The Best Ski Resorts in the US and Canada: 2025 Readers’ Choice Awards | Condé Nast Traveler

"Just 75 miles west of Denver and tucked off the highway, Copper Mountain feels like Colorado’s best-kept winter secret: over 2,500 acres naturally divided by ability, a reputation as an athlete’s mountain and a longtime hub for elite ski and snowboard training. This winter the resort will host multiple World Cup events leading into the 2026 Olympics, and Woodward Copper provides a one-of-a-kind training center with an indoor facility and terrain parks for every level; nearby lodging like the 127-room Cambria Hotel offers on-site ski storage, an après bar, and hot tubs with mountain views." - Jen Murphy

Copper mountain is so beautiful in the summer time! Rising up the chairlift was incredible and the view from the top is breathtaking (literally). We went on the haleluya walking trail and it so nice! It’s a great summer visit for the whole family ❤️

The cliff dwellings tucked into the canyon walls are incredible. Seeing where the Ancestral Puebloans built their homes more than 700 years ago gives you chills. The ranger-led tours let you climb ladders into some of the dwellings, and it’s worth it for the experience. History doesn’t get more hands-on than this.

Google
The mountain terrain happen to be very organized starting from the west side (beginner) to the center (intermediate) to east side (advanced). The village is big with so many food spots and stores to explore. They have a demo center at the base, which is super convenient if you want to try out gear, you just rent and take 10 steps to the American eagle lift. The mountain is pretty massive and most skiable areas on the front side are accessible by lifts. The lifts are pretty new.

Google
This place is stunning. We travel here each year for snow skiing. The mountain is great for families. All of the green runs are on one side and blacks on the other, with the blues in the middle. It’s nice to know your kids won’t make a wrong turn and go from a green to a black! There are also many very experienced skiers and snowboarders here for all of the jumps and “terrain park” areas. Center village has a ton of nice restaurants, ski shops and even a pond for ice skating.

Google
Copper mountains, a wonderful mountain to go to definitely family orientated. Lots of great runs. Friendly staff and very modernized way of getting through the lines. They have a wonderful lift with a canopy that comes down. The chairs are comfortable and yet the blue canopy that comes over you keeps you warm. They have lockers to put your stuff in, they have weekly and daily rents on the lockers. Great downtown atmosphere at the bottom of the run.

Google
Ski there a few days ago, beautiful weather and snow. Their green and blue trails are wide and long, very suitable for carving. Went during midweek so literally no lift line. Parked in the Alpine lot - one of the two free parking spots. There are shuttle buses running from the free lots to all villages.

Google
Copper Mountain is a combination of great terrain, good service and a type of clientele above many others. It’s a bit of a “locals” resort feel with great appeal beyond its vicinity. My son and I have had some of the best times there. From the challenging bowls and seemingly unending mogul runs, to the smooth yet interesting groomers, to the terrain park(s) to play catching some air. By all means, a great resort in the heart of the Rockies.

Google
We went in the summer for their free lift Friday. The parking is free, the lift is free, the hiking is free. There were great views and hiking from the top of the mountain. The new Aerie building is beautiful, but I wish it had more outdoor seating on the downhill side to enjoy the views of the village, valley, and mountain. I July 2024 they were still working on some of the new outdoor landscaping g and features where the old building used to sit, but it is still very nice. It was cool to see they still had two skiing/snowboarding areas and several people were working g on tricks. The village area itself was nice with multiple shops that were not overly priced as much as some of the other ski-towns. Of the 3 ski areas we visited, Copper was our favorite.

Yelp
Copper Mountain is easily my favorite mountain. (At least at the time of writing this review) This mountain is a special place for me. I became an expert on this mountain and found new meanings to my love of snowboarding on some great solo days. Great time for anyone of all skill levels, though there is more expert terrain than beginner. Run recomendations: Andy's Encore is the perfect run for anyone at the blue level and even those working up to it. It's a great place to practice new tricks and techniques, and on days where it isn't too busy, the perfect run for catching some solid speed on a controlled and groomed section of the mountain. There is plenty of fun to be had at the Resolution Bowl for those comfortable with more challenging terrain. Stay safe, have fun, and shred on!

Yelp
Bartender and beverages of choice awesome! Very disappointed in the Copper Power Bowl. Sorry, I'm a community of athletes looking for clean food to power through and 4 "pieces" of avocado when avocado is listed as part of the bowl doesn't quite suffice especially when paying $16 for the bowl. $5 of ingredients and you can't include a full avocado?

Yelp
I came here for a conference in August 2024 and stayed in Tucker Mountain in Center Village. Unfortunately, their hot tub was under maintenance, which would have been nice to know prior to making the reservation - especially since I made the reservation over the phone. There was a parking garage attached to our lodge so that was convenient. We also rented an electric car and they had 4 free electric charging stations. These stations were slow, but free, so no complaints there! During the summer, the front desk, which is located in the Athletic Club, is only open from 7 AM to midnight, with check-in starting at 4 PM. Although I came here during the off-season, there were still a lot of things to do. I went on the Rocky Mountain Coaster, which was $30 per person. You do have to purchase a Copper Mountain card for $5 first in order to enjoy the activities around the resort. They also have Go-Karts, Bungee Jumping, a Wrecktangle obstacle course, zip-lining and more. There were a lot of dining options open, as well as gift & craft stores. Frisco was also the closest town to the resort and only a 10-15 minute drive if you need to go to the grocery store or explore other dining options.

Yelp
Copper Mountain is an incredibly nostalgic place for me. During my college years, I spent a good amount of my holiday breaks here from Thanksgiving to Spring Break. A big group of my friends would rent rooms in the Center Village near the lifts and stay multiple days. We were living, breathing snowboarding from opening to close. I learned how to snowboard on these slopes, would get season passes here, and have so many incredible memories at Copper. When I visited again this past summer, this time with our little one, I couldn't help but reminisce about the good ole days. It looked a bit different without all the snow, but holy moly, the American Flyer and the American Eagle lifts are exactly as I remember them. Instead of snowboarding, we came here to try the Rocky Mountain Coaster, one of America's longest alpine coasters. There's about 5,800 feet of track, hitting speeds up to 25 miles per hour. Activity passes can be purchased on Copper Mountain's website or at guest services. It was a bit annoying trying to retrieve our passes as you had to register each card and was getting errors while trying to beat the rain. It was STORMING on our way here and the rain just happened to let up just enough as we got close to Copper. We all hopped into our carts and enjoyed the views as we steadily made our way up the hill. Once we got to the top, the ride down was one for the books. SO MUCH FUN! We all had fun. So many twists and turns through the trees. We loved it and wished it was even longer. This is such a great place for family activities, I'd love to come back again one day and try out more of their offerings. There's a ninja obstacle course, go karts, zip lining, bungee jumping, and so much more.

Yelp
Copper Mountain is a great place for outdoor recreation where you can enjoy fun all year round whether it's skiing, snowboarding, ice skating in the winter or biking, hiking and zip lining in the summer. The mountain is divided into East, Center and West villages which also corresponds to the slope difficulty which is very nice to keep skiers in their appropriate areas. The lift lines aren't too bad especially if you stay away from the bottom of the hill. My daughter loved ski school and definitely improved over her 5 days. Expensive but worth it. Food is actually pretty fair priced for a ski resort. I will definitely keep coming back here both winter and summer whenever I can. Depending on the time of year you visit and how many days you will be skiing, it may be worth getting a yearly pass. Look into it. Kids ski free (15 and under!) with an adult yearly pass too plus discounts on food and lessons. One day to ski was $268 when we were there. A season pass paid for itself in 5 days plus daughter skis free plus mentioned perks (plus if we come in summer can use chair lift etc). So play smart!

Yelp
Great ski mountain! Has great options for everyone and the free parking and bus is pretty convenient.

Yelp
Extremely disappointing summer season experience. Attended a wedding here and spent like 30 (conscious) minutes in my room. I tried to contest a bogus room charge (a lawn chair that broke) and they refused to refund me, saying that their "charge process" is "securely thorough." I was incredibly disappointed with the unpleasant and unprofessional phone manners of "Tim Lonergan" -- the residences' general manager. The front desk staff are also incredibly disinterested in their jobs and the whole place has a deep attitude problem. Crappy, cheap rooms that are overpriced. Even other guests shouted rude remarks about marriage to the bride and groom during their own photograph sessions!! I was shocked at the behavior at this "resort."

Yelp
It's always great to get away from the norm and head to the mountains for a day on the slopes. Copper Mountain is a gem and not too crowded during the week. They have black diamond tracks, some killer moguls and the coolest half pipe I have seen since the Olympics. You have choices. Theres a lot of easy chill tracks for a day of easy skiing too. Thursdays are a deal with $99 lift tickets. Order online and barcode is sent to your email. Pretty darn easy. You can park in the Alpine and East lots for free and take the shuttle otherwise parking is in the $30 range for the day. Ski rental on site at Norski will give you a discount for skis with a 48 hour notice. Lots of choices for food and drink at the bottom of the hill as well. See you on the slopes and SYOY.

Seth F.

Yelp
Went tubing and it was a blast. The slopes are fast and it's nice that they limit the amount of people that can go in a time slot. I got to go down about 7x in an hour. Very fun place. Use the free parking and take the shuttle in.

Shaun C.

Yelp
Copper Mountain offers great terrain, fast lifts, and a fun, laid-back vibe--perfect for all skill levels! Came back with my family for more! However, stay away from that place mulligans, horrible service, unfriendly workers with attitudes.

Yelp
Obviously every mountain is an operation - that's the business model. There is a very fine line, however, between more-mountain-than-operation & more-operation-than-mountain. It's hard to explain. It's almost like Copper Mountain is too much of a *thing* for it to be enjoyable for me. There's no denying that it's a massive & gorgeous place. There's nothing wrong with a very large, orderly parking/shuttling system. I see no real issue with thousands of people on the mountain together all at the same time. I have no problem with automated ticket scanners. I had a problem with the sum total of all these things. I just couldn't love Copper Mountain. Maybe it's the introvert in me, the Vermonter in me, or the hippie in me. I can admit that this might be one of the most preference-based reviews I'll ever write. I just gravitate towards & love the mountains that feel more homegrown. I can't help it. I would go back to Copper Mountain if I had a season pass that included it. Or if I got a free day pass. I would go somewhere else if the onus was on me to pay for the ticket.

Yelp
Been here for 13 years, I have been riding all over and I have decided the best value for awesome boarding is Copper. Great tree runs, powder, back country, etc. Only downside I've experienced is that they seem to have a disproportional amount of US Ski Team events that close some of the runs. Always bugs but the reality is that they stay on the wide groomers anyway so it doesn't affect me a ton. Anyway, I'm a big fan, and I've seen a lot of what CO has to offer.

Yelp
Copper Mountain was a fun mountain to visit! I cannot say much about the resort because I couldn't stay there, but their mountain trails were great for my boyfriend and me learning to snowboard. The easier greens are to the right, and they get more challenging as you travel left across the map. Our favorite green was the west-ten mile because the variety down the trail was phenomenal. We rode it at least four times, which felt different every time. Wide enough to share and steeper in certain portions. Trees galore with options to ride in and out of forested areas. We did end up paying the $45 for parking because it was right off the slopes. The line to get into the free parking was pretty long, and then you had to take all your gear on a bus. It's not for everybody, but it's an option. We visited Keystone, Copper, and Breck. My boyfriend and I would've chosen Copper resort to stay in. It was homey. Not too crowded, and plenty of trail options.

Yelp
This place is like its own little world. We came here on a Monday during the month of March and although it was quite busy I was told that the weekend brings in a crowd of about 5-10 times the amount of people. That's insane. We parked at the Alpine parking. Which is free and is about a 7 minute walk to where we needed to be. The parking area was rough. Super bumpy and very muddy. I guess that's why it's free. We were meeting some people here and they used paid parking. $10 an hour, yikes! We decided to take the bus which rotates very frequently and took about 5-10 minutes. There's so many activities here. We did the snow tubing. Had to pay in advance and waited about an hour or so because we arrived early but totally worth it. The machine let's anyone that prepaid in 15 minutes prior to their appointment. There's a conveyer that takes you and the tube up to the top. They have single and double tubes available. It's by the hour so we went down maybe 5 times. Guess it just depends on how quick, or slow you are. We took the bus over to the coaster when we got done. Apparently they closed early for the day which was a huge bummer. It looked fun. Food and drinks were super expensive. This would be a super dope place if I snowboard or ski, but NOPE lol Something sort of irrelevant to add was that my son dropped his gloves either on the way to or from the restroom. Someone found it and placed it next to the ski racks. They were blue and green gloves. If you are the one that found it and is reading this review. He said THANK YOU!

Yelp
Today I decided to do kinda a winter theme and visit one of Colorados top ski resorts to take my tractor and trailer on I-70 West to exit 195 to Copper Mountain. It is the 50th Season Celebration, so I think it's a big deal! Cars and most vehicles are allowed to use GO170 express, however my big rig can not go in that lane. The weather was beautiful and the snow and ice were clear on i70 but it was a whopping 14° outside. The sunrise was coming from the east also but just beautiful out and a wonderful ride today. Yelp
It had been years since I've skied at Copper- in fact, I'd forgotten how fun it is! There's tons of runs at a variety of skill levels. We got lucky late in the season with great snow. We stayed at an Airbnb in the Village, which seemed a lot bigger since my last visit. We cooked for ourselves, so didn't try any of the restaurants, but we did enjoy a little of the live music during après-ski.

Ray B.

Yelp
Great ski area. first time here was this winter with family and friends. Loved the diversity of the mountain, mountain hosts were super friendly and helpful. free parking via short shuttle ride was convenient and easy to use. we will definitely be back!!!

Yelp
Very fun and organized ski resort! My friend rented snowboarding gear and he said the rental and return lines were straight forward and fast. The line to the lifts were well organized as well. Food and cocktails were great, they also have tap. Lots of seating indoor and outdoor for dining, free parking with shuttle, and large bathrooms. And of course spectacular views!

Yelp
I had a health problem, this season and Libby & Valencia helped me out, regarding my season pass. I wrote a letter and Valencia reached out to me, we set a time up to discuss. She called on time and we worked out a win win! Call out to Libby & Valence, this would NEVER happen, at Vail! Keep up the great work! Thanks, Bill McCall

Yelp
Had a fabulous ski day at copper mountain. Had some great hills for someone who doesn't like to do black diamonds. Trees were fun to go through as well! Was a great day and went down so many runs!

Abby M.

Yelp
Copper Mountain is a fantastic skiing destination for families! There are things to do in both the summer and winter for kids of all ages. The mountain is easily broken up into easy to difficult runs so you're generally grouped with similar skills of skiers. There also are plenty of terrain parks if you're wanting to test your skills on jumps or rails. The ski patrol and workers are friendly and helpful throughout the resort. Highly recommend using the copper app to keep up to date on where other people in your group is and which trails are open! There also is a lot of events happening throughout the year at Copper including the Dew Tour, Special Olympics, and much more.

Yelp
Review for Copper Mountain coaster. Parking is tight as there are only a few open lots, though they seem not to mind illegal Parking on the sides and around the lots. For the coaster, you first need to fill out a waiver then wait in a separate line to purchase a ticket ($30 per person). Then you move on to a separate line before entering the coaster - this is mainly uncovered in the sun so be sure to bring water. The instructions for the coaster are easy to learn- push down to accelerate and pull back on the levers to slow down/stop. The views from the ride are spectacular. This is like a regular roller coaster except you are able to customize your experience by slowing down or speeding up depending on your preference! Only complain is that I wish the track was longer or you were able to go around a second time.

Carissa C.

Yelp
Cooper Mountain is VERY spread out. I was thinking all the summer activities were on the top of the mountain, but they were all spread out all around the resort. The place to purchase tickets was VERY hard to find. The website took forever to load. They didn't make it clear that you ALSO have to purchase a $5 reloadable card. So we drove all the way there for the bumper boats, which we thought was going to be $15 each, but it was $20 each because we both had to get a card with it.
google avatar

William W.

Yelp
Big mountain, well laid out to individuals ability with great flow to it. And some super long runs. I clocked one at 1.8 miles. So, at the end of the day you and your legs will be right on target for some jacuzzi activity. Relatively "inexpensive" in a weekday. I mean, who in their right mind ski or ride on a weekend or Holiday? If you're not a high roller who has a willing to drop 40 dollars!! on close proximity to the village parking, there's a large free lot at the resort entrance with a shuttle to get you back and forth. And if you have the Ikon pass, they are part of that network.

Yelp
We came here to finally hit some slopes. I had not gone skiing in 7 years so I was excited to be out. The prices here are quite high. I have never paid for such premium costs for a ski lift or equipment rental. There was substantial traffic and it was very unclear that free parking was very far from the slopes and main village. After driving to the parking lot closest to the village, the woman helping out at the parking station was so unhelpful. She just kept saying we needed to go elsewhere as we could not park there. Onto the equipment rental. It was not too busy at the equipment rental section, however the workers kept forgetting all the materials I needed to borrow. I had to ask several times for each piece of equipment before they helped me out. The slopes were beautiful and I did all the green slopes. After we finished skiing, we went to check into our room. This place is quite challenging to navigate, so be sure to have a paper map on hand. The check in process was lengthy and the worker gave us an exorbitant spiel which mostly included info that was not relevant to our situation Later, we went to find our car. The parking lots were very dark and we thought our car had been stolen. We called security to ask for help and they kept claiming they would come help us in ten minutes. Over an hour had passed and they did not contact us back whatsoever. We walked to the transportation office and we bumped into the two individuals who were likely the security we had called on the phone. They said they could not help us at all. After some time, we eventually found our car and called back security to let them know they did not need to come out. All they said was, "oh we called you back saying we were sure you would find your car" They did not such thing and cannot be relied upon. The service here is terrible, it is not very clear on how to navigate these premises and it is also very expensive compared to all the other resorts I have been in. Go elsewhere. They do their best to collect your money

Yelp
2019 Yelp 120 Challenge - #110 First time at Copper Mountain Ski Resort and honestly my husband and I had the best first experience. My husband and I drove up from Denver and with the snow it was roughly a hour and 45 minute drive. We drove slower than normal because it was snowing and they were paving the road, but without snow you can get there under that time. You take 70 all the way to exit 195 toward Copper Mountain and then you're greeted with the big beautiful sign. Parking is free in the Alpine lots 1, 2 and the Far East Lots. Copper also have shuttles taking you to and from each village. There is a East, Center and West Village. Each village has its own unique characteristics for example. * East has the Tubing Hill and access to Copper's intermediate and Advance Terrain. * Center Village is in the center of all the action and access to the beginner and intermediate terrain. *West Village is a beginner's paradise with access to all Copper's beginners terrain. My husband and I stayed in West Village because there was so much to do and it was our first visit. There was so much space that with it being a Saturday, you were not crowed on the slop. I love Copper Mountain Ski Resort and we will defiantly be back,

Yelp
Well, my rating from last year dropped considerably. Unfortunately my wife got injured, she tore her ACL and MLC on just her second run of the morning last week. I purchased 3 day lift tickets for four people. I attempted to get a refund for the two unused days for my wife's tickets but all they would offer me is a 2-day ticket voucher which expires this season....ummm it's the last week of March, you'll be closing in a month or so and an ACL surgery takes 6-8 months to recover from. They could easily check to see that see only used one day of her lift ticket and I offered to show them all the paperwork from the on site medical clinic as well as hospital but they wouldn't budge. At least give me a voucher for next year if you can't refund the money. This left a very bad taste in my mouth. I ski in Colorado once or twice a season, usually 6-8 days total, I stay on property, eat on property and shop on property, I spend a lot of money at their resort, probably $6,500 on this trip alone so I hope the $300 you refused to refund me for my injured wife's unused lift tickets was worth it Cooper Mountain because you lost a customer. I'll ski at Breckenridge or Winter Park and spend my hard earned money at those places.

Yelp
I went there once this year 2024 on a Friday in February. We had a great time. It wasn't crowded, so we didn't have to wait in any lift lines. Nice long runs. Definitely a fun place to ski.

Yelp
Underrated but fantastic mountain! I'm not a double black diamond skier so I couldn't ride the entire mountain, but wow this place is great! Long runs, fewer people than Vail and Breck. I wouldn't sleep on this mountain. I'd consider myself a blue/black snowboarder and I had so much fun on the runs. If you're looking for a great mountain with challenging terrain (great for a black diamond skier or snowboarder), this is it! Everyone who works there is super friendly too. Also the food is great on and right off the mountain too!

Yelp
I had such a blast at Copper Mountain skiing their green routes as I'm getting my bearings on the slopes. This resort, ski village, and their operations altogether are super smooth. During the pandemic they are super strict about the number of people who can actually be out there. They determine capacity by the number of parking passes. Even if you have a ski pass and not a parking pass you won't be able to get in. Green routes were super smooth and all of the ski pass checkpoints were open and easy to maneuver. It is very well maintained and the snow was divine!! There is three village areas and Copper Mountain has an internal bus transportation that extends from the extended parking lots and maneuvers within each village as well.

Yelp
Jeff was the man! Had an awesome ski lesson from Jeff at copper. My partner's parents are ski instructors, and they were VERY impressed by what Jeff taught me when I skied with them two days later! But thanks to Jeff for giving me great instruction and confidence to crush a green+ after only skiing once before! Can't express my gratitude enough! Thanks, Jeff!!!

Yelp
The skiing is good but they need to figure out a better way to get folks off the freeway and into the area. I realize the logistics of this are more complicated than making a better burger or fixing a broken lift. The freeway has a 2 lane exit that runs directly into a stop light. Heaven forbid there's actually decent snow because the traffic is backed up for MILES moving at a snails pace. Die hard skiers will hate my review but if you're from out of town trying to figure out where to go....keep this in mind. I think it took us 1.5 - 2 hours to go a few miles.

Yelp
I used Copper Mtn lodging and had alot of issues, the front desk was rude and would not refund me and did not know anything , there canceling agreement in like most worthless, do not use Copper Mtn lodging instead use AirBnB much better

Yelp
I love their lodging services. They have an extensive list of buildings but they do the ski "basics" right. Very under rated resort with good resort owned lodging options. Two thumbs up, especially if you can find a deal.

Yelp
Ya the mountain is ok and ski good but mostly have y'all met that dog Zoë who lives there? Holy wow she's the best. I would die for her. Unreal dog look at these photographs

Yelp
UPDATE: They've changed their sizes, and I'm not sure how it compares to what it used to be. It's still delicious! I do wish they'd make a move to more sustainable service. Unless you're going back to your car or have a place to store the bowl, your throwing out a thick plastic bowl for every Mac

Yelp
Haven't been skiing or boarding in a while but coming back to copper was a nice experience. There isn't much snow but somehow the runs weren't very icy which was amazing and there are a good amount of chill runs for just cruising. The resort is pretty large so taking the shuttle to east, central, or west village is recommended. I thought it would be walkable but the village centers are a fair distance apart from each other. For GREEN and other beginner lifts, take Kokomo or American flyer. Some really fun runs and good views.

Yelp
EXCELLENT ADDITION FOR 2019 We need more affordable counter serve establishments like this in Center Village. Here the menu is efficient, 10 items, fountain drinks and beer. The most expensive item is the large lobster Mac at $12.25. BOTTLE NECK: There are only two pans to custom create the items, so the wait can be long. My favorite is the Philly Cheese, see pic., with a fountain drink totaled less than $12.

Yelp
We skied here last week for the first time and I think this is a very underrated ski mountain. We had a lovely time plus free parking, a lot of terrain for all different ski levels, etc. Copper Mountain is on the Ikon pass too so plan accordingly.

Yelp
Simply put: Don't visit during the summer. Winter activities are decent. They do a bike haul during the summer and don't post trail closings before they sell you a ticket. If you get up there and all the decent trails are closed, too bad. If you get up there and all the trails are rained out for the day, too bad. They won't refund you no matter the experience. Even if you only get one ride up the lift before they shut everything down, nope, you're out of luck. No rain check, no reimbursement, no nothing. The staff at the Central Village ticket counter is as indifferent as can be. They won't help you after they take your money.

Yelp
my experience here has been good, what ruined it was this excessively large chair. So unnecessary, at this point of size the aesthetic is not even there. It just looks stupid.

Yelp
Copper is a great alternative to the "epic" mountains in the area. The lift lines are generally much shorter and the mountain offers a variety of terrain. Base area has a ton of different shops and restaurants for those who don't want to spend all of their time on the slopes. Several options for parking including a couple of free lots via a 5 minute shuttle ride or closer parking from $15-25$ (honestly not worth it.) Negatives of Copper are similar to the top of Breck/any exposed ski area, if it's a windy day the top of the mountain may not be that much fun with limited visibility and blowing winds. Also the new bubble chair is one of my least favorite because of how often it stops. Honestly though, of the Ikon mountains in Colorado Copper is right up there with the best.

Yelp
A very must do when you get to Colorado in the winter time. I was able to ski here with my son and had an epic day in the trees. If you like steep, make sure you get to Mary Jane!

Yelp
This place was absolutely beautiful. It was like it's own little ski town. We stayed in Denver but visited here for the mountain coaster. Once arriving the ski area looked amazing they had half pipes, ramps etc. we didn't come to ski/board though because we had done it the day before in Eldora (see previous review). Anywho everyone was super nice which seems to be the Colorado way. Once we purchased our tickets for the coaster, we were told it would open at noon. Well their site said 11 so we had to wait a bit. 1230 they finally told us to line up .. well we were in line for another hour or so and they kept pushing the time back saying they needed to test it a few more times. I would normally give a 2-3 star review for this miscommunication and the wait time but everyone kept us in the loop they were very nice and once we got on it was a lot of FUN!! Def recommended but be prepared to wait if there's tons of snow.

Yelp
We had the best week here. We stayed in an Airbnb in Tucker Mountain Lodge for the week and loved the amenities and how close we were to the mountain. We had a ski locker downstairs and grabbed our rentals from Rebel right there in the village. We used our Arizona Snowbowl season passes to get us 3 days of free skiing here and even hit up Cooper and Loveland for a day each there since we met our quota at Copper without having to pay for lift tickets. The mountain itself has tons to offer. Our daughter just learned to ski greens and is pretty solid now. Our son is a green-blue skier and tore up the mountain. The green areas have tons to offer beginners and those nice, long Colorado greens are what make us come to Colorado! Our greens in Flagstaff are just so short that you spend all your time on the lifts. We loved the terrain parks (even in greens!) and were just so impressed with the options. There are tons of trees to ski through-- my fave. I could get my thrills while still chasing my kids down a mountain. The high speed 6-seater, American Flyer, was awesome and had a snow shield which did become quite helpful during one of the days. They even have a gondola and other high speed lifts. They have something for everyone, even at the top of the mountain. We loved American Flyer to the Rendezvous and then down. It got you above the treeline and was super quiet with breathtaking views. The village itself had tons to offer and plenty of restaurants to fill you for the week. We will definitely return to Copper in the future. It was perfect.

Yelp
This has got to be the most underrated ski destination. Now, I'm not a pro when it comes to going down the mountains and I haven't been to some of the bigger resorts, but there are some real great things about Copper Mountain: Close to Denver. Great for family vacation or beginners - there is a great learning area and there are also a good bit of green routes. I generally like to stay on the green routes or maybe an easy blue, but I get sick of only having a couple main routes to go down (Keystone). I felt like I had a lot more green route options compared to Keystone. It's not one of the big named resorts and so you don't have the same crowds to deal with. Multiple times while there we heard people talking about how packed Breckinridge was and how long the lift lines were. No long lines at Copper Mountain! Staff were all very nice. I found the buses to be very reliable. There were several good restaurant options or places to grab a drink. Will definitely go back! Can't say enough good things about Copper Mountain. We even met some locals that were impressed with us finding Copper Mountain because it doesn't get much name recognition for people that aren't really into skiing/snowboarding or from the area; they were of the opinion that Copper Mountain is the best mountain.

Yelp
Copper Mountain is a wonderful snow skiing resort for many reasons, but I'm going to speak to the experience of the once-per-year Texan skier. We usually go to New Mexico for our annual Christmas-time trip, but this year we had a whole week off at Thanksgiving and we needed to find a resort that would already be open with runs we could actually ski. Thanks to On the Snow (an awesome website & app for researching ski resorts; see http://www.onthesnow.com/open_resorts_all.html), we found Copper and loved what we saw: + a resort that was easy to reach from Denver (unlike our usual harrowing, icy, rural, mountain drives from Albuquerque up to Angel Fire or Red River); + the most reasonable lift ticket prices around ($69/day with a 3 of 5 days pass; less for kids, and even less with a seasonal Four Pack deal); + a mountain that had a variety of terrain difficulty, with lots of green slopes for our group of perpetual beginners (see the trail map here: http://www.coppercolorado.com/winter/the_mountain/trail_map/1617_TrailMap_SmallWebPDF.pdf); and + a reputation as being a "locals" type of place, meaning (hopefully) fewer tourists and less hassle. We reserved a room for a very reasonable rate via Airbnb at The Lodge at Copper, a condo complex in the Center Village just a few yards away from the American Flyer lift, which services the green sloped side of the mountain. We ordered our lift tickets online for the best prices and waited with excitement for our trip. The drive over from Denver (after two days of lessons at Snobahn Indoor Ski gym) was easy as could be, since we were coming in on a Monday morning. From what we've heard, the weekend & holiday traffic on I-70 can be a nightmare and we were thankful to avoid that. We stopped for groceries at City Market in Dillon and made it to Copper by 10:30am. Sadly, we just happened to travel during the warmest fall they have had in years and the opening of the mountain had been delayed by a week, meaning very few runs open at Copper during our stay. In fact, on our first day of skiing, only 1 lift was running, American Eagle, and the only terrain available was an advanced blue with some very steep and icy sections. We attempted it the first day, but quickly realized we were out of our league and would need to make other arrangements if we wanted to ski. Luckily, Loveland Ski Area just a few miles back toward Denver had green slopes open for us and that's where we did the rest of our skiing for this trip. Other than having no green slopes open during our early season trip, Copper met or exceeded all of our other expectations. The place was not overrun with tourists, the shops and restaurants were pleasant and not overpriced compared to what we usually see in NM. We will definitely be coming back in the future when the American Flyer is running and those easy slopes are available for ski-in/out from The Lodge.

Yelp
First of all; I do love Copper Mountain, the mountain that is-- great terrain and such-- but the current management leaves alot to be desired. I bought a 4-pack last year and couldn't use it due to COVID-19 and they callously refused any kind of refund or extension. It's often overcrowded, icy, and covid precautions are being poorly enforced. Workers often seem under-trained and noncommital, and as a former employee I can't blame them for being less than stoked about their wages or mgmt. Copper will always be a great mountain, but the current attitude seems to be all about the bottom line-- lift tickets are now $189, which is more than even Aspen. And yet at Aspen, you get less crowds, nicer facilities, and better attitudes...

Yelp
The only good thing about my trip to Copper (first time) was Stephanie C in the west village section of rentals, truly! The guest services were rude, the facilities were outdated and the whole west village locker area smelled like urine and vomit.
