A charming inn located very conveniently close to Kent, Cornwall Bridge ++. Mark and Stacy our hosts were perfect and gracious hosts. The rooms are nicely decorated and very comfortable beds. The breakfast area is lovely and overlooks the beautiful pool which I used Breakfast had a good variety of choices including Irish home made bread. A lovely property to walk around too. Our rooms were good for people with mobility problems like not being able to walk up/ down stairs. A good experience all round

Very nice and charming atmosphere in a beautiful part of Ct. The inn is older style so the rooms are small but comfortable and clean. I lived the reception area and the breakfast room. Cute tables and chairs and enclosed porch overlooking the pool and nicely landscaped yard. The breakfast is not a full cooked one but very adequate with hard boiled eggs, cereals, breads, fruit and yogurt. The staff is friendly and very welcoming - making sure we were comfortable and giving us info about the surrounding areas and restaurants. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it for a nice peaceful stay.

Great, quiet and quaint ! Nice landscaping and pool area. The inn is very charming, on the older side but well kept and comfortable. Breakfast and common areas were very nice and welcoming. Breakfast is continental and adequate with good choices, fruit, granola, cereal eggs and breads. Staff is wonderful! Informative and welcoming. Great place to stay and visit the beautiful surrounding areas.

My group of antique car enthusiasts booked ten of the 12 rooms and we really enjoyed our stay at Cornwall Inn. We appreciate the importance of honoring the past and really felt at home at the historic Inn. But the hospitality exceeded our expectations. We requested an early breakfast to meet our schedule; Mark was right on it and never hesitated. And the breakfast was beyond expectations too. Homemade pastries, fresh fruit and several cereal options plus the best coffee around was more than anyone needed to start the day. In the evening we enjoyed the immaculate pool area and sat in the enclosed porch with our bottle(s) of wine taking in the peaceful surroundings. The Inn is the perfect place to cultivate comradery among your group and we highly recommend it.

Mark and Stacey our hosts are great knowledgeable and friendly inn keepers. My brother and I have been staying with them for the past 6 years and will continue to visit them in the foreseeable future. Their location is ideal, great restaurants from Litchfield to Kent with Kent falls 5 minutes away. The rooms and bathrooms are always clean and inviting with their staff offering additional towels without asking. Their close proximity to lime rock park is ideal for us. They offer a casual breakfast with yogurt/granola, coffee, juices , cereal, fruit bowls and more. Their is an inviting pool also. An indoor seating area that is cozy and invites conversation with guests. You won’t be disappointed and you’ll want to return

I reserved the Hideaway for a week. What an ingenious layout and fun place to stay. It was perfect because I could walk across the street to five restaurants, a drugstore, a grocery store, a bookstore--and ice cream! Kent is a charming town, and the Hideaway is perfectly managed and perfectly appointed. Loved the fold-down desk and the coffered ceiling over the bed.

was a lovely time, loved the common area where we could hang out with a complimentary glass of wine, or tea, or popcorn etc. very much enjoyed that. B4 breakfast we did a half hour of yoga in the breakfast room. ||Breakfast was terrific and got us going in a wonderful way, also chatting with other guests was fun.||My shower (room #5) was hot and amazing and just what I needed after a long day of hiking. although I would recommend the shower head be cleaned, as some of the spray holes were clogged and some of the spray was going against the wall and not me.||I would also love a hot tub by the pool and how about a sauna and steam room???

Luci was so welcoming and friendly! It felt like staying in her charming New England home. It was so cozy and comfortable. There is a ton of useful information in the gathering room if you're visiting the area (and not just for skiing!). The breakfast room is cheerful and sunny and the food options were fantastic - homemade baked goods a bonus! I will recommend this place and stay again when I'm in Litchfield county or on the way further north.

Yelp
We have stayed with Stacey and Mark at the Cornwall Inn twice now, and each time have been very impressed by their hospitality, kindness and willingness to go the extra mile for their guests! Beds are comfortable, rooms are nicely appointed and the location is extremely convenient. Pet-friendly with a lovely backyard area for our small dog to explore. We were unable to make the free continental breakfast times, so they kindly arranged for our meals to be ready when convenient for us. Such a nice touch that went extremely appreciated for these tired travelers. COVID protocols very well followed. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area!

Yelp
Had a lovely stay here at the Inn--very comfortable accommodations, excellent food and very personable staff. Stacy and Mark attended to all my needs, dietary and comfort-wise. Very gracious hosts! Thank you, Stacy and Mark, for making my visit memorable!

Yelp
Stayed for one night. Visiting in the area for a day. Inn is very nice. Had a room in the newer section of the Inn. Very nice with a nice sitting area. The owner greeted me and was very pleasant. Suggested a few restaurants to eat at. The Inn has a great eating area for breakfast with a screened in porch. Nice in ground swimming pool as well. Breakfast was a serve yourself and was very good. I would definitely recommend this inn to anyone wanting to stay in the area.

Yelp
Lovely! I booked a night at the Cornwall Inn thanks to a generous LivingSocial deal that didn't include Labor Day weekend in its blackout dates. I was dismayed to have the proprietress call me out on using a discount deal during a holiday weekend, but before I could refer to the small type and threaten to refund my voucher, Stacey obligingly booked me a room. She warned me that the room she reserved wouldn't have a bathroom en suite, but when my husband and I checked in--lo and behold!--there was bathroom, and it was good. The Cornwall Inn is in the middle of nowhere and kind of hard to get to, but that's the point of vacationing in the Berkshires, isn't it? And anyway, there's free wifi and an abundance of decent food and hiking trails nearby. Mark and Stacey, the couple who run the Cornwall Inn, couldn't be nicer or more obliging. In fact Mark, a claims adjuster, gave my husband a good amount of free insurance advice regarding a recent injury. A cheap getaway at a lovely inn with expert advice to boot? What could be better? Oh, I know: a Trivial Pursuit board to go with the two expansion card sets : )

Yelp
Welcome to the place that will not service your room and will abruptly kick you out at checkout time and then "hope you enjoyed your stay". Rude staff! Mediocre accommodations.

Yelp
Beautiful area, okay service. We stayed here for 3 nights. Price was roughly $600 when booked 8 months in advance. I did have to change my booking days a couple of times and it was no problem. There was a room above our room and it was so loud! The first night we had zero water pressure, but after notifying the owner, they came and fixed it. I just wonder how come this wasn't identified earlier. The rooms were okay, but it was clear that the maid didn't to too much. Breakfast was something similar to what you find in Italy. Coffee, Pasty and a fruit. The maid left the room unlocked and cracked open while we were out, the gentlemen working the next morning didn't even bother apologizing. There was wireless internet, but they gave us the wrong password. We got the right one from the neighbor. I probably wouldn't recommend this place unless it was a last option.

Yelp
I recently traveled to CT for a funeral, and booked a room at the inn as it was one of the few pet-friendly accommodations in the area. I carefully reviewed the pictures online, and selected a second floor room (Bluejay Cache) in the lodge. When we arrived to check in, we were given a very dark, gloomy, smelly room on the garden level of the lodge instead. When we asked Mark about this, he said the room I requested wasn't turned over and that this was comparable instead because it also had a king bed like the one we had requested online. I did not book a room for the bed size - I booked a room based on a variety of factors, but fine. I also found this odd since we were the only guests staying at the inn that evening. Why not clean the second floor room for us and accommodate our room request? I also found this somewhat annoying because they knew we were traveling to the area for a funeral - I would have assumed under the circumstances they would have gone out of their way to accommodate us. Instead, I was asked "who died, how did he die" and then a series of follow-up questions surrounding the circumstances of his death I won't repeat but found incredibly insensitive. Mark asked us multiple times if we were planning to eat breakfast in the morning - we said yes twice. Then he brought it up again, in the context of us "being the only guests tonight" and he would knock $20 off our bill if we skipped breakfast; it became clear he didn't want to have to wake up and provide this for us. Again, under the circumstances of our reasons for traveling, seemed somewhat insensitive. Once we said "no problem we don't need breakfast" he said "good, that way I can sleep in." I would never imagine saying this to a guest. The room itself (Starling's Nest) had a VERY overwhelming musty smell, like being in an old basement. There were two small windows side-by-side at the front of the room, only one of which opened. So there was no air circulation at all, unless we turned on the very noisy air conditioning unit which was covered in dust. This bothered me since the room I had actually requested had multiple large windows according to the pictures online. There were a few dark black long hairs clinging to the bathroom door, dust on all the window screens, a spider web in the corner of the shower, and I saw at least a half dozen bugs (ants, silverfish, etc.) throughout the room. I absolutely do not believe this room was worth what we paid. It felt like we were sleeping in a musty, moldy basement. I would never stay here again, unfortunately. Perhaps the rooms in the main inn are better, but skip the lodge.

Yelp
Had a lovely weekend away from the big apple here. I took my girlfriend and we loved this inn that we stayed at. It is well kept by the owners and they out on a delicious spread for breakfast which will give you the energy to explore the towns, go hiking or kayaking in this amazing getaway location! I had a brilliant weekend, large part thanks to Stacey and her husband mark!

Yelp
Mark the owner took me in as I was passing by the area and provided exceptional hospitality. Updated, clean and rooms. I was on a photography road trip, and Mark was able to direct me to several locations I never would have found without his help. I'd recommend this place to anyone in the area!

Yelp
A lovely and charming traditional inn in a great location. Stayed here to visit my sister having come from California. This is a great place to stay near Kent and with Mohawk ski mountain nearby. The inn has appealing antique furniture and the floors creak when you walk across them. The owners are very nice and helpful. Nicely appointed rooms with antique furniture, comfortable beds and modern shower stalls A sizeable breakfast roon and a good breakfast. You can hang out in the comfy chairs of the lounge. Surrounded by lovely old treas you can wake up to hear the leaves and branches in the breeze and sounds of wildlife. Reminds me of the Barbara Stanwick Movie 'Christmas in Connecticut'. A great choice reasonably priced I will be back. For once no white christmas this year but hope the snow comes soon.

Yelp
My fiance and I really needed a vacation. So I wanted to set up a trip to visit the iO Gallery so that I could see the Michael Whelan exhibit there. The lady at iO Gallery seemed wonderful and I couldn't wait to see the are show. I tried to set up a room at this in and the people here seem to be a little strange. Okay extremely strange. They hung up on me ...twice! I have no idea why. I was polite. I'm always polite. It was really shocking. Was it because we don't drive and needed to set up a cab to get there. Why don't they have a shuttle set up? Most New Yorkers don't drive. They are rude, snooty and downright unpleasant. Too bad. I really would have like to have seem the Whelan exhibit.

Yelp
I stayed for three nights. Room was super comfortable and spotless. WiFi is fast and reliable. Bathroom is no great shakes, but I am not trying to have a midtown hotel experience, I am looking for something homey and rural. Owner is very companionable. Home baked goods particularly delicious at breakfast. I would certainly come again.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stayed here one night for a quick weekend getaway. He surprised me with the trip and the place couldn't have been better. The inn was lovely and quaint. Our room was very clean and cool. We spent most the day hiking but upon out return we spent time in the hot tub and pool which was very clean. we were given a free glass of wine (a nice touch) that night. The innkeepers were attentive and kind, making sure we had everything we needed. The bed was extremely comfortable (normally I have issues sleeping in hotels. But not here!!) we were both out like logs. The breakfast the next morning was nothing too extravagant. But it had all you needed. Toast, hard boiled eggs, cereal, pastry, coffee, juice etc. I would 100% stay here again.

Yelp
Our wedding reception was held here last year. It was fabulous and fantastic. Stacey and Mark were tremendously helpful with all the planning and execution: from space for our arrival via horse-drawn carriage, to location for the musicians, table seating, menu choices, and the food... Oh the food was wonderfully delicious - all our guests agreed. My sister (from FL) stayed at the Inn and enjoyed the rustic feel, snd making cell phone calls from her private deck. Out of town friends also stayed at the Inn. We highly recommend the Cornwall Inn.

Yelp
I got married over Labor Day weekend at Kent Falls State Park and stayed at this Inn. I could not recommend it highly enough. Everyone who worked there was so friendly and welcoming. The food was outstanding. We ate practically every meal there because it was so good and was a great variety. When you go, be sure to get a Margarita at the bar and get a Bloody Mary the next morning.

Yelp
I recently hosted a baby shower at The Cornwall Inn for my daughters with friends and family. Since I was making these plans from Florida, it was somewhat challenging. I had confidence that Stacey and Mark would come through for us... and they did WAY beyond my expectations. First of all the setting is warm and welcoming ... and spotlessly clean! The charming gathering rooms and the gracious hospitality was only topped by the exceptional food! Our guests were thrilled and so was I. When planning an private event, a family party, a business meeting or other occasions I highly recommend The Cornwall Inn. They are consummate professionals in a bucolic setting ... a rare and wonderful find indeed!

Yelp
This family business reflects the best of Northwest Connecticut, a place that makes us feel at home each time we stay. We are frequent visitors when looking to get away from NYC to enjoy skiing, hiking or enjoying local restaurants! The warm welcome from Stacey and Mark and their careful attention to detail make our weekend getaways very relaxing. Each room we've stayed in reflects a different style of coziness and charm.

Navarun G.

Yelp
The room was ok - nice bed and bathroom, though, I could hear the noise from the road. Breakfast was so so - nothing special. My biggest complaint is that the hot tub was closed because it was "Seasonal" - in October, when temps are in 60s and 50s, hot tbs should be open. The biggest asset was the closeness to Kent Falls and other scenic areas of northwestern CT.

Yelp
Over February break my family and I decided to go skiing at Mohawk mountain and we choose to stay at the Cornwall inn. In the morning we went to the complementary breakfast and it was great! The breakfast consisted of fresh fruit, toast with homemade jam, fresh pasteries and ceareal with homemade granola. The staff was overall very friendly and the Inn had a very "family run" feeling. The beds were comfy and the rooms have a cottage feeling. Also we brought our dog (a perfect pug named louie) to the Inn and the staff were very pet friendly and went above and beyond to make sure louie was comfortable. Overall the staff, food, rooms and overall service were fantastic. Two thumbs up!

Yelp
This is the picture-perfect place, at least from my attendance at an event. Run and operated by a family, complete with a dog and a piano-playing sun. The food was home-cooked and excellent. The place was cozy and service excellent. There's plenty of parking as well.
