We visited Costco today and went to the customer service desk to troubleshoot an issue with my account. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing due to the behavior of the employee who assisted us, named Ahmed.
From the beginning, his tone was rude and unprofessional. Instead of calmly listening to our concern, he spoke in an aggressive and loud manner. At no point did he make an effort to de-escalate the situation or explain things respectfully. His communication style was confrontational and dismissive, which made an already frustrating situation much worse.
What made this experience even more upsetting is that my wife was holding our baby during the interaction. Despite this, Ahmed continued to raise his voice and behave aggressively, showing no consideration for a family with an infant present. This felt very uncomfortable and inappropriate for a customer service environment, especially at a company known for its values and professionalism.
We expect Costco employees to treat members with respect, patience, and basic courtesy. Sadly, this interaction fell far below those expectations. We hope management addresses this behavior seriously, as no customer—especially families—should be treated this way.
Costco has always been known for excellent service, which is why this experience stood out in such a negative way. I hope steps are taken to ensure this does not happen to other members in the future.
