My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Cornerstone Motel with Kathy and Greg last week. ||Our room overlooking the river was spotless and comfortable and quiet. ||At this tranquil setting you are only a few minutes from Cheticamp in one direction and practically at the doorstep of Cape Breton Highlands National Park with it's breathtaking beauty and many opportunities for hikes await. ||Questions about what trails are a "don't miss this"? You can count on the warm hospitality of the owners along with spot on suggestions.||We are happy to recommend the Cornerstone Motel as a base for exploring the park and relaxing in the scenery.

We stayed for two nights while touring Cape Breton. I spoke with the owner several times on the phone as we were looking for rooms and later when I had to reschedule our dates. Very friendly and accommodating. When we arrived his wife gave us a great restaurant tip. There are not many restaurant options nearby. We were driving an EV and needed to charge. It's an 8-minute walk to the 8 EV L2 chargers at the Cheticamp visitor's center, open 24x7. Park and charge over night for free with a park pass. Rooms were clean. No issues I can remember. A forgettable motel room is not a bad thing. We were in the front "colorful" cabins. Price for the rooms seemed very reasonable.

We stayed here 2 nights. The location at the end (driving counter-clockwise) of the Cabot Trail is ideal and we also liked being a very short distance out of town. Cathy and Greg take a lot of pride in their motel and it shows in the very clean and comfortable rooms, the landscaping and the wonderful trail they made along the river and woods on their large property. We loved walking there at the end of our day. A small coffee maker in the front rooms would be a great addition but Cathy very quickly made coffee and tea for us in the office as needed! There was very little noise from traffic at night and it didn't bother us at all.||Cathy was super friendly and kindly gave me a freezer pack for our small cooler bag when I asked where I could buy one. I really appreciated that.

I have to say we were pleasantly surprised at how cute the little motel was in Cheticamp. We stayed for 2 nights. Cathy and her husband were wonderful hosts.. They helped us navigate our stay and told us about all the cool places to go and eat. The rooms were very nice and clean and recently renovated. We were 2 minutes from the park and visitors center. The only reason we didn’t give a five star was that the beds were a bit hard but that is a personal thing and may not be the case for every one.

Arrived at the Cornerstone Motel on October 2, 2024. Cathy and Greg are great host, very nice people. Room was in immaculate condition. They are located at the mouth of the Cabot trail, which is very convenient. good view for the location. Plenty of choices for restaurants to eat at. Not deal breakers, the fridge was very small and had a microwave and no coffee machine. They did offer coffee and tea in the lobby in the AM. I found the step to enter your room was to high, causing a potential hazard. Would recommend this location. Anne and Wayne

Wonderful spot to stay along the Cabot Trail! Greg and Cathy are wonderful hosts that provide lovely, spacious and clean rooms. Stayed 3 nights and would’ve stayed longer. A wonderful spot just outside the Highlands, with a gorgeous view and access to the cheticamp river. A truly unique gem!

Rooms are nice size with great seating options and a lovely view for the small review at the back of the property. Very clean with a nice counter area for preparing lunches or a small breakfast. Owners a lovely people and very helpful. Nice hiking trail on property. Had a very comfortable stay. Really close to Cheticamp and Skyline trail.

Very clean, great location, super staff and very comfortable. |We were able to get a great recommendation for dinner and there is a nice walk around the property for evening or with your morning coffee. It looks like a simple motel but the rooms were spacious, had a fridge and microwave and unfortunately we only had one night here. |Thanks for the great stay😀
