The service was great the guy was super nice! The inside was so nice and vintage it was cool looking at all the stuff in there. The Menu was super easy to read! I ordered 2 pork hot links which was super good they were big and cooked just like I like mines. I also ordered the 2 piece fried chicken leg and thigh with rice and gravy and collard greens and cornbread and banana pudding and red kool-aid! When I say the skin of the chicken was crispy 😋 the collard greens were seasoned just right the gravy also had flavor too and the cornbread was sweet just like I like it. The kool-aid was just the right amount of sweetness for my taste. Banana pudding was good almost like my grandmas!! I'm a southern women and when I tell you this right here hit the spot A++!! Most definitely will be back!! My friend ordered the fried catfish, collard greens, rice and gravy, peach cobbler, and cornbread.

I do not understand how this place has a lower rating. The food is incredible, the service is amazing, and the atmosphere is straight out of the South. It is exactly what you should expect from the name and advertising. They have taken the look and taste straight from Alabama and put it on Colfax. This is true Southern cooking! As someone born and raised in the South, this place really does remind me of home. Don't expect it to be fast, they take their time like most Southern places and get it right.

Good service. We came in for lunch. I had the catfish sandwich and collard greens and my kids split a burger and fries. Burger was good enough to split. Catfish and collards were breaded and cooked well but could have been seasoned a little more. I tried a bite of the burger and that was delicious. The sweet tea was so good. Definitely reminded me of home. I would stop by again if I was in the area but I did want a little more.

Google
Food was pretty good. Southern food is tricky because there are a lot of family recipes, not just one way to cook it. Overall this place is good. The sweet tea was good.

Google
The peach cobbler 4/5 yum! Yams 4.1/5 very good Hush puppies 5/5 very delicious the breading taste like Funyuns to me! I love that lol Mac and cheese-4/5 creamy yummy goodness Chicken 3/5 chicken was actually very good but it wasn’t fresh but still very tasty . Over all experience 5/5 I like the food and the service was great, this place isn’t far from work so I am fond of that. I’ll definitely be back for more and when my family comes in from out of state I’ll be taking them here. Oh shout out to destiny very polite and nice!

It was nice to have some southern cooking while we are in Denver. We arrived at around 4pm. We were seated immediately. There was only 1 other couple there, so it wasn't crowded at all. Our server was very polite and our food was cooked fresh

Not so bad, I’m a have2 try em out again. I had a smothered pork chops plate It was not so bad & I’d do it again. Sweet tea ☕️ was Bomb 💣 Kool aid was not so swell but I like mine sweeter. I’m looking 👀 forward to trying a few different items on the menu and I’m a tap back in with my review status. Let me know what you think 🤔 And as always, check em out if you’re ever in the neighborhood and holla at a Playa 👌🏾

Went because it was black owned. Easy to find. This is their new location. Wasn't busy around 230pm. When you walk in there's an old school ice box with desserts. It's designed to make you feel like you're at your grandmother's house. Lots of old furniture and pictures. The owner was featured by the famous restauranteaur Guy. I ordered the smothered pork chop, cabbage greens rice and gravy and hush puppies. My gravy was scorched, my cabbage greens had no seasoning and my peach cobbler was not sweet. The waiter did not inform me that I had to pay extra for ice cream LOL and for my to-go cup of red Kool-Aid. Poor guy was the cashier and the waiter. Didn't take long for my food to come out. Wouldn't have to go back again unless I had to.

Yelp
I hadn't been to CoraFaye's since two locations ago, when they were on Colorado Boulevard, and when a group of friends planned to have lunch, I was hesitant because of the mediocre reviews I saw. But our experience was nothing but excellent! The outside is an old Denny's or something, but inside it's like Grandma's house--comfortable tables, plenty of space, cozy but not too cluttered. Everyone working was so friendly, and everyone loved their food. I had the fried catfish with hush puppies, fried okra and mixed greens (collards and cabbage with some pieces of bacon in there too). The hush puppies are small, which is great because the outside doesn't have to be fried to death for the inside to be cooked; nice and flavorful, too. The okra was battered and fried to perfection -- again, no burned or greasy taste. The breading on the catfish was tasty too. Two friends got the chicken breast, which was HUGE! Enough for another meal. One friend got the mixed greens and sausage "soul bowl" and ate every bite. We had a crabby 3-year-old with us (fell asleep in the car and didn't appreciate being awakened), and they treated her so sweetly too. Thank you, CoraFaye's, for blowing my expectations out of the water!

Yelp
While getting ready to see Chris Brown in Denver, CO, we had to get a fulfilling meal since we were craving some comfort food. CoraFaye's gave us exactly what was shown on the menu- big portions too & got it delivered right to our hotel door-front! Fresh & crispy fish. We should've ordered some dessert, but didn't want to be overstuffed for the concert! Must try!

Yelp
A place I will come back to. It's got a nice, unpretentious vibe. The staff? Super friendly. They make you feel at home. And the food? It's good! You won't be blown away, but you'll definitely leave satisfied. Solid spot for a casual meal. The chicken has flavor and was quite tasty. The banana pudding was good as well as the sides.
google avatar

Jailyn J.

Yelp
This place has pretty good soul food. The fish could have been a little juicier, but overall it was pretty tasty. The service was great and it was a nice vibe in the restaurant. If you don't know what to order, ask the servers, they have good insight

Yelp
I was looking for good Southern food while I was in town for work and thought I'd give CoraFayes a try. I really did not enjoy the chicken I had. Just did not have the flavor I was like looking for. Maybe it was an off day. Maybe not. Maybe I'm just spoiled being from the South. Nah, good food shouldn't be regional. Sorry CoraFaye.
google avatar

Yelp
The food is alright. My daughter's chicken is pink in the inside and fried crispy on the outside. The cornbread isn't edible at all. It's expensive for the portion size or I'm spoiled being from the Motor City because the portion sizes at home match the price tag. The lady who took my order was nice but the restaurant was empty. The place is antiquated and smells a bit old. I almost didn't order because of the smell, but I'll try almost any place once given it had decent reviews in the last 4 months. I'm giving this place a 2* for effort!

Yelp
The best things I can say about this place is that the staff is friendly with a good attitude and the food is edible. Everything else seemed very wrong. We were a party of 4 visiting for lunch. There were a few tables of people already seated. When we were seated, 2 parties were leaving. It took about 5 minutes before they took our drink order. After we were seated, about 3 more parties arrived. The same server we had decided to take two of their orders first even though we were ready and waiting. While we waited for food, all 3 other parties that came in after us received their food orders before us. By the time we got our food, we had been sitting in that 1/3 full restaurant for over an hour. Portions were meager, prices were incredibly high, food was COLD, entrees were all overcooked, sauces were clearly from a can or a jar. The only bit of food that I actually enjoyed were the collard greens, but even that, I've had better at plenty of other places. They really ought to serve their food on much smaller plates because it looks really sad when your food only covers about 1/2 of the plate and you have all that extra space for sauce to run all over. I ordered smothered pork chops and sweet tea and my bill comes out to $22-$23. I don't know what else to say other than this had to be one of the worst dining experiences I had in Denver in a very long time. On the bright side, at least I did not get food poisoning, and I did not feel physically threatened by the staff.

Yelp
The older Caucasian lady who was there on Friday, 1/19/24 is not a good fit. She asked me to see my ID when I used my card on a $35 purchase. She had the nerve to say that she doesn't check the ID of the "regulars" but told me ( the only black person in there that night) fraud is going around so that's why she's checking. I came in from California that night and no restaurant has ever checked my ID. And, I wouldn't commit fraud on some food mame. Furthermore, if you are going to check ID, check everyone's or no ones. Not fair. They were out of peach cobbler and no more cornbread at 5:00 PM. Smothered chicken was okay. I called back twice to speak to the owner. Conveniently, no answer all of a sudden and no call back. I support black businesses but that lady has to go. I didn't mention that she walked right past me to check on the white customers sitting down.

Yelp
Outstanding Fried catfish is the best. Pinto beans w rice & fried okra..... you can't beat this!!!
google avatar

Sheryl E.

Yelp
I should have known from the lack of cars on Friday night. I feel cheated cuz some of the reviews were good. Place was COLD but to give them credit it had been hot earlier in day. I ordered catfish filet that came with 2 sides. The presentation was nice. I selected greens and fried okra. It also came with cornbread muffin and a teaspoon or 1/2 teaspoons on fake butter. The butter taste was "off" not rancid but fake taste. The fish was not filleted but more chunky. It tasted over cooked, and plastic. Greens had no seasoning but was flavored with Turkey meat. The only thing really edible was the fried okra but was like less than half cup. One thing bothered me was the old catsup bottles. I sense the refill them, however there comes a point time to replace old ones. Also the young server was nice. Polite. I feel hubby and I wasted $35. Won't be going back. Really disappointing. I wanted to like it.

Christine R.

Yelp
The last I ate there the food was barely warm and the chicken extremely dry. Considering my daughter worked there a very short time, the "home-made" anything all came from Costco or Sam's Club so it wasn't anything worth the price. And I was surprised considering the reviews. I would not go back here. There was no one there when I went. I was the only customer so that shows the how busy they got. Not worth the time or money. *To the business manager, back then yes I did. I talked to Cora and she was very nice. It's still a shame that the food was not home made. Sorry but you were not there then.

Yelp
I don't understand the poor reviews. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch visit. the food was decent and the owner even came out to check on us. Service was friendly, overall, I would support this local business again.

Yelp
I TRIED THIS RESTAURANT OUT FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME 2-29-2024 ! CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS DECENT (if it was busy which it wasn't) FOOD BIG DISAPPOINTMENT ! Mac-n-cheese tasted burnt fried fish was good and the sweet potatoes was good also asked for chicken thigh with gravy over rice the chicken was a chicken strip and not a chicken thigh and the gravy had no flavor the cornbread was dry pleaseee don't get me started on peach cobbler - I don't know what that was but it wasn't peach cobbler and I didn't even bother eating it after a taste test I support black businesses but the cook needs to get out the kitchen because the cooking is majority nasty and it's very disrespectful to bring me Mac-n-cheese that Taste burnt ruined my whole mood and why would you bring out chicken strips if I ordered chicken thighs .. yall need yall southern and black card taken

Yelp
So mad we did not go here sooner! Soooo good!! Literally everything was fantastic and tasted like home. The service was great. The welcoming atmosphere was perfect. We had the pork chops, fried okra, mashed potatoes and gravy with hush puppies and peach cobbler for dessert! Can't wait to go back! Don't miss out on this place! Thank you guys so much!!

Yelp
This restaurant needs to be shut down .... There's a deaf cook according to one of the old workers . The floors are filthy there's only about 3 waitresses and I've also heard of moths in the ice and roaches in the front of the store as well as the bathroom.... The health department needs to check this place out ..... Not only that the food is horrible.... My macaroni and cheese was watered down... as if they put water in the cheese ... there was a hair in the meat of my friend burger and Ms corafaye had horrible service . My chicken was over undercooked while my okra was over cooked when I traded the okra for rice and gravy it took 15 mins and the rice was hard and was still obligated to pay for everything. I will be sending the health department asap I will be taking pictures of the place as well

Yelp
Located in a former Village Inn off Colfax and Chambers North East Corner. The first time I ate at this establishment was probably back in the 90's sometime. It was then located off Colorado Boulevard and like 28th. I worked and have lived in that neighborhood since a child. They never disappointed then and they do not disappoint now. I decided upon the whiting Dinner, with mac and Yams and greens (my favorite), my husband got fried pork chops with okra, and mac and cheese. We ate everything on our plates I think that says it all.

Yelp
I am Impressed !!! I never read any of the reviews before coming here . I just looked for soul food through Yelp and this was the first one that popped up . Firstly , this restaurant has Character as it was beautiful inside . I initially thought this was a chain restaurant simply because the outside looked like Denny's . But when you see their menu , you'd know right away that they are family owned . Their menu is just perfect size (not too big , not too small ) they have some specials on some occasions as well . As for the food , it was really good ! I was looking for catfish and the catfish here was perfectly seasoned ! I also like the chicken (although I may opt for just the traditional fried chicken next time ) . The greens it came were very fresh as well and the food overall was superb . The service was 5 stars . The gentleman who took care of me was really professional . I enjoyed my visit here today and I'll Be back for sure

Yelp
The restaurant was nicely decorated, the server was friendly and efficient. Some tables were blocked off for social distancing. The food was hit and miss. I ordered the whole catfish and added a fried drumstick because I wanted to try the fried chicken too. The coating on the catfish was crispy but salty. The chicken was fried perfectly but lack seasoning. The same was with the two sides. One was bland and one was too salty. If they can somehow get their seasoning more balanced, this would be a really good restaurant.
google avatar

Dyannah M.

Yelp
This was my first time ordering from this place. I ordered something completely different from my usual taste. I got the fried pork chops, rice and gravy, okra and the greens with turkey. I'm a Southern girl so I definitely know flavor over all the cooking was good. The texture of the meat was nice and not overly dry although I wish there was an option for gravy on the chop. My overall preference is more seasoning and flavor but I have truly Fried come to realize that lack of flavor is an overall Colorado thing so I won't put it on this restaurant personally. Upon using my own seasoning it was all very tasty. I also would have liked a dessert menu (can't have soul food without dessert lol) The portions were a bit skimpy too, I love okra but it was a pretty skimpy portion wise but tasty overall. I will definitely order from here again.

Yelp
Really good soul food for the Denver area. Sweet potatoes and corn bread to die for. Oxtails we're great after warmed them up in our hotel. Macaroni yummy.

Marc S.

Yelp
I was at their location years ago and when it closed, I thought there was no Cora Faye's. Happily I saw it in Aurora and immediately went there for dinner. Being a renovated Village Inn, you would never imagine how elegant and beautiful the inside could be. Antiques, personal items and mementoes of famous people who dined there line the walls. I wish I would have taken more time to look at everything. Next time, I suppose. Next the service, and thoughtful and personable. The manager introduced himself and we had a good talk about the history the restaurant. Than the food. We couldn't wait to have the fried catfish, which was wonderful BTW, to the haters, we have southern credentials, and this food is the real deal. The greens were to die for. The mac and cheese, in particular, was made the right way with sharp cheddar. The fried okra was fun and the cornbread delightful. The purple Kool-aid was a kick. We cannot wait to go back.

Yelp
Beautiful interior, u can tell there's a lot of love and effort into making this place look so homey with the family pics and such. Was greeted as I came inside and was seated right away. The service was excellent, the young man taking the orders and running out the food did a great job answering questions and also throwing in some family history as far as the food goes. Got the two piece dark with yams and pan fried cabbage as the sides and a half n half tea. Tea came out in a nice big Mason jar just like I do at home. Food was mixed. The chicken leg was cooked perfectly, the thigh was inedible it was so over cooked. The yams were also inedible, they tasted like chewing on a cinnamon stick, VERY over seasoned. Now normally u would NEVER catch James eating cabbage but I hadn't heard of pan fried cabbage so I had to try it. My server said it's a 100+ year old recipe and it shows because it was phenomenal! Overall def worth a stop and if I'm in the area I'll come back and try some of their other items!
google avatar

Veronica S.

Yelp
Been in the area for the the last week...No veggies on any menus from resort to downtown Denver. A manager at another restaurant referred us to this for good soul food. Dale didn't lie. We were all satisfied

Yelp
Utterly disheartened!!! Only way to describe my inaugural experience here. I'm always in the search for somebody's southern style cooking. So when I found CoraFaye's Cafe on Yelp, I can't tell you how happy I was to come here. MY MEAL: I ordered the chicken plate which came with two thighs and a wing, my sides was rice and gravy, and cabbage. I elected to get hush puppies for my bread of choice. The chicken was crispy golden brown, flavorful, and juicy. The rice was tender and gravy was nicely seasoned. I think it either had chicken or Turkey meat in it. Nice added surprise. The cabbage still had a bit of a crunch but came out soupy . It was seasoned well. The hush puppies were crispy, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. PROS: The ambiance was low light, intimate, with smooth jazz in the background. Service was quick. Had drinks in less than 5 minutes of sitting down, and food within 20-30 minutes. Perfectly sweetened purple kool-aid Clean restroom CONS: A BIG MAJOR for me...I felt sick after eating. Normally a indicator that something I ate was bad/not sitting well in my stomach. Flying bugs on and around the light of my table. For it to be a new location it has smell upon walking in/up to the the restaurant and the floors are grimy. CONCLUSION: My enthusiasm for the cafe was curb by "CONS" listed. Though the food was good, I don't like the feeling of nausea after eating something/somewhere. So I doubt I'll ever come back as I don't give second chances to actually get sick.

Yelp
Five stars for the yams, the greens, and the fried chicken! Friendly service. Not a fan of the cornbread -- too sweet for my taste.
google avatar

Dana S.

Yelp
I gave it two stars because the server was awesome, but the food was a no for me. Had to send my tea back as something foreign was floating in it...no biggie. it happens! I had the fried chicken pork chop combo with Mac and cabbage. The pork chop was so dry I couldn't eat it. Both the pork chop and chicken appeared to have been previously cooked and sitting under a hot lamp to keep warm. Nothing was seasoned and the creamy Mac and cheese was anything but creamy...it was runny...and again not seasoned. Everything was lukewarm including the hush puppies. My friend had the cat fish and seemed to love it. Don't know if they were having an off day but it was not worth $53 for lunch!!!

Vicki A.

Yelp
Stopped by CoraFaye's for Sunday lunch & am glad we did! Delicious catfish and sides (collard greens, pinto beans and Mac 'n cheese). Great peach cobbler for dessert! Friendly staff & interesting decor. Recommend!
google avatar

Hugh M.

Yelp
Having spent lots of time in Alabama, we had lunch here and it did not disappoint! Our server (Destany) was super friendly and super quick. The catfish sandwich was the best sandwich I have ever had. My son said his fried chicken was phenomenal. Portions were huge, cost was very reasonable.

Yelp
We drove from Thornton because I've been wanting to try this place for years. Saturday late afternoon, restaurant wasn't packed but there were a few people eating. Once we were seated it took about 20 minutes to get our tea. We waited another 40 minutes for our food and noticed others being served before us even though they came in and ordered after us. Server came by to inform us "they're looking for your ticket" and walked away. We've been here for an hour. We don't receive an apology, an offer of bread or anything while we wait. We left without getting our food. Not gonna waste my time or money when it's clear no one cared. Disappointed.
google avatar

Desiare D.

Yelp
I really waited a while before I wrote this review, I wanted to see if I could find anything positive about my experience. Well the server was very nice and I could tell she was doing the best with what was given to her. I was with a party of 5 and the place was not packed, matter of fact there were maybe 5 other tables with people. I saw the menu and it had several items that at a glance were appealing to me. Everyone ordered something different so we could try each others food. I ordered the wings & waffles and one of my friends ordered something with wings also. The server came back and said "we are out of wings" So they have every other chicken part but not wings. Ok, I'll have thigh and waffles..a few minutes later she returns again to advise that the waffle make is not working. After changing my order to a chicken breast and piece of fish (tilapia) the wait began, we all waited almost 45 min for food. It got you the point we were getting ready to go. Food arrives and I was so disappointed, chicken was dry, fish was overcooked and even the Kool-aid was watered down. thumbs down.

Yelp
Prior to coming to Denver I did my research on who had the best what. CoraFaye's was at the top of the list for soul food, So I had to check it out for my self. I must admit from the time I walked in and saw the very homey decor I was excited to see if this was the best soul food in Denver. The menu left a lot to be desired but I'm a firm believer that less is more. I'd rather have a restaurant with fewer offering that are done right as supposed to a menu with an extensive bunch of mediocre dishes. Now to the good stuff: - The Kool Aid in the menu made my day. - The catfish was fried perfectly, well seasoned and crispy till the last bite. - The Service was impeccable, I felt like I was having dinner at grandma's house. - I really wanted to try the hush puppies, but the kitchen advised me (loosely translated) that they simply weren't that good today. - The cornbread muffin was the perfect compliment! The not so good stuff: - the mashed potatoes and gravy were just ok...nothing to do cartwheels over I'd definitely go back and I would definitely make it a point to get there earlier. Arriving after 630p left me unable to try the collard green egg roll.

Yelp
Coming for the South and seeing Cora Faye's I had to try it. I had fried chicken it was bland no seasoning at all. The beans were not good bland as well. The greens were meh didn't give fresh they were ok. The cashier seems overwhelmed, he got the order out. My mother had fish, beans, and greens. She liked the fish and beans. Seen this on Triple D maybe covid has a lot to do with the food and the service ?! Nothing to really write home about. Probably could of eaten better at the hospital

David O.

Yelp
Great lunch at Cora Faye's in Aurora. 4/1/2023. Frog legs, Catfish, collard greens and Blackeyed peas. All were awesome. Being from the south, it was a pleasant reminder of home.

Yelp
Soul food is a part of my upbringing so I'm a little picky. Everything was good in my take out order. Cornbread was a little dry for me but at least it wasn't hard. That's the only reason for 4 stars. I still recommend even in this time of change due to the pandemic. The menu is different than what you see online at the moment. Call ahead to order and use the menu from in-house.

Keith H.

Yelp
Honestly, from the reviews I didn't know what to expect!! Decor=Check, Fast attention= Check, Mason Jars for beverages=Check, quick order= Check. They ordered 1 filet with Potatoe salad and mashed and gravy=They liked it! Said Potatoe salad was perfect. I ordered 5 Butterfly w/ collards, and black eyed peas.... all very good! Portion sizes a little small side, but all good. We will be back!

Yelp
After all of these years I finally decided to try CoraFaye's. I am sad to say that I could have went my entire life without going. I am surprised that this establishment is still in business. I wonder how many people return. Anyway, the help wanted sign at the register is a definite must! Two people to greet, serve, and wait tables is not enough. I should have known that things were going to be bad when only one table had food when we walked in. Everyone else in the restaurant was waiting for food and looking extremely irritated. In fact, one family got sick of waiting so they left without getting their food. About 15 mins after they left, their food had finally come out. However, we stayed. To be on the safe side we both ordered a hot link dinner, thinking that it should be quick, right? Wrong! It took about 40 mins for us to get our hot links. Why so long? The sides aren't made to order. Oh speaking of sides, it was like nursing home food. We had greens, candied yams, macaroni and cheese, and "fried cabbage". I have never seen fried cabbage swimming in juice. Clearly they took a head of cabbage and put it in a hot to boil. No spices, no onion, no peppers, JUST CABBAGE. The greens were very bland, the yams tasted like baby food, and the macaroni and cheese was salty and had a weird texture to it. The hot link was okay, after all, it's hard to mess up a hot link. I had to ask twice for ketchup. And a refill on water was never offered even though my empty glass sat on the edge of the table. My water was the best tasting thing there. We wanted dessert but really couldn't bring ourselves to spend another penny there so we had to take a drive to Cheesecake Factory so that we'd know we wouldn't be disappointed. Disappointed is a great way to describe our experience. We'll never return.

Chris G.

Yelp
Waited forever (2 hours) and ultimately had to leave. A lot of other customers left too. They should just be honest about the wait so we could have made other arrangements. This is the second time we tried to eat here and had same results previously.

Stephanie C.

Yelp
OMG! I can't believe the service and food on a second visit was so below standard, 45 minutes for a take-out order is utterly ridiculous, and the quality was even worse. The catfish was old, or either freezer burn either way, gross. The skeleton of the fish had a very gooey look and feel. Wow, the black-eyed peas had a vinegary taste, and the rice with gravy was horrible. The gravy was unseasoned and had a jello like consistency. On Sundays, I like to treat myself to some soul food. I drive over an hour, from Longmont and visit soul food restaurants in the Denver Metro area. This truly was a waste of my time, gas and MONEY! Just a reminder this is my 2nd visit, first time was a side dish of collard greens, and potato salad only. Potato salad was kind of ok and the collard greens were very crunchy and had some weird seasonings. I tried to give it a second chance, never ever again. Refund me, please and thank you. I threw the entire entree in the TRASH!

Yelp
If you are a visitor in the Denver area, as we are, you can't do better than come here! From the beautiful homey decorations to the friendly service (including the delightful owner who came out to chat!), you get the feeling of being invited into a friend's home. Then come the large mason jars of cold Kool-aid or Coke, and large plates of perfectly cooked catfish, yams, greens, French fries, hush puppies, and crumbly, moist cornbread, and you have a real meal away from home. I love how everything was served on pretty plates. We didn't have dessert because we were so full! Maybe next time we are in the area. This restaurant is a gem! Please visit next time you are in Aurora.

Yelp
I was just having a bad day... I recently just moved to Aurora, CO Wanted some Authentic Soul food .... Came over to CoraFaye's not knowing I was about to find my New Fayvorite (Favorite -Lol-) Restaurant. I ordered the Peach cobbler, Frog Legs and the Po'Boy sandwich with mac&cheese +Mixed greens and the Sweet tea. The waiter was very friendly the service was quick the food came out hot and succulent it was beautiful to the eyes and smelled amazing!!!! everything tasted Like sheer Brilliance!!! The only thing that I would say needs improvement was the fact the Po'Boy was on a hotdog bun... which I Believe took away from the excellency of the fried shrimp and sauce ...Mind you the shrimp was cooked to perfection. The Frog legs were also lightly Fried to perfection.... Very clean tasting!! I must tell you that the peach cobbler was so Delicious; it made me cry , it was perfectly created ...it made me feel like my grandma is in the back kitchen and I wanted to go check and ensure my * Grandma Terry wasn't back there!!! I've never had a restaurant give me that type of experience before in my life definitely be returning on multiple occasions was one of the best meals I've had in a long long time. Definitely food for your soul I had a soul'gasim and cried happy tears. I'm gonna try it all!!!!

Yelp
Garbage don't waste your time or money. Cold food and unseasoned sauces and gravy seem to be from jars I don't know how this place stays open... no one is ever here.

Yelp
I was in Denver and surprised yo find a place that made good southern food! My son works near there so he was really glad to find food like he was used to from the South!

Yelp
I'm a returning customer for a few years. I ordered pickup on Uber. waited more than 1 hour to get my order (2pieces of chicken, black eyed peas, okra). in that time watched 7 people walk out before ordering. as much as I love the chicken, the black eyed peas were too salty and couldn't eat. I orverheard one of the servers (which there might have only been 3-4 people working the entire restaurant) tell a customer they were short staffed. I was always taught, do a job well done....in this case, they should have closed instead of pretending to really serving customers.

Yelp
My mom can cook some pretty yummy southern food and we drive by CoraFaye's all of the time, so after a day of shopping we stopped in! We ordered the meatloaf special, fried okra, mashed potatoes, cornbread, purple koolaid and peach cobbler for dessert! The place was understaffed, but the young man, who was covering basically every job, was keeping up! The kitchen was slow, but it was worth the wait. The meatloaf was moist, mashed potatoes creamy, okra just ok, cornbread just ok, purple (grape) koolaid refreshing and the peach cobbler was out of this world! As I write this I am not sure if the establishment is still open, but I hope they made it during Covid times, there was a whole lot of southern lovin' in that cookin'!

Yelp
I was so curious about this restaurant from a reference given by a really good friend. I was skeptical about a soul food restaurant in Denver, but now that I've eaten here, I will absolutely be back! I'm mad that I didn't take a picture of my plated food! I'm Mississippi born and bread and CoraFaye's Cafe has my stamp of approval! I will be spreading the word starting with this one.

Yelp
My friend and I arrived to Denver late in the evening and craving some southern cooking. We found this place and decided to try it out and I'm glad we did. It was around 4:30 in the evening and the place was empty so I was kinda wary but then I also saw that the place had been on Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives so my faith was quickly restored. The waitress was really nice and attentive. They had a good selection of sides (including mashed potatoes which a lot of chicken mom and pop places don't carry). The chicken was juicy and you could tell the mashed potatoes were real and not from the box. They ran out of mac and cheese when we arrived, so I couldn't try that but I did have the potato salad which was really good. Nice place. The atmosphere is unique and homey. Looks like you could host an open Mic night there too.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch with my son. I was disappointed with my plate. The chicken breast was so dry I could barely chew it. The black eyed peas were too salty, Mac and cheese was undercooked. Sadly, even the cornbread and hush puppies were nothing more than ok. My son liked his shrimp Po Boy-even with the tails on the shrimp. Definitely not worth $40+.
