Bottom line: My trip was fine, but I would not stay here again and I would not recommend it to a friend.
The resort itself was nice enough-- it was clean, seemed well maintained, was right on the water, etc. But the service was absolutely horrendous. I do not mean to bash the employees, because it really doesn't seem like it was their fault-- Miguel and Tony at the pool bar were great and were working very hard-- there was just not enough people working. It would take a literal hour to get a drink at the pool during happy hour or on the rooftop bar at night, and another 30 minutes to get your check. Not even exaggerating. The swim up bar was not open, presumably because there were not enough employees to service it. So anytime you wanted a drink you had to either get out of the pool to go to the bar, or scream across the resort to flag down one of the two people working. (P.S. If you think giving good tips will solve this problem for you, it won't!)
The resort offers an all inclusive option. This was extremely strange to me to have it optional, as I have only been to all-all-inclusive or not-all-inclusive. We made a last minute decision not to get the all-inclusive, and thank god we did. You do not even have the opportunity to get your money's worth, the service is so slow. This also creates some weird dynamic for service for people doing the all inclusive and people who are not. There are different menus at the restaurants for what is included and what is not-- both food and drink.
Apparently the timeshare harassment other reviews mention only comes if you are over 28 years old (idk why) and/or are staying for more than 3 nights. I was just visiting for a long weekend for a wedding, so I managed to escape that, but I did hear about it from others-- bait and switches on rooms and having to go to a timeshare presentation to get the "room upgrade" that you actually booked, or getting a discount on the all-inclusive package if you go to the timeshare presentation. I will say I had a "sunset view" room, which gave me a delightful view of a dirty alley. I suppose the sun does still set in dirty alleys, but that seems unfairly portrayed on the website.
Lastly, I will say that the resort is in a good location if you want to walk into town. That is not really my thing so I only ventured out once. I went to a good restaurant nearby. There are a million people trying to sell you something the second you step foot off the resort, but I think thats just part of the area.
Overall my time there was fine. This was my first time in Cabo and I would go back. I would definitely stay at a different resort though.
