Cottage Mews Motel

What a lovely little motel, We spent 2 nights here in a garden room. It was well appointed and had everything we needed. I particularly liked the little private courtyard off our room. Whilst this motel doesn't have a lake view, it does have a walkway to the lake which has a lovely public walking/cycle path along the lake. The motel is little way from the main town however that wasn't a problem and there was a shopping centre with a Woolworths supermarket not too far away. after travelling around for a week it was nice to be able to wash our clothes (for free) in the laundry onsite. The clothes drier was only $2.00 per cycle. Our room had a spa bath in room separate from bathroom and a kitchenette which had plenty of items for cooking a meal or making coffee etc. The beds were comfy as well.

We stayed here overnight to break up our trip home from Auckland with our dogs. Great location, rooms are very clean and have everything you need. Lake is a very short walk down a path (1 min) and only 5 mins walk to the dog friendly Two Mile Bay Sailing Club for Dinner. Will definitely be coming back to stay a bit longer, we loved it!

A beautiful unit, well equipped and thoughtout. We had 'the Nook'and fellow travellers right next door.Great location for a gentle walk along the Lake and a few minutes drive from food and supermarket. Would love to have stayed longer.

Great location on the lake front. Room is spacious and well equipped. Nice little garden patio to sit out on and take in the afternoon sun.

The rooms are really lovely, it's nice to have it right next to the lake, and the spas are absolutely amazing. I recommend this motel if you are looking for somewhere to stay in Taupo and it should definitely be #1 in Taupo, or at least #2 or #3!!!

Loved this place! Took me back to my kiwi childhood holidays in the best way. The owners of the motel were so friendly and allowed my parents to park the camper in the parking lot. Only stayed a night in room 10 which had great views of the lake but would come back and stay in that room. 30 second walk to the lake, kayaks available, quiet and dark rooms and comfy enough bed.

This is a lovely compact and tidy unit we had a family unit with courtyard and balcony. We loved it! The garden was delightful with nice sheltered courtyard and outdoor table and chairs. The kitchen was roomy. We loved the two toilets and the spa bath upstairs. This was a very functional unit with storage space and well thought out touches. I am super happy and will rebook for next year. The private lake access is a bonus.
