Our party of 4 enjoyed a winter stay in the 2 bedroom Royenrine Cottage, as well as some walks and a river cruise. All quiet, restful and fabulous, including the large BBQ facility. The Cottage was comfortable, clean, and sufficiently warm for the 2 degree nights. Staff had thoughtfully pre-heated it for our arrival and popped some pre-ordered meals in the fridge. Thanks guys. Our walks were varied, but the Whyte River walk was one of the best we have encountered anywhere in Tasmania. Our Arcadia II cruise with Matt & Gaye was just the best. Mirror glass smooth water, passionate commentary from Matt, great lunch packs to enjoy at Pieman Heads. Nice birds and wildlife including a seal in the river! It does take some getting used to no TV, no Internet, no Toaster, and perhaps some games and more books in the Cottages might help. Definitely a great nature break though and we will be back.

Our stay at Corinna Wilderness Retreat was fabulous . We stayed in a beautiful, private cottage with a lovely fire to keep us cosy and warm, looking out to the forest where pademelons nibbled on the grass outside. We walked many of the walking trails and went on both of the Pieman River cruises, the Sweetwater vessel to Lovers Falls and the Bob Boulter which replaced the Arcadia ll vessel to visit the Pieman River heads. The skipper, Tegan was absolutely brilliant. She found numerous bird and tree species along the river and gently took us closer, treating us to some really unique information and observations. Most days were finished with a stroll to the Tarkine Hotel for a wine and a chat with new friends. A special thank you to the amazing staff, Peter, Kirsi, Dylan and Tegan who went out of their way to make our stay extra special.

What makes this resort unique is its history and its remote wilderness location! We stayed in cabin 14 - Webster, a 2 bedroom, refurbished miner's cottage. It was certainly spacious, comfortable and homely. Everything was spotlessly clean. A detailed and comprehensive compendium of information was provided which gave some history, as well as instructions for the gas burner, kitchen protocols, restaurant, Fatman barge, and activities/walks in the area. Our cabin key had a torch attached which was very thoughtful! Being remote, there was no internet or TV. Lights were powered by the resort's own solar panels and generators, but toasters and kettles were all operated on gas. We received a welcome pack of crackers and two local cheeses - a lovely touch. The cottage was set in the native forest - a stunning outlook. The only drawback was that the gas burner was not very effective in warming the cottage, so we were lucky that it was not too cold on the night we stayed.

We arrived from the south early afternoon to be greeted by Kirsty operating the ferry, she had already lifted her ramp as we approached the bank, and she didn’t hesitate to come back in and pick us up in our camper van. She was super friendly and enthusiastic about the whole area we had just arrived at, that it changed our plans of driving through. We immediately booked a fantastic river side spot, and hired a double Kayak. Her suggestion to paddle to lovers falls and explore the pieman and savage rivers, was the highlight of our entire west coast trip. The river and Tarkine forest is breathtaking! Thank you also to Dylan for orientating us around the various walks the following day and wizzing up a brilliant coffee. This is not just a place to pass through, it’s a beautiful must see destination.

Our stay at Corinna Wilderness Village was absolutely fantastic! From the moment we arrived, the super friendly staff made us feel right at home. The old pub was just the right blend of rustic charm and comfort, creating the perfect spot to relax after a day of hiking. One of the highlights was disconnecting from the phone and internet—it was refreshing to truly switch off and soak in the stunning surroundings. Kayaking on the river was superb, offering breathtaking views of the Tarkine wilderness from the Pieman River, including a wreck! If you’re keen on the Pieman River cruise, definitely book ahead! The restaurant meal was outstanding, made even better by the charming and attentive staff. And while the bar is small, the beer and whisky selection is excellent—just be careful not to get trapped there! If you’re looking for an unforgettable wilderness experience with lots of local hiking trails and great hospitality, Corinna is the place to go.

Like being welcomed to a family. We had our own bespoke river cruise to Lover’s Falls with Tegan, and meals provided for dinner which were amazing. Cannot understate just how phenomenal and amazing this place is. The cabin was cosy, clean and had everything we needed. Put this on your bucket list.

The totally off grid experience was awesome. We did both the Sweetwater Cruise and Arcadia II cruise, and both were exceptional! Matthew and Gaye were exceptional cruise hosts and knew the area and background intimately. All staff were friendly and rooms were comfortable.
