Didn't get my coffee here but had my Breakfast. Ordered the Bacon & Eggs sandwich. If not the best but one of the best. Bacon was crunchy and not oily. Egg was puffy and lean. It felt very light. It was perfect. Also ordered a Bacon Wrap. It was good but I preferred the sandwich.

Needed a late lunch option and we went w convenience of location. I had the BLT w egg. They definitely didn’t skimp on the bacon.

This is a BUSTLING little cafe on the corner which is fantastic. The coffee is good, the food is quick and delicious- I recommend any of the breakfast sandwiches. As you can see I finished half of mine before I remembered I review places. That’s a sign that the establishment is GOOD.

Google
The food is very well prepared, the coffee is not so good if you are picky about this drink, here you will only have a normal coffee. I recommend eating at the tables inside the premises. The outside tables are not very clean and there is a constant presence of pigeons. The local staff is very attentive and fast.

Google
“Eh” is the best way I can describe it. It’s cheaper than the other restaurant in the hotel, but it’s just… plain. I did not try the baked goods other than a croissant, so maybe they are better, but breakfast was ok. I had the garden gate scrambler. It filled me up, but I had put quite a bit of Tabasco on it. They were also out of potatoes. The fruit cup was good though. The person that took my order didn’t really seem happy to be doing it either.

We were walking back to our hotel from the Chicago Riverwalk and had a craving for coffee & pastry as the weather was chilly this evening. We came across Corner Bakery Cafe, which is a few doors down our hotel on E Wacker Dr., we walked in before they closed at 7PM. We ordered a regular coffee and a hot latte with a Confetti and a Pumpkin Baby Bundt cakes. Perfect to satisfy our craving! Shout out to the cashier 'Trey', who was extremely attentive regardless of how busy it was right before closing time. The lobby has plenty of seating area, perfect for study or working sessions. Overall, we had a great experience at this location and will definitely return.

Google
The Corner Bakery is located on the first floor of the London House building. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Very nice setup inside. Great breakfast menu too. I was even pleased to see the healthy options on the menu to choose from. And BILLY, He's was Fantastic! He made sure I had everything I needed for a great experience. Food was amazing, and there was barely a wait. Whether it's breakfast, brunch or lunch you'll eat well and be well taken care of. Make sure to day hi to Billy!

Whenever I visit Chicago, I always stop by this place. Before it used to be really good. However, yesterday, I don’t know if something was wrong with the employees over there, but if I could rate the customer service, I put them -0. Waited on the line for 10 minutes, employees were just walking past by us. No hi no welcome and not even smile. Finally got our food ordered and got it to our table, I said “ i will change the table if you dont mind”, employee said “ ma’am i’ll just set everything here you do whatever you want” in such a rude tone. I was thinking to myself “ did I say something wrong to him?”. No apparently that’s how he reacted to every customers. Note for the manager, if you want more customers to visit and feel welcomed in your bakery, hire better employees.

Yelp
Stopped into pickup some of these addictive raisin pecan sweet crisps as guest gifts to a few holiday parties and found out these are not just available at the holidays but ALL YEAR!! Omg this might become an obsession lol. Decided to try a panini sandwich as well. It was only okay because it didn't have much inside besides 4 slices of tomatoes and 3 skinny slices of mozzarella cheese and the bread was soggy by the time I walked home to eat it. Bummer! Service at the counter was cheerful and greeted everyone that came up with a smile. Maybe it's a small thing but it certainly left me with a positive impression at this location. Located right by London House Hotel and the Ocean Club on Wacker Drive. Yelp tip: they have signage outside with current promotions and the ability to get a free cookie by opting into their text messages.

Yelp
Cashier had a good time with my accent. It was all in fun. Clean restroom. Lemon baby bundt was delicious. Perfect texture, not super sweet - just enough. My husband loved the mac n cheese. Chai latte was perfect blend of spice.

Yelp
Excellent food! very nice clean ambiance! Our breakfast spot in Chicago while visiting.

Yelp
Food was good here, but overall just 3 stars for me. My fiance and I wanted something breakfast-y before we took Lyft to the airport after a weekend in town. I suggested this place as it was close to our hotel. I believe he had the BLTA (?) sandwich, and enjoyed it. I had the 4-stack of pancakes, which was good but a bit plain. I tried using the restroom before my meal but they only have ONE bathroom, and an employee took a while in it, so I had to wait a bit (normally not a big deal, but I have Crohn's). Bathroom was a bit messy and all of the trash cans in the restaurant were overflowing and messy, otherwise this would be a 4-star review from me ... the chocolate croissants and other bakery items looked really good too. There's both indoor and outdoor seating, we opted for indoors. Despite the messiness of the restaurant, I would still stop by when in town, if I wanted a quick bakery item or quick breakfast.

Yelp
I don't have a local Corner Bakery where I live, so this was such a fun treat. The breakfast sandwich I ordered was delicious and the coffee was great! The Corner Bakery was conveniently located in my hotel so it made the order and pickup process so quick and efficient.

Yelp
Only slightly reminiscent of the days of yore, when I went to the location on Adams. Busyish on a Sunday morning, but fairly adequate seating. Coffee was good. Eat outside (if it's warm) and you'll get to see the Trump building looking over you with its overbearing, obnoxiously huge letters.

Yelp
One of the best , breakfast, lunch, dinner, with an outstanding manager and staff in the area.

Yelp
This place is OK, simple but not the cleanest and not the best. A fantastic view from their patio but a tonnnn of birds everywhere so if you or your kids are sensitive to that, go elsewhere. They were out of bagels which I thought was odd. Especially because they offered a bagel breakfast sandwich. Food was ok, nothing special. Coffee was just ok too. But the view: 10/10!!

Yelp
This location is right below the LondonHouse, you could even access it from inside the LondonHouse hall, by the elevators. For such a busy location, I felt it was not as clean, but the service was good. It honestly must be the hectic volume of clients they receive. Their chicken sausage wrap was good, the one thing that I always enjoyed was their coffee. Their cappuccino was good but their cinnamon crème latte was amazing ( to me at least). It was just perfect with the amount of cinnamon and sugar.

Julie S.

Yelp
Food is a mixture of great and not so great. Eggs & bacon came piping hot & cooked to perfection! Toast and potatoes served cold. Potatoes bland and a bit undercooked for our taste. Dining room temperature was much too warm making it difficult to eat in a comfortable environment. Staff was very attentive and efficient.
google avatar

Hyrum Q.

Yelp
This is a great bakery! I had a chocolate croissant and it was very tasty. Food came quickly and staff were polite. Seats and tables were clean. I'm definitely going to go again the day after tomorrow if not tomorrow.

Yelp
This place was just plain bad. From taking 45 minutes for what should take 5 to food which was just meh to employees who couldn't care. In a city with some of the best food options in the world I can't believe this place is still in business. Avoid.
google avatar

Taylor G.

Yelp
Oh my gosh this place was a joke. Went there twice, both times over 30 minutes before closing. 1st visit - they told me they ran out of pasta? 2nd visit - said they took the last customer and that we needed to leave and locked the doors after we left. Like whaaaat?!

Maeve J.

Yelp
25 minute wait for a premade soup and a toasted bagel that I had to spread the cream cheese on myself. Wasn't even a line. The coffee was good. The floors were covered in trash, no toilet paper in bathroom, and none of the tables and counters were cleaned. Everyone who worked there looked miserable and moved slower than a snail. Waste of a great location.
google avatar

Alejandra D.

Yelp
I loved that they had outdoor seating. Food came on a paper plate which felt a little cheap-y. Loved my iced coffee though. My breakfast sandwich was good. I liked sitting outdoors because we could people watch :) This place is downtown which is nice!

Yelp
Yikes - this is definitely a review that deserves an update. What happened to this Corner Bakery?? It was complete chaos when I went in for a pickup order. With nowhere to stand, I just continuously dodged people while waiting for my order to be called. When it was, I double checked and half my meal was missing. Standing up at the counter trying to catch someone's eye did not work - I basically had to accost one of the workers to ask for the rest of my order and even that did not work - she told me to ask the barista for it even though it was a food item. Finally, the cashier walks over and grabs my bakery item, throws it in a bag and hands it to me with a huff. No apologies for messing up my order, almost like I was the inconvenience! What a terrible experience.

Yelp
Walked in for a cup of coffee, walked out with a full tummy! This place on the corner right down from our hotel was the perfect stop for coffee and breakfast. Sorry for not having pictures, but the bacon cheddar panini was crisp and tasty!! The ambiance was buzzy, lots of conversations, laughing, and exciting. Fast moving, people in and out, lots of quick movement. Service is fast, food is good, coffee is hot, prices are reasonable. My only feedback would be for some better quality plates and utensils for dining in, our food was served on flimsy paper plates. Not a total must, but just a recommendation.

P S.

Yelp
Food was pretty good, prices ok BUT here was the problem.Stoped on Tue 7/23/24 morning to place a to go order. They were busy but NOT crazy busy. When I placed my order ( it was only 4 items) I was told it would take 15 minutes. At the 23 minute mark I inquired about my food.Someone went to staging area and looked around but never reported back to me.At the 30 min mark I asked a manager looking person and she looked but also never got back to me AT the 40 min point I asked a 3rd person, who seemed at least a little concerned my order was taking so long but he did not seem to do anything to help solve the problem FINALLY at the 44 min mark the Manager looking person handed me my food.No " sorry it look 3 times longer then we told you" no " here is a free cup of coffee for the inconvenience " just handed me my food with an attitude like I was inconveniencing her day. Ya I will never go back there.

Yelp
I usually don't post reviews. But I'm so disappointed that my hope is that they will read this post and try to improve. I'm a long time fan of Corner bakery. But this place has become a mess. It is dirty inside, and other comments are aligned with this. In the past two weeks I came 4 times. The waiting time is just a shame. Today I waited for 55 minutes before being served. This is it. I won't come anymore. I don't know if they'll last with such a messy organization.

Doug B.

Yelp
Food was served cold. One sandwich came 15 minutes later and was Cold and soggy. Place was chaos and not at all well run. Manager seemed to not care and no apology offered for the poor food. Will never return.
google avatar

April W.

Yelp
Im only giving 4 stars because they were out of potatoes at breakfast time. Seems like thats when they would be fully stocked at the start of the day. Anyway my friend ordered pancakes & he enjoyed them, but they looked pretty basic to me- no fruit or thoughtful presentation. I would visit Corner Bakery again, but there is nothing unique on the menu here.

John M.

Yelp
Rude. Opens at six, but no food until 630. Not posted anywhere. Acted like I should know.

Michael M.

Yelp
I thought you close at 3 and not 2:45. I wanted buttered noodles and they said we can't make them it's too late. Buttered noodles not a huge order. Very disappointed.
google avatar

Larry M.

Yelp
Used to go this location often when I worked nearby. Same site but they remodeled and made it smaller. Came on a Saturday about 11:20 and was hoping for a sandwich but they said no lunch items until 12. Seemed a little rigid and late but I went with a breakfast burrito and lemonade instead then. The service was slow with several employees standing around and multiple customers at tables looking at the service area wondering when their food was coming out. It took 15 minutes to get what looked like a premade breakfast burrito that had been warmed up. The place wasn't particularly busy so it's not clear why they were slow. Food tasted fine, nothing special, and service was slow, kinda disengaged, and not as good as I recalled it being before. Probably won't go back.
google avatar

Iver M.

Yelp
Worst possible attitudes from everyone in the store! The cashier acted like we were wasting her time by ordering and then something was left out of my order and they acted like I was trying to steal from them. Kicker... hair in my sandwich! Awesome.

Aileen S.

Yelp
I would definitely not recommend this location while visiting Chicago. The cashier and front staff were extremely nice and respectful (I will give them that). But the food was definitely not what I expected, I had plastic wrap in my eggs , the plates were dirty and the food was bland. And for coffee just head up the street and visit the Starbucks reserve, for 5 dollars more you could have a fresh cup of coffee and fresh sandwiches. Trust me I went the day before. The place also needs to be cleaned , it is not the cleanest location. I do feel bad for the staff as they do the best they can with what they have.

Yelp
This location has reopened after an extensive renovation. The new and improved cafe is lighter and very relaxed atmosphere as it did in the past. I had ordered the Classic Caesar - Cafe for a quick lunch. Within a few minutes, the salad was brought to me. The salad was good.... you really can't mess up this salad. The prices are reasonable for a quick sit down restaurant. I would recommend this restaurant for a quick bite to eat.
google avatar

Daniel B.

Yelp
Breakfast (eggs, pancakes and bacon) was just mediocre. It was 28 degrees outside and snowing and inside thermostat was set to 55 degrees so not warm enough to feel comfortable. Coffee urns were empty and I had to ask for a refill from behind the counter. The refilled cup was full of grinds towards the end. I have been to other locations with much better food and service. This location fell short of my expectations.

Claudia S.

Yelp
Awful! Pancakes salty Eggs were cold. No taste Bacon too greasy They didn't want to refund me the money. Never come back again

Carol A.

Yelp
Very disappointing. I haven't been there in ages and thought I would stop in for a salad. I ordered the Cobb Salad, it was okay, but restaurants should always put a salad in a bowl. The plates are a cheap presentation and the lettuce always falls of the plate. What really SHOCKED me was their washroom. They were filthy and the floors were disgusting. The soap wasn't in a dispenser on the wall, it was on the sink and 1 squirt and it was in the sink. NO toilet paper and nobody even checking the paper towels. I had to wash my hands and had to get napkins from the service area. What a mess, saw a manager and he was just standing there, don't you think you should check your washroom?
google avatar

Kammy Windy Town W.

Yelp
I love this location even if this chains coffe is not good. Especially in the sunny warm day it's good to have an outside seating and see the beautiful city landscape. But beware this shop closes early in the afternoon.

Dayatara C.

Yelp
The workers are really nice but I couldn't enjoy my food because I was sitting next to the window and made the mistake of looking down at the windowsill/floorboards. DISGUSTING!! Ruined my appetite.
google avatar

Ellen M.

Yelp
Nice selection for national chain and really great baked goods. I got a Choose Two and opted for a Ceasar salad and panini sandwich. I enjoyed both. Service was average and the place was a little messy - tables needed to be wiped down. Bathroom could use a good cleaning, too.

Scott C.

Yelp
8:30 in the morning and they have been out of coffee for 15 minutes. Ordered a panini, the bread was dry & crunchy - obviously had been sitting for a while A bunch of employees standing around - skip this place

Dugald m.

Yelp
Been coming here for years but it's now filthy. Not even busy and tables covered in trash with birds feeding openly. I wonder what the kitchen is like?

Zelle H.

Yelp
Other than the nice staff, this restaurant is the worst restaurant I've been to while in Chicago. It's called a bakery but there was a small selection of pastries, which either looked bland or undercooked. The pancakes we received were burnt. The iced chai and hot chocolate tasted like milk. As well as pretty much everything else, which was all bland. I do not recommend anything other than the yogurt and fruit parfait.
google avatar

Nicholas S.

Yelp
Slow and terrible, but at least very cheap. Think of it as an alternative to McDonalds. With slightly better coffee.

Yelp
Corner bakery is really the best bet in regards to taste for value! I'm pretty sad they closed the location that was a little easier to get to from my work (444 N Michigan) but this location is still somewhat reachable. Although I won't be walking over the river in winter weather to dine-in! Thank goodness for delivery! Speaking of delivery, I feel really bad for their delivery lady. She apparently WALKS the deliveries. It's downtown, so I get it, I guess it's not much worse than biking. But thank God for her, cause I'm not doing it! Usually when I find a place I like, I end up ordering the same thing every time, and this is no exception. I love their Choose 2 options. Even a "half" sandwich here is hearty and decent portion, especially if you get it on the baguette. For $8.99 there isn't a better deal in the neighborhood, really! Sometimes they send a boatload of coupons in the mail, too, which I love! Seriously, I ate at Corner Bakery like 12 times between Nov-Dec thanks to their coupons. Would not have ate there THAT much otherwise. Faves: Chicken Pesto Sandwich: Good size, good flavor, quality ingredients Tomato Basil Soup: Tasty, savory, hint of sweet, creamy and filling - particularly lovely on a cold, snowy Chicago day and the croutons are so crunchy and well-seasoned! I like to dip my sandwich in it. Marinara Cavatappi: While it isn't the most robust or well-seasoned sauce, the portion that comes with the Choose 2 is surprisingly filling. I would have expected a tiny handful of noodles, but this is a full bowl and the noodles are always well cooked and spirally (so fun for me!) Asian edamame side salad: Wow, I can choose this as a side for no extra charge and it's tasty! It's kind of like an asian coleslaw and has great texture and flavor. Why would anyone choose chips when this is an option? Cinnamon Creme Cake: I always have to look away during the holidays when they're promoting whole cakes. That would be dangerous! Though quite delicious! Not so exciting: Seasonal Fruit Medley - For $3 you get the tiniest little scoop of kind of wilted-looking fruit Salads - I've had 2 different salads here and the quality of the lettuce and variety of toppings is really disappointing which is surprising considering the greens on the sandwiches are awesome Chocolate Chip Cookie - Doesn't seem like something they bake here, kind of hard and mediocre Overall, I would say Corner Bakery is one of my favorite lunch spots downtown. I wish there was one closer to home for those nights when I need a quick, affordable and tasty meal. But it might be for the best that there isn't, otherwise I should own stock in the company.

Yelp
It was very busy went I went in (Saturday morning) but and they were out of a few menu items. The staff was friendly and helpful and my togo order was fairly fast given that it was so busy. The panini I got was good and I would eat there again for a quick breakfast
google avatar

Taylor T.

Yelp
This was literally how my food got served after waiting a good 35 minutes for it. I'm embarrassed by the poor service at this place.
google avatar

LaCora H.

Yelp
Great spot for lunch. My BLT was loaded with ingredients and my half salad was huge. Amazing portions for a small fare. Happy to have tried the hibiscus lemonade. Refreshing!
google avatar

Miranda L.

Yelp
Most employees here seemed far more interested in socializing with each other than interacting with customers or maintaining the cafe. While the woman at the register was cheerful, everyone else avoided eye contact with customers, moved slowly, and spent time chatting together about last weekend's party. On top of this, this spacious location was mostly filled with dirty tables, and the women's restroom was also dirty. Not a pleasant visit.

Diana V.

Yelp
Great service and the food was really good! I totally recommend it to any visitors that come in to Chicago..
google avatar

Kathy T.

Yelp
I stopped here for breakfast around 10:30am. The menu selection was great. I ordered a power sandwich with avocado, cheese, and whole grain wheat. The portion size was small, but it was pretty filling. I also ordered a panini and soup as takeout for lunch later on.
google avatar

Jay M.

Yelp
A decent place to have breakfast in a busy Chicago downtown. However, the portions, in some cases, were just right, and in the rest, just not enough. Service - definitely - needs significant improvement. Food: With very limited vegetarian options, we went for Bananas Foster Pancake and a Farmers Scrambler with a side of Breakfast Potatoes (which never came) and a Hot Chai. Bananas Foster Pancake was good. With two pancakes, instead of a conventional three-stack, it was still a light breakfast even with all the cream and maple syrup on top. Farmers Scrambler was good. However, instead of Breakfast Potatoes, we got cut fruits which weren't really enough. The bread was dead cold and chewier. Hot Chai was good. Ambiance: We went on an Easter weekend and the place was jam packed. Given that it is in the downtown, we may excuse space constraints. However, overall, the place is very congested when full and people just ended up elbowing each other. Service: The staff is pretty expressionless to us. After the lady brought our order, when we pointed out that we asked for breakfast potatoes along with Farmers Scrambler, the lady wasn't aware and from her expression, it was clear that she wasn't even interested in finding out why. And that's what exactly happened - even though she said she'll check, she never returned with any explanation. Overall, the food is fine but the service wasn't up to the mark. We have experienced better service in rush hours at other places - it's just the attitude and training that makes the difference.

Sue S.

Yelp
It was no wonder why this place was packed when we arrived. The food & coffee were delicious! The Corner Bakery did not disappoint.
google avatar

Hope W.

Yelp
Placed order and after watching 3 other people after me get their order. Went to counter inquiring why I hadn't gotten my order. The young man had is back turned and asked "did you place an order". Yes I did and you were standing there when I did. I received my order however the disdainful and attitude of difference as well as substandard customer service was appalling. Probably should have just asked for a refund instead.

Yelp
Very low enthusiasm in the staff. Unbelievably low. Cleanliness is a bit lacking. Food seemed even more processed and lower quality than Starbucks. I had never eaten at a corner bakery and will never eat at one again. bakery is not a word that should be used to describe this corporation .just awful
