We stayed 9 nights in the Farmhouse of the Cornucopia Hotel, and it was absolutely lovely, even better than I expected. The farmhouse is a separate building within the hotel’s grounds. It has two bedrooms, a cozy living room with a kitchen, and a beautiful patio with trees, old limestone benches, and a table with chairs. The house has everything you might need and seems to have been recently renovated, as everything still feels new and fresh. What I especially loved is that you do not share walls with anyone. You have complete peace and privacy in the house, no noise and no distractions. Yet, just behind the gate, you have all the amenities of a resort: two beautiful pools, a restaurant, a bar, and sunbeds. Even those areas were quiet and relaxing. I cannot remember the last time I was in an environment so calm and restful. It might be because it was already the beginning of the off-season, but still, it was pure bliss. The staff were extremely friendly, professional, and helpful. The room service team was also lovely, very attentive, and came every day to clean and refresh everything perfectly. We only had breakfast once, as we usually ate in the house, but it was very nice with plenty of options. At the entrance to the hotel, there is a large tree that becomes a sleeping spot for many tiny white birds (some kind of local finch, perhaps). Around 18:30 they gather there, chirping and fluttering until they all settle and look like fluffy white blossoms. Not everyone notices them, but when they do, it is a wonderful sight. Since the farmhouse is on the ground level, you might occasionally see an ant on the floor or a small millipede in the bathroom. To future guests, please do not harm them. They are harmless and just looking for a bit of water. You can simply move them outside. In the patio you will also see some lizards and geckos. Please let them be, as they are the best natural pest control. If anything could be improved, a few hooks in the bathroom would be very practical, as there was nowhere to hang towels. It is not a big issue, just something easy to fix that would make things more comfortable. If we ever visit Gozo again, we will definitely stay at the Cornucopia once more. Whether in the farmhouse, one of the bungalows, or a hotel room, I am sure it will be just as lovely as our first stay. Thank you, Cornucopia!

Relaxing and quiet oasis. Lovely relaxing pool, greenery and short walking distance to village. We booked late and due to a special occasion we were given a room upgrade. We had lovely views over the valley. Breakfast was good. Staff were extremely friendly and professional. We liked the peace and charm which this hotel offered.

Lovely hotel and the location was also very good.|We, like many other guests have mentioned, have to praise the fabulous staff. From the cleaners to the waiting staff and barstaff to reception - every single one of them were and are a credit to the hotel!|The food was also very good indeed.||The only minor criticisms we had relate to the actual room, which was very dated and needed a few things sorting out.||These included:|Rusty towel rail - which didn't even seem to be connected.||Yellowy mark on the ceiling fan control switch.||Stained sink overflow that looked as though it needed a good clean through.||And one of the pillow cases on the bed was ripped at one of the seams.||Minor details like these should be easy to put right.||However, these issues didn't detract from our holiday there.

We returned yesterday from a brilliant week at the Cornucopia, was sad to leave this charming place. The building is charming, with a lot of character, especially the public areas. Our room was very large, overlooking the top pool, and had everything you should need for a comfortable break. Bathroom was large with a good shower and towels replaced daily. Tea and coffee were replenished every day, and having a fridge was very helpful. The lady who cleaned our room was fabulous, so smiley, she is a real credit to the hotel! All staff were excellent, so friendly, with good senses of humour ! Breakfast was plentiful, and the ladies were great at catering for my dietary requirements, I certainly didn’t struggle to eat! The hotel provided a packed breakfast as we had to check out early, so nice to be able to have a picnic on the ferry. The location of the hotel is perfect, with a view over the valley, a short walk up into the village square of Xaghra , where there are plentiful venues to eat and drink , we particularly enjoyed the coronation bar, all three bars/ cafes on the square do good food, and again, I had no issues finding food that I could eat. Recommend booking somewhere to eat in advance for the Wednesday evening live music event in the square ,is every other Wednesday ( we went on the 23rd July) .Also recommend a visit to Xerris grotto round the corner from the hotel, the grandson of the chap that discovered it gives you an interesting tour. We hired a car for two days which was great for discovering the island. We didn’t use buses as planned, as Uber and Bolt were very cheap . It was the celebration of St George the weekend we were there which was a spectacle to behold! Loved it. We used the fast ferry to visit Valetta, very convenient. All in all a brilliant week and would love to return, especially to the Cornucopia. I have holidayed on Gozo previously, but this hotel made this visit the best. Thank you for everything |Claire and Richard ( room 69) xx

We had a wonderful weekend stay at the Cornucopia Hotel in Xaghra, Gozo. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the friendly and polite staff and management, special thanks to Brian, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The entire hotel was spotless, and our room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious breakfast each morning, which gave us the perfect start to our day. The hotel’s pools were fantastic, refreshing and well maintained, perfect for relaxation. Ample parking made coming and going hassle free, and the views from our room were simply breathtaking. Watching the sunset from there was a highlight of our trip. Overall, Cornucopia Hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. We can’t wait to return!

This hotel is undoubtably dated in parts, the rooms especially. However you could say it adds to the charm of this beautiful old building which is a blissful retreat.|On arrival and unpacking, about to leave the room for the pool when we noticed the patio door was broken and couldn't be locked, not the best start after a long day. Swiftly sorted by the manager Brian who was nothing but professional, polite and a complete asset to this establishment. In fact all staff deserve a mention for their dedication and professionalism.|We very much enjoyed our stay here and wouldn't hesitate to return, the pool area if you are looking for a clean, peaceful, quiet time would be hard to beat anywhere.

The Cornucopia Hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the food was very good.|We were told we had been upgraded but our room fell short of what you expect in a 4. star hotel. The mattress was awful, you could feel and see all the springs, the pillows were lumpy and poor. The patio door to the balcony did not lock. The door to our room was difficult to lock & unlock, taking 30-60 seconds to open sometimes. Would not meet fire regulations. The window in the bathroom could not be opened.|We had water dripping through our wardrobes from the roof above. The manager came, put another towel on the shelf to absorb the water and said it would be 'fine'. The water leaked on our clothes in the wardrobe. This had been happening for some time as the shelves and base of the wardrobe were warped with the water. We had a great time, but not great sleep. Hotel rooms need a refit, and locks need changing for safety.

The Cornucopia is a four star hotel, a converted 300 year old farmhouse. We changed our room for a better one in our opinion which had pool view instead of side street, so the manager and staff were very accomodating which was appreciated. There are 3 pools, one shallow for kids + jacuzzi, all situated in the main yard and garden. Overall, it is a nice hotel, with super views of the valley offering picturesque sunsets. However, I must point out that for the price, the furniture, doors, a/c units, fans, and even pool borders are now becoming outdated. I understand the classic attire, but in some areas, it needs refurbishment. Also, please do get rid of the 70/80s radio sets from the rooms. We appreciate vintage, but the fact that they don't work, they're only an eyesore.
