Love this place. The atmosphere is always light and fun. The food is the perfect, slightly greasy bar food I want. The music they bring in is great too and it’s a nice little intimate venue. They serve coffee late night too. Plus they have NA beers. What’s not to like.

The food and drinks are always top notch BUT hold onto your hat if you get to see a band perform in the backyard garden!! Last night at the Mount Pom show was my first time seeing a band at this place, and it was packed!!! Being outside- It was nice and roomy so you had plenty of places to stand or sit. Sipping on delicious cocktails and eating their great sandwiches, wraps and salads…It was a perfect event! Hoping Mount Pom goes back to play there, but either way I’ll be watching for more bands playing at this venue!

If looking for that corner coffee shop with the hipster dive bar flair look no where else but corner tavern. No, you can’t get alcohol in the morning before 11am on a Sunday. However, the food is healthy, tasty, and affordable. Plus the drinks are great as well. You’ll meet neighbors and regulars and if you come often enough like Cheers everyone will know your name. You’ll learn you need to order at the counter if sitting at a table; hence the giant wooden sign that tells you so 💁🏻‍♀️ The Neon sign has always had a mind of its own, in the evening it’s always best to walk or drive by and peek in the giant windows to see if it’s open or not. Meanwhile the windows give you a fishbowl view to the neighborhood to enjoy while getting lost in the music, or a conversation. You won’t melt your brain in front of the tv because there isn’t one and we like it that way. They clean the espresso machine the hour before close, so don’t be “that guy/gal”. Also yeah they don’t have fountain sodas, they do have sodas using real cane sugar though. It isn’t for everyone, it’s for those who enjoy an experience with quality friends, food, drinks, and quality shenanigans as well ❤️ If you have moved here from a metro area and are seeking the neighborhood space to find the artists and the freaks alike, come on in and be lonely no more 😊❤️

I can only speak for the breakfast experience, but this place is on point. The wood furniture and accents make sure you feel like you're in a mountain establishment, but it's modern enough that you don't feel like you're in the hotel from The Shining. Service, coffee, and food are all great. I'd come back here no problem.

This place has amazing food, awesome customer service! With great workers. Nice little place to go for a date or night out with the better half. Or just go sit by yourself and think. I met the owner, he was a very kind person, talked to me about how him and his wife got the place, which I love seeing local places staying local! Great place to go for sure! And it is definitely one of my new go to spots!

This little hole-in-the-wall will surprise you! Delicious food. Good coffee. Very unassuming facade, and about the size of a cozy diner on the inside. Definitely feels like they put thought and care into what they make.

Excellent all around. From the outside it looks like a bar that was abandoned, but inside it is cozy and pretty cool. My partner came here to meet someone for coffee and was impressed, so we came by on a Friday afternoon for a late lunch. Limited menu, but they knock it out of the park with simple and delicious selections. I had the tuna melt and it was really good. They carry Western MD Lemonade and that made the experience better. Will be back again!

Found on our way to Ocean City from St. Louis. Food was good which was evidenced further by all the regulars that came in. Music was great. Coffee was amazing with available milk alternatives. Highly recommend stopping in.

Hidden gem downtown. Service was great. They have outside seating and good amount of chairs and tables inside. Nice place to study at while getting a bite to eat. Make sure you things are charged because there isn't any outlets available. The drinks were great. Food is portioned really well. Ordered the: Expresso martini Tequila sunrise Tuna melt Spicy tuna wrap You get your moneys worths because was priced and portion really well.

In Cumberland for 3 nights and on night 2 I found the absolute best bite I've had yet. Delicious Muffuletta sandwich recommended by the awesome bartender. Love the space, will be back on Sunday for coffee waiting for my train out of town. -bill (saxboybilly18 IG)

Great local bar!!! Food, drinks, atmosphere! Kind of like your favorite bar in town and it's right on the corner!

The staff welcomed us in on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in October when we arrived in Cumberland, Maryland to start a multi day bike ride on the G.A.P Trail. We arrived just before the lunch crowd arrived so we scored street parking just outside on the other side of the street so we could keep in eye on our bicycles. I enjoyed my loose leaf tea plus my comfort food meal of a grilled cheese with tomato soup. I loved supporting this local business located only a 3-minute bike ride from Mile 0/our starting point on The Trail and I found it as it is listed in the 18th edition of the offical Trail Book.

My husband and I were looking for a place to sit and grab a bite to eat and a good drink. We came across Corner Tavern on Yelp and it looked like it was right up our alley. Plus, I noticed they had some gluten free food options for me, which was great! We didn't notice a parking lot and only street parking, so you may need to walk a little bit depending on spaces, but the restaurant is located on the corner of a street with some other businesses and a seemingly quiet neighborhood. The inside is intimate and clean with friendly staff, who were very helpful with answering questions we had about the menu and drink suggestions. I ordered an espresso martini, the veggie breakfast burrito on a gluten free wrap and my husband got a draft beer. My wrap was so good! And it was a pretty big burrito for the price of it too! My martini was well made and my husband enjoyed his beer. We had such an enjoyable time sitting and chatting that we wished we lived closer because we could see this place being a great regular date spot. We decided that we will have to come back next time we are in town!

Needed some lunch and a real coffee (Americano). The place supplied both in excellent fashion. We both had the brisket sandwich special and it was excellent. The coffee really hit the spot. The service was excellent. I would highly recommend.

Do not go to this place. It took an Hour to get two sandwiches. One person working the front of the house. They were extremely passive. I had to ask about the sandwiches and the excuse was they are backed up. They only have sandwiches on the menu. Service was slow and horrible.

The sandwiches here are always really good and the service is always quick and reliable. Highly recommend coming here.

Let me start off by saying, I'm sure ill be back to this place and to this review to edit it for the better after the cafe grows more. I feel like i cant grade the cafe against not having its own lot because that's not truly fair as it is in a more down town area and having your own lot would be hard to come by based upon location. I was really impressed with the interior and the black subway tile. I know what this place used to look like, and it looks fabulous now. For having 2 staff on duty, they were running smooth. They offered tacos for Cinco de Mayo and it was great. They had several options for the type of meat and i thought they were really good. I wish it would've come with sour cream, but that's just a personal preference and I know some don't typically come with that. It was quite easy to sit, order, chat, enjoy lunch and pay. You pay on a square reader and then you're done. I'm really cool with this place being a cafe and also being able to serve some mixed drinks. I could see myself there watching a sporting event in the future if they ever welcome that type of patron. Sierra is a great cook :)

Great mixed drinks , coffee and beer. Something for everyone ! We liked the Old Fashion and beer choices.

My wife and I ordered breakfast a few weeks ago. They told us about 30 minutes. We were in a rush to get to a local train for a scheduled ride so we asked it to be made to go. We got our coffees (which were good and the reason for it not being 1 star) and said we'd be back for the food. When I returned, the cashier had said our food was ready but they hadn't packaged it to go. I reminded them I needed it that way. So he packed it up and handed it to me. I saw two packages and moved on. When I got to the train, we opened them up and realized they were completely wrong. We realized that they would be closed upon our return so I said I would call back the next day. I called and the employee gave me an email to the owner with whom I shared this privately but received no reply, so here I am. Please make this right and I'll be happy to update it.

Last night we went in with a couple of friends for a drink and bartender was horrible.i was at the counter waiting to order a drink and rudely said what do you want I explained and he told me it's going to be atleast 10 minutes because he was tired of making drinks for the night.so as the rest of my 16 friends showed up to get drinks we decided to leave . As we was leaving he ran out to tell me he was sorry and he give me a free drink. No thanks not now after treating me like shit a couple minutes ago. I thought downtown business was hurting for business I guess not this one . So I will never be back

I LOVE THIS PLACE. Their breakfast paninis are incredible. I can't believe how slept on this place is because the food is phenomenal, the interior is a good vibe, the owner is awesome and the coffee is stupendous. Oh... and the little patio in the back is adorable. fifteen thumbs up and one to grow on.

Very good breakfast! Big pastrami fan here and the Corner Tavern and Cafe has the best in the area ! Small place, small menu, good vibes and great pastrami.

Just passing through town and saw the good reviews. They did not disappoint! Looked like an old bar from outside, but cozy inside. The club wrap was delicious. Service was great. Beer was yummy as was the iced latte. Fun little back patio for enjoying the weather. Stop by and give them some more business.

This is one of those places where you walk up and have second thoughts and end up loving it once you've eaten. Service was friendly and informative. The food was excellent! 4 of us had a variety of food and everyone loved what they had. The coffee is also very good. I would highly recommend stopping in.

Love the Corner Tavern, eat there at least once a week. Food is consistently good. Menu is small, but it works for everyone. Beer selection always changes so you get to enjoy something new. Locally brewed coffee anytime. Once inside the tavern is so inviting and staff always pleasant.

9 guys here from out of town. Great patio out back, awesome food, great service, highly recommend. We all ate lot of different breakfast food and all good.

Best sandwiches in town. Cocktails can be terrific- if there is talent behind the bar. Wish they had decent wine. Inexpensive Patio Pounders like Gruner veltliner or quality Beaujolais that you can keep chilled.

Cute, little place with super nice staff. Good place to chill and you can at the outdoor tables with your pups.

This may be my favorite place to get a beer and sandwhich in cumberland. There is a construction Llama, good food, and great staff, what more could you want. Go check it out.

Great coffee, excellent breakfast wraps, vegetarian fare, and gluten free. This was a gem to find in Cumberland.

Delicious breakfast sandwiches and excellent espresso drinks. Their foam was really really excellent, dense and creamy. Bacon was perfectly cooked. They have outdoor seating too, great for people watching.

I love this place! I've never had a muffuletta before so can't compare it to others, but this was delicious and good size portions. I keep meaning to try their house smoked pastrami sandwich but always change my mind and go for the muffuletta again. I have had the lox (again, smoked in house) and bagels. They were HUGE! I should've shared ... but no.

Absolutely delightful! We came here for breakfast and we're very satisfied with their quality of coffee, service, atmosphere and food! We ended up chatting with a couple that drove 20 minutes to dine there. They say they do this often. We enjoyed chatting with the owner as well. Take a stroll from the canal and check this spot out! We'll be back on our next visit to town.

Corner Tavern is one of the best things to happen to this area in a long time! In the morning, their coffee can not be beat. At night, the drinks are incredible! The food is awesome too, and the baked goods are fantastic when available. The staff is unbelievably passionate about their work, and it is evident in every order. The food is great, but the menu is small for now, with a larger menu coming later. Check Facebook for hours, as Yelp is wrong. Come check out this awesome place!

I finally got to try this local establishment and couldn't recommend it more! This weekend my family tried one of their breakfast sandwiches and coconut iced coffee. Often, you can tell that the food isn't a primary focus at a spot like this... but the breakfast sandwiches were delicious and you could tell they were developed and executed with care! Ours had bacon, egg, cheese, spinach, tomato and a southwest mayo that was the cherry on top! I can't wait to go back to try some of their other breakfast and lunch offerings.

If you have not tried this place, you're missing out. Food is absolutely delicious. Just had a club wrap and it was the best wrap I've ever had. Paninis are fabulous. Do yourself a favor, try breakfast or lunch, it is really good food.

Don't be scared away by the sketchy sign that says corner liquors! The coffee Is delicious! The breakfast sandwiches are tasty as well.

Discovered this little cafe after a friend mentioned that it was no longer a bar...well, it is, just a coffee bar. Offers organic food, vegan options and serves some meat options too for those still at that level... ~ ; ) AND a great cuppa coffee! The first good coffee I've had in Cumberland. We'll be back every time we are in town for sure! The place was clean, and even though it was busy, they were fast and got the order correct and the price was good too.

My daughter recently moved to area for a job and there is really very little in the area as far as good food establishments. We have been here twice to eat. I'd rate it as good/very good. Had the tuna sandwich first time and an egg/avocado second time. Pleased both times. Love the laid back vibe. Also had a drink one evening. Decent pour. This will definitely be a go to place.

This place is so cozy. It's like a hidden treasure! The café itself isn't huge so some may not like that but the people are friendly and the drinks are great! The espresso in the lattes is very good. I usually like my drinks a little sweeter but the espresso is so good that I don't even mind getting a plain latte! The food is amazing as well. The breakfast panini is fantastic. So glad I found this place and will definitely be returning!!

Excellent coffee, best by far in this part of the Maryland. Corner tavern is a friendly spot off the beaten path. The stroll is worth it and it's much easier to park nearby than Baltimore street

We were driving by on the highway on the way home and decided to stop by Cumberland to visit. After stopping by the bike shop, I asked for a recommendation for a place for lunch. They said the Corner Tavern and Cafe was really good. This was a fantastic recommendation. They offer only outdoor seating, small tables street side and tables in the back. The woman behind the counter, wearing a mask, was very nice and patient while I asked about the beer selection. We got muffuletta, tuna melt, and they did a special order for a grilled cheese. All products tasted fresh and sandwiches had generous servings. If I ever stop by Cumberland, I will be sure to go here.

I'm surprised every time I come in by quality/price ratio. Even the drip coffee was a treat. Made with care. Love the healthy options. Friendly staff. A little gem.

Very limited lunch menu but the paninis were delicious, the place is clean + the service was good.

$$$ Got a large latte with an extra espresso shot today and it cost 7.00 not including tip. Won't be going here again for coffee.

Was in Maryland for a work assignment, and was having a hard time finding a place to eat that served some lighter, fresher food options than most of the restaurants in the area (which tended to be traditional "American" diner food). This place was awesome! The two sweet baristas working there helped me find the place over the phone (Apple Maps sends you too far down the one-way street), and then were kind, quick, and professional while serving me. I got the veggie wrap with hummus, which was delicious, and was made fresh right then and there. Coffee and nutmeg scone were 5/5 as well. Wish I got the two girls' names, but thanks to both of them for an awesome experience!

Great small coffee shop, great drinks, nice small menu of sandwiches, wraps, panninis, etc. Have regional beers on tap, nice neighborhood vibe. Coffee all from local roaster as well.

The Corner Tavern is like the place you wouldn't expect to have great food and coffee, but they have both! The sandwiches are some of the best in town and the coffee is great! I love not having to get a beer when i see my friends at the bar. Sometimes I just don't want to spend $5 on a craft beer I'm not totally into. Having the option to get a coffee instead for like $2 is right up my alley.
