I cannot thank the staff and management enough for their efforts during our stay. We were stranded in Coron during Typhoon Tino and the hotel and staff did everything possible to ensure our comfort and safety. ||This was one of the only hotels with a large generator, which the staff kept running most of the night and day. In comparison, Coron Town proper had no electricity for about 24 hours. ||The rooms were clean and spacious (stayed in both a suite and superior room), the common areas were great to spend time and get work done. ||The buffet breakfasts were fantastic with a good variety of sweet and savoury options. A pancake/egg station is always a plus, as is the fresh pandesal!

Coron does not offer a lot of good accommodations. If you are in search of a ‚decent‘ hotel you will surely land here. But is it decent? It looks beautiful like the pictures just bit older. It must have been a dream once. The pool is big, there are not enough chairs for everyone but we managed. The restaurant was also ok. Better dinner options in town but even eating here is fine. Breakfast was quiet good! It changes everyday so even if you stay several nights you don’t get bored. We read a lot of comments complaining about the neighborhood and bad sound isolation. Yes this is true. You hear animals and kids playing. The houses around are poor but you are in the phillipines people are poor! It is not much worse than other areas in coron! However the location is good for going out and taking the tours. We took a deluxe room wich was big and comfortable. The staff treated us nicely, they cleaned the room every day. It was just the moldy smell in the rooms and bathrooms that bothered us. Also no hot water! We changed the room, the upper ones are not as bad. The smell ruined this nice hotel for us! But this is a problem everywhere because it is so humid and the hotel is old.

I have been coming to Coron for many years and usually stay at a different hotel but due to the association with the dive shop Corto Divers I decided to give the hotel a try. First the location in Coron proper is good as it is not too close to the main street with the traffic noise and fumes from motor bikes and tuk tuks. The hotel is walking distance to downtown which easily puts you in range of restaurants, shops and the other aspects of the town. Since there are basically no sidewalks in Coron any hotel any real distance from town forces you into some form of transportation but this one does not. My room had a nice view of the bay and was clean and well maintained. The hotel did suffer a bit from the inconsistent hot/cold water pressure but that is pretty normal in the Philippines. The staff was very gracious and helpful when I needed to set up any transportation requirements. The buffet breakfast was more weighted towards Asian tastes (for me almost like dinner) but the egg and pancake station took care of my needs along with the fresh fruit. The hotel is a mid range cost but you get your money worth as unlike many of the less expensive hotels everything works and is well maintained. This is pretty obvious when their generator kicks in to keep the AIRCON running during the numerous power outages. The lower cost hotels you just sweat the night away. Also need to mention the well maintained swimming pool that you would actually use. Basically if you have gotten this far this hotel is a very good choice for staying in Coron and I was happy with all aspects of the hotel. BTW there is an interesting history about where much of the wood decoration in the hotel originated.

We stayed at Corto del Mar for my girlfriend’s birthday in one of the junior suites, and the team went above and beyond. They decorated the room with birthday décor before we arrived — definitely earned me a few bonus points! The staff were incredibly helpful throughout our stay. They even informed us about last-minute ferry schedule changes that the ferry company never told us about, saving us a big headache. Every time we returned to the hotel, they greeted us warmly and offered help with anything we needed. When our ferry company unexpectedly moved our departure 17 hours earlier, the hotel kindly accommodated us for an extra night (at cost) without any fuss. Beautiful rooms, excellent staff, and genuinely caring service — highly recommend Corto del Mar to anyone visiting Coron.

This is a charming hotel with an old-fashioned style — and that’s both its charm and its flaw. The place is good, but like everything good, it has its downsides. For example, the dining room features antique-looking wooden tables and chairs, but the chairs are so heavy that moving them requires real effort. The room itself is lovely, but the bathroom doesn’t match the room’s design and feels far from modern. There are curtains, yet they don’t block out the morning sun, so I had a “natural wake-up call” at 7:00 AM. The hotel’s location is great, just a five-minute walk from the main street. Calling it a four-star hotel would be an overstatement — three stars would be a more accurate reflection. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

Perfect hotel that is a two minute walk to the town plaza and 5 minutes from any restaurant you could imagine. Fantastic staff, very clean and well appointed rooms. Okay breakfast included. We booked a family room which had two bedrooms. Enough electric sockets, shelf for toiletries in shower, and lots of hooks for towels. Drying racks outside each room for wet items. Really nice soap in the bathroom. We booked all our tours with the front desk and it was perfect.

Our room had a strong damp smell, and the bed cover showed yellow stains and small holes, although the rest of the room appeared clean. The staff were friendly and helpful, which we appreciated. We asked for a room change and they were helpful and accommodated our request. Staff also helped with tour booking.

Yelp
From start to finish the Corto Del Mar Hotel provided us with a wonderful stay and impeccable service. Every single staff member we encountered was delightful and helpful to meet all our needs. Our room faced the Bay side with a wonderful view. The beds were comfortable, large king size room, free working wifi, and a nice pool. The location, which is not on the main strip, allows you to easily walk to town with several restaurants and shops nearby. I liked the fact that it was tucked away a bit, making it very peaceful and quiet. The hotel offers scooters for rent, which we did one day. The also were able to recommend a private boat operator, which turned out to be the highlight of our vacation. We ended up booking the private boat two times during our trip. The complimentary breakfast was exceptional. The variety of food was more than my eyes or stomach could take! They had everything from made to order omelettes and pancake, selection of fresh fruits to a variety of traditional Filipino dishes.

Yelp
We didn't stay at this hotel but we went to their scuba dive shop and we had a magical experience. It's called Corto divers, the hotel will lead you to the shop spot. We did the discovery dive and had a blast. All the dive masters were so friendly and informative. Our dive instructor, Kuya Randy is an expert and prepped us so well before we did our first dive. We felt super safe during the training and had fun on the 2 dives they took us. I would highly recommend this scuba dive shop. We will definitely come back!

Yelp
We did the discover dive with Corto Divers. It was our first dive, couldn't have gone smoother. The staff was friendly, skilled and fun to hang out with. Amazing wrecks, learned a bunch of skills. This has made me a fan of diving.

Yelp
I absolutely enjoyed staying at this Hotel, from the time I arrived the staff has been nothing but accommodating and extremely nice, the rooms are comfortable and has everything you need for a very comfortable stay in the Island. The hotel has free wifi, fridge, safety deposit box, a wonderful working full bath, comfy beds, a nice pool and a few rooms with a view...and yeah! It's eco-friendly, your card key basically operates all the electricity in your room by inserting it in a central control box in your room, when you leave to do your daily adventures, overall power in your room gets turned off (it could be a bummer though if you leave a laptop or iPad to charge) but oh well, you came here for leisure & pleasure not to work right? Overall this hotel has many of the creature comforts one would ever need to have a wonderful vacay, it's very close to town and to many local establishments, proximity to the main dock for your Island adventure is not that far, it is only a "tricycle" away. If you book a package like mine, a van will take you to all the places in your itinerary. Oh, One more thing, typical vacation packages for this hotel includes breakfast vouchers - they do have a delicious selection of breakfast from American, continental and traditional Filipino dishes, I do love their bar and their friendly bartenders - yup! Must have that alcohol wherever I maybe haha Enjoy your stay at Coron! Have the most amazing time!

Yelp
I had found this hotel on an article that someone had made a little while back after reading a review for a different hotel that my sister had made reservations for which had me reeling. I'm so glad that I had found this little gem. It's off the beaten path where some other hotels are located on the "main strip". Don't be alarmed when you arrive at the airport, keep in mind that you are in a very small, rural fishing village that caters to folks who want to visit a piece of paradise that happens to be one of the most popular places to see in the world that is in the Pacific. YouTube Coron and catch your jaw after seeing what I had experienced. So back to the hotel. It has a majestic feel to it because its interior reminds me of an old Spanish Castle however sparsely decorated with Asian art from different cultures. The rooms are spacious and they have nice hardwood floors along with a mini fridge that you can stock with your own drinks and the sort. Now here's where this hotel shines; it is one of the very few hotels that caters a"Western Menu" which also includes some native dishes. So if you crave pizza, fish and chips or a burger... yep they have it. My faves: The Fried Shrimp and Calamari....uhm deee lish. Wash it down with a coconut shake...dude brain freeze mmmkay? They offer a bunch of excursions via third party but that's how it rolls there -however there's an extra sense of legit booking an excursion through the hotel and the prices are reasonable ! The one I went on was called Super 8 something something , gosh I can't recall the exact name however I found that more than one "company" offers a similar package. This excursion is not a joke. It's an 8 hour day. You're on a boat with 11 other people going through about 8 lakes for swimming, snorkeling in crystal clear water and ( I swear when you look down into the water it's as if you're in virtual reality ) seeing reef and amazing fish that swim by without a care. OMG!! I get goosebumps just thinking about the austerity and surreal beauty I was surrounded by and happy to have visited before it becomes oversaturated with visitors. It also involves at a few stops where there is some serious step climbing to reach beautiful picture opportunities and hidden lakes. Serious steps! Smile when you come across the "7 Eleven" :) This excursion was one of the most tiring, rewarding, "gosh it feels great to be alive", one of the best days of my life. And after a long day, the hotel offers a legit third party massage service. I had this masseuse named "Ever". Being a bodybuilder, I am not an easy massage but this lady has hands of steel. I asked for her 3 days straight! Amazing! I'm not even going to mention how reasonable the prices were for the excursions and the massages. Check out Coron while you can and if you do, I totally recommend this hotel.

Yelp
This has been one of our best vacation experience. We came here with my wife son and faughter from U.S. after a Triathlon race in Cebu in August 2015. The hotel is perfect spot for beach hopping and close to the dock and market place. The staff from Front Desk, to Bar Tender to Restaurant servers are soo friendly We love those delicious jack fruit and duhat jam on our warm morning bfast pelandesal. The rooms are spacious and cozy! Kudos to the family who owns this and to their Chef. The Hotel GM Edwin Bautista wrote us a nice email after we have shared our wonderful experience with his staff. 5 stars! Cant wait to be back! Yelp
I love this hotel! The rooms are simple but chic and very comfortable. WiFi is weak, but let's be real, you should be out there exploring the island, not connected to the Web. The swimming pool is beautiful and clean, the food is great though probably more pricey than other restaurants in the neighborhood. The staff is friendly and helpful. We got a ride from and to the airport, and help with booking our tours. A/C was on point and complimentary breakfast to boot. Would absolutely book this again.

Yelp
I love this hotel. The room was better than what we expected traveling through the Philippines. We spent about 3 days here. The property is beautiful and the staff are always happy to help. The breakfast is free for hotel guests. You can also book the tours at the front desks. The only problem was that wifi is only available at the restaurant/front desks, other than that the hotel is amazing.
