Decided to try on a busy Saturday night so atmosphere inside was good, service was quick and attentive. Food was distinctly okay. Went for the steak but could not say it particularly stood out against other offerings elsewhere. Would give another try as rest of the menu has some good options.

Google
Great place for a date night, with areas for semi-private booths away from the open seating areas. The French onion soup was flavorful but a little sweet. Steaks were cooked perfectly, tender and juicy. Some bolder red wines (like a Primitivo) would pair better with good steaks. The cookie and ice cream is worth another visit.

Google
We chose the set menu. Chicken liver parfait to start and then the ribeye steak, it's served with spinach and chips or mash. All delicious, my friend said it was the best steak he'd had in a long time. Service is also good, all in all definitely worth a visit whilst in Cork

Google
Absolutely fabulous! The food was very delicious and the portion sizes much bigger than I expected for reasonable prices. Would definetly recommend if you are visiting Cork city. The vibe was also very nice and our server amazing!

We went here for our anniversary dinner, it was delicious we had a great experience. The cocktails were next level exquisite, i was driving and they accommodated my no alcohol request perfectly. All the cocktails are made to request as I was able to order any of the cocktails as mocktails. I ordered the pornstar martini and they even served me a shot of lemonade! My partner enjoyed normal cocktails and reported they were amazing. For dinner I ordered the sundries tomato cannelloni which wasn’t my favourite but still nice. My partner ordered the salmon which was cooked perfectly. We ordered a side of mashed potatoes which were creamy and delicious. Desert was equally delicious and the staff surprised us with a candle for our anniversary. Overall it was well worth the price.

Google
Fantastic food for a celebration. Had my birthday dinner here and the food was glorious. Present decent price for a three course meal and the staff were lovely especially the one that attended to our table.

Google
Great meal here recently. Party of 4. Got mussels, French onion soup and prawn pil pil to start. All delicious. Steaks for main - cooked perfectly. Cookie in a pan desert was quality. Enough for 3 ppl. The drinks were also top class. Unreal spicy margarita

Google
Lovely atmosphere (post Christmas 🌲) so we'd a great night. Food was good for me but my oh was not overly impressed with his seabass. Desserts were gorgeous. No toilets upstairs so be aware of that when you are booking. Service was prompt in fairness. A little pricey also but to be expected in the city centre.

Yelp
Back this evening after far too long away. Food here is even better than I remembered. We had mostly seafood this evening, and the flavours are just perfect - lots of subtle things woven into a gorgeous whole. I particularly recommend the mini lobster rolls and the sashimi appetiser. We will be back, and soon!

Yelp
The food was amazing! I got the fillet and my husband got the fish and chips, we got the beetroot appetizer as well. Service was exceptional. Our waitress was very attentive. Definitely recommend

Yelp
Good food but expensive prices, and service is reminiscent of European restaurants. We came across this restaurant and thought their outdoor seating looked ideal. Unfortunately it turned out every table was reserved except for the one next to a group of 3 ladies. We ended up sitting there and regretting this decision as our table was only about 2 feet away from them and we got to enjoy their coughing and conversation all night, as if we were at the same table. We just wanted to relax and enjoy a nice dinner and we couldn't even hear each other talk, that's how bad it was. We ordered: Guinness ($5.50) - this was good, hard to mess up. Tropical Daiquiri (~$12) - supposed to be a blended drink of fruity alcohol. I ordered this because it was really hot and sounded appealing. Unfortunately it was like drinking a thick fruit smoothie, and I couldn't taste any alcohol at all. It was really filling like a smoothie too and overall just not what I was looking for. 1/5 Smokey Duck Pizza ($20) - Smoked cheese, shredded duck, red onion, chorizo, chimichurri sauce, and sundried tomato. This was great, really flavorful and huge. Very stringy cheese though. 3/5 Burger (~$20?) - I forget what was on this but it was basically a massive juicy burger and it was fantastic. 4/5 So service was very laidback, we had to keep getting their attention when we wanted something. When it came time to pay the bill we had to ask for the bill, and then we had our card sitting there on the table for about 10 minutes until we finally gave up and actually got up and went inside to find someone. Super annoying when you're sitting next to a table of people talking loudly and over one another. I wouldn't come back based on our experience.

Yelp
This restaurant was amazing. We had a group of 7, called that morning to make a reservation, had no issues. The service was impeccable and the food was incredible. If you are in Cork and want a nice restaurant worth every penny you spend, then you must eat here.

Yelp
Cornstore is one of the top restaurants in city center cork. The food and drinks are top notch and the place to go when you are looking for a nice fancy meal with friends, family, or even a solo outing. I found Cornstore from other reviews on yelp and was drawn to the seafood dishes, delicious looking desserts, and as the fact that they have cocktails!!! The main course that I ordered was the pan seared salmon. It was delicious and had a light cream sauce that left my tastebuds delighted. Now what sets this restaurant above the rest is cocktails. It's not common to find restaurants with cocktails in the area so this was a welcomed delight. There were limited cocktail options but none the less, great crafted options. For dessert I had the flourless chocolate cake which was delicious as well. I left happy with the experience and with that Cornstore is a must in center city cork!

Yelp
From the moment we arrived and were greeted so warmly by Richie, the Manager, I was confident we had made the right choice. With Mom in her wheelchair they made way to a perfect table. From our starters to our dessert each dish was nothing short of amazing. Service was spectacular with a special kudos to Ceemence (French so missing some punctuation) for her attentiveness! We highly recommend dining at Cornstore! Spectacular!

Yelp
Very fresh fish! Yum! Outdoor heated seating available Food was tasty, very fresh -- YUM. Would pass on desserts though - SEA BASS (€24, yay): veggies quite salty but sea bass was perfect, enjoyed the potato mash thing as well - CHEESE PLATE (€10, ok): big portions here though the spiced apple chutney was a definite paS - FLOURLESS CHOCOLATE CAKE(€7, pass): wasn't a huge fan of the texture, a bit too sweet as well TLDR; a bit pricey but worth it for the very fresh seafood

Yelp
Wonderful food. Made a last minute reservation - we weren't sure what to expect. We all had differences dishes and everyone was really happy with their meals. Service was good - great wine selection. Wonderful way to end a day visiting the area.

Yelp
I can't speak for any other part of the menu but we came on a Sunday afternoon and had the Sunday lunch roast platter. It was phenomenal. Everything came out with great flavor and I didn't need to salt a single thing. Not even the potatoes (two varieties, roasted and mashed). The Yorkshire pudding was to die for and the veggies were perfect cooked. The meat was moist and tender. An absolutely perfect Sunday roast! Would highly recommend.

Yelp
Major props to The Cornstore for accommodating my party of two on a weekend night. The night before, I had arrived late to Cork and didn't have a proper dinner. Despite living through the pain of only eating drunk pizza while sober, I didn't consider dinner in advance yet again. Fortunately, the sweet hosts at the Cornstore took my name and number, and soon thereafter, our party was seated. We were in the middle so we got bumped around a bit, but they were still very nice and generally fast. I had a delicious and perfectly juicy burger as well as a local cider on ice. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite of my meal and every sip of my cider. The environment was awesome as well! I wouldn't recommend taking the risk I did. Be sure to make a reservation here instead!

Yelp
skip the warm oysters, their swimming in a tepid hot sauce puddle with bacon on top ( why ,oh and a flat pancake of mashed potatoes underneath the shell for some reason) .steak frites comes with ugly french fries and oily battered leek which was un cuttable and inedible. cutting through the extra fatty steak was also a challenge. service was a bit haphazard and people next to us didnt even receive their sides until after they had finished their mains.completely overpriced as normal for Irish restaurant. any barfood joint would of been better than this.its a nicely presented restaurant with nice seating and lights and decor. maybe go for a cocktail and skip the over reaching cuisine.

Yelp
The Cornstore Restaurant is one of my favorite restaurants in Cork. Every time I visit Cork, I make at least one visit for dinner.

Yelp
Hadn't eaten here before but we were staying in the Montenotte and it was recommended to us. it certainly didn't disappoint. we were greeted by Aine, who was amazing from start to finish, very warm and welcoming. they were very busy but it clearly didn't effect their service. we had the pate and mussels for starter. the Mussels portion was massive and it was perfect. main course was chicken and the cauliflower steak. now i'm not a vegan but i thought id try something different. and it was amazing. id definitely recommend. will definitely come back next time i'm in cork.

Yelp
This place was amazing! First, they had super unique cocktails to choose from. We were lucky to be there for "early bird special" (basically pre fix meal). My husband and I ended up getting 3 courses for €30. Second, I appreciated that the kids menu wasn't dumbed down for them. We were able to order them a tiny steak as well. Which was just as well cooked as our regular adult steaks. It was delicious ! Our wAiter, Richard, made top notch recommendations for pretty much everything. He helped us choose my cocktail, then wine. My husbands cocktail as well. All of which we enjoyed. He also made sure the kids dinners came out as soon as they were done. Which as a parent, we know, that is sometimes a lifesaver. The whole feel of the place was awesome. Anyone who came to the table was very lovely and made small talk! I would go back here again in a heartbeat!

Yelp
I was scared by the name because I was drunk and thought the second part said hole but I was pleasantly surprised by the food!!! Being from Iowa I was expecting small portions but the portions are great and the food is very tasty!!!

Yelp
The Cornstore was great! Stopped off in Cork overnight and gave this restaurant a try, and so glad we did! Very nice ambiance, and decor. Food was excellent and highly recommend the mushroom tortellini

Yelp
We dined here our first night in Cork, Ireland. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. We were a party of eight with reservations. Everyone enjoyed beer, wine and cider before ordering our delicious meals. I had the Pan Seared Salmon with New Crushed Potatoes, Sweet Pepperanatta, Pea and Bacon Buerre Blanc which was quite delicious and cooked perfectly. Others at the table enjoyed Baked Cannelloni of Butternut Squash with goat's cheese, pine nuts, spinach and figs with sundried tomato pesto; Gnocchi, and Chicken Breast, Mushroom Tart, Ginger Glazed Carrots with a Pea Bacon Burre Blanc. I can tell you that the Mushroom Tart was fabulous. The presentation, service and flavor of the food was much to my liking. I would recommend Cornstore to anyone wishing to enjoy great atmosphere and delicious food.

Yelp
Just stopped for drinks. SUPERIOR service here. Very pleasant atmosphere. Asked the bartender for recommendations for a good Irish beer and was so happy with his advice! Menu looks great and several people we spoke to said the food is excellent. Hope to return before we leave Cork to try the Chateaubriand.

Yelp
Nice higher end restaurant for both food and drink. One of the go-ti place in Cork. Good choice to bring your client to.

Yelp
Just a wonderful evening with such an amazing culinary experience...... Both my partner and I enjoyed to the fullest our meals and will most definitely be customers on a more regular basis! Servers and staff were extremely kind and very prompt..... they did not push while we were deciding what we wanted to order and when it came to getting our dishes to us.... they did it quickly and the food was perfect!

Yelp
Bought a whiskey sour here and it was so watered down, wasn't a fan of it that much! Service was a bit slow. Cozy place but wouldn't recommend the cocktails.

Yelp
A truly wonderful experience. My girlfriend and I ate here during our visit from the states. The service was very attentive. The drinks came quickly and definitely lived up to the websites claims about how good their bartenders are. One thing to note, the chicken wings were a step above. The sauce is a spot on Buffalo sauce, not too spicy but you feel that nice tingle. I miss good wings in my current city and these hit the spot. Side note to my side note: that steak was really tasty too. TL;DR place has good drinks, good starters, and great entrees. Prices were on par with what I expected. Check them out.

Yelp
This place is great!!! Classy, excellent food lovely ambiance and awesome selection of entrees. It's a little on the pricey side but definitely worth it.

Yelp
This place came highly recommended while we were in Cork for a conference. It's located in a nice part of downtown Cork. We walked there from our hotel. When we arrived we had to wait a few minutes for our table. We were seated at a booth in the back behind the bar. The waiter was very helpful and showed us some standout items on the menu. One item of note was the local buffalo mozzarella. Apparently it is made from the only herd of water buffalo in Ireland. I'm a huge cheese fan so I was very excited to try the mozzarella and tomato salad. What a nice treat and change from all of the Irish pub food I had been eating all week. Yum!

Yelp
The Hake was out of this world. Same for their goat cheese! The staff was attentive, despite how packed it was. Had a wonderful dinner there!

Yelp
Right. Two visits here, and both went about the same. Reasonable food. Not great food, reasonable. Better than a greasy spoon of course, but places like Electric and Market Lane blow the doors off this place. Service both nights was appalling. First night it was three of us, and our waiter took a half hour to take our drinks orders. Wife had a vegetable stew that was basically bland grey gravy with some veg and barley lurking about. God forbid they season it. My duck was okay, to be fair, and our friend said his steak was so-so. Said friend ordered a side of chips, and was informed that the complementary potatoes would be enough. We were still charged for them, mind you. Second night was even worse. Went in there with a group for a birthday dinner, and once more the service was a mess. My wife had to flag someone down to order a drink, (20 minutes after sitting down) and rather than take the hint and ask the rest of the table if they wanted something, she just legged it. Said drink didn't arrive until almost a half hour later, at which point - over three quarters of an hour in - the rest of us got to order as well. When pouring wine for one of the ladies in the party, one of the waiters refused to pour into her glass unless it was on the table and her hand away from it. When she didn't hear what he was saying, he just snatched it out of her hand and slapped it down, glugging wine in. Sorry to be an inconvenience there. Food was once more average at best. We were early enough so I ordered off the prix fixe menu, grabbing the wings, the ribeye, and the chocolate cake. Wings were quite good, but the steak I had was certainly not a ribeye, was instead three arse ends of sirloin, massively overcooked, and whacked on a bed of mash. I was told this place was famous for it's dry-aged steak, but this was awful. The chocolate cake I ordered never reared it's head, just like the side of chips in the first visit. (And like the first visit, better believe we were charged for it.) I pointed it out when the bill arrived, and was informed that they did indeed bring it out, and someone else must have eaten it. There was just a couple of euro difference between the two and three course, so in the interests of just getting the hell out of there, I let it slide. Won't be back, and would suggest you stop into one of the many other fine establishments in Cork instead.

Yelp
Fantastic food! Steak cooked perfectly and super tender. Pil Pil Shrimp appetizer was awesome. Creme brulee was great. Group of 15 thoroughly enjoyed our meals! Servers were very attentive. Overall a great experience with excellent food.

Yelp
Food: 3 stars Service: 2 stars Went here on hunt for decent dinner while I had a 2hr wait for my train. Menu sounded great, decent prices. When I saw they had mulled wine, I was sold. I had lots of time and was not in a hurry, but in the end everything took so long that I skipped the tempting dessert I had seen on the menu because I was afraid I would miss my train. Although to the restaurant's defense, the hostess did tell me it was their busiest time (6pm), it shouldn't have taken 15 minutes for them to bring my drink. I later waited over 20 minutes for the check. I sat in the bar area, not in the dining area. It was busy, but nothing crazy. The mulled wine was very nice, as were the mussels. The mussels were brothed in a light white wine, cream and fresh herb sauce - very yummy and fresh tasting. For a starter portion, the size was very generous. Probably about 40 mussels. €9.95 for mussels, €6.50 for mulled wine. They also have a location in Limerick, which I have not tried.

Yelp
We stopped by this restaurant while spending the weekend in Cork. This place came highly recommended and due to its very central location (a block or so off St Patricks street), it was an ideal place for dinner. We arrived without a reservation and to complicate things, we had also an 18 month old with us as well and so needed a table for three with a high chair. At first they told us that there was no availability and we would need to wait nearly an hour. As we turned to leave the hostess kindly offered to seat us right away if we didn't mind seating at this table which sat at the corner of the dining and bar area. This was not only a great option but meant great buggy storage for us as well as plenty of room for a high chair and absolutely no wait. My wife and I split the Chateaubriand for two, which was delicious. It came with potatoes and veggies as well which was a decent two person sharing size. We also had a shrimp appetiser which was really good, although on the pricey side and not a great portion size for the price. We were impressed with the kids menu and the fact that the restaurant does caters to families with small children as well with an under 2 menu. Not only this, but the under 2 menu had two options which were completely free. I think it was some type of mashed sweet potato that my son had. The place had a nice atmosphere and attracted both families as well as couples on romantic nights out. The service was very good and attentive to our needs.

Yelp
Great food and great service at a reasonable price for what you get! The restaurant is in a really nice setting, the decor and ambiance are lovely. I was here on a Wednesday night and it was really busy, but the staff got a table for us quickly. I started with mussels which were very tasty and the serving was generous. For mains I had the steak which was cooked perfectly and absolutely gorgeous!!!! A bottle of Malbec washed it down beautifully. Desert was a flour-less chocolate cake and and espresso ;-) So the bill, so four of us had three courses (mains were four steaks and four side dishes) and a bottle of wine for €50 per head. For the quality of food and service we received I thought it was very reasonable.

Yelp
CORNSTORE 14.10.10 Renowned wine writer Mary Dowey was our guide for the evening of quality food and wine at the Cornstore last Thursday. The wine selection from the Gilbeys catalogue was all from France. Mary, who started writing about wine in 1995, has a soft spot for French wines: "If you are serious about wine, you never stray too far from France and never turn your back on France for too long." Head chef Mike Ryan was the other star of the evening. His dishes for the high class six course meal were just brilliant. Indeed, all the staff at this popular city centre restaurant were in top form and all contributed to the fantastic wine and dine evening. CORNSTORE Walked into the Cornstore last evening for another €25.00 Dine-in-Cork meal and was surprised to see the Cornmarket Street venue two thirds full at 6.45pm. Surprising because it was in the middle of a recession, early in the week, early in the evening, and also considering that the famous old street is under re-construction at present and you have to find your way through the various safety barriers. One of the staff said the Dine in Cork Week was proving successful but there must be more than that to it. We had passed another participating restaurant and it looked close to empty. The Cornstore has been gradually making its reputation and has come up regularly on the grapevine in recent times. In addition, it has won a couple of regional awards and is going for national honours in the current Restaurant Association of Ireland contest. We were about to find out what the fuss was all about. We got a warm welcome and were soon seated. My Gravlax starter (home cured organic Donegal salmon with capers and a red onion salad) was excellent. The Duck Liver Pate (with an apple and grape chutney and toasted sourdough bread) was of a high standard. For the mains, I chose the Pork belly (with creamy mash, roast root vegetables with an apple purée and cider jus) and this was another five star plateful. There was a change to one or two items on the menu, including the cod. This was now served in a white bean (with tasty bacon bits and spring onion) cassoulet, quite a creamy one. Not quite on the same standard as the Pork belly but good nonetheless. Sticky Toffee pudding wasn't on the advertised menu but it was one of the best I've come across and the other dessert, much lighter, was a delightful lemon posset with a rhubarb compote, served in its own hinged jar. Nice touch, nice dessert. Two happy customers finished off with the coffee and a little bar of Milka chocolate, adding the Cornstore to an ever expanding list of quality Cork restaurants. No shortage of staff and the service was excellent all through and we had a laugh or two with our friendly waitress. The Cornstore probably has the longest list of wine available by the glass in Cork. I counted eleven in the red section. Tasted a few. The house white was the Chilean Los Tilos Sauvignon Blanc (€4.95). The first citrusy mouthful really got your attention: sharp tangy and dry. The house red was Los Tilos Cabernet Sauvignon, a lively easy drinking wine also at €4.95. If you are going to pay a bit more attention to the wine, maybe less to the conversation, then it would be worthwhile to pay a little extra. I enjoyed a glass of Spanish Bodega Muriel Tempranillo Rioja (€5.95) which was a better drink on all counts: deep red, fruity, great body and lingered well.

Yelp
Best meal in Ireland and their cocktails are fantastic! We went on a Sunday and we choose from the 2 course meal. I got the tomato appetizer and then the Salmon lunch. Both were delicious!!! My husband got the duck leg and he loved his meal too. Service was excellent too!

Yelp
On the way there the cab driver said he thought it was one of the best restaurants in Cork. The share plates menu was delishes so we had to get several. We got watermelon salad, foie gras, carpoccia and the tartar. I'll start off with the carpoccia which was well put together the flavors were even the nuts gave it a nice earthy after taste. Next the tartar it was my 2nd favorite of the dishes. The lime wedge they gave great acidity to the mild sweet undertones in the Avocado and mixed with the fish it was mouth watering. My favorite was the foie gras. I think we both agreed this was the best part. It came in a jam jar with a few baguette slices and flat bread which we had to ask for more of cause we could leave any in the jar. The perfect smooth texture it coated your palette with a delishes rich mix of even flavors. For our entree which we shared was the Hake. Personally it was a fish I'd never had before. The fish was perfectly cooked on a bed of tomato, chickpea and panchetta ragout. Thankfully the sauce did not over power the dish it complimented the fish. We ate the watermelon salad last to clear our palate at the end of the meal. It was a subtle dish no real heavy flavors very fresh. So happy we decided to do a last minute dinner here. Our server was wonderful and attentive even for a busy night. All the people working there were joking with the customers exchanging smiles and laughs it was a wonderful environment after a long week.

Yelp
My husband & I came here for our 10th anniversary. This was the best meal we had while in Cork & came highly recommended. We started with the Mockfish carpaccio that was so fresh. We then had the Chateaubriand steak for two that was cooked perfectly, was tender, & flavorful! It came with ample sides (mashed potatoes, carrots, mushrooms, salad, & fries). I had an espresso martini for dessert, & my husband had the Irish pot board that consisted of a tasting of 4 different types of whiskey. Overall, this was the perfect dinner to celebrate 10 years of marriage!

Yelp
Great early bird menu. Great steaks & sides. Great staff. Consistently well cooked & presented food... ....my kinda place!
google avatar

Yelp
Great cocktails. I mean, really good. Decent, nicely priced wines-by-the-glass list. The food was good but not amazing. In hindsight I would have had a second drink and gone somewhere else for dinner that was more unique and better executed.

Yelp
Stopped in for a drink based in sign advertising best cocktails in Cork. Liked the classy atmosphere and decided to stay for dinner. Very glad we did... The food and the cocktails were fantastic, not to mention the service was extremely friendly and welcoming. Shared the smoked chicken salad, fillet, flourless chocolate cake.. and the best old fashion cocktail in cork!!! .. All were fabulous and made for a fantastic evening out!!

Rachel B.

Yelp
Delicious from start to finish. Friendly staff, although our waiter may have been in training. Brie crostini was incredible, everyone's dish was hot and full of flavor from lobster to pasta, risotto to chateaubriand. Good wine list. Excellent desserts!

Shaye A.

Yelp
Best steak we have had in Ireland. Fillet was perfect temperature! Service with our waiter Mark was amazing. My daughter loved her lamb. And the mashed potatoes also best we had our whole trip! So glad we stumbled upon this restaurant.

Yelp
Great food at a very classy restaurant. ask for George the server, he makes the experience incredible and is a great guy. the 3 course meal is wonderful havibg tried the chicken, salmon and the fish cakes. all in all, awesome place if you are in cork.

Yelp
Dinner tonight for my sisters birthday. I had (shared) the chateaubriand, it was amazing! And came with so many sides! Between that and the gorgeous goats cheese crostini, I nearly didn't have room for possibly the nicest tiramisu I've ever tasted!

Mark Z.

Yelp
Very unwelcoming staff. We were better-dressed than most guests, which usually gets staff attention. I had to ask, Do you serve food here? Was offered one table, asked for another: "No, they're all reserved." Most we're still empty after we finished our three-course... Oh, the food. Was about average for the price range (€25-30 per seat). Slow to bring things out, and the steak was more-done than the med-rare requested. The flour less chocolate cake... You can get the same from a coffee shop or cafe (which is probably where it came from). Not worth it. Will not return. Can not recommend.

Dan D.

Yelp
A wonderful place to dine in downtown Cork. Great seafood and salads. Nice wine selections. Not a good place for a quick meal. Continental pace. Which I enjoy when I'm looking for fine food.

Noelle S.

Yelp
Great food! First tried the Cornstore for a special occasion and now I go back for any occasion worth a meal out! Have loved anything on the menu I've tried, and service is good, very friendly and quick. Once ever we had a bit of a wait, it was valentines day so we weren't bothered, but staff were so apologetic and gave us complimentary drinks, without us having to complain. Specialise in steak and seafood but really good choice on the menu. Definitely worth a visit.

Daphne C.

Yelp
Recommended in several guide books so we decided to visit for dinner. Food was average but service was exceptional. Sirloin steak, even cooked medium, was tough. Not the quality I would expect for the price. Appetizers, dessert and drinks were all good. I would go back but it would not be a must do if returning to Cork.

Yelp
Food is good, price maybe a little bit expensive but still ok. Service was perfect! I recommend. Can be very noisy at first floor :-)
