? Did you or did you not click the button properly? Only God and the building manager knows. It also says the elevator fits 4 people - I think that only counts if those 4 people are runway models... Unless you don't care about personal space, that is. The food... Oh god the food. For the price, you can definitely find better in town. I had pizza for 80 DKK, which is the standard price for it generally. The dough was soggy, like it had been made with hands that's cursed to never stop sweating. The slice, held up, was limp and sad, it wasn't great. In the morning I ordered a veggie toast with olives, that one was better, though the portions are small. But I recommend their toasts over the pizza. Check-in at reception was easy and quick, it was pleasant for us. But if you're landing from a long flight or arriving after a long commute in the evening (after 19:00), get ready to check-in at the bar, where the reception is, among loud and intoxicated customers. This isn't necessarily a negative, but I feel like it should be addressed. For 240 DKK a night, this hostel wasn't bad at all. But I feel the tagline "Copenhagen's Most Popular Hostel" can be misleading in that it fails to capture "perhaps it's popular due to the price, and not necessarily the overall quality". However I will definitely still recommend this hostel, while making sure you're aware of the uglier parts of it. Thanks for hosting us, Copenhagen Downtown Hostel :)

Yelp
Every nice location about 5-8 minute walk from the metro station. Great bar very lively. Best part is that you don't really hear the bar if you get lucky and get a dorm up higher. AND it is separate from the bar and the dorms just a few feet away really like literally. One things that I do have to say though is there was a few bed bugs on my bed and this was the time of an outbreak from Paris with all their bedbug problems so no idea if someone brought it over or if it was already there. I told the receptionist about this and they did change the sheets once more, but I found another one again in this new sheets

Yelp
The absolute perfect location in Copenhagen but not luxurious in the slightest. You do save money in expensive Copenhagen with being more walking distance to everything, but the rooms felt dirty. We stayed in a 4-bed female dorm, and the beds weren't covered in any fitted sheet or plastic, just a top sheet on a used fabric mattress... They also allow food and meals in the dorm which got disgusting from our roommates leaving it everywhere. The bar downstairs that is advertised as for the hostel is a public bar; you check into the hostel with your luggage in the middle of this bar, and overall I wouldn't return. No bathroom in the room either, which is what I thought private bathroom means at every other hostel. Would spend more money for a better living situation next time.

Yelp
I've been backpacking and staying at many hostels in Asia, America and Europe; and Copenhagen Downtown is one of the best. It's very clean and the staff are all friendly. Location is excellent in the middle of downtown if you're up for exploring. Room are in a separate building from the Bar/ Lounge area. I like the setup. The only thing is that the door to get into the reception/ bar is very small and difficult to open since there are two doors and it is so narrow only one person can go in and out at the same time. It is totally a fire hazard but besides that, it's very annoying ( especially with any type of luggage.

Yelp
It's a cool hostel with BAR and PUB being the real main features. In the evenings (and even in the day sometimes), there is always PARTY mood and you will meet for sure cool people. ** THE GOOD ** There is a DJ in the evenings, sometimes even LIVE MUSIC. The ATMOSPHERE is unbeatable and the staff is friendly. Most of the people in the hostel are RELAXED to chat and HANG OUT . The LOCATION is another great feature, it's literally in the center of the center. The place is CLEAN, especially in the dormitories, there are many bathrooms and showers. Surprisingly, it's also a BUDGET hostel with often the lowest prices for a bed in Copenhagen. ** TO IMPROVE ** DORMITORIES I would add curtains to the beds. NO MORE COZY CORNER The cozy corner with the huge couch, was the best of this hostel. They took it away and instead there is a drink machine. EARLY CHECKOUT The checkout is at 10.00 MISLEADING ADVERTISING We got invited to a free NYE dinner from the hostel facebook page, with the promise of free food. After having spent a lot of money in beers with my friends, a long queue and waiting. I am said from the hotel manager Henri that the food is just for hostel members, which was absolutely not mentioned in any part of the event. Above this he said that even call the police would not help cause he has friendship with the police officers of that area. The staff at the check-in were even drunk in the night. This is not safe, what would they do then in case of fire? INTIMIDATORY EMAILS IF YOU LEAVE A LOW RATING I have got this email from them: ¨...we will have to take further actions as we believe that your reviews is an attempt to damage our company. We take it extremely seriously and unfortunately we will have to contract the police and our lawyers if reviews are not taken down immediately ¨ ** BOTTOM LINE ** Even though there are many things that could be improved, for sure the checkout time and the cozy corner, it's still my favorite hostel and place to hang out. The intimidatory email they sent me is for sure the main reason for the one star review.

Yelp
It's a really nice hostel. Very comfortable beds and nice accommodations for a hostel. Friendly staff also. The issues are that the bathrooms smell usually, but I'm not sure if that's a plumbing issue happening specifically while we're staying here. Still it's unpleasant. Also they don't seem to have enough showers, since they all are filled in the evenings. They also have no lounge space besides a bar which can get loud. Most other hostels I've stayed in have more spaces for different activities, but this one only has one bar. The bedding and rooms are really nice and it's a high quality hostel in a great location all things considered.

Yelp
I love this hostel. The downstairs bar area is so freaking cool, trendy, fun place to hang out, social. A bit on the "upscale" side for a hostel bar, very trendy, matches the Copenhagen vibe quite well. Rooms were really nice and I slept quite well. One of my favorite hostels I've been in, mainly for that awesome common space. Downside: doesn't seem like there were many bar crawl type events, though we were there on a weird day.

Yelp
Yusuf was very offensive and rude. Put his hands on me while instructing me to take off my shoes. Insane, nuts. You've spent a lot of money on your airfare and are invested with time to be here. Avoid this hostel at all costs. Thank you.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our stay at The Downtown Hostel. It's in easy walking distance to Central station, the beds were comfortable, nice comforters, pillows and sheets included. We stayed in a 8-mixed dorm and the bunk beds were sturdy, privacy boards on the sides and ends and the storage lockers underneath were nice and large. We needed sleep so we emailed the staff to request a quiet room and they were happy to accommodate us. So although the bar is lively, we heard none of it. Speaking of the bar, they have regular events, live music, beer pong, shared dinners etc. it's a comfortable, trendy spot with a good wifi connection. We enjoyed some chill time there as well as the live music one night which was a lot of fun. The bathrooms weren't ensuites but we had no problem with there being enough. I never had to wait and it was close to our room. (FYI: The water on the floor was a constant battle.) The staff was helpful, at times it didn't seem there were enough of them but we didn't wait too long. The happy hour special is great prices. The lockers downstairs were really convenient, easy to use and 24/7 access helped us when we needed to grab our stuff to get to the airport early. The people in our room were super respectful and we enjoyed meeting everyone and trading travel stories. I'd definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
I am writing this review as I'm eating their breakfast at 7am. Overall, I had a positive experience staying here. To provide background, I came to Copenhagen by myself en route to Hamburg and decided to stay here for three days/two nights. I arrived on Christmas Day and was surprised at how lively and friendly the staff was. One of the staff members was very accommodating, offering to move my original bed assignment to ensure that I would have a locker available within the same room. The crowd was primarily young twenty-somethings who had just finished their study abroad programs in Europe, but there was also a few families staying too. I opted to stay in a 10-person dorm, which is ideal if you're a single traveler who wants to meet new people. I met two fellow Americans, two Australians, and a Chinese national - with whom I played cards, drank, and had a Christmas dinner. :) In terms of the lodging, my bed was neatly made with clean sheets. As mentioned, there are small lockers in the room that are available for free upon request - definitely worth it if you're weary of having your valuables stolen. People will be coming in and out throughout the day and less so at night, but people were respectful for the most part (using their phones as flashlights rather than turning on the bright bedroom lights and not speaking or whispering if others were sleeping). You could hear some noise from the reception room next door, but it's completely tolerable if you're used to living in a big city. Bathrooms were a bit questionable (toilets didn't flush properly, floors were wet from the showers, hair sprawled on the floor), but the cleaning staff came every few hours to spruce it up. I really want to point out their reception room, which had a modern bohemian feel with community-style wooden tables and chairs and a large loft bed on the stage for people to lounge around. They also provide free dinner every night (potatoes, pork roast, gravy, pickled cabbage, and almond rice pudding). Breakfast costs 65 DKK, which is an all-you-can-eat assortment of dried meats, cheese, eggs, bread, and OJ/coffee. Totally worth it considering that a chicken salad sandwich from 7-Eleven in Copenhagen is around 40 DKK. I would recommend this place if: - You are looking for affordable accommodation - You want to meet new people easily - You don't mind sharing sleeping quarters and tolerating some noise at night - You want to be within walking distance to the tourist spots like Tivoli Gardens, Nyhavn, and Stroget

Yelp
Great place! Staying here for 4 nights. Just had night number one and they have great happy hour drinks. They had a Danish family dinner at 6:30 which was quite delicious! And the ambiance of the place is great. Great people who are all traveling and super friendly! The staff is lovely and quite helpful and the reception is 24/7. Right in the center of Copenhagen. You can walk to everything!

Yelp
Good music, 30 kr 6% alcoholic beers after happy hour, cheaper during happy hour. Young vibe

Yelp
Cheap place to stay in Copenhagen, which is a ridiculously expensive city. That being said, I'm not sure I'd be able to swing staying in a hostel again... but it really was fine for the situation. Pros: Excellent wifi throughout Nice bar/cafe full of young, friendly people open very late, with beanbags on the sidewalk for sipping your beer while smoking a cigarette Great food, cheaper than most other places (breakfast is forgettable, though) Luggage storage Beds are comfortable Good location - close to downtown, plenty of cafes & shopping, a lot of public transport nearby Friendly, laid back, helpful staff Free Earplugs! (because of the noise) Cons: Shared bathrooms were disgustingly dirty Noise level.. nonstop noise until 3am most nights and once again at 7/8am most mornings. I mean, I live in Cairo... the city that never sleeps... and this was too noisy for me. Breakfast wasn't included- at 65 kroner it didn't seem worthwhile. Runny scrambled eggs, bread, lunch meat, cheese, yogurt, fruit, granola, coffee & juice. The hostel seemed to be overtaken primarily by male teenage boys (despite reviews that said the contrary, but it could have just been timing!) Overall, it was fine, and best of all, it was cheap.

Yelp
Got bitten by bedbugs here. When I reached out to the hostel they promised a full and quick refund. It's been over a month and after 3 time's following up, they just said now that coronavirus means they will not provide a refund. It's a tough time for everyone now but using a global health crisis that's killing people to get out of a refund you agreed to and owe is pathetic. Rooms are tiny tiny and frigid when you get in Enjoy your stay (or don't stay there) and save yourself the bedbugs bites !

Yelp
Wonderful community vibe, frequent live music at the bar, great WiFi and very clean bathrooms. If I were you I wouldn't pay for the buffet breakfast because it's pretty easy to get good, relatively cheap pastries or yogurt for breakfast elsewhere. Also Definitely try to get a bed on a higher floor; in the ones right above the bar, you can feel the base in your chest late into the night. Overall, a lovely hostel with helpful staff, and a great place to make friends.

Yelp
Ok im updating and giving two stars now because they finally refunded us the night we didn't stay in. But it was not easy, we had to really push for it and they have been very rude throughout, but at least they did what they had to do. Worst hostel ever- if you are looking to sleep just don't go there. Music is at an insanely loud volume all night - until 7am and nobody seems to care and the smell of cigarettes and alcohol comes inside the rooms. If you are planning to party all night long then this is the place for you. Disgraceful customer service, we had to check out because we couldn't get any sleep on the first night even though we had one more night paid in full and they wouldn't give us a refund and didn't even say sorry for the inconvenience. Extremely rude.

Yelp
100% smile gaurantee? Yes please! Thankfully This place lives up to their promises and on both occasions I left smiling and happy with my stay. On both stays there was a definite party down stairs vibe happening but 100% business of the sleeping variety happening upstairs. I was super impressed with how quiet the rooms are despite the concerts and party people. The rooms are clean and come with basic linen. To help keep costs down your asked to remove linen and place in a communal laundry basket on departure. The venue has an affordable bar, a kitchen and an amazing reading mass cuddle puddle couch! Winning! Not to mention the usual free wifi, one of the best hostel laundries I've ever used and a free communal dinner every night. Which I missed all nights! Toilets and showers are regularly checked for cleanliness. The staff are a wealth of local knowledge and helpfulness.
google avatar

Yelp
Worst hostel in my life. First you are going to heard people 24hrs, you will also heard people above you and there is a bell ringing every hour. Noises are terrible. The room is super small, bed uncomfortable and bathroom disgusting.
google avatar

Lauren R.

Yelp
The overall environment of this hostel was very cool. The bar was nice and had a good atmosphere. There are two main reasons that I have not given this hostel 5 stars. The first is the fact that my room was on the 5th floor and the entire floor smelled like feces at all time. This is not reflective of the entire hostel, as I had friends staying on the 2nd floor that didn't have a problem with smell. Our floor's smell was so pungent that I would actually go to the lobby to use the bathroom to avoid having to go near those toilets. The other problem I experienced with this hostel was the methodology in which they assign roommates. I understand that the hostel room we chose was mixed, but it just does not make sense to me why management would assign men over the age of 40 into a room with 3 very young adults (20). This was not one night, but every single night. Overall, I would recommend this hostel if you don't mind getting creepy men as roommates that snore super loud and if you don't have to use the bathroom a lot.

Yelp
Great check in service, we cancelled and rebooked multiple times due to our own scheduling issues and they made great work to help us!
google avatar

Ben L.

Yelp
Yelp doesn't let you put zero stars. This is a review on them as a company and their customer service. I have never been to the hostel. I booked a room for 2 nights in early March. When I booked, the cancelation policy stated that if you cancel more than 48 hours ahead of time, you will get a full refund. Then COVID-19 pretty much canceled all international travel. I let them know on March 12th that I needed to cancel my reservation due to the global pandemic. My reservation was for March 22-24, so i gave 240 hours notice, well more than 48. They informed me that they would not give me a refund. They keep saying that they are not able to refund any prepaid bookings and they will revisit the situation after the shutdown. Lately they have just stopped replying to any emails. I tried calling them as well and waited on hold for over 10 minutes without talking to anyone before I just hung up. I understand this crisis is causing a lot of strain on many businesses, especially those in the tourist industry, but that does not justify essentially stealing money from people that never set foot in your hotel. I don't know when or if I am ever going to be able to take a trip to Copenhagen, but if I do, I'm certainly not going to be using this hotel. But they most likely will not be in business for long anyway.

Yelp
A typical hopping hostel in terms of comfort and facilities. I arrived super late with some difficulties because I didn't want to withdraw any kroner and the stupid metro machines only take chip and pin credit cards. It was okay that I showed up at 10:00pm though! I stepped in to find a pretty hopping lounge, with many young people chilling out at tables and drinking, or in the back lounge on their computers (there's free wifi in the lounge). I threw my stuff in my room, got dressed, and was ready to party. But first, I hung out with a couple of other fellow travelers at the bar and had a couple of drinks. Most people were very friendly. I made friends with some Englishmen, and then ask for some recommendations on bars and EDM clubs downtown from the hostel employee. She pointed me towards Culture Box and off I went! Warning: Using a credit card to pay your hostel bill will incur an extra 3% fee or so. It might have been 5% I came back after Culture Box expecting to get some sleep, but instead there were 3 Moroccans hanging out with a pretty cute Estonian girl, err.. not drinking. Seeing that I am young, adventurous, a drunkard, and maybe crazy, instead of going to sleep I stayed up with them.. err.. not drinking. Right. Bed was fine. When you check out, you bring your linens down and dump em in a giant bin. Pros: Clean, hopping social scene, free wifi in the lounge. Each room has security key cards, although there are no lockers. Not too far from the metro stop, only like 6-7 blocks or so. Minus: Only two bathrooms per floor. During the rush hours it can take a while to get one to shower. They turn off wifi upstairs to encourage socializing, but when it's late and the lounge is closed and you need to do work... well, you take your laptop and sit in the stairway by the lounge. Bathrooms are.. not super clean but not super dirty either. Slippers recommended. Also, it's against their liquor license to allow outside alcohol to be consumed. I had a bottle of champagne that really wanted to be imbibed but nope! (it may or may not have happened anyways, along with other fruit pop drinks with my roommates. I deny everything)

Yelp
Great value for the money. The rooms were clean and cozy. There were storage bins for your things and a few hooks for hanging coats. Bike rentals right at the counter! They have a little food/drink snack bar which is nice. WiFi was excellent. Late check out of 1pm will cost you 100Kr. I slept comfortably and there we no disruptive partying. The staff was somewhat knowledgable. I felt they should have known more specifics about their services but over all friendly. The guests range from young Euro/American travelers, to families, to older travelers. A good mix. You won't feel out of place. I would definitely stay there again.

Yelp
Price is good, bathrooms are very dirty, floors are dirty, beds and linens are clean and comfortable, and I was in a room that was overbooked, it seemed, twice. Shared dinner is not free, it is ~40kr. Staff is welcoming. If you're not in to partying, I would recommend choosing another hostel.
google avatar

Darlene H.

Yelp
Almost too big to foster a welcoming social atmosphere, but very nice staff and cool decor.
google avatar

Kelly W.

Yelp
The reception is just past the bar which makes it incredibly annoying to check-in in the evening because you have to pass by everyone with all of your bags. Super nice staff, cute bartender (heyy Vito), small but equipped kitchen, and lots of hangout space that is almost always busy. My friend and I stayed in an 8 person mixed room that was quite nice. Good beds with an outlet at each one. Large lockers under each bed. Definitely not enough bathrooms for each floor. Small elevator and wifi throughout the hostel.

Yelp
It's amazing!! Bar serves alcohol from 11 AM - 5 AM. Staff is friendly. The rooms are nice and clean and the bathrooms, although in the hallway, are individual. They have an option to buy a breakfast buffet, and although I have not experienced it yet, apparently they have free dinner. People who are staying here are young and fun to talk to. Free Wi-Fi. It's a fun place to hang out!

Yelp
Best hostel I ever lived in. Good vibe, nice bar, friendly staff and good rooms. Close to centrum, tivoli and central station. Definitely worth the low price. Booked through their website so got free dinners! Small rooms but big storage room under the beds. Will definitely come back!

Yelp
For me this place was a very very shocking experience. First of all the boy who checked me in, i guess he was hungarian or bulgarian, seemed high on cocaine, his sentences didn't make any sense 90% of the time and his pupils were dialeted. I had to talk extremely slow with him as he didn't understand what I was saying just after multiple repetitions. Secondly the night after, when i woke up, came down for breakfast the same guy was yelling with the other staff members the situation seemed so tense that I didn't even have breakfast just left the hostel. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!

Yelp
One of the best run hostels in Europe It sucks having to share a room with a bunch of gross smelly guys But a good deal otherwise All the extra amenities make this place great :)

Yelp
If you want to actually get some sleep, this is not the place for you. Music at the hostel's bar is SO loud it is impossible to sleep even with ear plugs on. What a regret to have chosen here.

Yelp
Perfect location and good value for Copenhagen. The city is super expensive and if you are a budget traveler or just don't want to spend a ton then this is the place to stay. Staff is helpful, nice and always available. There is a cheap, for the city, bar in the hostel and there are always people to talk to in the common room. One of the best parts of my stay here was the free dinners I got. Every night there are 3/4 tables where the hostel serves a free dinner, first come first serve. It's nothing amazing, but good enough and it's free so you can't complain. There is free wifi, washer/dryer available, ipod rentals, bike rentals and a free tour. There isn't too much to complain about here. The only reason I put it one star down is because it was a little expensive for a dorm room shared with 7 other people, but that might just be the city.

Yelp
This hostel meets most basic needs for short trips to Copenhagen. The wifi is consistent and strong and there are free walking tours. Free dinner is provided on a first-come-first-serve basis. The hostel is a bit large, leaving little sense of community. The noise level is quite high, as sound from the bar downstairs is audible even on the top floor. The beds are quite uncomfortable. However, the location and price point make this a great option for shorter stays. It is easy to see all the sights in the city center in quick order. The staff is friendly and available 24/7.

Yelp
Nice hostel with friendly staff and perfect location in the center of Copenhagen. My boyfriend and me stayed in a double room. Clean for being a hostel and the beds were made when we arrived. The bar has nice prices and great atmosphere. Within walking distance from the central station.

Yelp
Worst Place to Stay in the World I stayed here in early September 2016. We reserved a private room. Normally I enjoy staying in hostels. This was not the case. This place was a horrible nightmare. Here are the reasons. 1. They steal money from you. I was double charged for the room because they messed up their credit machine. They told me my card was not charged when I asked but they were wrong. This created a giant mess trying to sort it out which involved over 40 emails back and forth and multiple international phone calls with very little effort on their part trying to help. I was forced to file for fraud with my bank because they did not refund the full amount back. I emailed them again to recoup the remaining amount with no response. Worst customer experience ever. It was literally like I was being robbed. 2. The room smelled of sewage the whole time we were there. It made it difficult to sleep the smell was so bad. 3. One the workers barged into our locked room at 5 am on the first night. I woke up but he/she quickly exited before I could figure out what he/she was doing. There was no communication or note. Again, it felt like I was being robbed. Please for your financial and personal safety, do not stay here. Find another hostel, hotel, or try airbnb.

Yelp
I had just flown on hellish flight from Dusseldorf, Germany, and was ecstatic about visiting Copenhagen. My decision to visit the city was completely random, but seemed like the most logical step forward in my journey. Out of all the reviews I read on the Dan Hostel chain, I found this location to be the most suitable to my needs: 1) Social scene 2) Free Wi-Fi 3) Price 4) Laundry 5) Security At the time, I wasn't big on booking reservations in advance, and was fortunate to find a bed in an 8 bedroom dorm. The dorms are standard - moderately comfortable beds with a matching set of lockers. Security didn't seem much of an issue. That weekend was particularly fun though. The Norway and Denmark futbol leagues were playing each other that weekend, so the city was mad with activity. The Dan has pool tables, a kitchen AND cafe, plus it was walking distance from just about anything anyone could need including the subway. I was particularly interested in attempting a visit to Russia on this trip, and the staff were extremely helpful in sorting out my way to the American and Russian embassies. (Coincidently, they are next door to each other and are both equally rude to civilians.) There was a very diverse crowd of people staying at the Dan that weekend, and I remember making sooooo many great friends and connections to other countries along my travel route. I'm still in contact with a few of them surprisingly! Yes, if I'm ever back in Copenhagen, I'll come right back to the Dan Downtown. And I really hope that chance does return because that city was awesome!

Yelp
Completely Inflexible. We had to cancel our reservation for a one night stay within 24 hours of booking due to an emergency surgery and they charged us full price for a room we never used. The management's lack of compassion added needless headache and expense to an already painful vacation.

Yelp
The hostel has a lot to offer - sociable atmosphere , good public space with regular social events and basic but clean accommodation. Yes, it gets pretty noisy at times and the surrounding area is lively at weekends too but on the whole a good place , especially for travelers. The free, communal meal each evening provides an opportunity to eat and meet new people and the idea gives the hostel its 4th star. It might have got a 5th if the meals weren't totally geared to meat eaters' tastes. I am sure there may be good reasons for this - convenience wise - but what about us vegetarians? There are quite a lot of us in the world and it seems a shame not to feed us too!

Yelp
I highly recommend this place for any traveler!! This hostel was amazing it has everything you need, plus they have a bar next door that has VERY cheap drinks!! It's a community feeling the best part about the hostel? The STAFF hands down Eduardo was the best host I have ever had in a hostel. He told us all the spots to go around Denmark and he took care of us as if we were best friends for years. He was why this place gets 5 stars in my book! I highly highly recommend this amazing hostel, you will have a blast!!! Enjoy!!

Yelp
This was an awesome hostel! I stayed here for two weeks and I don't regret it. The employees where incredibly nice and inviting. On Valentine's Day everyone got free shots on top of the free dinner that they give every night. I would recommend this to anyone traveling through Denmark.
