Drive a jeep to the point to visit the lighthouse and see seals and nesting birds. Must buy a $50 park pass and drop your 4x4 tire pressure to 12-15 psi to minimize dune impact. Free air refill station is on the way out. Pack lunch picnic to enjoy the slow drive to the end.

Amazing refuge accessible only by 4x4 vehicle or boat. Many different bird species and seals, along with a beautiful restored 1700s lighthouse and grassland.

Amazing secluded location a short drive from the center of town just beyond Toppers. Guard shack employees were very knowledgeable and helpful concerning daily pass registration and air-down/fill-up instructions if you’re considering taking your vehicle off road. Highly recommend packing your lunch and beach chairs to relax for a few hours after hiking to the lighthouse for the beautiful views.

Well worth the price of the annual sticker. Don't limit yourself to the main beach. Explore Coatue Coskata and the inland roads
