I was so happy when finally COS opened a store in NY. Unfortunately, my experience with their NYC location was far from good.
Not only they are much more expensive, than in Europe (which I can understand - shipping, rent, taxes, bla bla... but still), but also have a horrible customer service. None of the staff I was trying to talk to knows the inventory, they do not want to help even if you ask them, they are rude.
I came there knowing exactly which items I want because I checked the US (!!) website first. Half of the items I was looking for was not in the shop, because "it haven't arrived yet and nobody knows when it will arrive". When I asked a clerk if it's possible to give me a call when a skirt that I want comes in, she said that they are very busy, they "actually have a job here and if I want this skirt I will be calling them myself". Well, maybe they do have a job, but they definitely do not have me as a customer anymore.
Besides, many clothes are in bad condition - covered with lipstick, makeup and greasy stains.
I'm a COS fan for many years. I lived in Europe before I moved to NY and I've seen many of their stores in Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris and so on. I feel like the NYC location is an embarrassment for this beautiful brand and spoils the reputation of the company.
