The meals, especially breakfast and dinner, were delightful, and the bar staff added a nice touch to the overall experience. The stunning harbor view was a bonus during my 6-night stay. I had paid for breakfast in advance, expecting a hassle-free checkout. However, when I arrived at the reception to check out, I was informed that I had not paid for two breakfasts. I explained that I had covered all my breakfasts for four nights and that everything was paid. Unfortunately, we were in a rush for our train, so I reluctantly paid again for the extra breakfasts. Once I got home, I contacted the hotel to clarify the situation. I reiterated that I had paid for everything and questioned the additional charges for two breakfasts when we had only enjoyed four nights' worth. The manager assured me she would investigate, but I did not receive a follow-up. Upon calling again, I learned from the reception that there had been an error; I should have only been charged for four breakfasts. Despite recognizing their mistake, the manager offered no apology or discount, disappointing us. This experience underscores the importance of proactive management in addressing such issues to ensure guest satisfaction and trust. Your feedback is crucial in shaping the hotel's service standards.

The superior double room is really comfortable. I felt safe and warm and everything i needed was here. The TV was not user friendly, I don't think the volume button worked, which was surprising as it was apparently only two weeks old. Great bathroom and water pressure. A great location, close to everything including bars, cafes and Te Papa. The food was a bit average, I ordered two meals in my room and did not enjoy either of them. Reception staff were great.

Stayed 4 nights for business ||I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel and would not recommend it to anyone.||The moment I stepped into the hallway, I noticed a strong musty smell that made the place feel unclean and poorly maintained. Unfortunately, things didn’t improve once I got to my room. The decor and furniture were extremely outdated, and it felt more like a budget motel from the 90’s than a hotel that charges the rate they do.||To make matters worse my room wasn’t served by 3pm after being out for most of the day . I called the front desk and got a half-hearted apology but this was blamed on a full hotel .||This stay was not worth the money and I won’t be returning . There are definitely better options in the area- don’t make the same mistake I did .

Nice modern hotel, close to Te Papa and groceries at New World, harbourfront walk. Had a lovely waterfront view and I always like a bottle of fresh milk for tea, absolutely hate those stupid creamer plastic cuplets the cheapos give. Nice amenities. Nice breakfast too. Only cons for me is that same-ish decor you see nowadays; grey or black or white or beige with a plop of colour. That view, though, made me very happy.

Location was perfect. Beautiful views and close to the beach and city. We stayed for 4 nights and it seemed that the cleaners don’t service the rooms that are occupied until after they have cleaned the vacated rooms… which meant by the time they got to our room it was after 2.30-3.30 and by then it was too late….and we were back in our room. Since check in isn’t till 2pm I would expect the rooms with people that are staying longer to be serviced first. There were no robes…. Which I would expect for a Millennium Hotel. The carpets look rough and the inside of the rooms and out in the hallway are really shabby along with the walls and doors, seen better days. Nice comfortable beds. Breakfast would be hit and miss…. A lot of things in both the hot and continental sections would run out and take forever to refill. Something as simple as the bread and a lot of the time the fruit and pastries wouldn’t get refilled and we would get sick of waiting and leave. Lounge area really nice for a drink and to look at the view.

My experience here was generally good. Breakfast was good (although they ran out of plain yogurt our third day there); coffee was plentiful, not always the case in NZ. Our meals in the restaurant were pretty good, though service at lunch was pretty slow.||Our room was on the 8th floor. The layout of this hotel is a little different. You enter on ground floor, take the elevator to 7 for the restaurant and bar, and then a different elevator to the upper floors, which are in the back. The hotel is built into the side of the cliff (which is kind of cool); the result of this is that our 8th floor room looked directly into the front window of houses at street level behind us. Generally not a big deal (we weren’t paying for harbor view), but there is no A/C. Hotel was kind enough to include fans, but without the sliding glass door and curtains open, there was no cool air to drawn in. Even with the door open and the curtain pulled back and the fan on, mostly not below 26 degrees C and never below 24. So it was not ideal, as I like it about 21 when I sleep, and prefer to close the curtains.||Other than that, the room was a little cramped (queen bed + twin bed), but pretty comfortable. Beds comfy. Hot water plentiful and water pressure good. Hair dryer and plenty of towels. Somewhat outdated but clean. Location was great. Being able to walk up and down stairs from room to restaurant was nice.||I was on a group trip, and understand why they chose this place. It was OK but I probably would not book this for myself due to the lack of AC.

Very disappointing. Booked as a Millennium member. To get to our 8th floor room required two separate lifts and a walk though the dining/bar area. Scuff marks and dings everywhere. Piles of dirty laundry bags still sitting in the lift areas at 2pm. The room itself was very basic and very tired. Cheap motel vibe. Bathroom tiny. A kettle and not much else. No mini bar. The iron leaked everywhere and had to be abandoned. On return to our room that evening the room was way too warm. By midnight we were frantically looking for the air con. There is no air con. Ended up having to open the sliding doors to the May night chill and turn on the freestanding fan (which then clacked all night) to try to cool the room down. Couldn’t wait to leave and won’t be back.

Yelp
The one 80 restaurant in this hotel is excellent. The food preparation is hard to beat. We have had venison, salmon, lamb, and a host of sea foods. The deserts are to die for, baked Alaskan, and a host of Wonderful sweets, cookies and ice cream. Service is a little bit slow, because they take the extra time for preparation. It's not the most decorated restaurant, actually pretty plain as far as the layout And setting, it does have a view o the bay. Looking for dinner that is truly wonderful stop by.

Yelp
I can only speak about the breakfast buffet, which was really grim. Watery eggs, cold sausage, lifeless, fruit, and a coffee urn that was not tended to very frequently. For.$35 this was largely a terrible deal. I did manage to get the bacon when it was hot as well as the mushrooms so they were edible, but everything else was pretty atrocious, including the lack of service. They are clearly in need of more staff, and especially training them on how to do their jobs

Yelp
Stayed here for two nights end of February 2024. Good location. Access to decent gym down the street. We liked the division for both beds separated by a bathroom.

Yelp
Location was good but hotel itself is lacking. In need of some serious updating. Carpet smells, mold in bathroom....

Yelp
We stayed here for a couple nights on our trip and there were some positives and negatives. The location is overlooking the harbor and many rooms have a beautiful view. The room itself was very nice with a lot of space and everything was new and clean. Bathroom was spacious and had a great shower. The beds were very comfortable and it was quiet and easy to enjoy a good nights sleep. We went upstairs to the lounge to grab a drink and I imagine that during the day it's a beautiful view as you are surrounded with windows. At night there is not much that you could see, but the lounge was nice and the drink was mixed well. It is a pretty pricey stay, but you don't get many amenities. Wifi was additional and had to be renewed which was annoying and expensive. The other thing, is the front desk staff wasn't super friendly to us any of the days we were there. Overall it's a visually impressive hotel and though pricey, a pretty comfortable stay.

Yelp
Our stay was very comfortable. The staff was very kind and attentive to our needs. The room was spacious, clean and had a nice view of the bay. Very close to the museum and wharf area. You can walk everywhere easily and there is a supermarket just down the street. Great coffee shop next door. Would happily stay again. Thank you

Yelp
We chose this hotel to stay at because it was located fairly close to where we were to catch the Interisland Ferry. It has all the basics; nice, clean, etc., but nothing special that set it apart. I did have a problem that they don't offer free Wifi - what's with that? Even Holiday Parks offer free Wifi now! Also, the parking situation was really weird. I don't think I figured out how they did it, but it was a good thing we valeted our car and didn't need to go out again that night. Another issue is the credit card fee they charge. Really? Who does that? And a real problem I had was that the location was away from any good restaurants, which forced us to pay premium prices at theirs. Next trip to NZ, we will stay at a Top 10 Park and skip the hotel!

Yelp
You know you've found someplace special if the local residents come here for special occasions! The food is amazing and we loved talking to the chef to compliment him each evening for more amazing dishes. This chef and restaurant have won several Wellington Culinary Fare Awards throughout the years. This is a "view to dine for" that you shouldn't miss. Staff are really friendly and helpful and you really can't beat the views from this vantage point. This is the perfect ambiance to enjoy an elegant mean, or a wonderful breakfast buffet - yummy!
