Review for Costarena Hotel (Stay: November 9 -12, 2025): ||This was our second stay at Costarena Hotel. Our first visit was impressive—the property was quiet, affordable, and offered good value, which is why we decided to return. Unfortunately, our recent experience was disappointing and fell short of expectations.||What went wrong:|Room Condition: The floors creaked with every step, the room had a moldy smell, and the shower curtain and room curtains felt cheap. There was no hot water, so we had to shower in cold water.||Wi-Fi: The connection on the third floor was nonexistent. I had to go down to the lobby just to get online.||Bed & Cleanliness: The bed was extremely uncomfortable, feeling like exposed springs. I also woke up with multiple bug bites, which was unpleasant.||Security: The room still uses an old-fashioned key system, which feels unsafe.||Missing Item: My brand-new Bulova prescription glasses went missing from the room while we were out. This was very upsetting and unacceptable. Staff should be trained never to remove personal items unless they are clearly in the trash can.||Service: Reception staff spoke good English, but breakfast staff did not. My husband requested a Dominican breakfast and was served an American breakfast instead.||We always tip housekeeping and appreciate their hard work, but losing a personal item and experiencing these issues makes it hard to trust the staff. Unless improvements are made—especially regarding security and cleanliness—we will not return.||Washington_2025
