If you are looking for a true luxury getaway escape along the Mozambican shores , then do not go further than Coral Lodge. I and my colleagues from Crafted Africa did a site inspection while on our Mozambique familiarization tour. We were picked up from Ilha de Mozambique 🇲🇿 by boat and sailed across the ocean to the stunning shores of the ocean where the lodge is located. On arrival, we were greeted by the a charming team of staff who gave us a detailed tour of the whole lodge. The rooms are so clean and roomy with both hot and cold shower. They are built on raised decks with beautiful views across the ocean. ||The food is delicious and thanks to the chef for a detailed explanation of the menu. I’m the afternoon we enjoyed activities such as kayaks and paddle boarding along the lagoon which was a wonderful experience. I can’t wait to come back to Coral Lodge with my family hopefully soon. I highly recommend

Went with family to chill on the beach and have a few drinks for an afternoon. Great views, fantastic location. Swimming pool. Enquired about the accommodation but very expensive @ $205 per person per night. Out of our budget unfortunately as it would be a great place to stay.

We stayed for 3 nights in an ocean facing family villa. Was a wonderful room that our children loved and we did too. The beds were comfortable and all we needed was there. Sitting on the front deck watching the wonderful tides and colors was lovely. Beto and his team made sure everything and everyone were happy. They set up a meal on the beach, one by the pool and another under a gorgeous tree with a fire. The food was consistently amazing. The cocktails and wines available were great. The grounds are gorgeous to walk around. We kayaked around the mangrove. The boat transfer to/from Ilha is an experience one will remember forever. Coral Lodge is simply wonderful, and the part of Mozambique it is situated on us breathtaking. We can not recommend it enough, and we can’t wait to go back!

Coral Lodge is a true gem of a place. We flew by private plane to Lumbo, the Coral Lodge arranged our transfer by road and boat to their amazing lodge.|The beach chalets offer awesome views and direct beach access. They are equipped with everything and more than you need and in immaculate condition. |Staff, service and hospitality are consistently great from arrival to departure. We would have loved to stay longer. A return is already penciled in for next year.

I stayed 4 nights at Coral lodge and it was a spectacular experience! I would definitely come back to this beautiful place, and next time, I would make my stay longer! The staff are very welcoming and hospitable; the food is amazing (they serve very generous portions), you get a breath-taking view of the ocean and the lagoon; and above all, they have many activities (my personal favourite was Canoeing, the staff even taught me to Canoe!).||||I went during the whale season, and it was a magnificent and memorable experience. Though I travelled alone, a few of the staff accompanied me on the boat trip to see the whales, so it made me feel comfortable, and safe as well. I highly recommend this place for solo travellers like me, who at times want to disconnect from everything around to connect with nature. I did Canoeing in the lagoon almost every day, it was a peaceful experience; and when you canoe through the mangroves, you could see the lagoon fish from the surface, and you also see birds and monkeys at times. Then on your return trip, you could see the beautiful sunset. ||||The visit to Cabeceira village was one of the most touching experiences for me. It was nice to know that most of the staff working at the lodge are in fact employed from this little village, thereby supporting the local community there. I even learnt that the bread that is served at the lodge is sourced from a baker in this village. During my village walk I even managed to see where some of the staff lived in this little village and encountered some of them there. If I had stayed longer, I would have definitely gone back again to spend more time with the community in this village.||||I also watched the sunset under the famous baobab tree. The team takes you on a little walk to watch the sunset and packs some snacks and a drink. To get there, you need to cross the lagoon from a Canoe, if it is during high tide (and I was all excited for any number of Canoe rides).||||The lodge is located minutes away from Ilha da Moçambique, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and you can also ask the lodge to organise a visit there. The lodge has about 10 villas in total, and if you get the beach villas, you could see the dhows sailings on the turquoise waters from your villa. There are 47 staff in total, so you can imagine the level of care and attention every guest gets, and the standard of quality they maintain. I most definitely felt pampered, and everything was planned with much attention to detail.

I am not one to typically write reviews, but my stay at Coral Lodge was so beyond amazing that I feel inclined to write this. Not only was the location gorgeous, and the facilities & bungalows beautiful, and the food delicious, but what REALLY made my stay were the staff. I was alone at Coral Lodge for a mini-vacation during a work trip, and the staff were so friendly, welcoming, and generous. Would it be silly for one person to dine alone next to a bonfire on the beach? Of course! But they offered it nonetheless. Did they need to pack me a lunch the day I left because I'd be driving for hours back to Nampula? No! But they did. Staff taught me bao, and spoke to me about their families, and living in Mozambique. I feel touched to have met them and fortunate to have spent some time at Coral Lodge. I only wish I could have stayed longer!

Coral Lodge was such a great find. The lodge is set on a beautiful peninsula just of Ilha Mozambique, with the best of both worlds, a breathtaking beach one side and a stunning lagoon and marshland teh other. The rooms are luxurious with all the modern cons and beautiful views of the beach/ sunrise or lagoon/sunset. Riccardo and Filipa are a fantastic management couple and really care about their guests soo much and want them to have the best time. The boats/ kayaks and snorkelling equipment are all brand new and in fantastic condition, I was lucky to have great whale sightings too. The food is very tasty and complimented by a wonderful team of staff who always go the extra mile. Don't forget the in house tailer who is excellent…. love my new chitenje jacket!!
