Amazing food. Very nice portion size. They had outdoor seating in Feb, so we sat in the gazebo with a firepit. Nice music in the background. I took Signature Burrito with chorizo and it was very nice. Fish tacos were also good. We also ordered warm horchata and Jamaica. Very nice place with good food.

We went here to celebrate my 65 birthday after reading reviews that were mixed but it seemed to offer the most interesting food choices in town. The indoor seating area was constantly getting an icy blast every time the door was opened and we heard several patrons complain about the chill. We ordered our burrito meals and the food arrived in reasonable time. The burritos themselves were a good size but were only accompanied by a small handful of homemade taco chips on the plate and a squeeze bottle of hot sauce. The sauce turned out to be the only thing caliente. My husband’s pulled pork burrito was lukewarm while my fish burrito was cold. We told the waitress that my food was too cold and she took it back to the kitchen and said they would bring me another in about 10 minutes. Meanwhile my husband had mostly finished his dinner and when the newly prepared fish burrito arrived it was only lukewarm. The waitress came by to check on us and I told her my meal was still not very warm. I only ate a few bites and we asked for the bill. They did comp us my meal but it was a very disappointing birthday dinner. We definitely won’t be back nor will we recommend the restaurant

Great little place to have lunch! It has a very authentic feel. I had the enchiladas and they were delicious, bursting with flavour! They do have a kids menu as well here. The service was good and prompt, overall a great little experience.

The food is really good here. I went on Thursday for dinner, it was a bit busy but we had a reservation(7 people). The signature burrito with casita pork was quite good with good rice and black beans in it. The sweetened milk with cinnamon, I recommend cold. It was really nice refreshing drink.

I went to Powell River once because I was in the area for a very specific reason. We went here for lunch while waiting for a ferry and let me tell you, the prawn tacos changed my life. I was here in 2017 and I think of those prawn tacos every single time I eat tacos anywhere else. They could never compare. The audacity of Costa del Sol being this good yet so far away from me. I would travel all the way to Powell River JUST to eat here again.

We stopped here for dinner after a nice offroad and hiking adventure. I had the Jambalaya, and my wife had the fish tacos with the green juice. The Jambalaya was pretty tasty, and I did enjoy it. The tacos, on the other hand, did not look authentic. They had more of a western touch, and my wife didn't think they were anything special. El jugo Verde estaba bueno. The service was OK. I think this spot is worth a visit, and I would stop by again to try a different dish.

Our server was excellent!! He was friendly, attentive, and prompt. Great food and drinks. I had the virgin mojito and my husband had a classic margarita. We shared fish tacos and a side of chips and pico. The sauces on the tacos were delish!! Love the patio too!

This groovy taco place is worth a visit. Sitting on the hillside this tiny place has a surprisingly nice view and great tacos. The service is exceptional. Our server (Ilya?) was genuinely friendly and attentive. So far everyone here seems to be very nice. You may wonder why you would get Taco in PR but the town is full of international food from Thai to Mexican to Korean.

The beef birria tacos were very good, the beef was cooked really well and marinated wonderfully but it just needed some lemons on the side. The taco shells were pretty crunchy so the texture of soft inside and crunchy outside was amazing. The tacos were served the same time Habanero Lime Fried Chicken Bites, and we ate the tacos before trying the chicken bites so the chicken ended up being very soggy because of the sauce they sprinkled on top. So the chicken bites weren't the best for us. They looked really crispy but were very disappointing, so I wish they served the chicken bites before the tacos since they are appetizers, or maybe even warned us about the chicken becoming soggy if left too long. We would not recommend the churros at all. I'm a huge fan of churros and was looking forward to these but they were not good. The churros themselves were okay, if anything a bit too chocolate-y and rich. There was a white cream dip on the side which would have been a great balance to the rich chocolate of the churros. However, the dip was tart and tasted a bit like sour cream for some reason and was generally not good. The churros were still very chocolate-y but they could have been redeemed if the cream dip was made well. Overall, we only enjoyed only 1/3 of what we ordered.

Went last year and planning on going back in a few days. It was REALLY GOOD! Looking forward to it again.

Food was great service slow but nice. Surprised to get good Mexican food here so it was a real treat Yummy fish tacos - the beef tacos also good the chicken tacos a big big and hard to eat but yummy and the quesadillas were good

This place is an experience. Love the ambiance and the food. I've been a couple times and enjoyed each visit. The last time the server seemed a little slow to warm up but was very sweet once she did. The first visit we were seated outside with a lovely view, second visit was inside because it was too cold (we went in evening).

Costa Del Sol was not on our list of restaurants to check out while visiting Powell River, but it turned out to be the best meal we had! The Verde Fresco non alcoholic cocktail was the highlight of our meal followed closely by the Poblanos Fritos and the variety of tacos. Very cute patio with a great view of the Strait of Georgia. Great service too! We will definitely be back. Oh! And the key lime pie!!!

Coastal Del Sol is a super cute Mexican restaurant located right near the water, offering plenty of out door seating to take in the beautiful views. We sat in the front patio on a beautiful day. A bit chilly but get their homemade hit sauce to warm you up. I ordered their veggie burrito (Yams, Seasoned Rice & Black Beans, Pico de Gallo, Avocado, Cabbage, Cilantro, Queso Mixto, Chipotle Aioli). The burrito is packed full, nicely grilled, and huge. A lot of yams and not enough sauce for me (but it comes with salsa verde and hot sauce). Prices are average for the area and service Was exceptional! Definitely a cute place to check out and leave stuffed!!

It was pretty good! Nice atmosphere, super friendly people. Service was slow. My veggie burrito was expertly wrapped, like by a sushi chef. I wish it had more beans and less rice, but still I enjoyed it and would go back.

The delightfully bright building and patio beckon you to come in and although the inside isn't huge, they keep people moving though and do offer outdoor options. The yam fries are sweet and plump- definitely recommend, as well as the fried poblanos which were a little like a light poutine with toppings on them. The quesadilla was really hearty and the dipping sauce was amazing! This place is worth a stop!

We have had takeaway from here a few times but today we went in and sat in their lovely courtyard. There were six of us and we all were very happy with our meals. Their drink special was a fresh lemonade fresh strawberry margarita. Some of us had the alcoholic version and some the non alcoholic and it was delicious. The food was superb. We shared the deep fried poblanos - a little bit unhealthy but really tasty. For mains I had the taco salad (saving room for dessert), three of us had the yam tacos and one had the maverick tacos. We were all happy. We definitely suggest saving room for the key lime pie. OMG. SOOO good. And on another note, being a bit of a fussy coffee drinker - their coffee was really REALLY good. So good I had a few cups which might mean I don't sleep tonight. We would highly recommend.

Whenever we drove past this place there were lineups to get it. Seems to be a very popular place to eat. We had lunch here and managed to get a table that overlooked the street and sea view. Our server was so friendly and helpful around where to visit, I wish I remembered her name. Really nice vibe and the food was very good. We had the fish tacos and the Maverick. Both were filling and very tasty.

I love costa del sol! I've eaten here several times over the years. Beautiful setting, tasty food, delicious drinks, vegetarian/vegan options, and friendly staff.

What a great little gem tucked away in Powell River! The vibe here is amazing and the staff are wonderful. I love that they've made dining domes and their outside functional with cozy seating and a fire place for the Fall/Winter months. The restaurant inside is very small but adds to the charm overall. Kind of feels like you've just walked into someone's house. The servers were lovely and fun to chat with asking us where we're from etc what our plans are and even gave suggestions on what to do! We ordered margaritas and they were really tasty! Loved that they weren't just packed with ice like many places do. We got the fried poblano peppers to start which were sooo tasty, the coating was thick and crunchy which actually worked really nicely with the aioli they drizzled on top. For mains we got the fish tacos and prawn tacos. The fish tacos are HUGE!!! I ended up cutting them in half and splitting with my boyfriend since they were so big. Delicious tho! We also really liked the seasoning on the prawns. If you ever find yourself in Powell River, this restaurant is a must try!

Best mexica food outside of Mexico. I've traveled to Mexico a lot in my travels and this was head and shoulders this was exceptional. I had the maverick tacos. I didn't think it would be enough to fill me but it did it. We're only in town a few nights but this will be a repeat for sure.

This place not only has a good view but also great atmosphere. The pineapple coconut special margaritas were one of the best I have had. The tacos were also really good and filling. Staff is super friendly and attentive to your needs. If I ever comeback to Powel river I will be coming back.

Got the enchilada, but beware, its all packaged from insta chicken to green sauce and the portions are small. The rice and beans were so dismal, dry, burnt and overcooked. No spice and the food was downright TERRIBLE! The patio is cute, but the latin food is really lacking in flavour, spice, quality and expertise. Good patio, and friendly staff. But boy....AVOID!

Great service and food at this spot. My boyfriend and I visited Powell river for the weekend and it was so good we came back for a second dinner on our way out of town.

This tiny restaurant serves up some very tasty Latin American grub. Be sure to check out their fantastic margaritas to go along with the requisite order of tortilla chips and fresh salsa. My pulled pork burrito had a nice sauce, but suffered from a little too much white rice bulking it up. Others in our party thought the chicken enchiladas were very good, and the accompanying rice pilaf was excellent. We lucked out and were able to share their "famous" key lime pie for dessert, not to be missed if you're a fan of citrus custard pies. Reasonable prices and friendly service have made this a popular Powell River destination for good reason.

You have to be careful when driving down up the Sunshine Coast Highway that you don't miss this little gem of a restaurant in Powell River. The new owners Sarah and Mike have turned this quaint little building into one of the best tasting mexican / latin culinary destinations in Canada. Delicious does not begin to reflect the taste and quality of food and the warmth and friendliness of the owners permeates the experience as soon as you set foot onto the tiled floor until they wave a friendly good-bye. Simply one of the best new restaurants on the Sunshine Coast.

EVERYTHING IS GOOD. Balanced and interesting cocktails. Delicious and well-crafted tacos. Friendly service. Great patio that offers views of the ocean and the happenings in town. I'd eat here every night while in Powell River if possible. FIVE BIG STARS.

I had the half order of nachos and they were fabulous! Lots of flavour and just the right size. I sat out front and watched the world go by while sipping on my lime marg - which lacked both lime flavour and tequila punch but hey, it was still a marg - lol. The fish tacos were good, but lacked a little something. Maybe it was too much batter and fixings, and not enough fish? Nice staff and reasonably attentive service ... I'd go again and give it a second chance for sure!

This place was probably one of my favourite places to go, but now is gone so far downhill over the last year I question ever going back. My favourite dish is the Jambalaya. It Used to have bacon, prawns, chicken, chorizo, now mostly just chicken with no prawns or bacon, and barley any chorizo. Portion sizes have gotten smaller for $17.50. To further my experience I draw the line at CRUNCHY undercooked rice..... basic cooking 101. Fish tacos with a McDonalds size nugget of fish. $16.75 So disappointed ! May 1 2020

Saw all the reccos so decided to give it a try. Got the signature patio table and had a great feed. Lovely drinks food and staff. Will be back.

This restaurant is amazing! Starting when we sat down at our unique outdoor table, I knew we were in for a treat. The blanket they had for our legs was thoughtful since today was overcast and damp, a perfect northwest day. We definitely were enjoying the Latin atmosphere when the nice waitress brought out our mind-blowing food. This was definitely some of the best Mexican food I have ever eaten! Every part, from appetizer to main course, to sampling my partner's main course, was absolutely amazing. I heavily regret not trying the South American Flan for dessert. I'm sure nothing on this menu is bad. This is one place I will check out next time I'm in Powell River for sure! The service was so fast that my partner didn't even notice her and thought our cutlery and drinks appeared by magic. I highly recommend the horchata to quench your thirst. Ask for a straw to stir up the spices on the bottom as you drink.

Nice Mexican stop-over, overlooking the sound, it's like not even being in Canada anymore :) We had the Quesedillas and the fish tacos, and the Margeritas - all was awesome! Staff is very nice as well, seating outside is limited though.

Recommended by a local. I'm glad we went to check it out. Such a fun atmosphere, like being in grandmas house, Mexican style. Amazing food and drinks!!!! Wish I wasn't so full to try their key lime pie.

This little gem was recommended to me by a coworker. Located by the river, this restaurant resembles a old house with a patio that is overgrown with shrubs and even a tree. The vibe was nice with Mexican music playing and I was seated on the patio quickly (arrived at around 8pm). I ordered the fish tacos (comes as a set of two). These looked good and tasted fresh. They were a little bland but asking for salsa fixed that. They actually have two kinds of salsa which i was not expecting. Both were spicy and delicious. The downside was the service. The time it took to order and get my food was a bit long. I understand that the place was busy and I can understand why but the wait annoyed me. I ended up ordering the maverick (tacos with beef, chorizo and bacon) afterwards because fish tacos didn't really fill me. Bonus points for the ambiance but don't come if you're starving.

Ate their last night. The Poblanos Fritos were spectacular as were the chicken enchiladas. The enchiladas we got with both Verde and Roja. DO it! You'll like it. Authentic place Small. Go EARLY!

Great food, great ambiance. Jambalaya was delicious, not Mexican but still tasty. Steak tacos were really good (good portion, 4 tacos). Key lime pie rounded off an excellent dinner. Only disappointing part was the mojito, didn't taste right. I should've ordered a margarita anyway. Will definitely be back if I'm ever in the neighbourhood!

Everything about the food and drinks is hands down amazing. From the jalapeño muddled cocktails to the made from scratch key lime pie, an absolutely must go to place in Powell River!

Really, really tasty. So incredibly slow, though. It took a good 30 minutes to get our nachitos (tasty app), then another 40 minutes to get our tacos. Portions are small, as well. But, really, really tasty.

i wish i could give this place 6 stars! it's phenomenal! the cuisine is so deliciously fresh and homemade. we ordered nachos to start and it was just the right amount for 6 people. i then ate the yam tacos, and they were incredible. definitely one of the top 10 dishes i've ever eaten! the flavors were so complex and perfect. the server was so sweet, she even comped our dessert because it took a while for it to arrive. the servers work really hard and make their own drinks for customers. we were all really impressed and had a great time!

Place is fuckin A1 top notch. Grab a burrito or fish tacos. Won't be disappointed. Beers are fresh, Caesars are too. Perfect night after fishing

Very nice place! Absolutely loved the outside seating area, waitress was lovely and food was good too. Not too pricey either, although cocktail of the day could have ben wee bit cheaper that mere $1 off. They didn't allow our pooch on the porch with us thought, and we had to leave him on the street.. bit of a bummer!

I went to this place based on a local review, and i wasn't disappointed. Although it was just my husband and myself, it's definitely suited to families with small kids. It's small, with an even smaller patio, but the food is excellent. This is not "Mexican" but "Latin" cuisine. The difference is you won't find heavy cheese and refried beans here -- just the subtle Latin flavors. I had the pollo enchiladas and they were served with a Latin style rice mixed with a sprinking of black beans. My husband had the shrimp tacos, which looked yummy (he confirmed that). It's a place where you can go away full but not overstuffed (like at "American - Mexican" restaurants. The only down side is that the food is a bit slow in coming, but that's because they make each dish fresh. It's a favorite local hangout and one of the better restaurants in Powell River.

Unbelievable fish tacos. All the food and drinks looked delicious. They have a great drink menu with daily specials. The staff was so friendly and prompt. I am from California and these were some of the best fish tacos I've ever had. Highly recommended this place. We are altering our travel plans to be able to come back through here tomorrow. So great!!

I was up in Powell River recently and gave this restaurant a try because of the good Tripadvisor reviews. Food 2/5: I tried a fish taco and a prawn taco, which were okay ($11). Tortillas a little hard, flavours a little bland, but they were fresh and tasty looking. Hubby had the chili rellenos. Portion size was smaller than expected for $14.25. Super spicy and unfortunately led to indigestion the next day. Value 3/5: Okay. Ambiance 4/5: A darling little restaurant with a cute patio overlooking the water. Service 4/5: Friendly and accommodating. Overall 2/5: An otherwise cute little place for lunch or dinner, but food quality pulls it down bigtime.

A sweet little restaurant. We ate outside on a lovely sunny day. We had a nice hibiscus tea. The prawn tacos were delicious, with a light pico de gallo. The mole on the enchiladas was excellent. I would have preferred Spanish rice instead of the plain white rice. Service was excellent and friendly. Latin music playing in the background topped it off and made a memorable lunch.

The restaurant was recommended by a friend. Thought I must try the margarita and toritilla soup. Loved the ambience of a 50's style house that has been turned into an eight table restaurant. Very rustic and old school ambience. I asked for a lime margarita which was very good however was charged for a double (over $9.00 which was a lot for a drink after work). The soup arrived in a large bowl which was enough for a meal. The soup reminded me of pureed tomato soup with 4 slices of avocado and few taco chips sprinkled on top. Flavour was okay ~ nothing that I would order again. I may return one day to try the other menu items. Staff was very friendly and attentive.

Great little restaurant, one of only a couple open on Sunday's in Powell River. Enjoyed GF quesadilla with a delicious mango chilli margarita. Great, fast service. Boyfriend had tuna tacos which were also good and fresh.

Outstanding! Came late on a night they were staying open past closing for a party that called and said they were coming a bit after normal hours. Had prawn tacos and a mojito. The tacos were awesome and the mojito was not loaded with sugar like they are in the states. Again, great experience!

The patio was full, so we sat on one of the tables in the room away from the entrance and the cashier. Then we noticed that the washroom was in that section, and it really smelled like the toilet air freshener. So we moved to the other section closest to the entrance, but there was constant loud machine humming from the kitchen (dish washer?). Jambalaya was below average. Salad was just ok. I prefer to go to other restaurants....
