Check-in was a pleasant experience! The complimentary waters and beers were a thoughtful and much-appreciated touch.
The hotel’s location is convenient, and the overall atmosphere is inviting, with a charming courtyard, live music, a pool, and a comfortable seating area. The bar is a nice spot to relax, and the food is decent.
The room itself had a cozy aesthetic and was generally comfortable. However, cleanliness left something to be desired. There were noticeable issues such as hair on the shower floor and visible dust in multiple areas, which detracted from the experience. See the attached pictures. While there were no major concerns, a higher standard of cleanliness would be expected given the rate.
In addition, while the hotel is dog-friendly, which is appreciated, the designated areas for walking dogs were unfortunately not well-maintained. The presence of pet waste in these spaces made them unpleasant to use. One would expect a dog-friendly property to uphold a higher level of cleanliness in shared outdoor areas.
I understand prices may surge during busy times like graduation, but at $500 per night, expectations naturally rise, especially regarding basic housekeeping standards. While I wasn’t expecting a luxury experience like the Ritz (this is Lubbock after all), cleanliness is a fundamental aspect of any hotel stay.
Overall, I’m giving 3 stars. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the amenities and atmosphere were enjoyable.
