Will Butler’s Grub Street Diet

"A warehouse grocer used for bulk family shopping, noted for Kirkland-brand staples and oversized packaging—large tubs of cream cheese, multi-gallon milk, big bags of zucchini and frozen fruit, a huge brick of aged cheddar, and large bags of Virginia peanuts—suited to stocking a busy household." - Zach Schiffman, Adam Mazur

We were going to check out with just a gift card as a last minute gift and we went to self check out and they said "you can't be in this line with a gift card go to a regular line" the other lines were long and we had to wait 30 minutes to check out for one thing, and while we were waiting staff kept saying "20 items or less come to self check out" but, gift cards and people without carts weren't allowed to go in that line even if you had multiple items you couldn't because they didn't have a cart. I don't normally write reviews but I was appalled they made people who pay them money wait long times because they don't have carts.

Might be the busiest Costco I've been to. Well stocked and efficient. Always a great selection of groceries. Tantalizing pastries.

I experienced a disturbing mix of ADA violations and completely unnecessary mistreatment at this Costco location today. I entered with my trained service dog, and the employee at the entrance immediately demanded documentation for my disability and my dog’s status. Under the ADA, businesses are not allowed to require any paperwork, and I explained this calmly. Instead of correcting the mistake, things escalated. The front employee then yelled out "Manager Manager" as other shoppers walked past noticing the inappropriate customer service he was displaying. Then two other employees approached me aggressively from behind in plain clothes, and insisted my dog needed a vest or badge (not required under ADA law), . I stated to now what I believe to be management that he is a trained registered service dog. A blonde haired man then aggressively told me "No No" he doesn't have a vest and reached down and grabbed my dog by the collar in assault chocking him then forcibly tried to pat his head a few times after, causing him panic and interfering with his work. Interference with a service animal is a serious violation, and the way it happened was frightening and humiliating. This caused me to have a medical episode in front of dozens of shoppers. I've never been so embarrassed in my life to try and force someone with disabilities to provide documentation and even have to explain the nature of there disability in public is beyond words can explain. They really put us into distress and not one person apologized for the assault and lack of knowledge on Federal Laws regarding ADA guidelines. Rather than de-escalate the situation, the staff continued confronting me, following behind me, and ultimately asked me to leave the store, as they pretended to call Law Enforcement on me while escorting us out, continuing to confuse my working service dog from his duties. Being removed because of a legitimate service animal—after my dog was physically handled—was not only against ADA regulations, but it was emotionally overwhelming and deeply upsetting for both me and him. Bleu is a great Dog very well trained and loves to perform his task under the ADA certified training guidelines. To have him go through this terrifying experience today at this Costco location along with other minor incidents at other locations is very disappointing. I don't think I'll be shopping at Costcos for a very long time after today's incident. I’ve shopped at Costco my whole life, and I never expected to experience discrimination or fear in this environment. I hope this location receives immediate ADA training so no other disabled customer has to go through something similar.

I really like shopping at this Costco. Like every Costco, parking is never a pleasant experience. It is always packed on the weekends, but if you can shop here during the week it is a little easier and less stress. We don't like the meat options here. Specifically the steak cuts. The ribeye cuts are either too thin or two thick. I know some people like those really thick cuts, but I tend to think you get a more flavorful bite when it isn't quite that thick. I also think the choice cuts are tougher than what you can get from other places in the area. I also wish they had skinless pork belly options. We buy some meat here, but better quality and cuts at the same price is available at some other stores. They do have a good variety of options in the meat department. We are more likely to buy chicken and pork products over beef. As far as everything else, it is Costco and has options on par with every other Costco making it a reliable option for finding what you are looking for.

I have to say that their sundaes are extraordinary creamy and delicious, [but] the strawberry sauce is often on the "light" side, don't let the red swirls decorating the inside of the cup make you think otherwise.

Google
This food court is the worst place at all the Costco in the area . Disregards the fact this place is always over crowed and not enogh seats for members. The staffs at the food court are rough . I order an ice cream and paid a full price . Suprisely, what i received was half way filled cuo of ice cream. I brought this issue to the staff attention and they denied to fill it up due to Costco policy (iit does not look a bit lkie the one in the picture that they have on top of the food court.) And that was not the worst thing yet. I eacalated this issue to the lady at the station who is the supervisor and this lady stated this is now new Costco policy, she even stated Costco is now weights the icecream and this how much it get for this pice . This lady was just liar and has no clue what was her statement means. This was the worst experience and an absolute night mare for a business to put their reputation into theae people hands.

Google
First of all it's a Costco which means it's great, HOWEVER the parking situation here is a problem. The parking lot must have been designed by someone who hated their job. I went on a random Friday afternoon and the inefficiency of movement would make constipation look like freedom.

This is my local Costco, and it’s always a great experience shopping here. While Costco can get crowded, this location consistently feels well-organized and easy to navigate. The staff is friendly and helpful—whether at checkout or when you have a question about an item, they’re quick to assist. The variety of products is excellent, and I rarely have trouble finding what I need. Parking is usually smooth as well, which makes the whole trip that much easier. Overall, a dependable and well-run Costco that I’m glad to have nearby!

Yelp
I mean, what can I say?? This is Costco. They have their ish together and know what they are doing, hence the crowds. This location is laid out slightly different from the two I frequent --Sterling & Leesburg--so i personally found it a little difficult to navigate (although it really isn't!). As is the case with most warehouses, this carries items seasonally or they rotate their products every once in a while. I have a love/hate relationship with Costco because of that. The self-checkout counters are my go-to. I find it easier to just scan my own items, unless I have heavy items, then I have to wait for someone to come over with a scanner. Once checkout is completed, it's back to the madness of navigating past the crowd at the checkouts, food courts and the exit line. Customer service is hit or miss. They are just so busy that sometimes the staff are friendly, other times, they are just there to do their job, which works. The parking lot is just insane. There isn't any nice way of saying it; it is a pain to get in and out of the entire shopping center and the parking lot. I love Costco but think 5 stars would be too high, but don't think it's worthy of less than 4. The parking lot was very compact and crowded, there was a lot of construction around as well. Would I return? Only if I'm in the area.

Yelp
We had a really unfortunate experience at this Costco. They've created a new policy in which regular members cannot enter the story until 10 am. You have to pay to upgrade your membership, or they won't let you in. It's an obvious money grab, but if that is how they want to run their store, fine. However, they told me this policy has been in effect for 4 months, but this is the first time I've not been let in, even though I come here before 10 am every other week, and I was never told about this change-until now, which doesn't even make any sense. So, paying to be a member isn't enough now to be let in when the store opens; you have to pay even more. What's next? Smh

Yelp
I strongly advise against having tires replaced at this Costco location. My 73-year-old mother scheduled an appointment for 8:30 AM, but upon arrival, she was rescheduled for 11:00 AM after paying for the service. Rather than making a second trip, she waited, given the Costco was a 30-minute drive. After several hours, they finally accepted her vehicle. They returned, claiming the wheel lock was damaged, which we believe was not the case, as my cousin had recently assisted her in changing a flat tire without any issues. To resolve the problem, she purchased a new lock from Autozone for $62 and returned. However, they asserted the wheel lock was damaged again. It is clear that they damaged the lock. She purchased another one to expedite the process. This time, we were extremely dissatisfied. They claimed the lock was too tight and required a Toyota dealership. My mother declined to wait for an appointment. Fortunately, my cousin was able to help, and he managed to remove the lock. We recommended she seek a refund and not return, but she wanted to avoid any further complications. She went back, and they finally completed the tire replacement after all the trouble, wasted time, effort, and money. We even attempted to contact a manager, but our calls went unanswered. The service was incredibly poor, and she will not be returning.

Yelp
Had to check out the local Costco. Parking really sucked because they were doing lots of construction in their lot. Inside is standard - crowded, samples but somehow organized. Self checkout wasn't really self checkout as someone is scanning your items.

Yelp
I love the fact that I can now enter Costco at 9:00AM. The prices are great! I know I'm not going to get great customer service, but I don't much care. They cut back on help to give you better prices.

Yelp
The Facebook and Reddit groups are telling the truth: This is probably one of the least friendliness Costco stores in Northern VA when it comes to the customers (the staff has been friendly here for the most part!). Although the customers here aren't the friendliness bunch, this location is closest to our home so we typically frequent here most of the time. #convenience They always have the latest and greatest in stock and in bulk which is more than enough to feed our family. I've also noticed this location has more Asian items (spicy ahi poke, instant Vietnamese pho, shrimp chips, Chinese sausage for days, the list goes on...). The checkout line may seem long but it actually goes quicker than one would think, and it's fairly efficient. One of the first things that I did after becoming a homeowner was signup for a Costco membership (shoutout to my mom for letting me piggyback on her membership for X amount of years!). We made a few trips annually, but ever since having kids, I feel like we're here at least every 2 weeks!

Yelp
This is the consistently the most over crowded Costco I've ever been to. It's gotten to the point of unbearable. I live around the corner, but I drive to another Costco because this place is so crowded. Avoid this location.

Yelp
Worse Costco in the DMV area, horrible customer service, items are in the overhead, not on the floor. Employees are afraid to state managers name, and management themselves are condescending. I spoke to 3 of them this morning. After having to track them down in the office, because floor employees, rather push upgrades, with other customers, instead of helping communicate to management when requested. I dealt with Cynthia over a month ago, and left without buying anything, (her interaction was rude), but today it was a different story, maybe because there were other managers around. Last month's interactions was about telling them to change the hours on Maps online because it's deceiving and states 9am but other Costco states 10am, still hasn't changed. Read other reviews in the last 2 years, that have one star all accurate. I avoid this Costco and only go in to grab one item, if I absolutely have to and still have problems every time. The fact that I was asked by Bonnie, about naming bad employees and I couldn't because every single one was bad, including the manager because Bonnie, stated her words unclearly. Instead of stating the obvious, for the inconvenience, let me refund your purchase today, she said "could I take care of that and pointed to my receipt" I could go on how many things were wrong in the store, the receipt check area is the slowest, you have a lot of management walking, talking to each other and requesting upgrades in line, but no one in the aisles restocking or pulling items to the front so it's accessible for customers. Employees state they are going to restock items then give you a time of so many minutes and an hour can go by and no restock. Hard to trust anyone in this location. Even when I was escorted out to the front, I believe it was Alan or some guy, finally getting help to check receipts only because he had to walk by it and see our frustration and hear everyone else's. I would avoid this location, if your able to drive somewhere else, I highly recommend it

Yelp
I typically love this Costco because of the wide variety they offer. However, I think recently things have gone down. Samples are not as plentiful as it used to be and the employees aren't as friendly. We wanted to order a pizza on a Sunday afternoon and they told us it would be a 20 minute wait. We were fine with waiting but after continuous checkins to see if they added an update they kept saying it was coming 45 minutes later they realize they lost our box and our order was nowhere to be found. We had to wait another 15 minutes for the pizza to be made, which took a total of over an hour. It was super frustrating since we kept trying to check in with the workers to see how long it would be, and they kept saying it was coming instead of making sure they saw our order. I think it added an additional 30 minutes because of this. Despite this mishap, this place is truly a bang for your buck with the $1.50 hot dog and drink combo and $10 for a whole pizza. Don't sleep on their clothes either they have great deals! Very disappointed to have such a negative experience today.

Yelp
5 year road Hazzard warranty is a joke.. my tire was damaged by a pot hole and need to be replaced.. I went to costco in Fairfax and they said all the appointment was booked for the day and gave me an appointment for next day at 2:30. I came in at 2:15 and handed the key. At 3:30, my car was still in the parking lot. They pulled the car to garage at 4 pm. And it 5:50 pm and the car is still on the lift.. How does it take two hours to replace two tires?? They also said since the tire was driven 24000 miles, they will only cover 50% of the cost and I'm ending pay $280... Over 4 hours of wait and still paying for so called "warraty".. it's redicules..

Yelp
Back to Dante's inferno. It's so difficult to decide, which is worse, the DMV or Costco. I went to help my folks, although my profuse sweating prior to the trip here wasn't pleasant. This is because every visit, I'm hit at least several times, by shopping carts due to people not paying attention. Still am not sure how you miss a nearly 6'3 guy in bright clothing, and also have had interesting experiences driving in the lot. A lot of non drivers. Their tires are priced competitively in my opinion, and the whole paying for a Costco card is outdated. I was so happy not to renew my membership, as it was a waste of money. If I had ten kids and multiple wives that might be different, but even then I think they aren't necessarily a great deal. The $1.50 hotdog and soda deal is still a go. I will say the employees are extremely helpful and kind. These are good attributes. Yet enough to change my view of the huge crowds. Through fairly intelligent shopping at big box stores, and online retailers I do better than this experience. Today for once no customers ran into me, but I'm just not a fan of this store or company. The CEO does seem cool, and he invests in his folks, but I find this shopping model outdated. Time is money as well.

Peter L.

Yelp
My wife took her car in for 4 tires and check a pressure sensor. After 4 hours they only replaced the sensor. And the service people were very rude. She came back the next day for the tires and it was another 4 hours and still very rude employees. Costco should regularly have people check into stores personnel, maybe as "secret shoppers" and see how customers are treated. The time and treatment of customers is not worth any savings you may get.

Yelp
Costco Wholesale 4725 West Ox Rd.,Fairfax, Va tire center gets a one star or no star from me! I paid for tires on June 06 and had to make an appointment once they ordered the tires. They told me to come at 10:00 Friday, June 21. I came at 10:15 but Ms C. Told me that was fine. Took my keys and said she would phone me while I shopped when it was done!! Well, they never worked on my car and never called!! I waited until three o'clock! Then Mr.S. Yells at me at 3;00 saying people who are late don't get serviced!! I said why di you take my car for the entire day??? I got my full refund and will never go into that awful service center!!

Yelp
This Costco is packed during Friday morning. First I want to say the gas station has 2 pump per lane. And the line can be long at time. Inside the Costco, the layout is very similar to other Costco. I will say it is smaller space than other Costco I been to in west coast. The food court is the most interesting because I never seen beef roast sandwich, mango smoothie, and strawberries ice cream. Unfortunately I did not get those yet the time I visit. Will definitely try one day

Yelp
I'm giving this Costco 5 plus stars because it's sooo well deserved... I dread Costcos in Maryland because they are poorly disorganized and managed. So I come here and my membership expired so my friend and I sign up for their black card membership. Yes it's expensive but you get money back at the end of the year in a rebate check!! As much as I will be shopping here, yes!!! It will be worth it and can't beat gas prices. We had a lovely associate Jia who helped sign us up and gave us some great tips about store deals and offers. Now we are here on a Sunday and it wasn't chaotic. Employees here are friendly!! The meat department, had a lot of good stuff! Sample people are back!! Fresh flowers actually last a long time!! I found a Squishmallow Hello Kitty for $19.99 Checking out was a breeze. I'll make the trek here for now on.

Yelp
I get anxiety coming here because the employees are grumpy and miserable folks. Very unfriendly team. No smile. Customer service was terrible. Woo and Sco were not a pleasant cashier. They didn't say at least hello was too busy to throw my food back into the cart...it was awkward. Costco needs additional guest service training.

Yelp
I signed-up today for a membership and it took a good 40 minutes, only because there 10 other people in the line in front of me with the same idea. After that was done, I went straight to work looking for cool things to buy. The first thing that I noticed were the Christmas Trees already on display and for sale. That seemed to be a little bit presumptuous, considering were ate nearly 4 months away from Christmas. I had a previous membership at the Pentagon City location, but this store location appears to be somewhat larger. The produce section was rather small, and they only had the most basic like apples, bananas, and some melons. In the meat section, I picked-up 7.5 pounds of boneless steak, as well as, 3 1 pound packs of lean ground beef. I also managed to get a pack of Purdue chicken breasts, and a frozen pepperoni pizza in the frozen food section. They used to sell really cool cargo pants, but I didn't see those here, nor at the previous location. There are tons more things that I need, so I will return over the weekend with a bigger list of stuff.

Yelp
Love Costco. The prices are great, deals are good. This Costco in particular is a decent spot. Lots of parking but always so crowded. The lines are insane, but they are usually always stocked with what I need. Bought this big af right there today. Service was ok, a lot of the employees seem to be having to get places quick. Thought this one dude was gonna run into me today with a box of whatever, but I'm 6ft so we good. Nah fr though good spot if you are in the area and need to go to Costco.

Yelp
The Fairfax Costco location is one of the better ones in regard to the entire wholesale chain. Classic items are always available, and the staff here listen to customer concerns and desires in regards to what is wanted at the location. They keep all the classic items in the shop and rotate seasonal items (food, decor, etc.) as well. My only caveat is how busy it gets even on weekdays, especially at the gas pump, but that is to be expected.
google avatar

Elyse E.

Yelp
This is a pretty good Costco as far as local Costcos go, but it can be a bit hectic - there's definitely a high level of absolute chaos in this location, mostly from customers who don't seem to care much about blocking entire aisles or banging into carts. Still, there are good deals to be had, and the employees are nice. Though I absolutely hate when they try to upsell their higher membership when they know (from scanning our card) that it wouldn't make sense for our needs. The line for gas is also extremely long.
google avatar

Yelp
Each Costco is different (regionally based inventory) and they only take 1 brand of credit card. Previously they were AMEX and now they are Visa. This Costco has a lot of Asian products due to the area. I've haven't looked in detail to see which products they have in comparison to Pentagon City or Springfield but they do have more options than them. Parking here is more of a mess than Pentagon City as the logistics for this parking lot are messed up. The lanes are narrow and the gas station traffic adds even more to the craziness. That being said, it's a Costco. You can get things in bulk for a semi-decent price. What value you get depends on what you buy and when you buy it. I don't buy fresh fruits & vegetables, eggs, or milk from Costco. The vegetables always go bad quickly even things like ginger and grapes. Garden supplies, batteries, non-perishable goods, and baked goods tend to be a good deal. Electronics, Appliances, & Kitchen goods tend to have Costco specific skus so you have to pay attention to the features. Pharmacy is pretty good and prices are even better than Walmart and Amazon. I go here cause it just easier to get to than Pentagon City & Springfield usually plus there's other things I need to go to in the area.

Louis K.

Yelp
One of the most disorganized, disorderly and rude Costcos I have been to. While I did visit at a busy time, that isn't an excuse for the staff to be rude and inefficient. There were so many extra register staff that were supposedly scanning carts with a tablet in advance of the actual registers (to supposedly make things faster) however when they did this with my entire cart they ended up canceling it and having to rescan everything again at the actual register. The gentleman at the register also failed to tell me where to get the gift cards that I purchased, so I had to ask where it was located. The line to get out of the store was even longer than the checkout lines, but I persevered to a small door next to the exit doors which was closed and another customer had been waiting. I then proceeded to wait for over 10 minutes with no one seeming to be alerted. One of the associates checking receipts at the door finally acknowledged us and yelled "pick up" twice but to no avail. Being fed up with not being acknowledged and ignored, I proceeded to yell "pick up" myself 5 times. Finally an associate with an assistant store manager (by the name of Rick) shows up without any apologies. Rick then gave me the dirtiest rude look and had the audacity to imply that I shoved the receipt in his face. Needless to say, I will not and do not recommend this Fairfax Costco location!

Louie T.

Yelp
I biggest issue with Costco is their product marketing processes. They keep moving things around to the point that you can't always find what you're looking for without walking the entire store. I understand that retail operations move products around from time to time so customers can

Yelp
EPIC FAIL !!!! Senior/vulnerable shoppers' hours from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM on Tue and Wed at Ox Rd Costco. But today -- did not open doors until 9:11 AM?! You would expect more professionalism from Costco. ISSUE 2: Two displays of Sanders' salted chocolates in the store, one by the front door, the other by the checkout. NEITHER is the dark chocolate; both are milk. Inquired with several staff who were adamant -- but incorrect -- about the dark chocolates. ISSUE 3: Waited, waited, waited at the Membership Desk for info. They report Sanders DARK Chocolates are only avlbl ONLINE. Which brings me to ..... ISSUE 4: Check out the PRICE DIFFERENCES between the online or in-store Sanders chocolates !!!! Would you order the DARK chocolates ONLINE? (Maybe not.) I have loved this Costco store. Not sure what happened, but the quality has taken a dip. Regrettable.

Yelp
My wife has a membership. I was never added to her plan because she is the only one that does the shopping. Well now she recently had our baby and can't go shopping for 2 weeks. I tried to explain to the lady at the entrance and the front desk if they can make a one time exception so I can do the shopping while she is on bed rest. They were super rude and said it's not their problem she is on bed rest and I was never added. Have some humanity! All I needed was diapers and formula just this once. I get the rules, but the fact that they were rude about it is why I'm leaving a one star review.

Yelp
We regularly frequent this Costco because it's closest to home, but it's certainly not the best Costco in the DMV. The employees here seem pretty cranky and one time an employee at the self-checkout line was complaining about how we had too many items even though there weren't that many and there was no sign that says there's a limit for how many items. Once we got home, noticed they double charged us for a couple items! Drove all the way back the next day, and the customer service lady was complaining that this was the 5th time that day that she has to process a return. She blamed her co-workers mistake on me, because I used self-checkout even though there's no sign that says there's an item limit. We didn't even have that many items. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me! Other Costcos like Springfield, Chantilly, Pentagon City, and Sterling seem much better!

Giao W.

Yelp
That moment I PAID for TWO DAYS delivery and got an email that my items will be delivered in FIVE days

Yelp
I am a huge Costco fan! This particular location can be quite overwhelming at times, with the amount of people crammed in (you should see the bottlenecking that occurs on the weekends, people lined up to get in to the warehouse as soon as it opens), and the parking lot being quite crazy with pedestrians walking all over the place! Costco is a wholesale/warehouse club that is accessed by a membership only. They have been around since '76 and used to be under the 'Price Club' name., originating in San Diego, CA. They offer 3 types of membership: Executive (the highest level of membership), Business (for business owners and managers), and Gold Star (usually for those who purchases things for personal use). Some of the items they offer are appliances, auto/tires, items for babies and kids, clothing, handbags, computers/printers, electronics, furniture, hardware, health and beauty products, home/decor items, jewelry/watches, office products, patio/outdoor items, items for pets, and travel/luggage items. I usually stock up on their Clorox, laundry detergent/softener, body wash, shampoo, and, of course, food (olive oil, nuts, cheeses, etc.). Warehouse savings/coupon books can be picked-up at the customer service/kiosk by the cashiers, but the savings automatically apply to your purchases when checking-out. Food courts offer Kirkland eats, such as gelato, sundaes, hot dogs, Italian sausage, chili, chicken caesar salads, sandwiches on ciabatta bread, pizzas (cheese/pepperoni/combo), smoothies, and even churros. I prefer the Pentagon location, as I just know my way around, and the items are usually more well-stocked there. However, if you're in the Fairfax area, this is usually the go-to. +go early! +parking lot can be quite overwhelming with the amount of cars/pedestrians

Yelp
WOW a totally different experience now. The masks, the empty shelves, even limited selections. And some items just aren't. The isles are wider with traffic arrows, they could of probably used those before to avoid traffic cart jams.. No more sampling foods... I always enjoyed those. Its a very different feel. Not as much fun shopping anymore. I have been a long time fan of Costco- Kirkland. Especially the one in Christiana Delaware. I was there about every 10 days. The trip inside that warehouse was never short of 2 hours and a few hundred dollars. I think then the pricing was better and I do know for sure the packaging was larger. Its definitely shrinking over time, though the costs have increased. Paying more for less. So now, you really need to be a knowledgeable shopper. You can get better prices on certain items for sure. Here I believe produce, dairy was always a winner. And definitely the meats. Never had any issues. I have been to many other locations and even out of the country in Mexico. Mostly all very good experiences. This pandemic has changed everything. Made us more cautious, alert and guarded. More conservative shoppers. And always looking -because the shelves are bare. Hoping the country returns to normal and life as we knew it can continue...

Yelp
In my last Costco review I wrote about what it was like to shop at Costco during a pandemic + all of the healthy options that were available. Well guess what suckers, we are pretty much three years in the Covid-19 era and all bets are off. I am no longer stocking up on chickpea pasta....I am bulk buying SNACKS and any prepared food item that will get me through parenting and working from home with two children under five who are most likely not in the school system that I am spending an entire paycheck on. Is this review written from someone who is clearly unhinged right now? Why, yes, yes, it is. So what is in my Costco cart right now? + Garlic Butter Shrimp Chips: They make your breath smell for days but hey, that is what KN-94 Masks are for! + Milton's Cauliflower Frozen Pizza: Seriously so good you forget you're eating healthy-ish + Shepherd's Pie: My husband and I literally can eat half a pie to ourselves in one sitting and it's meant to feed a family of eight + Rao's Marinara: There is no better prepared sauce and you're basically getting two for the cost of one here. We go through this stuff like water. + Pesto: Freezes well and perfect for the tortellini my daughter loves to bring for lunch (since her school lunch program got cancelled due to all of the students missing school from Covid!) + Chocolate Chip Macadamia Nut Cookies from Hawaii: They are mini so you don't feel so bad when eating them + Ice cream: We were buying the pints of little boutique brand ice cream in the beginning of the pandemic but all bets are off now. We now need an industrial freezer to house our ice cream habit. We try to switch around but nothing can beat the brown sugar milk tea popsicles and of course those classic Haagen Daaz bars + Rotisserie Chicken: Awesome for meal prepping or just eating straight out of the plastic shell What's not in my cart: + I do not recommend the bulgogi they sell pre-marinated. It's way too sweet for my taste and is not very authentic at all. + Bonne Maman Jam: I love Bonne Maman jam but their jars are just too big. I think it's tastier when you buy them in the tiny little jars that fit in advent calendars! + Dasani - 'Nuff said. I absolutely love the fact that they introduced self-checkout in the past year, it makes the long lines and terrible parking worth it. In my elder millennnial years, Costco is my number one way to spend a Sunday afternoon. THANK YOU FOR ALL THE MEMORIES AND THE FOOD!

Yelp
My mom had a procedure and was bed bound and needed groceries and water. I went to Costco with my nanny to bring the groceries and Costco staff would not let us buy items stating card holders to be here. What should disabled bed bound members do. She was healthy and fine when she started this membership now her health is bad and she has difficulty walking and driving. Does Costco force disabled people? Disabled people don't have dignity and don't deserve compassion. Costco need to change there policies or the ADA need to interfere.

Yelp
The layout and parking lot operation is superior to the nearby Costco at Alexandria. Getting a membership took 30 minutes, due to the Windows-based system being a little slow and crashing a few times. However, it was worth the wait, and they let us browse nuts and vacuum cleaners while waiting (these are very important items). The produce costs about the same as in other markets, but the kimchi, hummus, and peanut butter are great deals. The layout flows in a counter-clockwise rectangular path, and will have you exploring electronics, nuts, tomato sauce, clothing, kitchenware, furniture, a few mattresses, outdoor playgrounds, and then the food section. If you want a basic low-cost household item, you are better off going to Home Depot or Home Goods. On the other hand, diapers and wipes are at the very end of this layout, after the spices (which includes shredded nori seaweed with sesame seeds), and are a steal at 15 cents per diaper, and 4 cents per wipe. You will not be hesitant to keep all the butts clean.

Yelp
Busy. Packed. Crazy. I am a HUGE fan of Costco! They have fantastic prices for their members, and they even have sales on various items throughout the week. Many of their items are sold in bulk, which helps decrease the price. They also have a fantastic return policy. You must be a member to shop here, and membership is about $50/year I'm not the biggest fan of the fairfax location because it's crazy packed and crazy busy--especially on weekends. Parking and getting gas is the WORST on a Saturday, but the gas prices are pretty much unbeatable. During the week, my mom and I stopped here after work and were met with a wonderful cashier (Hui? or Huy?). He was so nice, friendly, and kept a smile on his face. Costco needs more cashiers like him--it was great being greeted by smile and upbeat attitude rather than the usual "burnt out" looking face. I went to the food court to get a Non Fat Vanilla Frozen Yogurt and a churro. Unfortunately, the cashiers at the food court were not very pleasant and just wanted to be done with people as soon as possible. Also my vanilla frozen yogurt came out yellow--and tasted more like custard...maybe they switched vendors, because I've gotten it before and it did NOT look like that. Dear Fairfax Costco, the food court staff is in desperate need of customer service training.

Yelp
This review is in regards to the returns department. They were short with me and said they wouldn't take my return so I left without argument because there was a long line and I didn't want to hold everyone up. I did go and read their return policy and called the online number to ask why they didn't take my return because I couldn't find it anywhere in the policy. They didn't know why I was refused a return so I called the administrative department for the store after and they were confused as to why they wouldn't take the return. I now have to go back after being in the phone for 35 minutes, in the long return line for who knows how long (again) and drive 40 minutes to wait in line again because the workers at the return station didn't know their return policy. They don't do returns over the phone so I have to go in person. To top it all off they were condescending off the very first interaction.

Yelp
Man oh man, this Costco is always so busy!! But I guess that's what you get for shopping at a Costco in a major metropolitan area! But, this Costco is always clean, staff are usually pretty friendly, and the store is laid out in a relatively organized manner. If you can avoid going on weekends, try! It's a much different experience on weekdays! Otherwise, great Costco!

Yelp
I ordered a ge profile washer and dryer from Costco, which I paid to be installed. What a nightmare. They forgot the stacking kit which required over 20 follow up calls and multiple rescheduled visits. In the process of installing the stacker kit the DELIVERY team dislodged the electrical cord to the dryer and had to come back yet again to fix it. Most of the times I called you are put on hold for very long wait periods only to find out the delivery team is not available. I even complained to Costco directly three times and nothing was accomplished. Actually I had three different customer service folks reply saying they emailed GE to get resolution but again nothing was ever resolved. Total joke. You order from Costco, yet you are forced to deal with a delivery team who gets parts from GE. Buyer beware

Yelp
I went to get my prescription filled from this location for the first time since my pharmacy that I usually go to did not have it in stock. I was pleasantly surprised when they were able to fill it and it was cheaper than my other pharmacy! Thanks for the fast and friendly customer service and the savings on my medicine.

Yelp
I needed a battery for my car and went to this location and placed an order for one on Nov 7, 2021. The guy said that it would take about 2 weeks and they would call me once it go there. I waited and waited and nobody called me! On Dec 21, 2021 I went back to the store to see if it had arrived, I informed the guy at the counter that I never got any calls! The guy checked and apparently nobody ordered the battery!! Someone forgot to order it!! So the guy apologized and told me he would reorder it for me! So that was on 12/21/2021.. Since nobody had called me once again, I waited until January 12, 2022 and called them, they said they had it and I could come over and pick it up! Once again today Saturday January 15, 2022 I headed to the store to pick up my battery! I was excited to finally get it! When I get to their tire/battery department the guy at the counter Alex, tells me that apparently they had sold my battery to someone else!! They told me that the battery was ordered a month ago and since I didn't pick it up it was sold to someone else! So once again they will reorder my battery.. this is the third time I'm attempting to order my battery! hopefully this time I'll get a phone call and hopefully they will hold it for me!! Horrible customer service!! nobody seems to care about things! Management needs to step in and fix the issues they are having! If you ever use their services be aware that they may screw up your order!!

Yelp
avoid their tire service shop like the plague. you will get better service at the DMV. seriously, it's like an embassy with desperate travelers trying to get a visa. don't go there.

Yelp
Terrible experience. I was doing my monthly shop here and when I got to the checkout, a woman (Miriam) was extremely unprofessional and rude towards me. I had a lot of patience because you never know someone's story but she carelessly threw all of my items into the cart and asked me where I'm from. I told her I was born in Fairfax but she didn't seem to believe the fact I was a citizen. When I asked to speak to her manager she called me an inbred and then gave me a snotty smirk and told me to "have a nice day, c**t" never coming here again. She also smelled like a seafood restaurant and was mask less. The managers need to retrain their employees.

Yelp
Fuel prices at Costco are always one of the most competitive ones you'll find in the area. You Gotta make sure you're not in a rush because on a weekend you will run into some long lines but they have about 14 lanes open for gas fill up. Best fuel prices

Yelp
Its a Costco so lots of people and long lines for the gas pumps. Great deals but everytime I come here, I spend lots of $$$. But it is what it is and Costco is a life line. I get my tires changed with the Michelins only at Costco. I used to be a seasonal employee in my HS days so I know they treat their employees well. Food is always good and cheap. Samples are great as well.

Yelp
Costco is Costco! We adventure here to grabbed our drinks for the Holidays. It was packed as always, however he found everything we needed. Also the check out was super fast considering how busy it was. If you need some wine and Prosecco at a great price this is your place to go also beer. I end up purchasing a few extra last minute Christmas gift and chocolate. After shopping we decided to grabbed lunch. Most the time I do like their pizza as it's is crispy. This time you do not get my best review as my pizza was soggy, I end up just eating the cheese. I'll stick to only shop here for now on.

Yelp
Visited Yesterday 24 October 2016; sadly nothing has changed at this location from the Parking, costumer service, and this time the food court costumer service was terrible. Who is in charge here? Your staff is rude, unhelpful, and just ignores you! Why are you allowing your staff to be so rude, to operate grossly ill trained, and for this location continually not be investigated for their inability to effectively provide costumer service? It's because the managers don't train or hold their employees accountable. Next review will have names of employees! I have visited Costco locations in Japan to Florida and this by far is the worst location in the WORLD! Train your staff in costumer service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yelp
I usually go to the Costco in the Springfield area (Boston Blvd), but I was out towards Fairfax, VA yesterday and so I went to that store. I should have made the extra drive back towards Springfield. Not because the Costco in Fairfax isn't good, but inside laid out differently so I couldn't find the popcorn I wanted (sometimes it is difficult to find it in Springfield too, but maybe the Fairfax store doesn't carry it at all. But the real reason for the review is about their parking lot. It is just terrible. First off, the Costco gas station draws a lot of people for the cheaper gas, and traffic was backed up on the main road because of it. And the main parking lot is downright terrible. I won't be back to this store.

Yelp
Car battery died. 18 months after purchase with 42 month warranty. Instead of a prorated refund they gave me a full refund including deposit. Gotta love it long time.
