We were welcomed by the innkeeper, Brian, on Valentine’s Day, which ended up being the day of the Eagles Super Bowl parade. Our trip was planned back in December, so who knew this would happen? To say the day was hectic is an understatement, but Brian helped us settle in and was so accommodating, making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Brian assisted us with any request we had, including suggestions for places to eat and places to visit. He recommended a place for dinner on Saturday night and secured a reservation for us. Perfect! The breakfasts were delicious and the coffee was freshly ground and excellent. The inn is a gem, located close to many sites and attractions, but removed enough to be outside of the congestion and noise of downtown. The inn was built in 1870 and Brian told us about the original stained glass in the entry hall and pointed out the various wallpaper and its place in the history of the inn. He is a very well-informed host and it's obvious he enjoys what he does. His attention to detail and the service we received more than made up for the craziness and stress of arriving smack in the middle of Super Bowl parade day. Thank you for the lovely stay. See you again soon!

What a charming bed and breakfast! I was a signing author at a book event that was hosted by Cornerstone and it was the perfect place for book lovers to congregate and talk about their favorite fictional places. The rooms look so cozy and every nook is beautifully decorated. Stepping into the B&B is like being transported to another time and place. I need to plan a weekend trip here with my husband.

We had a delightful stay at Cornerstone Bed and Breakfast. The house is so cozy and beautiful, our room was immaculate and super comfy, (that mattress! The pillowcases!), and breakfast was delicious, with the smell of French toast luring us down the stairs to the dining table. Brian was such a lovely host! He was kind, attentive, helpful, and even offered us some of the warm brownies he had just gotten out of the oven one evening. We had our tarot cards read on the front porch by a kind, young lady and it was a fun experience. Cornerstone is a special place and, for us, was a perfect introduction to Philadelphia.

We enjoyed the ambience and decor, pleasant staff, immaculately clean suite, great baked goods and excellent breakfast. Our third floor suite had a nice whirlpool, 2 bedrooms and 2 TVs. The "romance package" was a nice add-on. There was a bottle of Prosecco, rose petals on the bed, mini strawberry cheesecakes, and fresh roses.

Cornerstone bed and breakfast is an historical home built in the 1800s, as such it has beautiful hardwood floors and gingerbread millwork on the outside. It is painted in a red and green color scheme and has wicker chairs and ferns on the front porch giving it great visual appeal. Our room was lovely with a comfy bed and plenty of hot water for the shower. We had delicious pumpkin spiced French toast for breakfast on the porch. Brian was a wonderful host. We enjoyed our stay.

We very much enjoyed our stay here! Brian is such a welcoming and friendly host. He provided delicious snacks and drinks, as well as gave excellent information about the history of the Cornerstone. The rooms were clean, had updated accommodations, and the pillow was the softest pillow I have ever laid my head on! We also got a chance to get our tarot cards read by a very talented reader who made it very fun and enjoyable.

I cannot say enough about the experience we were provided with here at Cornerstone B&B. It is like it's right out of a Hallmark Movie. I do not have one complaint, and we would not have changed anything about our stay. This place is top notch. We stayed in the Philadelphian room and it was perfect for my husband and I. The staff is incredible. They treat you like royalty and make you feel right at home. They are super attentive, and willing to help with anything you need. They give you their phone numbers, so that you can call throughout the night if you need anything, although they stay on property. There were complimentary bottles of water, delicious baked goods, elegant soaps, Qtips, cotton balls, ear plugs, lotions, and more in the bedrooms for us. There were also shampoo/soap/conditioner dispensers in the shower, so no need to pack any of those items! They supplied us with plenty of linens, and comfy robes. There was always an array of fresh baked goods, tea, and coffee in the common area. There was also a microwave and fridge available in a kitchenette area in the common area. Laundry could be washed in community machines at extra cost. There was free wifi, and streaming services available in the rooms. It being and old house it was a bit drafty, but they thought of that too, and provided us with a heater, and already had the room warmed up and ready for us! Breakfast was incredibly delicious! Parking was FREE, and not hard to find at all. We were able to park right in front of the building at no charge, or a driveway spot could have been available to us for just $15 more, which is a STEAL in this city. It was easy to find, and a perfect distance from both the city center, and the stadium. The neighborhood felt safe, and the doors have code entry. There was a perfect little relaxing porch area where we drank tea and ate out cookies. There are also other resting spots in the gated yard. They offer romantic packages with wine, smores, roses, choc strawberries, and more! They really have thought of everything here! I cant say enough about the amazing staff! The home is clean and gorgeous, but the people are what really made our stay. I believe his name is Brian that helped us check in, and in the AM. That boy deserves a raise. He is fantastic. We checked in later than I had planned, because we got caught up in the fun of the city, but when I called, Brian was so sweet. He told us that check in times are usually until 7pm, but to take our time. He wanted us to enjoy the city, and he would make sure he was available for a late check in if needed. We ended up checking in on time, to which he made sure to take into account any dietary restrictions we had, and get our breakfast order in. The environment was nothing short of relaxing, refreshing, and homey. We have stayed at many fancy, expensive hotels when we travel, but will stay here every time we visit the area from now on, and we will refer everyone we know to stay here. The ONLY miniscule thing that I would have changed, is the placement of the TV in relation to the bed. My husband and I like to watch TV in bed. We had a hard time watching TV from bed, because the big beautiful bed post was in the way. BUT, We LOVED this place.

The house is warm and inviting! We enjoyed delightful conversations with the innkeeper and other guests. After a delicious breakfast, we easily walked to the area museums and restaurants. The house is clean and beautifully appointed. We will definitely visit again!

Yelp
A great stay away from the bustle of the city. Inkeeper Brian is a treat of a person who makes killer French toast. We will definitely be back if we are ever in the Philly area again.

Yelp
A beautiful victorian home set among gorgeous shade trees. We had a first floor room. It had a very comfortable king size bed with an ensuite bath. Brian was our host. He was very gracious and accommodating. He made us wonderful breakfasts every day. Scents of freshly baked brownies and cakes filled the afternoon air that we enjoyed as we sat on the covered front porch sipping tea. We were walking distance to restaurants for lunch and dinner. We would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
A wonderful place to stay in a great location! Beautiful house, wonderful breakfast and very friendly service.

Yelp
Adorable BnB in a historic home which has been well maintained and restored. The bedrooms and bathrooms are clean and comfortable, the hosts are fantastic, and the food is great. Will definitely be returning on any future Philly trips.

Yelp
Oh my goodness YES! WHAT A FIND! Stumbled upon this place looking for a cute and cozy stay and boy did it not disappoint! Jill handled our breakfast which was a cranberry apple French toast with homemade whipped cream and locally sourced bacon! Hell yeah! Eric facilitated our check in and check out. He was nice enough to even show us some of his favorite antiques acquired over the years. An absolute gem for anyone looking for a unique stay in the Philadelphia area!

Mary S.

Yelp
My recent stay at the inn was most unpleasant. Firstly the internet not only kept dropping but it came up as weak security. It made streaming anything very difficult. In addition someone was smoking marijuana regularly. Considering the cost to stay at the inn I expected a smoke free environment. Worst of all though on the day I checked out breakfast gave me food poisoning. Let me tell you having to travel in that condition was horrible. All in all I would not recommend.

Carissa W.

Yelp
We had a wonderful stay here! Nathan and the other innkeepers were awesome! Very personable, friendly and helpful. Food was EXCELLENT, accommodations were great. Staying here definitely enhanced our trip!

Yelp
I cannot begin to explain how happy we were with our wedding at Cornerstone Bed and Breakfast last weekend! When we realized that we would have to postpone our larger celebration due to COVID-19, I was heartbroken. But planning our microwedding for 20 guests at Cornerstone was a dream! We were able to rent out the entire Bed and Breakfast for the weekend, which was incredibly convenient for our out-of-town guests. The flexibility for our guests to have their delicious homemade breakfast at their preferred time was wonderful. Everyone is still raving about how gorgeous the rooms were and how excellent the service was. We held our ceremony and reception in the recently updated garden, which was gorgeous with all of the spring blooms. We were able to bring in our own caterer (we went with the Pitruco Pizza Truck) and provide our own alcohol for the bar. We ended the night sitting with friends around the Bnb's firepit and the whole thing was just magical. Eric and Jill were beyond a pleasure to work with and did everything in their power to go above and beyond to make our special day run smoothly. They helped with planning, set up, tear down, and everything else that we could have needed. I will add photos as soon as we have them, but I would absolutely recommend Cornerstone to anyone planning an intimate event. We look forward to coming back to celebrate our wedding anniversary for years to come!

Yelp
Wow! This is definitely a hidden gem in Philadelphia. The location is terrific, on a quieter residential street but right by the art museum, a cute little park for walks and picnics, and the universities. We absolutely loved exploring the area on our stays. My husband and I first visited over the summer and loved taking in the city and having a great place to come back to when the heat of July was in full force mid day. We liked it so much we came back again in the winter for a cozy stay and got to really enjoy the warm, festive ambiance of the inn. The rooms are clean ,spacious ,and decorated with thoughtful details that boast the history of the inn and still provide modern convenience. We really appreciated the attention to detail, including the welcome book of recommendations for the area. The owners are delightful and will happily share the history of the inn and suggestions of things to do over a cocktail on the porch or a glass of wine by the fireplace. The weekend brunch is not to be missed. I'm practically drooling just thinking about the loaded hash browns that Eric made.

Yelp
Our hosts, Eric and Jill, whom are the owners of this B&B were very accommodating, and quite affable, especially Eric since he handles all the cooking/baking hence interacts with his guests as a chef would do (and Eric has that experience in his background). Jill provided us with discounted tickets to the Philly Zoo, a 15 minute walk away which we took advantage of, as well as other activities. We loved the wrap around porch outside with wicker chairs/rockers and tables. The first eve we returned from our day trip our hosts were sitting on the porch and we joined them. Cocktails were offered and Eric brought out vodka tonics with a fresh slice of lime. One late afternoon when where we very tired from our activities and returned to our room early, he knocked on our door and presented us with fresh margaritas. Wow, never encountered that before in a B&B. The residence was built in 1870 and contains what seems to true period furniture pieces. The gardens outside are verdant and must be well tended, along with the small adjacent side yard with a small table and 2 chairs. It is a very lovely B&B. Would you like fresh tea or coffee in the morning to eve with some fresh baked cookies Eric brings out from the kitchen every day? Just ask, it will be made available if not already available. Don't pass on booking at Cornerstone, it's a wonderful experience for a B&B.

Yelp
We hosted a marriage celebration for our daughter, who had recently gotten married in Portland, OR for 40 close friends and family, renting all 6 rooms for the weekend. Planning the entire event from Arizona, Jill was able to recommend a phenomenal caterer and photographer. We had a party Friday night, then a sit-down dinner on Saturday, and everything was fabulous! The weather was perfect for an outside party, and the garden was beautiful. Jill and Eric welcomed us and opened up their absolutely stunning inn to our family, even reminding us that "it was all ours." We could not have been happier with the rooms, the wonderful breakfast, the cleanliness . . . basically, everything! Our weekend exceeded our expectations, and our family is still talking about the "perfect party." Thank you, Jill and Eric!

Yelp
This bed and breakfast is AMAZING! It was so clean & cozy, with fresh coffee, lemonade, etc. and treats always available, and in a really safe location that's still close to any tourist sights we wanted to see in Philly. The owners were wonderful, the breakfast was delicious, parking was made easy, and it has an updated feel without compromising the beautiful historic details of the building. Everyone was very helpful, and it made for such a relaxing experience for my mom and I, and that is coming from people who are generally picky about where we stay. We 10/10 recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Philadelphia.

Feemler S.

Yelp
This beautifully restored former mansion sits in a gorgeous neighborhood of a whole slew of Victorian houses. The Cornestone's owners, Jill and Eric, have brought the former glory of this house, with its stained glass windows and high ceilings, back to life with a myriad of colorful and tasteful details. From the tidy garden to the historical wall papers, from the polished furnishings to the glittering chandeliers, from the beautiful floor inlays to the wraparound porch: everything shows an appreciation and joy for the time when Philadelphia was at the height of its mercantile power. And yet, the welcome is so warm and the attention lavished on the guests is so lovely, we felt we were in a home, not a museum. But beyond just offering a nice place to stay, the Cornerstone features a professional chef and the breakfast choices far surpass those of any regular powdered eggs buffet. Eric relies on local produce to create amazing feasts. We recommend a stay at the Cornerstone to all and cannot wait to come visit again.

Kate L.

Yelp
The Cornerstone is absolutely delightful. While I didn't spend the night there, Cornerstone did host a brunch event for me and my extended family. The owners Jill and Eric are a delight! It didn't feel like we were at an Inn at all- more like we were sitting in a good friend's home. And the FOOD. Don't get me started on the food. Eric is the chef at cornerstone and breakfast was just insane. Have you ever had Cloud Eggs? They are amazing. Cornerstone has no problems accommodating dietary needs, so everyone was all set. Would recommend to anyone! A great little hidden gem!

Shawna B.

Yelp
I had a wonderful stay at Cornerstone. The hosts are so accommodating and available. Also breakfast was wonderful. They are situated in University City area so it's cozy and safe. I walked everywhere but there is a subway station down the block. A very quick walk to the art museum. Will definitely stay again.

Patti S.

Yelp
We had a late check-in due to a late flight arrival, they were so very accommodating. The continental suite feels like a home away from home. Cozy, as well as absolute attention to detail throughout. Super quiet in the evening, which was a bonus. The charm of this property shines. From the beautiful magnolia tree outside to the picture windows inside. The all day tea/coffee and biscotti offerings are a great bonus. The history in Philadelphia is remarkable as is this B & B.

Yelp
We stayed here for a wedding that was in the area. We stayed in the Philadelphian room. The room was nice, but I would not recommend staying in it due to the proximity to the front door, dining room, kitchen, etc. Once breakfast prep begins and folks starting eating at 8:30am, you hear EVERYTHING, including detailed conversations that the other tenants are having at breakfast...all while still in your bed...with a pillow over your head trying to block it out. The owners were nice, but there's an obvious disconnect between Chris and who I assume are his parents/other owners. We had an extra guest with us for our first night and I told Chris this the day we checked in. He said it was no problem and he even said we wouldn't be charged for the extra guest since she was leaving in the morning. However, the other owners were not made aware of this and we were asked who our extra guest was at breakfast. Then they proceeded to charge us an extra $30 for her stay (which I don't mind paying at all....but why tell us she won't be charged and then charge us?). Again, disconnect between the owners it seems. Also, we did not receive additional towels or anything for our extra guest, and we didn't ask for them either as we understood we were not being charged for her stay since she was only there to sleep and then take our toddler home so that my wife and I could enjoy the wedding. So we paid an extra $30 for her to share a king bed with us and for her to have soggy bland eggs for breakfast. While it sounds like I'm caught up in paying the extra $$...I'm not. I'm bothered that management at this place clearly is not on the same page, and that we were questioned about our extra guest at breakfast in front of other guests. Breakfast was fairly blah, so much that we skipped it the second day. We heard similar comments about the quality of breakfast from the other wedding attendees who also stayed at Cornerstone. Overall it is a nice place, very clean, and they accommodated us with a pack 'n play for our toddler which was great. Just a few negatives that would prevent us from staying there again, or recommend it to others.

Yelp
My fiance and I had a great weekend getaway at the Cornerstone B&B. Cozy bedrooms and spot on breakfast. I told them that it was some of the best coffee I had ever had. They proceeded to offer me grinds to take home with me. Great way to see Phily!

Veronica S.

Yelp
WOW! We stay exclusively at BnBs and have been to several across the US and in the UK and Europe. This is one of the BEST! The hosts are absolutely adorable and pay attention to the little details. They are warm and gregarious, but VERY thoughtful. They even made us a special vegan breakfast and brought it up to our room for us! The house is beautiful and appointed with all the charm you can imagine and still has those 21st Century comforts we've all come to rely on. I can't say enough wonderful things about the Cornerstone Bed and Breakfast. Simply outstanding!

Kimberly H.

Yelp
A little kitschy, this B&B located in Powelton Village is perfect for parents visiting their children at Penn or Drexel. The service is impeccable, and the rates are reasonable when compared with other amenities in the area (the inn at penn or the Sheraton). We managed to please my friend's very picky mother when she came for graduation a few years ago, and she has stayed there everytime she has visited since! The most important thing for me in a hotel is that it is clean, and Cornerstone is impeccable. The mirrors were streak free, and there was no lint or dust on the floors, or any weird stains on towels or the sheets. Thankfully, the front porch (great for quiet people watching) is well maintained and has comfortable furniture, perfect for resting after a long day of sight-seeing. I recommend specifically requesting a room with a private bath, though, as not all rooms have a private bath.

Gordon D.

Yelp
After almost 4 years of walking past the Cornerstone B&B on the way to class my wife and I booked a night there to revisit our old area. We stayed in the Philadelphian, a gorgeous green room with amazing stained glass and a nice modern bathroom. The entire building, in fact, looks great and has been lovingly restored to the Victorian style. It's not perfectly historically accurate; for example some of the furniture is more modern because, according to the owner, "Victorian furniture is extremely uncomfortable". It still looks amazing. We especially loved the stained glass, which is all original, and the glass chandelier. We stayed over the weekend, when they serve full breakfast, and the food was excellent. The owners were really nice and had plenty of interesting historical knowledge about the house. The only major downside: The parking is typical urban street parking, which is not much fun but we managed to get a decent spot both times we had to look. Fortunately it's within walking distance of plenty of public transit, and the owners will happily explain how to use it. Overall we were really happy with it, and would gladly stay again.

Yelp
Due to a heavy snow storm, My company had to put some employees up in hotels across the city. My daughter (who works with me) and I were placed at this beautiful bed and breakfast. The place is gorgeous, with lots of stained glass windows, period furnishings, and tastefully restored details. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in. The proprietor, Jules, even got up extra early to provide us with breakfast before regular breakfast hours, because we had to head out early for work. She gave us some history of the place and was available if we needed anything, but practically invisible when we preferred peace and quiet. Perfectly spotless rooms, immaculate and luxurious bathroom, all the extras. I can't speak to the price, since my employer footed the bill, but the quality was top notch!

Angela F.

Yelp
We were made to feel so welcome and at home. Their attention to detail was excellent. Liz's breakfasts are incredible. They made our stay in Philadelphia extra special and we'll be back to this B&B again! The third floor (Continental Suite) is an excellent option for a couple who prefers to sleep separately (husbands who snore!), but still enjoy together time. It has a small "extra bedroom" that is perfect to move the snorer to at sleeptime.

Pravin P.

Yelp
I highly recommend the Cornerstone for anyone wishing to stay in the Powelton Village area especially since the Museum of Art is only a 15 min walk away The owners are very friendly, and the B&B itself is excellently maintained. The rooms were spotless both times we were there and the breakfast in the morning was delicious.

Kseniya M.

Yelp
ric and Jill are absolutely amazing!! My husband and I came here for our honeymoon and absolutely loved our stay in the Continental Suite. The room was prepared with romantic touches: chilled champagne waiting for us, delicious hand made cupcakes, as well as cute towel swans on the bed. It was our first trip to Philly and thanks to Eric and Jill's recommendations for things to do and places to eat we fell completely in love with the city. The place was so cozy and nothing beats Eric's breakfasts. We loved having breakfast out on the porch and the candle light dinner they set up for us when we ordered take out was so cute and romantic. Eric made the best cocktails too! It was the best bed and breakfast experience we could have asked for. Even in the middle of a pandemic we didn't feel like we missed out on anything during our honeymoon thanks to our stay here. We can't wait to come back again.

Jess L.

Yelp
Cornerstone Bed & Breakfast was perfect for our family. We were touring UPenn in Philadelphia and it was in a great location close to the campus. The breakfast was good, but not very substantial. Our room was very cosy and clean. If looking for a nice place to stay in Philly, I recommend Cornerstone.

Susan I.

Yelp
As new owners Eric and Jill are wonderful hosts, paying attention to every detail. Beautiful old home with delightful front porch, comfy beds, homemade snacks, lovely landscaping, games including corn hole, super location- I'm not sure what else you could ask for! The icing on the cake was Eric's fabulous cooking - not your normal bed & breakfast! If you are in the area, go experience it for yourself!

Meghan R.

Yelp
Wow, this is one of the best BnBs we've ever stayed at. The Cornerstone is located in an adorable historic and walkable neighborhood, and from the moment we arrived we were awestruck at the beauty and charm of this incredibly preserved gem of a building. Jill and Eric have thought of absolutely everything to make our stay exceptional. We loved sitting out on the beautiful porch, dining in the beautiful dining room while vintage music played softly, and enjoying our beautiful room with so many unique Victorian features. It was not just a place to stay, it was a whole experience in itself. We arrived a few minutes after check in time but Jill was there waiting for us with a smile on her face and ready to offer us an array of beverages, snacks and any info we might need. It really felt like we were coming to stay with family who had thought of everything we would need. We are vegan and they made us the most delicious hearty vegan breakfasts and had almond milk and coconut creamer ready for us! The best part was that we were there for the Fourth of July, not only is the hotel one block from a great view of the fireworks but Jill and Eric had organized a cook out for the guests in their beautiful garden and even thought to have vegan burgers and hot dogs ready to grill for us! Wow! I'm so impressed, I can't imagine a better experience. Thanks Cornerstone, we'll remember our stay forever!

Yelp
Overall I was really displeased with my trip here. It felt like a overpriced Airbnb when I actually anticipated something more along the lines of a hotel stay. Upon placing my reservation, I thought the man who assisted me was really rude. Over the phone he had cut me off but I still went ahead and placed my reservation because I read good things about this place. I wanted to make sure that the room I was in was well lit but he kind of shut me down making it seem that all their rooms were very good. When I got there, I found of number of things to be displeasing. (1) I stayed in the Furness Room. It was pretty dark despite all the lights being on. My overall experience was that the place was poorly lit and not nearly as vibrant as the misleading images on YELP. (2) As some point in time, I heard a scratching in the walls between my room and the room next door. I assumed it was just my neighbor. However, I woke up multiple times in the middle of my sleep because I heard an animal running across the floor in the hallway (Definitely nails coming in contact with the floor as it scurried across). I don't believe they had any cats or dogs and I think if another person who was staying there had their pet accidentally slip out of their room, I would have heard the owner calling out to them. In the end, I was left to think that only a rodent could explain the midnight running around and scratching that I heard earlier in the walls. I did NOT appreciate the poor sleep I had. (3) The floors creaked a lot. Given that I am a early bird, it was uncomfortable walking around knowing that I had another person living below me and I could be disrupting their sleep. (4) I thought the male owner was very abrasive with his language. I actually came here for to take my board exam. (FYI, there was also another student from another school present.) In owner's attempt to be "helpful", he came off as very rude and as someone who knew everything. He made it seem like he was doing us a favor by talking to us. If anything, it felt more like a scare tactic and that he was the one bringing upon both fear and supposed comfort. I myself had already researched everything so it was unwanted. In the end his positive and negative words had very little effect on me but it was hard to not be rude in the event that either of us were to cut him off. I also did not try to cut him off since I would only be speaking on my behalf. Lastly, the owner mocked us for wanting to leave early and be there on time when he said that in the past people leaving to get there on time just wound up being there too early. (5) The breakfast was okay. Lost my appetite with the things coming out of the owner's mouth. (6) I didn't like the late check in time, early check out time, or restricted street parking hours. However, in the end with all I said above, I couldn't wait to get out of there so it worked out. Much regret with this booking. Book elsewhere.

Yelp
I stayed here the night before taking my Step 2 CS exam. It was honestly the best possible experience I could have asked for--very quiet, spotless, and comfortable. The owners are really friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the exam itself. Breakfast is delicious, and I was sent to take my test with additional snacks for the day (as well as some last minute advice!). They offer a discount to students taking the test--it rivaled the cost of all other hotels in the area, but is undoubtedly more luxurious. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Yelp
Nice B&B. Fairly inexpensive but you wouldn't know it; they are in a nice part of town, serve a delicious breakfast (day 1 was poached eggs and toast, and day 2 was irish oatmeal with almonds and fruit), and foster a friendly and quiet atmosphere. Our room was the only one without an attached bath, but the bath was huge and we rarely saw anyone in the hall. They have a big porch, wifi, and fridges and a washer and dryer for guests. It's a ten minute walk to the Philadelphia Art Museum, the 30th & Market Street station (Amtrak/local transit), or University City. Apparently they have regulars during the week, which probably contributes to the un-touristy atmosphere.

Amanda F.

Yelp
This bnb is absolutely gorgeous, and the owners are so friendly and welcoming! My husband and I were traveling with his parents, so we stayed in the Continental Suite, which was a great space for two couples traveling together. We each got our own room, with a shared bathroom between. The only thing to be aware of is that that particular room is on the top floor (which means it's quiet) so you're going up quite a few stairs, some of which were sort of steep. The breakfast was amazing - they had a hot brunch-style breakfast on Sunday, and then on weekdays they do more of a cold breakfast with breads, cheeses, meats, yogurts, fruits - still very good and generous!

Jennifer H.

Yelp
LOVE THIS PLACE! It's situated right in Drexler University area, everything is within walking distance or a short drive. The owners are awesome! The rooms are perfect. We stayed on the 3rd floor, which was a little hard on my 12 year old dog to do the stairs, but she survived. (yes, it is dog friendly). The wrap around proch is great to sit and have a glass of wine and enjoy the neighborhood. The good was fabulous, and having coffee served to you on the porch each morning was such a nice treat. I would definately recommend staying here. I know I'll be back!

Yelp
I stayed at Cornerstone B&B with my mom for one night back in November. I was taking the USMLE Step 2 CS exam and needed a quiet and nearby place to stay. After doing some research I chose Cornerstone because of the recommendations and how cozy the place looked in pictures. I was able to get a discount because I was taking the USMLE exam so props for that!! My mom and I got there at night and were warmly greeted by Dennis who immediately showed us our room and invited us to try some snacks and coffee/tea that were available at all times. The day I stayed I could see a couple of other examinees so I didn't feel alone. We stayed at the Furness Room which has its own bathroom; the room was wonderful and fully equipped (there was a hair dryer, yay!) Dennis was very knowledgeable about the exam policies and gave us some snacks to take with us. Breakfast was delicious. Dennis let my mom wait in the dinning/living room area until I was done with the exam at around 4pm. She had a lovely time and that made me feel much more relaxed since I didn't want her to be alone in the street. My experience was fantastic, you can breath in all the coziness and warmth as soon as you walk into the inn. Yesterday I got my exam results and I passed =) I think staying at the inn definitely helped me during this nerve-wracking day. I'll definitely be back during the summer with the family!

Yelp
My husband and I stayed recently and really loved our room-The University Suite. NOT expensive if you consider that you get free breakfast, unlimited snacks and coffee/tea, free street parking, free wifi, and even zoo tickets! The room was large and updated but kept its historic charm. The home is situated in a great neighborhood within walking distance from the art museum, the zoo, and the SEPTA blue line. It was our first B&B experience and I think it will be tough to beat! Friendly owners make sure you're comfortable and taken care and give great restaurant reccomendations. We would definitely stay again!

Yelp
I just finished my stay at Cornerstone. It was a beautiful place but the service wasn't the best. The male owner was rude to my friends and I. The female owner was very nice and welcoming. Next time I go to Philly, I will be staying somewhere else.

Yelp
I took my family of 4 to Philadelphia and we stayed here. We stayed in the Continental suite and my kids LOVED the giant bathtub. The beds were comfortable! Which is often difficult to achieve for my very specific preferences for firm and "I don't want to feel my husband move". My husband was comfortable too, and he is even harder to please than me. Mission accomplished!! I need to know what kind of mattress and topper they have so that I can outfit my own bed in the same way. Breakfast was great. We were there mid-week and enjoyed the many savory and sweet choices of continental delights. Many homemade baked goods provided along with fresh fruit, boiled eggs and meats, cheese. They provided a great continental spread. The hosts also provide fantastic advice on touring the historic city. This place is worth a stay, but book in advance, they are sooo good, they fill up on weekends!

Yelp
Lovely place to stay in a great location near Univ. of Penn and Drexel universities with easy access to the central city sights. This beautifully restored Victorian home is fresh, spotless, full of good cheer. Not at all the kind of stuffy Victorian that you sometimes find as B and B's. This is bright and airy and refreshing. The spacious porch is a perfect spot to sit and read, or gather as friends for conversation. Dennis and Liz are smart and savvy perfect hosts: there when you need them, not when you don't. They have thought of all the amenities, furnishing the rooms for comfort and practicality. And the breakfast is terrific. Don't miss this peaceful and cozy respite when you visit Philadelphia. The Continental Suite on the third floor is worth the climb and small extra price for its privacy, sitting room, and lavish bathroom, even if you aren't traveling with friends and kids. We'll definitely return. There is lots more to do in Philly than we realized.
