Yelp
My friend and I were walking around Palm Springs and came across McCallum Adobe so decided to check it out. It's small but interesting. It's on the Main Street so easy access.

Yelp
I can't recommend these two small museums more! Both are wonderful insights into Palm Springs history, and well worth the visit! -McCallum Adobe- Admission: Technically free, but a $1 donation is suggested. No photography allowed. The McCallum Adobe is the oldest standing building in Palm Springs, and was built in 1885. It covers a lot of Palm Springs history, from the Native Americans to it becoming the playground of the stars. Lots of neat pictures of celebrities and their homes. Lots regarding Sinatra. Gift shop has a wonderful selection of books. Man at the counter did not talk to me at all. He was on the phone when I entered, but even when he hung up, he didn't say anything, and I was in the same room. I won't dock points for this though. Time Spent: About a 1/2 hour. -Cornelia White House- Admission: Technically free, but a $1 donation is suggested. Photography allowed, but no flash. The Cornelia White House showcases the home that Miss Cornelia White lived in, and offers a glimpse at what life was like for homesteaders in Palm Springs during the early years of the 20th century. Cornelia White and her sister and friends were also very interesting people! White and her sister enjoyed hiking, and cattle driving! Docent was also a tour guide for the Palm Springs Walking Tours, and very polite and answered all of my questions. Time Spent: 1/2 hour or so. But I talked with the docent a lot.

Yelp
This is a nice little piece of Palm Springs history, tucked along Palm Canyon Drive. It's easy to walk past without noticing. But there is a little museum in back, and cultural center as well. It's worth a look!

Yelp
This is an unassuming treasure trove of memorabilia, tucked into a small space in a strategic way. Well worth a visit. One note, though: I was reprimanded very early in our visit for taking a no-flash photo, even before i had come to the "no-photos" note on the wall. Our scolder was young, too zealous, aggressive and loved doing it. Unwelcoming. She told me to delete the photo, too. Times have changed and tourists are now allowed to photograph the original Mona Lisa in Paris--can you believe it? Heheheh.

Yelp
Built in 1885, the home of the Palm Springs Historical Society is also the first pioneer home built in Palm Springs. Containing the personal memorabilia of Pearl McCallum McManus, the McCallum Adobe provides a fascinating portal into the frontier days of Palm Springs

Yelp
The house is so beautiful, the gentlemen who showed me and my friends around is named Rob he is our tour guide a wonderful person to talk and laugh. He know his history of the house and the city of Palm Springs very well. I recommend you to visit. Cornelia's house is very welcoming and lots of fun. My favorite room was the kitchen.
