Corner Balık Restaurant

Had a lovely meal with my cousin a few months back during my time away in North Cyprus here. We had the set meze menu which also gave us an option to choose one main each… we both went for the grille sea bream. Love the atmosphere, very nice food, had live music playing as well. Only thing that lets this place down in my opinion is some of the prices are a little exaggerated. Other than that, a nice night out.

One of the best seafood platters and the best food I ever ate in the North Cyprus. The food was really delicious, including meze, the only minus was, there could be a bit more of rice and fried potatoes. The restaurant is situated in the Harbour with a beautiful view to the sea. The atmosphere is very lively. I liked that there was playing beautiful greek music. The service was great, the food was ready in a short time and price was reasonable. The waiter was polite, professional and even funny. We had a pleasant experience. I recommend to everyone, when you are visiting Kyrenia (Girne) to eat at this restaurant. Thank you! ❤️

Such a horrible experience. I would never ever recommend this place to anyone who would like to get anything worth their money. I ordered calamari and shrimps as an appetizer and I waited to eat them with my main dish. It got cold by the time my main dish came along. However I asked them to reheat my food and they just took it inside until I told them to bring them inside and when it came back 2 out my four shrimps were eaten and when I told them about it they just gave me some kind of left over shrimps in my own plate. When I asked for the bill I saw that they were charging me an extra 60 lira for nothing I kept asking the waiter what was it until he took it of my bill and he answered rudely towards me and said “do you want the bill or a problem” A terrible experience I don’t recommend anyone coming here at all. Delicious food! We had menu 2: 15 cold and 6 warm fish mezze. It was awesome and so much. Actually we ordered menu 1 which also includes a maincourse but we could not eat anymore so they changed it to menu 2, pretty kind. The service was not the best and could not speak english.

I cannot recommend this place, as the food wasn’t good at all. We made the mistake of taking the MixFish (as they said we couldn’t take the Menu 1 cause it was mandatory to take it for two (x2 the price). That mix contained awful mussels, and tough octopus, the calamari were just “meh”. We took the KingPrawnSalad which contained just 3 prawns... The best, the french fries and the views... maybe they have fresh fish but I couldn’t see it

Big disappointment.. this place is listed in Lonely Planet but doesn’t deserve visit at all. Better go to other restaurants in the harbor to eat seafood. Just few facts: 1. Smelling toilets, 2. Waiting for a drink for 20 min, starter arrived earlier. 3. They charge for water which they bring without you asking for it. 4. We waited 1 hour for second meal, 5. There was no side dish with second meal and they never brought it when we told them about it. 6. Waiter didn’t even apologize for all the troubles in the end.

Not a decent place. Reasonable prices on the menu but then they completely ripped us off. Food was ok but don’t agree to pay for anything that they haven’t told you the price of upfront. When we discussed the bill afterwards there was no flexibility. Will never eat here again.

Won’t recomend even for my enemies. 1) They tried to charge me more for my dishes that was writen in the menu. 2) they brought water without asking and charge you for that. 3) my calamari was flooded in oil, had to use napkins to dry it.
