Valentine's Day Travel Experiences for a Romantic Getaway

"At CopenHot I loved the notion of cozying up in an outdoor hot tub overlooking Copenhagen Harbor in winter and then sealing the experience in the panoramic sauna." - Travel + Leisure Staff

15 Best Things to Do in Copenhagen

"CopenHot is an al fresco spa ... sort of. There aren’t any massages here, but what it lacks in pampering it makes up for in coolness. Perched right on the water in the industrial-hip Nordhavn neighborhood, a cluster of wooden hot tubs and saunas overlook the water. Tubs can be rented for a group, or you can come to one of their open days. To warm up and chill out, you have several options. Barrel-wood hot tubs are filled with clean, mineral-rich saltwater and heated from below by a fire (note the dude chopping firewood on-site). The coveted sailing spas fit five people in a floating hot tub that navigate the canals. And panoramic saunas overlook the harbor." - Mary Holland, Jenna Scatena

A very nice experience, the hot tub has a 40 degrees water, and for the private tube you get access to sauna and cold water tub too. The fragrance of fire wood and background music are magical. There is a bar where you can order drinks. Towels are offered at the end or while using the sauna. The shower facilities are outside and very few (if you book the last spot in the evening consider some waiting time to shower out). The staff members are super friendly and check out if you need anything or can help with some memorable pictures. It is good to know that the location is somehow in the old industrial area, 10-15 mins walkable from A2 bus station. We've seen taxis picking up other customers too. We came by bycicle and it would be nice in the future to have some dedicated facilities for bike parking.

Adorable hot tub, sauna, cold plunge experience in "Little Siberia" -- a more industrial area further from town. Amazing in any weather, which is a bonus for Denmark. You sign up on time for a time slot. Be early or on time - times are strict for ending, so you just lose time if you're late. Show up, change into a swim suit, shower (it's very "fresh" lol), and then go enjoy! Sign up for the Hot Days for the shared, public experience that's most affordable and fun! You can also request and pay for private hot tubs and/or saunas. The cold plunges (3) are shared with varying temperatures. You can ask (if everyone in the tubs agree) to raise/lower the temperature pretty quickly. There are drinks available on site - beers, sparkling teas, kombucha, etc. Towels are included in the price, but you get it at the end. A perfect way to relax into any Copenhagen afternoon/evening, especially with the string lights!

We visited the spa as a group of 5, and overall, we were satisfied. One of the highlights was the tub – a large barrel with hot water, which provided great relaxation. However, it's worth noting that there are only 3 showers in the complex, which sometimes wasn’t enough, and we had to wait in line. Also, the water in the tub was a bit dirty, and it would have been better if it were changed more frequently to improve comfort. Additionally, in one of the saunas, the door had a gap, causing the sauna to cool down quickly, which affected the experience. On the positive side, we were provided with towels at the end, which was a nice touch. The urban view from the spa area was really impressive — even though it was raining, we still enjoyed the atmosphere. You can also buy drinks, which adds to the convenience and comfort. The staff was very friendly and helpful, leaving a great impression. Overall, the spa is worth a visit, especially if you enjoy a mix of relaxation with an urban view and good service.

A great experience! Facilities are clean and well-maintained. The best time to visit is during sundown, the atmosphere with the fairy lights and fire pits is lovely. This was the best thing I did on my Copenhagen trip.

We made a last minute reservation after flying in from the US, and having our first jet-lagged day fairly open. It was a great way to spend the early afternoon! The water in the tubs was super hot (we even had her turn it up), the cold plunges were great, and the sauna was wonderful, especially with the eucalyptus water thrown on the rocks. Well worth the money.

Loved our sauna and hot tub experience! Facilities and experience were exactly as described, and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Easy location to get to, really pleasant experience sitting outside with the campfires and different pools, and everything was very clean and well-maintained. Will definitely return next time I’m in Copenhagen!
