A must. The best place for exploring the unique countryside, people, cultural heritage and rural villages of Transylvania with the most singular hostess that offers a wide range of opportunities that make this trip an unforgettable experience.

Copsa Mare Guesthouses, set in an idyllic and unspoilt Saxon village, were perfect in all respects. We stayed for three nights in The Yellow Main Suite which was beautifully furnished and equipped with all we needed. Great thought and care have gone into every single detail and Giovanna has clearly got a splendid sense of style. The bedroom was spacious and well lit, plus we had a very comfortable sitting room, splendid shower in the sensibly designed bathroom plus a small walk-in wardrobe room with coffee and tea-making equipment.||The food was delicious and plentiful without exception, prepared and presented with care and elan in the lovely separate dining room by Giacobbe. Giovanna was the perfect host and a mine of helpful advice and information on the local area and where we might visit. She and her husband have invested a huge amount of time and resources into renovating many houses in the village, not just generating tourist traffic, but in doing so also preserving the heritage of this beautiful part of Romania. ||If you want a stylish yet genuine and quiet place to stay whilst you explore Transylvania, then you should not hesitate to go to the Copsa Mare Guesthouses. |

Goodness what a wonderful place to stay! Giovanna is one of the special people working hard to preserve the traditional gem that is Transylvania Romania. The guesthouse blends perfectly into the village. The Ochre House was perfect for a family with a sitting room to enjoy our own space after an incredible meal (thankyou for accommodating Bruce who is vegetarian). Your suggestions were spot on and we loved cycling with Sergiu in Sighisoara and riding with Bianca from Villa Abbatis up into the hills. I would recommend this 100%.

Lovely guesthouses situated in one of the ancient villages of Transylvania. We stayed 3 nights in the white house. Expect Western prices, but for that you receive spacious rooms renovated and decorated with a lot of good taste and respect for the building. The guesthouses also offer common areas such as kitchen and living area, where you can easily spend a day relaxing and reading a book during a rainy day.

I visited many villages, some famous other not so. Copsamare it is a dead end, it is very protected and uniquely silent||As usual when u arrive in this villages it is hard to find places where u can rest after having driven around. Copsa Mare Guesthouse is one of the exceptional place where you can do that.||The houses are all separates and you select a room. Together with a room comes a living room and a common area that has a chimney and a comfortable couch where to sit and read|The is simply no noise...like europa 30 years ago. There is a quietness that makes your reading infinite||The best rooms have a bath tub. Hot, steel and deep for a relaxing bath.||Other have a small independent living room.||We choose for an exclusive White House tariffs which is the basically the entire house for us 4 (two couples).|This is a fantastic choice because you have the entire house for you and you can enjoy the stay|||Than we went for dinner at Simona’s . This is an independent barn that belongs to the Guesthouse where you have dinner with all the other guests||Very modern kitchen in an original barn. Quite a pleasant surprise. Simona’s way of receiving is very familiar, very soft, and her food is very her’s. The gossip in town is that she has blended her traditional recipes with the ones made by Giovanna who is the owner. (She was not there when we arrive)| ||Our advises>|- Zacutsa (pronounced this way) as a starter|- Chorba de Perisoara (a western version) as a first at night|- Pork filet from the pork grown in the village with traditional Transylvanian potatoes ||We also tried the cheery cake, and the traditional nut cake with plum sauce (slurp!)||It is not easy to identify the house where you do the check in. After that Simona take care of you. Call before arriving||Go and visit the church and enjoy the long walks around the village. We also asked them to organize a pic nic for us. Unique simple expirience||Ideal for a two/three day stay. There are many other villages to visit that are close to it and make Copsa Mare a good base camp||||

Perfect place to have your bike with you and start to discover the beautiful village’s from Transylvania!||Highly recommended for the hospitality and the quality of attention for heritage, thanks to the impressive work made by Giovanna!

We stayed overnight at Copsa Mare whilst on a riding tour around this part of Transylvania. Joanna was a wonderful host, the accommodation elegantly rustic, the local food splendid and the whole experience very "high class" Romanian. Joanna also proved to be especially knowledgeable and passionate about the local architecture and culture. Very good.

This is the kind of place that gives you the feeling that you're at the same time both in 18th century rural Central Europe and in 21st century stylish urban Central Europe. When you're in the courtyard, it looks like the 18th century. When you're in the dining room, well, it's like a very cozy small restaurant (just for you and your friends) in a big elegant city in Central Europe. The food is absolutely delicious and Simona is a wonderful host. The rooms are designed with much gusto and everything is very clean. A perfect place to rest!
