I had an overall good experience at the Copenhagen Strand hotel. The location is simply phenomenal. The staff at check in/ check out were simply phenomenal. They were the kindest that I met during my entire 3 week/6 country trip! I had an issue in my room in which the toilet was not flushing properly. I did need to ask for help with this twice. Eventually it seemed to work itself out. However, the staff comped my two mini bar charges to make up for this inconvenience. It would have been better if this hadn’t happened, but the staff handled it extremely professionally. The service here is impeccable. One area to note: There is no air conditioning in the hotel. Thankfully it was not very hot during my stay, so I was ok, but if it were hotter, I could imagine this being a little uncomfortable. There was a small fan in my room though, which kept me cool.

Great location and a very comfortable and practical hotel. We asked for a quiet room and it was the quietest room I have experienced in a hotel. |The breakfast was brilliant and staff very accommodating to any requests. |Left our bag after we had checked out, to the end of the day, which was great.|Room only cleaned if you request it, which we did and this was fine.

Great location near Nyhavn right by the water but surprisingly quiet. Very friendly helpful staff. Excellent breakfast buffet, nice lounge area with coffee and drinks available 24/7 (for a fee). Room was very small, but comfortable, clean, and fresh. Difficult to find a place to put an open suitcase, and no closet. But nice hotel, and good price for where it is.

My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights as we explored Copenhagen. Great location as the train station and center city with all of the shops and restaurants was only about a 5-7 minute walk. Staff was lovely and helped answer our questions for recommendations and navigating the area. There’s a water dispenser in the lobby so be sure to take your water bottle to fill up as Denmark does charge for tap water at most if not all restaurants. The room was small but clean and had basic toiletries such as body wash/shampoo, conditioner, bar soap, hair dryer. There was also a fan in our room which came in handy because it was warm for me to sleep, even with shorts and a t-shirt. (The bed cover is a duvet and not a sheet, so it’s on the heavier/warmer side.) We enjoyed the breakfast buffet on our last morning and it had a variety of food, hot and cold, to enjoy. I would absolutely stay there again if I were to ever return to Denmark!

10/10 Gorgeous hotel. The staff are so friendly and kind. 100% getting the breakfast, it filled me for the whole day. They do have gluten-free and lactose-free options. A fridge just for us who suffer from those intolerances. The room wasn't too small, just enough space. The rooms do have en-suites, and they are very nice bathrooms. I was sure I booked a sea-view balcony room, maybe not as I could not double-check check but even so, the view was okay. The room we had included a Dyson air fan, which was very needed as it was so warm in Copenhagen during our stay. There is a mini bar but it is not a fridge. The bed was comfy, with a plug right beside. It is an EU plug for those wondering if you need an adapter. The TV in the room was smart and we could connect our phone to it for screen mirroring which was handy. The hotel is located in a very good spot, not a far walk from the centre, local to most amenities and shops. Across the road is a wonderful view. Also to add: Pets are welcome. We booked way in advance for this hotel with breakfast included, which I recommend doing as the hotel can be pricey closer to your dates of staying.

We recently spent 3 days at the Strand. The rooms were very clean and cozy. The breakfast was SO good! The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was perfect. You can walk to numerous shops and restaurants. I would highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Copenhagen.

This sweet hotel is right next to Inderhaven and Nyhavn, but the views on my side of the building were of a scaffolded building. I wonder if there are any rooms with views? Also, it wasn't clear to me on the website that twin beds are not really available in the standard rooms.

I can't understand why this is billed as anything more than a 2 star hotel. The amenities are pretty pathetic -bed is comfortable enough, but the two blankets are both super narrow. Pillows aren't great, and there aren't any extras in the closet. Actually, there's no closet at all. Just a piece to hang some clothes, and rack for one suitcase. There is a safe, but it's so narrow that it can just fit a few papers. There's a "minibar", but it's the narrowest minibar I've ever seen, so it can't really be used as a fridge for anything else. Space is obviously at a premium in the small rooms. ||The bathtub is narrow, but the worst thing about it is that it doesn't really close. There's only a half door that swings open, and even when it's "closed," water still comes through and forms a large lake on the bathroom floor. No toiletries except for dispensers of liquid soap and shampoo. They call it "green." I call it cheap. ||The breakfast actually looks decent, but I can't say it's worth the 185 Kr price. ||The main good things I can say are that the location is really good, the place is clean enough, water pressure is good, and internet is easy to get onto and fast. But the only thing high class here is the price. I get it that Copenhagen is an expensive city, but even compared to great cities like Paris and London, the prices are just out of control for what you get.

Yelp
Nice hotel, great location near the main walking areas. Very inviting, large lobby and excellent breakfast. Our room was small but very clean. Would stay again.

Yelp
Well you know my simple criteria: clean, functional and comfortable. Let me start off by saying this is a VERY traditional European room. It appears to be clean and the linens are fresh. That said, the shower leaks onto the tile floor of the bathroom and the sink drain doesn't. The good things are the water is hot and the bathroom floor is toasty warm? But still low marks for functional and comfortable, well its a very standardized room. Not a lot of unused space in it and you have to close the bathroom door to get to the room door. We'll see. Bed is accommodating to be sure and there are two small pillows. I want to say that what the physical room lacks, the staff makes up for. They are very friendly and I feel the desk people go out of their way to be engaging and caring. There's a nice area at reception that doubles as a bar and lounge. The location is awesome. We are walking distance from lots of Copenhagen attractions and points of interest. Its a solid stars thanks to location and the staff.

Yelp
We stayed here for three nights in April 2019. With two adults and two children in our family, we were given two rooms. The kids had two twin beds, and we adults had one queen bed. We were all quite satisfied with our stay! Highs: Breakfast: Far more varied and extensive than most, included in room price Room: Clean! Big enough. Good lighting. Excellent water pressure Staff: Friendly and helpful Lobby: Tables and chairs with nice and cozy (low) lighting in the evening Bathroom: Heated floor! Lows: Shower water leaks onto floor (via space between glass shower door and tiled wall) Climate control: Only heat, no cooling No shelves/dresser in room For me, the few problem areas don't lower my review from a five-star rating. If I were here in the summer, maybe the lack of air conditioning would be a problem but it certainly wasn't important when we visited in April. I've also seen people complaining about the size of the room. It's definitely very European and not large. But who is going to Copenhagen and then needing a large hotel room to hang out in all the time? The staff members at this hotel are great. The breakfast is awesome. And the rooms are very good. Highly satisfied!

Yelp
I have traveled extensively in North America and Europe for both business and pleasure for almost 50 years. As such having stayed in numerous properties I no what's good and what's not so good. Having the Reception Desk and a 24/7 Bar as one unit is sheer genius!!!! Location is great and the breakfast buffet is not only very well done both in offerings and service, by a very professional staff. First place that I did not get the "bums rush" at closing. I noticed another review stating the rooms are small.... welcome to Europe!!!

Yelp
We made reservations there on March 1. We were going to take a cruise that started in Copenhagen, so we would spend 3 days there before the cruise. We did buy non-refund. This was a trip of a lifetime to me. However, then the COVID hit. Planes cannot fly there, ships cannot go there. So when the lock down came, we notified THIS HOTEL we can't get there, it isn't safe, etc. Was told by THIS HOTEL that they are still open, it isn't their fault we can't get there, and there will be no refund. We explained we were going to go there, but COVID hit. Again THIS HOTEL said absolutely NO REFUND. Did not consider anything that is going on IN THE WORLD!! To me Covid is a pretty good reason not to go. And with all transportation not going there, how are we supposed to get there, SWIM??

Yelp
This hotel is 2 stars at most. Tiny rooms and badly kept with no AC. Stay away terrible value for your money. See the pictures I took of the bathtub dirt, mold and tap coming off the wall as well as grime on the grout.

Yelp
The hotel has a medium standing. If you take the regular rooms, they are very tiny. The hotel will ask you 200DKK more per night to upgrade to a much bigger room with a river view. In our room, the shower was leaking that made the bathroom flooded. The breakfast is ok without being tremendous. They ask for 19€ more per person if it's not included in the room rate. If it wasn't included, I would recommend you to go in other places around that propose brunches for 12-13€ and more various food. So, it just misses couple of letters to the name of this hotel to do : Standard

Yelp
A nice 3-star hotel laying on the waterfront. It lays just around the corner of Nyhavn and walking distance to city center. Breakfast is good, with a lot of choice. You will find welcoming and smiling faces in a safe environment. Rooms have a small minibar, a desk and free WIFI, which functions pretty well. So nothing to complain about for a 3-star hotel.

Yelp
Having been to over 40 countries, I have experienced many breakfasts around the world. If someone asked me to name the best European breakfast I have ever enjoyed, I would say the Copenhagen Strand Hotel breakfast. They have a bounty of freshly baked breads and pastries, fruits and vegetables, meats and cheeses, yogurt, cereals, juices, marmalades, and so much more. I especially loved the perfectly ripened tomatoes, chocolate croissants, and the cheese salad with lettuce, grapes, cheese cubes, and nuts. Overall, it was a wonderful experience each morning of my stay at this gorgeous hotel. The maritime-themed Copenhagen Strand is situated in the heart of the city, right around the corner from the Strøget, Nyhavn, and many other popular sights. The waterfront location is the ideal setting. Everything was wonderful, but the number one reason I would stay here is because of the outstanding European breakfast!

Yelp
Checked in and check out next day! Buyer beware! Not even 2 star hotel if there is such a thing, but it was sold as a 4 star hotel on Expedia. March 29th, 2016 Pros: Two of the men at the check-in counter tried to be helpful at check in. However, we felt we were completely deceived when we saw the room. Cons: Change the rating to alert travellers! Charging rates for a 2 Star, is misleading & deceitful. We had to check out the next day. Location: Location is central, easy walk to everywhere like any other city center nothing special. Arrived at the hotel. Down few stairs to a very small lobby, as in B&B, visitor pamphlets, beverages, and packaged snacks for sale behind the front desk counter (also the hotel's only bar, has wine, beer, and sodas). 5 story building, not sure how many rooms. The photos & images and the rating on Expedia up sales the space. It looks nothing like the presentation online. There is no room service, were told the hotel did not have kitchen, but serves breakfast only for a fee, if we wanted (curios! what kind of breakfast?). This is done in a seating launch opposite the front desk area but there is no restaurant. No SPA, pool. We arrived in the evening, therefore; did not have a chance to unpack and make it in time to get to a restaurant outside. Per what we were informed, most restaurants near by closed by 9:30-10PM . There is no room service. The room for us as a couple was very small, the bathroom was a toilet, stand shower that was too small to bend to wash ones feet with out hitting ones head against the wall. I am 120 pounds and my husband 190 lbs. There was a basic mini shampoo/conditioner with two glasses near the vanity mirror in the bathroom, one glass with a chip/crack. The faucets on the sick and shower had rust and mold and appeared uncleaned. NO counter space by the vanity mirror for toiletries. The room had TV with only local channels and language with remote that was not operable. The window faced the courtyard of another building with windows that have view into our room therefore, had to keep the curtain closed at all times. There was an awful pounding loud and continuous sound through out the night until morning, that seemed to come from the courtyard of the next door building. The front desk staff (more like counter help) tried to help but could not. We were not able to stay confined in such a small room:-( We just did not want others to have such a bad experience like we did, so there you have it. There are plenty hotels for any price high or low with better accommodations. We passed by a Youth Hostel on our walk and found it better that the Strand. The Hostel had trained staff to handle visitors, the building was well maintained and staffed.

Yelp
My expectations weren't too high based on average reviews on yelp and trip advisor but I was actually really impressed. The hotel was actually perfect for us. The room was admittedly small but not tiny and we were very comfortable there. The bathroom had a good size. The free wifi worked well. Everything was very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was very good as well and felt safe and quiet. The street the hotel is on is actually a little off the very touristy Nyhavn area (almost around the corner), therefore quiet yet centrally located. We were able to walk to all major attractions, several were very close and others a pleasant walk from the hotel. The hotel itself does not have parking spots but we found a spot right in front of the hotel which was metered parking and not cheap but much better than the nearby parking structure. I took a look at the breakfast buffet and thought it looked very good. However, we decided against the breakfast buffet because we thought the extra cost of ~25 Dollars a person was pricey. However, we then had a very simple breakfast consisting of 2 pastries and one coffee per person at a bakery and that ended up costing 20 Dollar per person. So in the end I thought we should have done the buffet instead, unlimited breakfast for 25 Dollars would have been better than limited for 20 Dollars. Copenhagen is just that expensive (and the exchange rate was not in my favor on this trip). The hotel was not cheap but actually one of the less expensive ones at the time of booking.

Yelp
I stayed for three nights and would absolutely return again. The staff was very lovely, assisted with any and all problems efficiently and in a friendly manner, could recommend good restaurants and so on. The room was small as all hotels in Europe are. There was a tv which functioned well (although had no English channels). The wifi was strong enough to load videos. Our view was of an alleyway with another building (with many windows) right across. There was no AC (expected) but the staff could offer a plug in fan and the Windows offer a strong breeze. Breakfast was excellent. I would chalk up any bad reviews for this hotel to simply being accustomed to extravagant American hotels.
