Tried the Lomo Saltado and Pollo Saltado both were tasty and good quality ingredients. Prepared freshly and authentically. Decent portions. I also got an order of Alfajores which unfortunately were not good. Have had them at a few other places and they did not compare. But go for the savory Peruvian food. Delicious.

I was just on Google looking for places that sell Tres Leches cakes for my friends birthday. I browsed a few different places before calling Coppelias. The woman that answered gave me several different options over the phone. The place is clean and looks very professional and when I arrived the woman knew it was me she had talked to and helped me. She was patient while I looked at the options and offered to add writing and fruit to the mango tres leches I decided on. The birthday girl LOVED the cake. She said it was the best she's had. Everybody else at the event also enjoyed the cake

I came here for the first time to get the famous tres leches cake for my husbands birthday. I ordered the cake 2 weeks in advanced just to pick up a blank cake the day of. I was so disappointed. I went to pick up the cake and it was completely blank although I asked for it to say “happy birthday Salman” and there were no berries although I asked for it. There was no baker available at this time (11 am) and the cashier admitted she was not good at writing in icing as she recently started. It was honestly upsetting as I ended up adding a topper and the chef tried to do my husbands name. The employee who was kind added the berries but overall the cake did not appear as nice as I hoped. Cake itself was very good but having this bad first experience on my husbands birthday is enough to make me not come back.

Restaurant was highly recommend by a relative, and boy was he spot on. We ordered from the newly added Peruvian dishes, which you can find at other places, but not like this. The food was ridiculously flavorful, and every bite was just as good as the last. The portion sizes are good and they even serve their own in-house brewed Chicha Morada (definitely a must try). Food's great, customer service was spot on..... I'm coming back for sure.

This Cuban bakery, everything made from scratch by the family that has always run it, plus the garlic rotisserie chicken has been a mainstay for decades and decades. The best (!) tres (three) AND Cuatro (Four) Leches cake around (milk soaked). A connection to community and heartfelt food -- AND a free parking lot out back.

Edited with context, I checked what logged in my calories counter and my photos. Really disappointed with how small the cake is now. I took pictures in the exact same place so I'm 100% sure the cake is 30-50% the same size at 25% more cost. It was good while it lasted. It literally tastes different when the ratio of cake to frosting is changed so much. I'm just saying it's not as good as it used to be. I would have been happy to pay $7- for a cake that was the right proportions of /cake/ to frosting.

Today I sent my brother to buy a cake...and look what I have...very poor quality...I don't like to give bad reviews but this is unacceptable...someone could get sick...I bought a small one and another big... the small one is the one in the photo... now I'm worried..... will the big one be like that too?

Ordered our wedding cake for 30 people. We ordered a vanilla mocha cake and everyone enjoyed their cake. They delivered our cake on time and will definitely be ordering more cakes from Coppelias. Ordering the cake was quick and easy, no up-selling.

The Tres Leches cake was amazing! The cake got so many positive compliments at a party I hosted. I called to order ahead and it was ready on time. Also, kind service :) Will be coming back for more of that cake sometime!

This is a review for a cake order! I was able to order and pick up an 8" cinco leches cake (tres leches + dulce de leche + coconut milk) on the same day, which was very convenient. Their hours seem to be inconsistent on their website, but it looks like Google is accurate, and they close at 4 pm. Anyway the cake was great! Everything tasted super fresh, and it was beautifully spongy without being too soggy. I was actually surprised to see it was a 3 layer cake too, and imo the 8" can definitely feed way more than 8 people. The cake I think was a little under $50, but you also get a 10% discount if you mention Yelp / their website too, so don't forget! I didn't realize they also operated as a normal Peruvian restaurant, so I'll definitely come back again and try their other food! Happy to have this local gem in the neighborhood.

I get my son this cake every year for his birthday and never disappoints. An absolute family favorite and will never get a cake anywhere else! They do same day week orders which is amazing for last minute orders. The variety of flavors is great, customer service is great, everything is great overall. Highly recommend coming here especially if you love tres leches!

Hidden gem! I came here to order a tres leches birthday cake and was happy to find they even did FLAVORS (got the mango - which was delicious). Also discovered they are also a casual Peruvian eatery, so I came back and was delighted with the delicious lomo saltado and empanadas. Great service - will definitely add to my go-tos!

We ordered our wedding cake from here. The top is pineapple fruit and the bottom is mango mousse. Alexis did a fantastic job in making our dream cake a reality! The cafe itself is pretty cute, and the people working there are very sweet. Will definitely come back here for cakes in the future!!

Visited this nice, family-run bakery based upon recs for Tres Leches cake on the Facebook "L.A. Foodies" group. My old standby, Porto's, has now been supplanted by Coppelias (it's also way too far away)! Alexis and her husband, Hector, are the sweetest people. And, the Tres Leches! The Tres Leches!! I served it at my birthday dinner and the guests RAVED about it! Next visit, I'll bring my family in to try the Peruvian and Cuban dishes. I can't believe that I've lived on the Westside for so long and have never stopped-in before. Here's to making-up for lost-time. Don't miss-out on Coppelias and Bon Appétit!

Coppelia's is our go-to cake place for work celebrations. Every cake that we've had has been amazing - so moist and not too sweet! Perfect balance of the cake, filling and frosting. They are known for their tres leches cake and it never disappoints. We also tried their mango tres leches, chocolate tres leches and red velvet cake. All have been excellent! Service was good, they were helpful and friendly. Also like their beef empanadas, called in advance, made a tray order for 20 pieces and they had it ready in about 20 minutes. Would like to try dining in next time to experience the ambiance. They have plates and entrees I'd like to try as well.

I needed a cake made quickly and came across this bakery. They have stellar reviews for their tres leches cake, and they are all true! I ordered a tres leches cake for the following day, and it was exactly how I wanted it to be - very moist with just the right amount of sweetness. They also have delicious empanadas; I tried both the chicken and beef.

Been coming here for years getting their mango tree leches for my friends and fam to try. Today we were picking up a cake and decided to eat breakfast here. Everything was great and service was even better. Don't sleep on the empanadas they were amazing. Would recommend this spot to everyone.

The only authentic Cuban and Peruvian restaurant that I have found in all of Los Angeles. As a Cuban native raised in Miami, it was disappointing to find that all of the Cuban restaurants I've visited prior to going to Coppelia's were not authentic. I had almost given up until I found them last Saturday. Not only is the food 100%, but the owner Ana and her family were so kind and attentive. They made my friends and I feel at home. The first thing I tried was the guava and cheese pastelito. It was the best thing I've eaten in months!!! I was so estatic that I FaceTimed my mom back in Miami to tell her. Their location looks like a typical bakery back in Miami. It's open and airy and they have an assortment of pastries, desserts, coffees, food and also a Peruvian menu. Their Peruvian menu is also authentic and very well done. For lunch I ordered the lomo saltado, which is ribeye marinated in onions, tomato's and seasonings, and it comes with a side of rice and French fries. It was so good, and the portions are pretty big too... done in true Latin fashion. My friend got the same thing as I, another got the chicken chaufa (friend rice) with an egg, and our third friend got a breakfast burrito. Everyone was well pleased with their food. To finish off I got the guava bread pudding since it's two of my favorite things and it was good! I also got a second guava pastry to go, and a beef pastry. My goodness was finding this spot a GEM! I have been resisting the urge to go back. But I'll definitely be back this week. I'm celebrating my birthday this week and I will be ordering so that I can share my home cuisine with all of my friends. Genuinely so thrilled.

Nothing like some great old fashioned Peruvian food along with great service. The flan was amazing too.

She was so nice and helpful. And gave us a beautiful wedding cake!!! Everyone loved it. Even my husband who hates cake normally! It was so moist and tasty.

This is my second time visiting & the staff is super friendly! My first visit I called day of to get a tres leches cake and everyone loved how it tasted. My second visit I tried more of their pastries & am definitely hooked! A gem of a place and will be visiting more.

First visit but definitely not the last at this cute little cafe & bakery. The best Tres Leches cake I've had! I got 3 different kinds, traditional Tres Leches, 4 Leches (Dulce de leches) & Cuban Coffee Leche, all excellent! The gentleman who helped me was very helpful! If you like Tres Leches, look no more.

I love this place! Their lattes are amazing and their cakes and food are delicious! Their customer service is great too! If you're looking for a spot to have breakfast I would say come here!

Delicious Peruvian food! Good prices and good portions! Came here on a Sunday for lunch and it was not busy. Ordered the Saltado and it was pretty good! Also got the beef empanada which was delicious. Definitely worth a try!

No wonder Coppelia's was named the BEST Tres Leches in L.A.! I have been a loyal guest for at least 15 years on every birthday, family and friend's birthdays as well, since I know everyone will absolutely love the cake! I am also a big fan of their empanadas, and bought them so many times throughout the years. But I REEEEALLY have to share one episode that marked my relationship with Coppelia's. My husband and I left Culver City and moved to Long Beach in 2020 to pursue our biggest life dream after 20 years working in the restaurant industry as managers: open our own restaurant. We did it! We opened our doors in February, exactly 4 weeks before the pandemic... I believe anyone could guess how hard the beginning became for us , on top of opening a brand new place , in a neighborhood we were so new! We thrived despite the odds after giving our 150%, and on our 1st year, we decided to call some local bakeries nearby in Long Beach to bake us a big cake, so we could celebrate it with our guests. We received so many BIG NO NO's from every single bakery in Long Beach: "Are you guys nuts?!? A cake for 200 people?!? We're still in a pandemic!... This is liability... Besides that, you shouldn't gather 200 people anywhere!" That would have been very true if our restaurant were in an enclosed space. Our café is 100% outdoors, and for that reason 100% open and ventilated. Despite our efforts to make people understand those facts and our eagerness to support local businesses struggling during COVID, we unfortunately couldn't. We then decided to give it a try and call our favorite bakery, explain to them our situation and try to once again patronize them despite the distance we would have to drive. Ana immediately said YES, OF COURSE WE WILL bake you a beautiful cake! And then, for the 4th consecutive year, we have been traveling 3 hours back and forth to get that most famous Tres Leches and honor our guests who definitely deserve it! By the way, so many of out guests now drive to Coppelia's from Long Beach to get the cake after trying it at Ubuntu Café. Thank you, guys. I've only been here to get their tres leches cakes. They are very delicious at a reasonable price. I get one every year for my boyfriends birthday and everyone raves about it. The staff are great and have let me come a little after closing to get my cake before which I appreciate.

This place is one of my favorites for weekend brunch! They have a nice variety of dishes and their pancake combo is so tasty! It's family owned and run, the staff are super nice and friendly. They have a nice setting, with plenty sitting and nice looking tables, a good choice to catch up with friends. One last note, if you have a sweet tooth you should try their tres leche cake

This place is a hidden gem! I went there with my wife just to try the tres leches, but OMG. What an amazing place, the food was great, everything is super well prepared. They treated us really well. We had the empanadas, all of them. Guava, meat, chicken, everything was fresh and crispy. It matches the standards of places that charge a lot more for the same quality. I also had coffee with condensed milk, I suspect it is called cortadito, it tasted like home (I'm Brazilian). Overall, it is a simple place with amazing food. Highly recommend it!

The empanadas and wedding cake we ordered were the so delicious ! Everyone was raving how moist and great the cake tastes and how flakey and flavorful the empanadas are ! I love how the decorations on the cake turned out and I will definitely be coming back for more. I 10/10 recommend this bakery ! They're my favorite and I'm forever grateful how amazing the service and food are.

Tres Leches Cake is the legend, and I love the subtle perfection of this slice. It's so moist it tastes like it's wet but it's not! I also tried a Bread Pudding with a Peruvian fruit (I think it was lucuma?), which was fun, but the Flan was my favorite, another piece of subtle perfection. If you're looking for a few bites, the sweet things here will satisfy. If you're looking to make a birthday memorable, a tres leches cake would make one heck of a gift. There's a reason they've lasted so long in the brutal competition that is Los Angeles food - come for the cake!

This location is very authentic and has an amazing lomo soltado. They have new deserts daily but their guava and cream cheese croissant are delicious.

Customer service was not it. I called and they put me on hold then clicked on me. I called again and they put me on hold for 5 minutes... When I finally got my order out they told me they didn't have Arroz con Pollo. It's 11:00am! I'd understand if they sold out at the end of the day but I'm assuming they just didn't take the time to PREP. I probably won't consider coming here again.

BF was asked to bring a cake to birthday celebrate the morning of. He wanted to drive all the way to plaza mexico and I was like let's check yelp. We ended up at Coppelia's. The place was empty around 11am on a Saturday, we parked at the back and walked in. Saw a few cakes in the fridge, and the lady (presumably Anita the owner?) asked if she can help us with something. BF proceed to talk to her in Spanish so I walked away to check out the empanadas. There were only a few there and did not really interested me. The lady was generally courteous and friendly. We ended up ending lunch there and chose a Mango Tre Leches Cake for the celebration. We both had the quarter rotisserie chicken, I had rice and plantain, BF had rice and beans. I was okay with my plate but BF was not impressed. We are very partial to Polla Inka for the Peruvian chicken. The Mango Tre Leches Cake was about $50 and wasn't quite worth it in our opinion. It was moist and sweet. However, mango flavor was really mild. It might be better if there's actual mango slice/chucks. BF's brother asked "What flavor is this?"

We used to order cakes from this bakery regularly for years in the past. They were always super moist, not super sweet, and overall delicious. We ordered a tres leches cake here last week and we were very disappointed. Before we cut the cake, we noticed some moldy fruit on top of the cake. Not the best start, but we could easily take them off. When we cut the cake it was dry and the cake didn't have a fresh taste. The bread was very chewy. In the past, these cakes were dripping milk and very soft. I'm not sure if there's been a change in ownership or in the recipe, but you're going to lose loyal customers this way.

Last minute order on birthday cake! Tres Leches was by far the best I ever had! There were two great ladies taking care of us with a smile and great welcome. The empanadas? What empanadas?! We ate them on the way back home in the car. Too good to share and very addictive! Delicious

This is a COVID-era review. The restaurant was only doing take out orders. Ordered the empanada and the tres leche slice of cake. Both were super delicious! Can't wait to try the rest of the menu and do a sit down dinner.

One of the best (if not THE BEST) tres leches cakes I have ever had...actually it may be THE best! My boyfriend swears by the Von's tres leches cake but we decided to get something more gourmet for his birthday celebration. Independently, I was looking on Yelp for the best tres leches cake in town. I stumbled upon this place and it had a bunch of reviews saying how good the cake was. I mapped it and had told my boyfriend we should try out this place since it was close by Venice where we are staying. Coincidentally, he replied saying he has had Coppelia's a number of times and loves their tres leches cake! We were able to get a custom note written out and honestly I ended up being more excited about the cake than what was for dinner haha. You MUST experience this cake, it was so yummy! The cake is moist and dense which I thought would make it too heavy for me but I actually loved it. I felt like this cake had so much substance while still being somewhat light because of the whipped cream frosting. I ate this cake every day for a straight week and could have continued this trend for another year if I had the chance. I am drooling about this cake as I write this and hope to have another soon. I would like to try the mango version of the tres leches cake because the lady at the counter had mentioned it is super yummy and definitely sounds unique.

This is the second time my family and I drive all the way out here (it's a 4 and a half hour drive for us) and they are closed. The hours on yelp are not updated. I understand that when an owner doesn't claim the business the hours may not be correct but the owner did claim the business and has replied to multiple guest on here. Yet the hours were not updated. Extremely upsetting to say the least. #TryingToShopLocal #pfft

Food was full of flavor. Very good. Staff extremely friendly. Ordered chicken, empanadas, plantains, and yucca fries. We were too full for dessert but they looked delicious.

Such good food my husband and I have always done take out but even then the food is so fresh and well made good portions. The people that work there are so sweet and they take all of your opinions and interact with you while your food is prepared if missing something time

Neighborhood hidden gem! I had one of the best tres leches cakes here! We also tried the cheesecake and pastelitos! The guava cheese pastelito was my favorite! The service was very friendly and the gal working the register was kind and professional. They also have an amazing air conditioned space with plenty of (clean) tables.)

Great savory pastries!!! I recently hosted a baby shower for my bestie, and needed some yummy appetizers, I ordered papa rellenos, chicken empanadas and pastelitos de carne (meat pies) they were all delicious and a HIT! The guests were raving about them, especially the papa rellenos! The service is always great too:)

I was googling a specific cake as well as searching on Yelp for the "Best Tres Leches Cake"...and I found it. The reviews were spot on. This bakery is a must for Tres Leches Cakes. The cake was super moist (that bottom layer ) the cool whip was so fresh. It was perfect. I'm so happy I found this place AND they gave me a few empanadas to try, and boy oh boy they did not disappoint. Family owned bakery. Friendly. Clean. Easy Parking. Great Cakes.
