My husband and I went up the this rooftop lounge for a drink to see the view. We shared a bottle of wine, which was so delicious. We didn't have any food, so I can't speak to that. The views were incredible! We were there for the sun setting and loved the timing. The staff lit the fires on the patio and with the reflection on the glass, some of the pictures looked like parts of the city were on fire.

Such a great spot in Ottawa! The rooftop view is amazing especially at sunset. Drinks are on point (highly recommend the espresso martini), and the vibe is classy but chill. Perfect place for a date or a night out with friends.

I would love to tell them what they could do to improve.... but I can't think of a single thing!! My wife can't sit right at the edge so they put us in a booth elevated above all of the other tables for a much better, uninterrupted view!! The service was impeccable, not only from our sever but from any server or the manager who happened to pass by and notice that we might need something. We never felt rushed as you might think when you're taking up a six top with two people. I've read some reviews about the food and service not being worth the price, however; we spent almost 3 hours there, saw a beautiful sunset over a beautiful city, had gourmet food, perfect service, and excellent wine for $200 cdn. If you think that's expensive, we obviously have different standards. Don't miss it, you won't regret it!

Great cocktails, good beer, and awesome servers and bartenders. Their signature cocktails are amazing. However, it is the view from the rooftop of the Andaz Hotel, especially on a cool evening that is the most remarkable. Great view of the Byward Market, Parliament, and Gatineau. Definitely recommend a stay at the hotel and/or a few drinks at the Copper Spirits.

Most of the 4 Stars go to the view and ambiance, which is phenomenal. Moody, sexy vibe and the view of the Market, Parliament, etc is unmatched. DJ and music on Saturday night is great, too. Food is fine but just sharing plates and not much variety or offerings. Drinks were also decent. Prices are reasonable. Service is slow and friendliness depends on who you get - one guy was great, the other girl looked completely bothered to be there.

This restaurant boasts the best view in all of Ottawa, making it an ideal choice for a scenic date night. However, the service is quite disappointing. The staff is slow and appears untrained, as simple tasks like bringing utensils and napkins are not being performed. The cocktails are just okay, nothing special, but the food is better, though the portions are minuscule. In conclusion, the restaurant’s stunning view is the only reason to visit.

Very disappointed with our experience. It’s a nice place/ bar in the summer but never going back in the winter. They have no food other than chips and nuts , the bat was packed with 10 years old boys ( probably hockey tournament) I didn’t even know that kids were allowed in bars?? Totally killing the “lounge vibe” the music was not great. Not sure what happened to this bar , but someone needs to pay attention to details.

Overall: D // 2 stars This bar does not live up to the great name of the Andaz hotel chain it shares presence with. Their drinks had quite unmemorable flavors and mundane aesthetic. I also found their bar menu to fit the theme very well as the dishes sounded more like plated dining rather than finger foods or sharable plates. Additionally, while the establishment has very pleasant rooftop views of the city, I found the staff to be generally aloof or neglecting throughout service and failing to take advantage of this great ambience; we had to actively chase them down for water, the menu for bar snacks, and the check among other things which lowers my opinion of this establishment. (Golden Hour: B) - An easy to palette, fruit and sugar-forward cocktail that works well. I do wish the presentation was more elaborate. (Sights & Spritz: C) - Another drink thats lightweight and easy to palette. There are notes of lemon and lavender that come through, but it feels like its missing character. Located inside the Andaz Ottawa hotel on the top floor, this is an patio restaurant with appitizers and cocktails. The venue was very busy so try to book ahead if you want to get a seat. The main attraction of this place is that is has the absolute best view of the Ottawa skyline overlooking parliment hill. A great chill spot to get a few drinks and get in the views. If you can try to book so you can see the sunset over the city. My only gripe was they imposed a strict 60 min limit for the next guests so make sure you make your time worth it.

It was actually in June, 2018. It was during the weekend of the Canada day, so obviously it was packed. Everybody was looking at me like was not in my place. Yes, I was with my big backpack so what ?! It was literally like I was a ghost and any bartender can't see me . Took time to order my drink. It was kind of expensive just for Caesar cocktail with no extra on it.

The view is amazing, the food is a mixed bag. I've never had such good cheese dip or such a bad hamburger. On the latter, it's as if they tried to come up with the worst hamburger possible. The best way that I can describe it is it's as if they took the order, went to a local McDonalds, ordered a burger (not even a quarter pounder, the old tiny burgers), waited for its temperature to equalize with the surrounding environment, and then sold it at a 1000% markup. I also ordered it without pickles, but the presence of pickles couldn't do much to further detract from the mass-produced child-sized puck of tasteless room-temperature beef served without any bacon, onion, mushrooms, etc.

We went on a weeknight, it wasn't busy. Drinks and charcuterie were really good, we were underwhelmed by the small plates we got. I got the Neptune's melange and all I could taste was onion. As the night went on, it was harder and harder to get service, we had to wait quite awhile for cutlery and they seemed to be in a rush. Despite that, the service we did receive was polite. The views were really amazing. I'm glad we visited, but I don't think I'll be coming again any time soon.

I have been coming into this restaurant since it opened. Always a good experience. Having a grandchild who is Celiac allows me to take her out to dine with plenty of options.

So on top of the Andaz hotel, sits the oasis known as Copper. Hi-end, upscale bar and club. They have a DJ that clearly knows how to keep the party going. Very nice decor. Staff professional and courteous. Age range there is probably 25-60 years old. Good mix of folks. Nice patio seating area. If you are in the area, and you are a nite owl, worth the visit.

First of all, let me just say that I'm surprised about the negative reviews complaining about service. I've been at least a dozen times over the past two years and I can say that the service has always met or exceeded my expectations. I brought a large group of colleagues there last week - I reserved a spot on the patio AHEAD OF TIME knowing it's summer and everyone wants to be out there. The manager Carrie Nicastro gave us the BEST view of the city for my Torontonians. (By the way, this lady rocks - I've seen her often during my visits and she's a power house of endless energy and hospitality.) Our server Aaron, was phenomenal. He checked in on us regularly, made GREAT recommendations for food, and I don't think my drink was ever empty ONCE. The feedback I got from my guests was that the service here far exceeded the service they were used to for "trendy" rooftop bars in Toronto - which there are many. It was also super busy on a Tuesday, and the staff was consistent all the way until the lights came on. My recommendation: if you're hosting people you want to give the ultimate Ottawa experience, book a spot on the patio, grab some Prosecco or bottle service, and enjoy the beautiful scenario (and people) you're surrounded with.

I came here with some work friends and was really impressed by the view. I consider this pretty high end, and of course the price goes up accordingly. For all the bougees out there, this is a great bar to visit in Ottawa. The service was good, the waiters weren't pushy but remained attentive. The decor was very modern and posh, exactly my kind of vibe. As for the food? I wasn't impressed. But there's this one drink (something with a tea mix) that I cannot forget (in a good way). I would definitely go back to try other drinks (they're just so creative).

My first rating was 5 stars. Had small orders for lunch and vodka lime soda made to perfection ...but then I came back. Don't bother coming in the evening when the DJ Loudspeaker sets up shop on top of where people are sitting, volume cranked so you're yelling at each other's ear in what's supposed to be a scenic lounge bar. Next, if you can get the bartender off her phone to make eye contact with you once in a while to check on your drink when it's not that busy, I would have ordered more. wtf has this place come to? It's only a matter of time before I see an episode of bar rescue happening here.

One of the only places in Ottawa where you can get a view of the whole city; especially gorgeous during sunset, and super romantic! ;) Impress your date by bringing him/her here! Some tables have a fire so it's cozy too. They have a variety of drinks that are well-made. Service is attentive. Definitely a great way to relax with a view, especially if you don't live in an apartment/condo that's high up, like me! :)

The views are definitely worth it. Got there in time for the sunset and the night skyline view of the city. I had the Chai and Bye copper cocktail and I was pleasantly surprised. Nice spot for a date by your self or with your partner! Highly recommend

On the top of the Andaz Hotel in the market, Copper Spirits & Sights is the best rooftop bar in Ottawa. The lounge seating outside around fire pits has a view of the Parliament Buildings and is a great spot for cocktails at sunset.

I attended the Rooftop Beats & Brunch with my sister and was not disappointed! There is something for everyone here from eggs, DIY Caesar stations, make your own avocado toast, charcuterie, and the most unique desserts and cocktails. Everyone is dressed in their Sunday best for brunch which features themed canapes, passed appetizers, sample caesars, a complimentary mimosa and a DJ. Let's not forget the amazing view of the city to tie it all together. We grabbed our two complimentary mimosas and followed with their Moulin Rouge cocktail. There were so many delicious bites to eat, I'll definitely be back again soon!

Oooh that hit the spot! Wish a took a photo of the presentation first! I never had tuna ceviche before and it was very different from what I expected but good. The fresh chillies mixed in where a nice touch!!! The bartender knew his stuff... Is a good establishment!

Great cocktail bar at the Andaz. I was staying here for a work trip and decided to pop up stairs for a beverage. I was happily surprised with the great service, great drink, and beautiful views. Definitely check it out.

I came here with two friends for a couple drinks and to check out the rad view. While the view and atmosphere is indeed rad, the service is excruciatingly slow. The table next to us had to call the waiter and ask for more drinks. When our server finally came back, he had forgotten my friend's one-word drink order. The cheese bread is pretty amazing though (although one member of our party felt there was not enough cheese) and drinks delicious! So...good luck with the service, but cool atmosphere, good drinks and food.

Nice rooftop bar in this contemporary hotel Andaz in byward market area! Great views of the Ottawa city.

Beautiful view. Chic decorations. Seems like a popular spot; good amount of people, cute guys/girls. Everyone is dressed nicely. Yummy drinks. Outdoor fires, comfy seating, friendly waitresses. Very accommodating. I didn't try the food but it smelled great.

The view is amazing. The service? Not so much, especially at these prices. I've given this place chance after chance, been there probably 7 or 8 times, and the service has gotten measurably worse. The wait staff at our last lunch was incredibly rude and dismissive, telling our one vegetarian friend "good luck" when she mentioned she'd like some vegetarian options from the trays that were going around. When we spoke to the management about his poor treatment of one of our party, I was assured that someone would follow up with me to make it right. No one ever did. We would love to return if this place had a turnaround in their service issue, but several repeat visits with the same lack of attention, dismissive attitudes, and just overall lack of caring says it's not worth it.

One of the best locations for a rooftop patio. Come here during sunset for the best view! We had a reservation so our seats were comfortable (two tables put together to seat four people). However it seemed like everyone else who walked in, they got stuck with single tables for groups of 4-5. So be warned - make a reservation!

The food was mediocre: mussels were overcooked and cold and the chicken tacos were also cold. The food was very slow too. To top it off, while still waiting for gelato, we were told our time was nearly up, which was the first we heard about there bring a ninety minute deadline! Anyway, we left just before 90 minutes and the place was still nowhere near full. Give it a miss unless you really want the view!

Beautiful view, the outdoor patio is to die for. My friend and I were searching for a patio with some sun despite it being a bit later in the evening mid-spring and this location hit the spot. We arrived to a fairly quiet bar, a few people inside, a few outside. The atmosphere is very up-scale, romantic, quiet. The cocktails are beautifully crafted and served quickly. Later in the evening, there were a few tourist groups popping in to take pictures of the view but they were quiet and respectful.

BEWARE: Reservations are not respected!!! I have been to Copper a few times over the past 2 years and enjoyed the drinks and atmosphere enough to recommend to my colleagues that we have our Christmas party at this location. Knowing that it is a popular spot around the holidays (we tried to walk-in last year and could not be seated - no problem) we had the foresight to make a reservation in late October for our party to be held on December 13, 2019. Our online reservation was happily taken by "Matthew - Copper Bar Supervisor" who emailed back: "We do have availability for that time! I've gone ahead and secured your reservation, just let me know if anything changes." After thanking the Manager, we did not communicate again with Copper until December 12, 2019, when I, as a courtesy, sent our updated numbers for the reservation, within the email chain confirming our reservation. Imagine my dismay when I arrived at work the morning of our Christmas party to find a reply from "Paul - Copper Manager" advising us: "We are actually closed on Friday December 13th for a private event. We apologize for the inconvenience, we do have our restaurant Feast+Revel available, should you decide to do I can certainly do the booking for you. Alternatively we are open again at Copper Saturday starting 4pm." Here we are, the day of our party, with no venue!!! When I emailed back to express our extreme disappointment and ask why we were not notified of this earlier (i.e. the within the seven weeks the reservation was made and the date of our party) the "Copper Manager" replied: "I understand your disappointment and if I can be of further assistance in rebooking something for you please let me know. In terms of a phone call, we do not have a phone number on file for you either with your reservation or within your email exchanges with us. It is always our policy to contact first by phone, then by email if we can't reach our guest via phone." Completely inadequate response considering that I actually emailed THEM as a courtesy, and they had made NO attempt to advise us prior to MY email that they had cancelled our reservation! If I had never emailed them to re-confirm our attendance numbers, we would have showed up at the venue to be told we no longer have a reservation! Needless to say, considering both the fact that our reservation was cancelled and we were never advised, as well as the unsatisfactory explanation received from the "Paul - Copper Manager", I will not be frequenting Copper anymore and neither will any of my colleagues. I will be warning my friends and family to steer clear as well.

Beautiful view. Great drinks. Nice staff. Great spot to soak in Ottawa and relax. If you make reservations you can sit outside with a private fireplace. Very upscale and romantic and not too crowded. It is a hidden gem. Definitely make this place top on your go to list.

My boyfriend and I went here with out friends from Ottawa. The drinks were okay (nothing special or anything) but the service was awful. The server would take our drink order and would come back 20 minutes later to ask if we wanted anything. Take your money and business somewhere else in the Market area.

We were staying the weekend at the hotel and decided to check out the bar .... best decision (other than coming to Ottawa in the first place) we made ... not only was the staff amazing but the view was pretty awesome too ... sitting enjoying ourselves I overheard the bartender talking about his "smokie old fashioned" ... I had to try it ... given a choice of their great bourbon selection I went with the Bookers ... best old fashioned I have ever had ... when you add that to the friendly service and excellent quality, I can't rate this place high enough ....
