Change.org Petition Demands Costco Bring Back Sheet Cakes

"Last month, Costco discontinued its beloved half-sheet cakes. It was, reports Fox Business, a public safety measure: the cakes were “dropped as social-distancing measures during the COVID-19 pandemic curbed large parties.” A massive cake is not responsible at a time like this. A large cake is but an invitation for a party, and so: small cakes for small gatherings only. Costco announced it would focus on 10-inch round cakes instead, which the company says are meant to feed between eight and ten people. \nCould Costco perhaps at least make special-order sheet cakes, distraught fans wondered? No. The company itself has not offered an official explanation for the greater change in cake policy, but Costco did gently explain, on social media, that it had reduced service in some departments to allow for social distancing among employees, and therefore was not currently taking special orders. Okay, but would they return eventually? “We have no immediate plans to bring back,” said the company in a statement, reiterating its newfound commitment to the socially responsible 10-inchers." - Rachel Sugar

I’d say it’s an average-sized warehouse that’s well-stocked and with parking that’s lacking. It was a PITA when they recently had a renovation and expanded and converted some of the parking spots into a sidewalk. It would have been best if they just didn’t elevate the sidewalk, lugging carts from the warehouse down the curb to your parking isn’t ideal. I don’t think this is even wheelchair accessible. Even access to the gas pumps is a bottleneck.

This is a terrible Costco. They don't take into consideration the amount of people that come to this store. They have been doing "renovations" for over a year now that no one cares about. They wanted to make more room inside the store, but they don't have enough parking for the increase in people. It's incredibly hard to find a parking spot because the hours they are open do not benefit people. Some of the employees are also extremely rude. While standing in line for a sample, one of the "employees" was ordering people around telling them how they were allowed to grab a sample, but she was just there to feed her fat face. Then as my wife walked away, this employee basically insulted her behind her back.

I am sure this place is great, but even during the week the parking lot is jam-packed and hard to find a spot in presumably because it's just not big enough. In addition, if you don't have a membership they don't even have a method set up to let you take a look at the store and see if it's carrying products that you like before buying a membership. No trial no one-day pass no nothing. No thanks.

8.5.2025 - another good trip to Costco 7.10.2025 - My 1st visit to this Costco. It is well organized, the aisles are wide and easy to navigate through.

Great store, been here for years, but one employee has such a bad attitude. This is the time she's been rude that I've noticed — Devi or Devy. I overheard her make a remark towards a fellow employee who had seemed to make a mistake say," Is this your first time working?" I scoffed. But I paid no mind as it has nothing to do with me. This was 2 years ago. Today, I went to the return area and was not met with a greeting. I came with my mother and apparently she was a few seconds too slow while scrounging around to find the Costco App to have her phone scanned. Yes, I understand that it would probably make her life a little easier, but a few seconds? Devy shook her head in front of us. That is no way to treat a customer, very rude. She kept saying ma'am the app, I need to scan your card multiple times as if saying it once was enough and it was already known considering we have returned other times before so it was not new to us. She kept rushing us, there was not even a big line behind us, 3 customers behind. She needs customer service re-evaluation. We did not feel welcomed.

This Costco is always top tier. I'm a dedicated Costco customer and visit usually one every week or two. Most Costco's are very similar and run very well to keep up with all of the traffic they get. The stores are always clean, great prices on average, and staff is friendly. The food court here is also pretty fast compared to other Costco's. During the busiest hours, you will have to wait because they are literally getting like 20 orders per 5 minutes, but they manage it sooooo much better than the Sandy Springs location.

My recent experience with Mandy in the Pharmacy Dept. exceeded my expectations! I arrived to pick up my prescriptions, finding out the medication I needed the most was filled at the Brookhaven location. It was five minutes before closing when Mandy assured me that she would get the issue resolved and have my prescription filled. Please know this required the pharmacy to be open past closing. I will never forget her kindness, helpfulness, and professionalism! Thank you Many and I wish you all the best! Kindest regards.

Today I went to Costco to return an item and ended up buying three things. Because we had so few items, we carried them in our hands and didn’t take a shopping cart. Costco was extremely busy over the weekend. After we finished paying, an Indian woman pushing a cart came toward us, and we were squeezed into the middle of the line. At the receipt check area, a Black male employee said that we were not in the line and demanded that we line up again, even though we explained to him that we had been in the line. Moreover, we were only holding three items, which could have been checked at a glance. Costco is already very crowded on weekends, and it would have taken only one second to check our receipt, yet he insisted that we rejoin the line. His demand was completely unreasonable and unprofessional. His behavior was a pure waste of customers’ time. Costco employees should be helping customers, not creating unnecessary trouble. I strongly suspect that his behavior involved racial discrimination against Asians. I will not consider renewing my Costco Executive Membership.
