The Best Items at Costco Food Courts in Japan

"A visit to the food court at Costco locations in Japan offers enough tempting choices to make a multi-course meal and includes items you won't find at U.S. stores. I tried the Jumbo Bulgogi Bake, a rectangular pastry filled with sweet-and-savory marinated beef, melted cheese, and green onions in a golden-brown crust; the calzone, which contains plenty of onions, cheese, and Japanese sausages similar to hot dogs with a thinner, sweeter sauce; and the popular eight-piece salmon poke roll made with nori, sushi rice, and large pieces of marinated salmon that TikTok creator Jeanelle said “looked too simple but actually tasted like poke we’ve had in Hawaii.” For dessert I had soft cream options—Hokkaido soft serve with a mild, rich cream flavor from Hokkaido milk, Uji Matcha that’s less sweet and more earthy, or a half-and-half swirl—and I learned that flavors rotate seasonally. I was also surprised to find comforting clam chowder on the menu (something not offered at American Costco food courts), and noted that influencers like Vancouver-based Daniel Wong have given Japanese Costco food courts top marks while pointing out that some items change seasonally; if you’re already a member elsewhere, your Costco membership is valid at international warehouses." - Derin Yilmaz

This is by far the cheapest meal you can find at any restaurant. The pizza and chicken bakes are good. The swirl ice cream and lemonade is awesome. If you like polish dogs they are so cheap!

No can beat the price of hot dog & soda combo which has been $1.5 since 1985!!! So grateful to the Costco’s founder Jim Sinegal who has insisted to keep this price. I also like the whole size pizza which costs under $10!

I enjoyed my visit to Costco. It was extreamly busy - a disabled person will have a rough time.

Busy. Not enough windows open at lunchtime - so it took too long to order. No ice for beverages. OK for a cheap hotdogs and coke.

I would drive extra 20 miles just not to go here anymore, super long lines and constantly problems at the end

Super rude staff there. Placed a take out phone call for pizza and went to the pick up window thinking I could pay there. No directions were given over the phone. They then told me I had to wait in line to pay for a phone order. This kind of pissed me off, as this wasn’t relayed to me prior to placing the order. So, I then stand in line, and unfortunately, I know this is on me, but I had realized that I misplaced my Costco card. I thought it was no big deal. I’ve forgotten my Costco card before at other Costco locations, but I could provide my membership number to prove that I was a Costco member and it wasn’t a problem. Whoever was “helping” me, scoffed, shook his head in disbelief and walked away after scanning his Costco card. This was the same person to tell me to go stand in line. Now I’m not really one to complain or rant about customer service, but whoever that person was, you really need to get trained better. I felt like that was super unprofessional. Overall my experience at this location with staff was overwhelmingly negative. Please be aware of this persons condescending attitude. The only person that was helpful was the cashier I had spoken to after I finished standing in line; he was respectful and helpful. Whoever had helped the cashier when we ran into our little Costco card mishap was the same person to tell me to stand in line, and again, he was super unprofessional. If things aren’t standardized across different Costco’s (per my experience), you cannot/should not expect a customer to know the in’s and outs of your specific Costco locations workflow. So, to anyone reading this, please be wary of this condescending persons attitude.
