We absolutely loved are recent stay (October 2025). The hot breakfast delivered every morning was beyond any expectations! We couldn't wait to see what came each day. The rooms are very thoughtfully put together and very comfortable. The bed and pillows are outstanding. I usually hate the pillows at hotels/BNBs but these were wonderful. I even used theirs instead of the ones I brought! We stayed in the Trinity (ADA compliant) and it was perfect. Very comfortable and sitting out on the porch listening to the water fountain was very peaceful. It was quiet. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back! We also enjoyed the Gin Mill and the meals at Cabernet Grill were wonderful. Could not have been better.

My hubby struck gold with a birthday visit for me to Cotton Gin Village. We stayed in the lively Pecos Cabin and had dinner at The Cabernet Grill. The staff was so attentive with personal touches such as a welcome box, a birthday card at dinner and a delightfully delicious breakfast delivered hot to our cabin door in a woven basket. Who could ask for more.?? This spot is top notch and well worth a visit if you're traveling to Fredericksburg.

Beautiful, cozy. Attention to detail was great. Felt secluded but still close to everything. On site restaurant was amazing. Enjoyed the bar on site as well. The breakfast baskets were a very nice touch 🥰. Thank you for a great weekend

Cotton Gin is located just down the way from all the main attractions, restaurants, and shops. The cabins and cottages are comfortable and nicely decorated. No matter which one you stay in you won’t be disappointed. The spacing between all of them is enough to allow privacy and peace and quiet: From the time you make a reservation to arrival and beyond you will feel valued. Upon arrival to your cottage/cabin you are surprised with some unexpected sweet treats and some discount for drinks at the cocktail lounge. Hopefully, you chose to experience the fantastic food and service at The Cabernet Grill. You won’t be disappointed! One of my favorite things about staying at Cotton Gin is waking up and enjoying their phenomenal breakfast! A large basket is hung outside your room filled with a hot breakfast along with fresh fruit and juice. It’s the perfect way to start your day! Cotton Gin does not disappoint!

Beautiful cabin nestled in around gathering sitting areas. Water features all around the entire courtyard. Cabin spacious and rustic with modern features. Breakfast was the best! Served hot and fresh in a basket brought to the cabin each morning! Yummy! Lovely Texas Hill Country stay!

We went to Fredericksburg for a quick weekend. The Cotton Gin was so cute, well maintained, everyone was so friendly and accommodating and the food was amazing!!! The restaurant on sight was my favorite meal of the weekend and the breakfast every morning was better than I’ve had ever at a B&B! The quiche was the best! |Thank you Cotton Gin for a wonderful weekend

This is an incredible place, highly recommend. The daily morning breakfast was amazing, delivered right to our cabin. The grounds were gorgeous and immaculate. Our cabin was huge, clean, comfortable, and full of unique details. We loved everything about our stay.

A wonderful weekend stay! The place was clean, comfortable, and perfectly located. The host was welcoming and made sure everything we needed was available with a thoughtful gift as we were celebrating our anniversary. Great spot for a quick getaway—will definitely return.

Yelp
This stay exceeded all expectations and added significantly to our overall trip experience. First, the landscaping and multiple water features were so calming and made it nice for a short stroll around the property. The attention to detail on decorations around the property and inside the cabin was great. I stayed in the Guadalupe cabin. Always extremely important, the cabin was clean and smelled good (I'm not sure what smell I was expecting but fortunately it was pleasant!). The cabin was stocked with everything we needed and house keeping did a great job. Also, the warm breakfasts were great! It was always fun to open the basket and see what was for breakfast. Sitting outside on the porch to eat while listening to the waterfalls - great way to start the morning!! It was just a short 5-minute drive into the downtown and not far from the main strip of wineries. Very convenient location. Highly recommend! Side note: restaurant on property is just okay. We enjoyed the food but felt like they tried too hard to make meals complex/fancy and some of the flavor profiles just didn't need to mix. It's very convenient and still worth checking out one of your nights, especially since downtown didn't seem to have the best dining options. We went on a holiday weekend and a reservation was 100% needed

Yelp
The only place I want to stay in Fredericksburg. This place will spoil you & it's hard to stay anywhere else without comparing them to others. It's the little attention to details that make you feel like you live there instead of visiting. You are greeted with a welcome note & a fresh cookie for each guest, on your coffee table! Firewood is provided from November-February. The refill your s'more, popcorn, coffee fixings daily. They provide shampoo, conditioner & body wash in the shower. Breakfast comes no later than 9a.m If you stay don't try the granola on the yogurt because that stuff is highly addictive. But thank goodness they sell it for $10. I buy them by the fours. & eat half on the road trip back home.

Yelp
Nice little cabins, not really located near anything, but a decent enough place to stay in Fredericksburg with great breakfast provided. Same comments as everyone else regarding customer service, particularly over the last two years where other companies have bent over backwards to accommodate travelers needing to change plans. There is 0 flexibility here: anything you need to change within 10 days of your reservation and they will do absolutely nothing to help you. Even if you purchase the outrageous $45/day coverage it won't refund you even close to 100%. We were repeat guests here but won't be coming back for this reason. Too many good places out there that you don't need to be giving money to a place like this.

Yelp
Our B&B experience here was amazing. Delicious, large, hot breakfasts delivered to our door and fantastic staff. I realized that I never took a picture of our actual B&B lodging because I was so focused on the delicious food. My only regret is that I didn't pack tupperware to store all the extra breakfast items that they had. Breakfast our first day included (two of each for the two of us): jelly-filled pastry; breakfast burrito with sausage, cheese, and egg plus salsa on the side; yogurt with granola; small fruit bowl, fresh orange juice Breakfast our second day included (two of each for the two of us): AMAZING pecan rolls (AMAZING, I tell you), egg casserole, yogurt, small fruit bowl, fresh orange juice There were also two large chocolate chip cookies waiting for us in our room when we walked in, plus makings for s'mores. I highly recommend staying here. Oh, and make a reservation at the restaurant that is associated with it - Cabernet Grill. It also has high quality service in addition to delicious food!

Yelp
Excellent stay in the Nueces Cottage! The morning breakfast basket delivered to our room was wonderful each day (day 1: kolaches, muffin, housemade granola, & OJ, day 2: bacon & egg croissant sandwich, pastry, yogurt, & OJ, day 3: sausage & egg burrito, pastry, yogurt, & OJ ). Everything was so fresh & delicious! The rooms were very comfortable. Excellent service & dinner at Cabernet Grill. It was our first time staying at Cotton Gin Village & eating at Cabernet Grill, but it won't be the last!

Angie R.

Yelp
Avoid at all costs unless you desire to hear 18-wheelers barreling down the major highway that is only a few yards behind the cabin (Red River North), and the owner did not care or wish to offer a partial refund. People who contemplate a reservation at this location needs to be advised of the HUGE noise nuisance. I have provided a detailed review on Trip Advisor if it gets published. Rest and relaxing - NOT!

Yelp
I don't know how anyone can give them anything less than five stars! Their rustic cabins are a hidden gem in Texas and are a must stay if you're in the area. From the beautiful grounds to the individually decorated cabins, the Cotton Gin Village is easily one of my favorite places I've ever been to. And to top it all off, they deliver breakfast right to your door every morning in a nice basket with milk, juice, cereal, meats, you name it! I haven't stopped raving about this place ever since I got home.

Daron C.

Yelp
Returned again over Christmas for our 5th stay and it didn't disappoint - still one of our favorite places anywhere. The cabins are just perfect and the restaurant is the best in the area . Service and maintenance of anything has improved since our last visit. We can't wait to come back!

Yelp
We stayed at 1 Big House. Awesome! We got permission to have our small wedding here. We had it outside on the wrap around porch. So beautiful! The little touches were amazing... great bath products, milk, OJ, and cheese in fridge, the pastries and granola, extra towels, fresh fruit... I know I am forgetting stuff! Amazing, would definitely stay here again. Also, the manager let us check in early, which was a major help considering I was getting married at 6! Only prob, they don't accept pets. This place is so awesome I would pay a lot extra if they did so I could bring my little guy with me, after all he is part of the family!

Yelp
Nice rustic cabins. The picnic breakfast was 5 stars. I subtracted one star because the jacuzzi tub was not cleaned and had evidence of the former occupants. I wanted to give it 3 stars but the wife objected.

Yelp
What a B&B should be! Spend your weekend in Fredricksburg with this fine establishment! You get your own, private, two room cottage with updated finishes in an rustic setting. A wood burning fireplace, wifi, and privacy make this a truly special place. The breakfasts cannot be beat!

Yelp
Great B&B. Excellent place for a romantic, rustic getaway! We booked a weekend here and, although the weather did not cooperate (raining and cold the entire weekend), we still had a great time! The cabins are set up for as much or as little technology as you want, which I think is awesome. Good wifi, plenty of outlets for charging, and satellite TV - all of these completely optional for use. And everything is hidden away, so you won't even notice what you don't need! We built a fire every night (they provide a ton of wood daily!), and it was so relaxing to just sit and enjoy the warmth. And they even provided a cute little s'mores-making kit as well! The breakfast was delicious, lots of options (fresh fruit, yogurt, pastry, and another warm dish like tacos) that gets delivered in a cute picnic basket every morning. I highly recommend this place as a romantic destination getaway. You'll be pampered and will leave feeling refreshed and reinvigorated!

Yelp
I've managed hotels for a long time and these guys have a good thing here. I don't do reviews very often, but this is truly special. Nice rustic cabins, (Guadalupe cabin was ours for 4 nights) EXTREMELY quiet, no bugging, no hassle, everyone is very attentive with great awareness of their guests. From the insanely good food at the Cabernet Grill within feet of your front door to the simple task of wood being delivered to your front door for your stone fireplace. It's just on the edge of town so your out of town, but within 5 minutes of downtown Fredericksburg. It all comes together in a rustic cabin experience to kick back and relax with that special person.

Yelp
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. My husband booked a room for Friday and Saturday evening at the Cotton Gin for our anniversary. To ensure the weekend was a surprise, my husband mailed my gifts to the front desk and arranged for a florist in Fredericksburg to have a bouquet created for our room. Unfortunately, a tragic and unexpected death in my family prevented us going to Fredericksburg that weekend. My husband called the Cotton Gin to alert them when we found out we would not be able to make our stay. He then called the florist and requested the bouquet of flowers be delivered to a local nursing home. After receiving a voucher for a stay two night stay between SUNDAY-THURSDAY, I decided to call the General Manager, Ross Burtwell, to see if he would be willing to work out a deal since we would be traveling from out of town and can only stay on a Friday and Saturday evening. I proposed we pay a reduced rate or fee and turn in our voucher in exchange for a Friday and Saturday night stay. The General Manager proceeded to explain how there is no leniency in the policy, spoke down to me as in a demeaning tone, told me I am lucky to have received a voucher, and HUNG UP ON ME! BEWARE of the 'customer service' you can expect.

Yelp
Lovely place! Just a heads up though, the dryer doesn't work, which blows after you've washed your clothes and didn't know about the dryer..... And this is the first bed and BREAKFAST that I've ever stayed at that didn't provide breakfast!! They do for the cabins but not the most expensive per night accommodations..... the big house. They figure that since it has a kitchen, that people that go to B&B's want to cook. It is a very pretty house but they get 3 stars out of 5 for the very misleading website that leads you to believe that this Bed and BREAKFAST, actually comes with a BREAKFAST!!!! There are better places to stay in Fredricksburg IMO.

Yelp
Very disappointed in the Cotton Gin Village. We reserved a room for 2020 and had to cancel due to an unexpected trip. They gave us an extension on the reservation through Jan 2021. Due to Covid and our age group we did not feel comfortable traveling. When calling to see if they would extend till we received our vaccines they refused to extend it, We could not even transfer it to one of our children. So they kept our money and said Sorry but no. Not very good customer service in this day!!

Yelp
My husband and I just stayed in the Pecos cabin for 2 nights, and love it! We went to Fredericksburg for a couple days to celebrate my birthday, and wanted to stay somewhere unique. The cabin village was adorable, and we really enjoyed sitting outside on the patio at the end of the day. The room was clean and comfortable. Every morning, breakfast was delivered by basket and left on the porch. It ranged from granola, fruit, kolaches, and homemade egg sandwich; it was great! We will have to visit during the winter next time to take advantage of fireplace and smores!

Yelp
The food is good, HOWEVER... we arrived 30 minutes prior to our reservation and the hostess would not seat our party even though our table was available. They would not serve us a glass of wine or cocktail or water while we waited outside. The hostess was snobby and had a sassy attitude. Remarkable...I believe there you can more Accommodating service at a 7-11 convenient store! We will NEVER come back to this restaurant!

David Y.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic place to relax and unwind. Nice rustic cabin exteriors with all the best of amenities on the inside. Haven't slept so well in many, many moons. Could not have asked for more! And then the food and atmosphere at the restaurant was superb! Fantastic cuisine paired with beautifully tasting Texas wine. The stay there was a 10 for us. Looking forward to another weekend at CGV in 2020.

Yelp
Really like this place. I've stayed there twice, once in one of the smaller cabins and once in 1 Big House for a work retreat (6 of us - had plenty of room in the large 3-bedroom house). Very nicely appointed cabins, lovely continental breakfast provided (though it was hard not to eat the pastries the night before). Very comfortable beds with nice linens. The common courtyard is lovely. All the cabins have fireplaces and porch furniture. We found it a very relaxing place to stay. The business is situated close to a country highway, but I personally didn't find the road noise to be a problem. Would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
Weekend trip for wife's birthday. We found the Pecos cabin to be very quiet, private. Everything we needed was provided. We particularly enjoyed the fireplace with a comfortable leather sofa in front of it where we could sip on wine and enjoy music, a good book, or each other. We felt like we were in our own world with this rustic paradise. The only change I would recommend would be a full, hot breakfast rather than a continental breakfast ( although it was good ), particularly with what you pay for this B&B. Having the Cabernet Grill on property is another big plus!!

Yelp
Excellent wait staff Very good food. Had the steak and it was cooked perfectly. Crab cakes are terrific.

Yelp
Beware of making a reservation at the Cotton Gin Village. I was really looking forward to a romantic 5 day second honeymoon but 3 days before our check in date my mother fell and broke her hip. When I called to cancel so I could be with my mother for her surgery I was informed the cancellation fee was the full 5 day cost. I have heard of hotels charging one day but not 1100+. I had intended to rebook when my mom is out of the hospital but I won't go within 1000 feet of this place now and I advise anyone reading this to reconsider if you are thinking of staying here. Bad, bad, bad customer service!

Yelp
We had a survivors weekend for my Step dad in the big house. Let me start with the grounds are beautiful and the big walk around porch was very peaceful in the evenings. The fire pit was a great addition as well. The house itself has a big kitchen and living room. The bedrooms are on the smaller size but still very nice, love the tall beds. The bathroom upstairs had a very, very low shower head. I am 5"3 and I had to bend over to shower. What I found very strange was the fact that this Bed and Breakfast had no breakfast provided. When we asked abuot it they said since we had a kitchen we could cook breakfast on our own... huh odd.

Melody L.

Yelp
Stayed here for our anniversary a while back. Fabulous! Rustic cabins, moved to the site and luxuriously remodeled. Set around a gorgeous garden. Quiet, romantic and very private. Loved it! Breakfast was in the small kitchen when we arrived. Gourmet fixins to make breakfast on your own schedule. Included eggs & a wonderful sausage. Or you could eat the wonderful muffins and granola and not cook at all. Lovely.

Joy W.

Yelp
We stayed in Red River North cabin. It was absolutely fantastic! It was rustic but well restored with a modern bathroom and numerous amenities. The best part was the breakfast delivered every morning. It was hot and delicious! Pictures on the website were accurate and helpful. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Cabernet Grill is onsite with good food and wine and a short walk back to our cabin - no driving. We are looking forward to a return visit in the near future.

Kaylee A.

Yelp
Loved the Guadalupe cabin!! We basically had the entire place to ourselves since it was at the beginning of the week. Loved the antique decor!! The breakfast was great. Very peaceful and relaxing! I loved reading the guest book!!

Kelen K.

Yelp
I wish I could say something nice about this place. My friends and I went down for a quiet winery girl's weekend and stayed at 1 big house. We had a wonderful time, and by all means 1 big house was a great place to stay and very accommodating. HOWEVER, once we left the house, my friend who was in charge of booking, discovered upwards of $500 of CC charges 2 weeks after our stay. After calling and back-and-forth arguments from the management office, they finally sent over an itemized invoice (PRIOR TO THE CC CHARGES) that claimed we had vomited on sheets and towels (didn't happen), burned counter tops with hot pans (definitely did not happen), stolen objects around the house (not at all) and ripped a bed spread on one of the beds (nope). After MUCH discussion and debating, they dropped all charges except for the burned counter tops and ruined sheets and towels, but refused to provide any evidence of ANYTHING. They also claimed they had lost the sheets and towels that were ruined, and "surprisingly found" ALL supposedly "stolen" decor the next day. And when asked to provide pictures of the damage, they told us their photographer was not on-site and we would have to pay photography fees (it's called a camera phone, people). All in all, if you're planning a girls get-away or bachelorette party, be forewarned, this place will take advantage of you. I know for a fact that none of these claims happened. This was not a wild bachelorette party weekend - and they, to this day, will not return our phone calls.

Yelp
This is more informational and critique than review. There were many things done right. They even think to put a cork screw in the room, which was great as we had been to many wineries that day, had bought a nice bottle of wine to drink on the front porch, and forgot to get a cork screw....now on to the information. 1) four of the cabins are very close to the road, and there is considerable road noise. They even put sound machine in the armoir to use, but it didnt stop the noise. They should have built the restaurant on that side and the cabins on the other, but too late for that now. 2) Bring your own pillow---I got a back ache from the small pillows. 3) In our room, the shower was in a large jacuzzi tub, so someone with limited mobility will have a hard time stepping in/out of the tub to take a shower. 4) limited wi-fi. It was available but not very strong. 5)The breakfast was pastries, an apple, orange, and granola with juice in the fridge. Be warned that the milk is whole milk. We dont eat carbs and sugar, so I felt bad that the food was wasted. I would suggest to the owners maybe some way to opt out of the breakfast as to not waste food. I didnt stay there for the breakfast. overall, this was an enjoyable place, I just wish the cabins werent so close to the road. When you make reservation, you may want to call and find out which cabins are the farthest from the road, and bring your own pillow.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I spent 2 nights here and had a wonderful experience! We booked over the holiday weekend while the staff was off to celebrate. We were met with a warm, hand-written card on the door telling us that the key was under the mat. Other than the cleaning staff, we had no contact with any staff whatsoever. And that was fine since all our needs were exceeded. We stayed in the Llano cabin. Filled with 19th century antiques and a fireplace that spurred the already rustic feel, the cabin was extremely clean and came equipped with a mini fridge, microwave, and, our favorite, a Jacuzzi tub! Sliding doors separated the bedroom from the main room. There was a tub of fire wood on our porch which was replenished, and each morning a breakfast basket was waiting for us on a hook just outside our door with delicious homemade foods including breakfast tacos, quiches, pastries and orange juice. The surrounding grounds where well-kept and rustic as well. A fine dining restaurant just feet away from our front door and several koi ponds in between. If you're looking for a quiet place to kick back and relax for a couple of days, I highly recommend this place!
