Bella Mare Hotel, Near Kassiopi, Corfu - Explore & Book

"For the perfect beach retreat, you need a quiet but accessible corner of picturesque coast, spacious rooms with stylish interiors, an enormous pool among verdant lawns, and a dazzling beach with good restaurants. Few places have perfected this winning holiday formula quite as well as the Bella Mare Hotel.Situated in Corfu’s northeastern tip, at one end of a long, crescent-shaped beach, it gazes over shimmering sapphire-blue sea towards Albania. The 31 rooms are slick and tasteful, scattered across a rugged slope that rises from the beach. And the higher up you go, the more secluded it gets; rooms at the top even get their own private pool and bar. Adults will love the tranquillity and easy beach appeal; children will love the activities on offer at the kids' club. Lap up the sunshine during the day, paddleboard along the coast or charter a boat to discover northern Corfu’s hidden beaches, then return for a sundowner cocktail and totter over to a beachfront taverna for fresh seafood. Summer holiday sorted. Highs Tasteful and very stylish rooms, each with a private terrace and many with sea viewsThe setting: in one of Corfu’s most sought after locations and at the back of a long beach with tavernas and a watersports centreBrilliant for families, with family suites, a kids' club during school summer holidays and a children’s poolThe friendly and warm staff – there’s a concierge service run by English-speaking locals who go out of their way to ensure you get the most out of your tripThe food at the beach tavernas is delicious and their location couldn’t be more convenient for Bella Mare guests Lows Breakfast takes places in the lobby and most tables are indoors, which seems a real shame when there’s so much outside spaceThe beach isn't sandyYou’ll probably need a car to explore, though Kassiopi, the nearest town, is walkable (35 minutes)" - Lucy Richardson

First time in Corfu, first time with Simpsons travel, but I think we’ll be back to both.|The hotel is just beautiful, stunning setting on the quiet Avlaki Beach, just 30 min walk (5 mins in a car) to Kassiopi. |We had transfer with Simpsons rather than our own car, so were whisked in a nice cool car direct to the hotel, where Ruth , the concierge was waiting to greet us. Check in was quick and efficient, or bags taken up to our room. We had room 105, a nice corner room in the hotel it self, large bathroom, good sized corner balcony with pool and sea views , excellent bed ( not many hotel beds where I don’t get back ache after a couple of nights), plenty of water, fridge , coffee pod machine and kettle. |We slept so well each night, no sound from anywhere. We did cover the little temperature gauge on the AC unit as it was very bright in the dark, otherwise, just perfect.|Breakfast was excellent, really good choice, cereals, fresh fruit and yogurt, cooked breakfast, lovely lady making omelettes, lots of pastries and breads (they even had marmite for the Brits). They don’t do evening meals in the hotel, but the pool bar serves food until 6 pm. Food from there was also good, salads, club sandwiches, wraps etc.|There are 2 restaurants 5 minutes walk, one was busy each night, the other appeared empty. We walked to Kassiopi a few times and ate from the many restaurants there. The walk is lovely, once off the road you’re along small coves and olive trees then through villas into the town. The hotel can provide instructions.|We intended to hire a car for a couple of days to go to Corfu town, but then saw a boat trip from Kassiopi each morning at 9.30am, so did that instead. Good fun, no hassle with parking.|We also went to Elaion olive plantation , fascinating morning .|There are plenty of sun beds, either looking to sea or around the pool. You need beach shoes in the stoney beach. Didn’t go in the pool, but people were swimming there . The sea was gorgeous to swim in. Bring a snorkel |Lovely, peaceful hotel, excellent staff. Can’t wait to go back

My partner and I had a week at Bella Mare from 15th June. Having always gone to all inclusive hotels (and becoming tired of the breakfast/meal carnage) we opted for this hotel for a change. We were not disappointed whatsoever. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. The room was kept immaculate (thank you Dona) Ruth gave us support and guidance before we arrived. Two tavernas just a few minutes walk away. We chose to use the further one for 6 nights and enjoyed some fabulous meals. Breakfasts were lovely with attentive, smiley staff (Regi!) We hired a boat from Avlaki for three of the days and toured the stunning coastline. We cannot recommend Bruce and Toni highly enough - just next door for the boats. If you are looking for total relaxation without the classic bingos and karaoke bars then we highly recommend Bella Mare. In fact, we’ve already re-booked for September and cannot wait to see you all again. Thank you for a fabulous holiday x

Stayed here for 6 nights before going for a week on Paxos and then 1 night back here before flying home. The hotel is in a beautiful relaxing location and have the most amazing staff.||The rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable. The breakfast are delicious with the best omelettes and scrambled eggs we have ever had. (Thank you to the egg chef, Caroline)||We stayed the week before school half term and it was so relaxing and quiet.||There are 2 Tavernas within 5 minutes walk along the beach road and only a 10 minute taxi ride to Kasiopi for more choice. There is a lovely walk into Kasiopi along the beach and footpaths to avoid the road, but I would recommend a taxi back in the dark. The hotel also do a shuttle bus to 2 local villages in the evening for a small fee.||The Simpsons staff are the most helpful and caring hotel staff. |Please pass on our thanks to Gayle, Ruth, Lauren, Jo, Regi, Caroline and all the amazing staff for making our stay so nice. They all go above and beyond.|We will come back again. |Lynda and Mike

Walked into the grounds to check the hotel out for our holiday next year. Ordered food to then be told we couldn't eat there if wasn't staying there. Waitress asked if we were staying in a nearby villa amd when we told her no we were staying in sidari she said no... what difference does it make where you are staying. She would have allowed us to stay if we were staying in a villa nearby but as were were staying half hr away she refused to serve us.. the hotel looked lovely and we would have booked a few weeks there but the snobbery attitude put us right off. We won't be back.. it was very very quiet too compared to the excellent restaurant on the beach

We’ve just returned from a wonderful 7 night stay at this beautiful little hotel. Having travelled with Simpson Travel many times over the last 12 years, this is only the second time we’ve stayed in one of their hotels as we usually opt for a villa, but it did not disappoint in any way. ||We opted for an exclusive junior suite (401) which although is reached by a number of steps, is worth it for the amazing views. The room was extremely large and well furnished, had a spacious terrace with comfortable seating and sleek bathroom with double basin, huge shower and free standing bath. There was also ample wardrobe space, draws and shelving. Air con was ultra quiet and very effective. Exclusive rooms come with the added bonus of an additional shared infinity pool which was always quiet plus an honestly bar (closes at 7pm).||The main pool was beautiful with very comfy sun-beds and never felt crowded, despite there being a number of families staying (due to a kids club running in July/August). It was spotlessly clean and the surrounding gardens very pretty and extremely well maintained. We however preferred to sunbathe on the decked area overlooking the sea, which again had very comfy sun-beds and an amazing view - these were all taken relatively early and unfortunately towards the end of the week some new arrivals had placed 4 towels down before 07.45 but didn’t surface until after 10.30!! (disappointing but it happens everywhere…..)||The food and drinks at the pool bar are excellent and the staff are fantastic - always friendly and efficient and they genuinely seem to enjoy what they do. ||Breakfast was perfect and had a good selection of cereals, pastries, fruit, yoghurt and scrambled eggs, bacon etc ( not forgetting Caroline and her excellent made to order omelettes and friendly manner!). Everything was freshly prepared and constantly replenished and plates were cleared away quickly and efficiently. There were always a good number of staff on duty, all of whom were friendly and very helpful. ||There are a couple of tavernas within a two minutes walk from the hotel - both very good! You do have to book though at peak times! We heard them turning several people away on the evenings we ate there. This goes for most of the ‘popular’ restaurants in San Stephano and Kassiopi.||I can’t end the review without mentioning Ruth - she was on hand via email ahead of our stay helping to sort out gluten free lager for my husband and she was always on hand to help with any queries during our stay. She always had a smile and nothing ever seemed too much trouble.||In summary.. a beautiful little gem of a hotel in an idyllic spot with the friendliest staff! Go.. you won’t regret it!

Four senior citizens, not residents leaving Avlaki just after midday to walk back to KASSIOPI when the heat of the day started to take its toll. With a little hesitation we resorted to calling at the hotel reception to ask the staff if they would kindly call for a taxi. The response we received was immediate, invited into the reception to benefit from the air-con, given glasses of water with a telephone call to obtain a taxi. Due to poor reception unable to contact a taxi immediately so a member of staff stepped-in providing her own transport to drive us all back to our apartments. Need any more be said? No. However for those who might not fully appreciate the help, support and kindness extended to us we have to express our sincere gratitude to the three members of staff who did all that we could possibly expect. It will be no surprise to learn of our 5/5 review, the staff we met are a credit to Bella Mare hotel. Thank you!

Beautiful hotel and surroundings. We stayed for ten days in a junior suite and couldn't fault it. The staff were amazing and the breakfast was 10/10 (Caroline makes the best scrambled eggs I have ever eaten!). Lovely walk into Kassiopi through the woodland and along the beach.

We have recently returned from a five night stay at the Bella Mare Hotel, it was wonderful. We went to celebrate my husbands birthday and they pulled out all the stops to ensure we came home with fabulous memories. The hotel has 31 bedrooms and is situated on Avlaki Bay, its quietly understated and did not disappoint at all. It is the staff that make this Simpson Travel hotel a real gem. An assortment of delicious options are available at breakfast and between 11-7pm a lovely pool side bar is open for drinks and light meals. The hotel does not have a restaurant of an evening but there are two taverna's in walking distance and within a short drive you can explore nearby local villages with excellent restaurants and amazing sea views. If you are looking for a hotel with traditional values and genuine friendly service in the most beautiful bay then the Bella Mare will not disappoint.
