I truly enjoyed my meal. The fish was seasoned just right. And the greens were on point! (Seasoned with turkey leg. I dont eat pork) My husband loved the chicken. And the yeast rolls were warm and soft. The service was awesome. And the price was reasonable.

Ok first. The name has changed to Corey's Southern Kitchen & Catering. Walked in and immediately greeted with a great individual (damn shame can't remember his name) but best positive greeting I've received in years. Had my cravings set on the hamburger steak, until I saw the chicken livers special. Now all those that can't stand chicken livers(Bye Felicia) if you're still here. Best chicken livers smothered in onion and gravy I've had in any restaurant setting. Got me a cold beer as I waited for my carryout. Was less than 10 minutes and piping hot will definitely be back to try something else..... Y'all giddy up. They got me on the first trip their

This was my first visit there. The staff was very nice and friendly. The food was great! There was plenty of room for the 20 of us and we didn't feel crowded. The service was somewhat slow. But I still enjoyed the food. If you like southern cooking I recommend Corey's.

Ordered a crab sandwich and a shrimp po'boy with Mac n' cheese. The mac n' cheese tasted delicious and the crab sandwich was made with real crab. It tastes good. The breading looked either over cooked or the oil needed to be changed. The boom boom sauce was tasty. Took our order to go. I'd definitely go back.

Great Soul Food restaurant 😋 with lots of homemade options! Don't discount this place just because it's connected to a hotel! The food is awesome! Fried Catfish 🐯🐟 Dinner was outstanding and the🐂 Liver and Onions🧅 , luscious! Even the Mashed Potatoes🥔 were freshly made! Sides were delish also, killer Collards🥬 , tasty Baked Beans (homemade too?). Not a fan of the Coleslaw, though, too rough of a chop and a thin semi-bland sauce. Don't let let anything deter your tasty dinner waiting for you at Corey's!! Fried Chicken looked wonderful, too! Will return to give you an update.... Back again - for the Catfish. Maybe Monday was not the cook's best day 😕. The fish was fried perfectly (but I question it being Catfish) and for whatever it was, tasty 😋! The French Fries were waaayy over cooked and the Coleslaw no better than before. Baked Beans were ok and the Potato Salad yummy! The best part of this meal was the 'Cathead' biscuit 😍 served warm while waiting for our order!

The Chicken is Boss. I had white meat and it was not dry. The Mac was on point and the collard greens were delicious. I am a very picky eater. I had flashbacks of my childhood. I know Wendy is smiling down on her son. Praying that God continues to bless him and his family.

Food was good and plenty and the service was excellent! It was a pleasure seeing my classmate Hope Bartlett as she was one of the owners and or employees here. We had a private room to ourselves. Tables and chairs were nice and black. The food on the buffet was served by 3 people. Ice tea and lemonade was on one table and desserts (pound cake and peach pie or cobbler) on another table. Someone came around to collect and or remove our plates after we were done. Y'all come and get you some of this! We had baked and fried chicken, green beans, roast beef, yeast rolls, yams, macaroni and cheese and mashed potatoes and gravy.

We did a family meet here and chose Corey's for pickup catering. Great decision! Food was delicious and well prepared! Staff were friendly and handled the pick up in a timely manner! We will most definitely use them again and look forward to enjoying their dine in restaurant while here! Thank you. Fried chicken was awesome and not greasy!

Food was outstanding. Diamond in the rough. A must for lunch dinner Service was equal to the food. We will be back

Everything on the menu is amazing. I had fried chicken, potato salad, cabbage and a biscuit. I had a pork chop sandwich which was on a butter bun. I took the pork chop off the bun and just ate the bun with the chicken. . Drinks are just right!! 10 out of 10. Waiter/host is nice and friendly. Even brought my food to my car while i was waiting.

I'd pretty much given up on eating fried chicken years ago --the last time I ate good fried chicken was as a kid in an Amish restaurant; since then it's been a few times at Popeyes or KFC. But for some reason my family was really craving it so we tried Corey's. Outstanding fried chicken! Juicy and crispy and flavorful. I'm not a gnawing on bones, greasy fingers type person with any food, but I did that with this chicken. The Mac and cheese side and biscuits are outstanding too. It's a nice clean environment and everyone who works there is super friendly. We have eaten there three times in two months and we are now regulars. I can't say anything about the other food but if you want fried chicken you will love it!

We were looking for a quick lunch after shopping at the outlets and are so glad we chose Corey's Chicken Shack. Everyone we interacted with were so kind and the food is beyond amazing. It reminded me of the food we had during Sunday family dinners with all the family sitting at the dining room table at home. We had the white chicken platter and the seafood platter - both came with two sides and a really delicious biscuit. We chose the Mac & cheese/potato salad (that tasted exactly like my moms)/collards/green beans. It's connected to a hotel so there's plenty of parking. It's not a fancy place but when the food is that good, you don't have to be fancy! We will def be stopping by every time we are in Williamsburg.

In a town where I have been largely underwhelmed by overpriced mediocre/bad food, this place stood out for delicious, very reasonably priced fried chicken. For a family of 4, a full dinner was around $50 with a lot of leftovers. The chicken, corn pudding, and collared greens were all great and served steaming hot and fresh. The chicken was probably one of the best pieces of fried chicken that I've had - very crispy, well seasoned, moist, and not oily (if it has been more spicy, it would have been perfect). The corn pudding was like a sweet bread pudding with corn bits (the taste is reminiscent of Vietnamese corn-based puddings), and the collared greens were phenomenal - tangy, meaty, well-seasoned. We didn't like the mashed potatoes, and the yams were fine, but I prefer mashed yams, I suppose. We ended the meal with a delicious slice of sweet potato pie that was again one of the best I've encountered. Sweet and creamy (maybe with condensed milk).

Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner!!! Okay I had to do it! But in all seriousness it really was some juicy crunchy chicken and yummy sides! Here is the breakdown of what we ordered: The 8 piece chicken dinner which comes with two large sides and 4 rolls. Chicken came out piping hot and instead of 4 rolls we got two large biscuits, which were light and fluffy and also straight out of the oven! I'll take biscuits any day over rolls. The man who dropped them off to our table also included butter, jelly and honey. Perfect! The fried chicken was nice and juicy and a good seasoning on the crispy skin. Macaroni & cheese-very yummy and just the right amount of cheese for me. Coleslaw-very good! Potato salad-.good! They only offer lemonade, sweet tea and kool-aid. We had the lemonade and it was delicious. On the sweet side so be prepared. Will be back!

I never expected a little cafe inside a motel to be an excellent source for homestyle Southern cooking, but that's exactly what I found at Corey's Chicken Shack (inside a Rodeway Inn). I was raised in Memphis, Tennessee, on candied yams, collard greens, corn pudding, and fried chicken, and as soon as I took my first bite of Corey's collard greens, I was transported back to my hometown. The portions on my vegetable plate were so generous that I took enough home for another entire meal. The dessert display, alone, would be enough to bring me back-- bread pudding, sweet potato pie, double chocolate cake and more await my next visit. I plan to make that soon.

I'm not sure what to say really. My chicken tenders were cooked in an oven but had a good taste to them but probably would have been better if actually fried. Mac and cheese was lack luster. Not a fan of fries with old bay on them either. Kinda hidden area too,

The hospitality and friendliness of the owners and staff really in mind that your eating amongst your family on a Sunday afternoon. Food cooked fresh, and the brunch buffet? Breakfast food, and Pig feet, Fish, Turkey wings, pork chops, meat loaf, collards Mac & Cheese.....

Food was delicious! Placed a large order of chicken and potato salad for a family tailgate at William and Mary during football season. Food was ready and waiting for me to pick up-it was hot and fresh! Everyone at the tailgate raved over the food. Hoping to order again for this coming football season.

I almost missed out on eating at Corey's Chicken Shack this past weekend because I didn't realize that they've moved to a new and nicer location. As always, the food was absolutely scrumptious! I ordered the fried catfish to eat there and ordered their famous fried chicken to go. Both my fish and chicken were cooked and seasoned to perfection. The biscuit as well was very light, fluffy, and delicious. I promised Corey that I would write a review the moment I returned to North Carolina so his loyal customers will know that he's still in business. Please give this restaurant a try the next time you visit the Williamsburg area. You won't regret it!

We an to go back again. The food was good, but a little heavy on salt for the crab cakes. The manager/owner was very accommodating and allowed me to change my order when I informed him about the crab cakes. The food on the buffet was good, especially the Mac and Cheese (which tasted better than the entree version I had). I would recommend this establishment.

WOW!!! Unassuming little spot attached to a motel, but the food is full of flavor and is perfectly cooked! I ordered the 3 piece fried chicken (dark meat), with mashed potatoes and gravy, and Mac and cheese. They literally cooked the chicken fresh when I ordered it. Everything came out piping hot and needed no additional spices added. The sweet tea was definitely southern sweet, and the service was homey and phenomenal. Can't wait to come back to try the other options!!

Extremely delicious food. We had the kids tenders, kids cheeseburger, adult cheeseburger, pulled bbq sandwich, crab cake sandwich and sides (Mac n cheese, corn pudding, coleslaw, and collards). Everyone loved every bite. The lovely lady at the register was so kind and attentive. Love this place and would definitely come back if/when we are back in the area. Also had their biscuit and yummm!!! I wish I had taken pictures so you could see.

Always a great place to get your grub on. Service was great, and the place has sitting outside and perfect to chill.

We wanted soul food while visiting, so we stopped by here. We ordered the baked chicken meal, which was leftover chicken that you could taste was refrigerated and reheated...and was not edible because the meat was hard. Very disappointing. The mashed potatoes were good. The greens were also decent. The catfish was pretty good, along with the macaroni and cheese, my son would not eat the cabbage because it was very bland, so were the green beans. The smothered pork chop was over cooked... honestly we wanted to love this place, but we were very disappointed. I think that we possibly just came at the wrong time because we waited a while for our food, but our food did not tasted fresh. The potato salad was store bought potato salad. The biscuits were soggy, not sure if they were pre-wrapped in the aluminum foil. We spent over $60 here and we were disappointed. The young guy was very friendly when we arrived to place our order, but the woman at the front not so much.

Comfort food at its best! Adorable spot adjacent a hotel. Well maintained and clean. Ordered Fried Chicken with sides. Everything was deeeelicious! Looking forward to our next visit.

The family was on the search for good fried chicken in Williamsburg. Read quite a few great reviews on Corey's chicken. Went there for dinner, dining in. Place was empty, and was having some leaky roof issues. Wasn't leaking in the kitchen, so we decided to give it a shot. My daughter ordered the chicken tenders with cole slaw. I had to be difficult and I ordered a thigh and a breast, which seemed to cause some despair with the employee who took our order, seemed to work itself out. I had fries and green beans as my side items. Drinks were limited to sweet tea, lemonade, water and a juice. No fountain drinks available. The sweet tea was our choice and man, was it sweet. Phewee! They Brought out some biscuits and they were nice and warm and fluffy. Overall the chicken was good, unfortunately they overcooked my chicken breast, pretty tough to chew..I was dissappointed with but it tasted good and my sides were good. My daughter loved the chicken tenders and cole slaw. More than likely we might go back for a second try. Service was fantastic! Thank You

I would rather give my money to Corey's then to go across the street. The biscuits, the chicken, the greens, the string beans, and the macaroni and cheese are on the ONE I wanted to try the Kool-Aid, but I was scared Id be hooked.

First time visiting.. Food was cooked to order and was delicious.. She said I would return and she was correct!

Good chicken but a tiny bit dry. Sides are quite sweet and the Koolaid pours like syrup, but that's expected from a soul food place. Biscuits were awesome! Worth a shot if you love soul food. Stay away if you are diabetic.

We stopped by Corey's Chicken Shack yesterday for some good soul food. When we arrived the cashier was taking a large order, so another team member graciously asked to take our order to minimize our wait. A great start! The food was just as exceptional as the service. The thoroughly seasoned, cooked to order chicken came piping hot and homemade biscuits were scrumpt-licious PS..........and they're very reasonably priced!!!!

Small family run business with excellent fried chicken . We decided to check out this place for dinner and we were not disappointed. Chicken is fried fresh to order and is delicious . We ordered an 8 piece family dinner and it came with two sides . For sides we got corn pudding and potato salad and then ordered an additional small side of collards. Everything was so good . We really enjoyed it . My husband also ordered a small chicken gizzards and said they were awesome too ! Staff is very friendly too! Definitely recommend, you can't go wrong !

A little tough to find in their new location inside a small hotel, but worth the effort. Among the best fried chicken you will find anywhere, and their side dishes are outstanding too. But Yankees beware -- they cook vegetables the delicious way with plenty of pork to season them. If you want super-crisp green beans that are only slightly steamed, try somewhere else, but I will take Corey's version every time! (Also try his breakfast restaurant, Southern Pancake House just down the street). This man knows food.

It's been a while since I've been in Williamsburg. I was glad to know that Corey's was still around and doing good business. I ordered the catfish dinner. It was plentiful 2 pieces of fish and that dinner was fantastic. I'd highly recommend eating there anytime you're in Williamsburg.

Great chicken and sides! The chicken was perfectly seasoned for me, the Mac and cheese actually tasted like cheese, and the collards were really good. I am so glad a friend recommended Corey's to me or I would not have known about it. I will definitely be going back to try other things and will be ordering a bucket of chicken soon too! Really really good and the staff were super nice too. Thank you.

We called in a very large order for a family gathering, very last minute. However, they were more than willing to do the order and had it done in a very timely manner. We were greeted with outstanding service. Super friendly and helpful. The food was very good and portions were big. Everyone kept talking about how good the food was and asked where we got it. I highly recommend this place. If back in the area (we were visiting family), I will be coming back.

This place is everything you'd expect from a true southern down home soul food restaurant. The chicken is made to order, the sides are great. The new location is convenient. When I don't feel like cooking, I go to Corey's.

Ordered take out from here and our order was ready exactly on time when we arrived. The chicken was really good, it was juicy and crispy with great seasoning. I also enjoyed the side order of green beans and the fries, but the mac and cheese was really mushy and not very flavorful. Will definitely be trying their chicken again.

I would definitely recommend this business for a good southern meal. The fried chicken was outstanding! As for the sweet potato pie..... I'm ready for more:-) Amazing!

Was craving soul food and this place definitely hit the spot. Chicken was cooked to perfection. And their biscuits are HUGE!! They were so good and not dry at all.

The green beans and mashed potatoes were just OK. The chicken and gizzards were hot and seasoned to perfection. The wait time was on point. We will try the wingettes and shrimp the next time.

In a word, amazing. I got a catfish sandwich, my husband got the shrimp po-boy. Both sandwiches were huge, and perfectly cooked. The boom boom sauce was spot on. If you are on the fence, GO! The staff was friendly and super helpful.

Really good fried chicken joint. Not many soul food options here but this one is good. Seasoned fresh chicken and fish. Stuffs are good. Customer service is great as well. I'll be using this place as a regular when I want good fried chicken

Been driving by this place for a few months now and kept telling myself I needed to stop in, well tonight was the night. Best decision I've made in a long time. Being a girl born in North Carolina I get pretty picky about my soul food, once I bit into the food I was taken back home. I haven't had fried chicken this good since I was a child eating my grandpa's homemade friend chicken. So juicy and crispy, my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Even the sides were amazing, I think I ate more green beans than chicken. The gravy goes perfectly with their mashed potatoes. And that Mac and cheese takes me right to thanksgiving. Give this place a try, I can't stress this enough that you need to try it if you haven't! Call the family meal ahead and become the most favorite family member of the night

First time trying Coreys and we were not disappointed. We ordered 100 pieces and the family all raved about how the seasoning was on point. Order the collard greens and mashed potatoes, both very delicious choices. The catfish was soft and cooked to perfection and the chicken gizzards hit the spot. I would have no problem ordering again next time I visit Williamsburg Virginia

Ordered a family meal (8 piece, mashed potatoes, rice, & biscuits) & a 4 piece chicken tender meal Mac n Cheese, biscuit & mashed potato's. Service was extremely quick, efficient and everything was served extremely hot. Great food & highly recommend!

Just do it! Yummy, uncomplicated food that will make you feel warm inside. There is an authenticity to this place that is missing from all the chain restaurants. This was my first time, and I'll be back!

Chicken done right... and the price is right. We got 8 large pieces of fresh chicken fried to perfection, two fresh sides, and rolls for several dollars less than the national chains. Ok, so it is a good value. More importantly is the quality of the food. The chicken is perfectly cooked , moist meat and crispy coating. The sides are homemade and you can taste the quality of the preparation. Call ahead for take out because the chicken is made when order. If you eat in, planabout 10-15 minutes for the chicken. Eat local, it just tastes better when it is made with pride.

The food smelled good from the door, before you pay everyone has sense and are polite, after is like you are stranger to them. I ordered over $30 worth of food. My crab cake looked like a burnt crabby patty. My chicken looked like it was recooked. My food was incorrect. I waited an additional 10mins for them to cook my order they mixed up. So much for wanting near by soul food. My resort was a walk away. Waste of time. Wont be returning.

I placed an order on Saturday I showed up to pick up the food and there was almost nothing in the tray, after spending a substantial amount of money this food I expected more than two tiddlywinks of potato salad and one leaf of collard greens, when I asked why there wasn't as much in my tray as usual I was told you called up here 15 min before we close and expected to place a big order. No further explanation that was it...Y'all the ones that took my order if you couldn't fill it then why take it?

First time in. We had the 4 wings and 4 shrimp and the whiting dinner. Portions of meat were nice, flavor was excellent. Sides would've been amazing if they were hot instead of lukewarm. Service was good, overall a good experience.

By far the best wings I've had in Virginia!! It was fresh and everything had amazing flavor. The staff is polite and welcoming. 10/10

I knew this chicken was going to be off the chain when I saw kool-aid on the drink menu ... I can CONFIDENTLY say this is the absolute BEST fried chicken I've ever laid my mouth on.... BayBay... when i say seasoned to the BONE & fried to PERFECTION.. Lawd Hammercy.. Reasonably priced as well.. $19 for a family meal that feeds 4. I ordered the following: chicken, Mac & cheese, potatoes & gravy, rolls, beef liver & greenbeans. I must say... the Mac & cheese and potatoes & gravy were pretty basic, no special recipe or anything to write home about. I've also had much better beef liver. BUT... it's a chicken shack and they absolutely mastered their specialty. The green beans were delicious... larger portions on the individual sides would be nice. The rolls had a really good flavor.. hot & fresh from the oven, theyd be unbeatable. I had to warm them up a little but still very good & filling. Can we take a moment to appreciate the staff? Very nice & welcoming people. It was really like visiting with family. I enjoyed my meal. It was the only meal in Williamsburg that I had all weekend where I didn't feel like it was a waste. Will visit again!

Delicious food smells so good. Ordered sides the first time and made w smoke turkey greens and cabbage. 2nd visit ordered deserts vanilla, choc cake, and sweet potato pie OMG!! 3 visit we ordered chicken and fish very tasty.

The fried chicken is wonderful and the meal is reasonably priced. We have tried almost all of the sides and they are all great. The homemade biscuits are to die for. Can't wait to eat there again.
