Coucou Bar Hotel & Restaurant Bantayan Island

We visit restaurant last night service was terrible no one showed us seat give us menu then didnt give much time choose when we ordered my girlfriend ordered tinulang manok and I ordered red thai curry and spring rolls to start. The waitresses ever confirmed order I had say back to her make sure was right. When the food arrived only received girlfriend meal plus spring rolls no red Thai curry very disappointed the spring rolls was delicious but tinulang manok was just chicken bones only small amount meat the three staff were just talking behind bar one using mobile would I recommend this place NO would I return NO

The aesthetic of the room is nice. Different toilet and shower. But the shower has no door, curtain only. The room is good and clear, they provided toiletries as well. The only problem was the AC, it’s not functioning well since room is still hot. Also, the internet is not working so you can’t work remotely there unless you use your cellular data. Overall, place was nice and the staff are so kind and nice. We enjoy our stay.

Food is about okay, nothing special, but the whole island is on this level or less. However, the service is non existent in this place! Sometimes there's 6-7 staff behind the bar busy on their phones and it takes forever to be noticed... And the few bits that is just not right. Once i ordered some bacon with my omlet... 300P (9.5 USD) for 4 smallest rashers of bacon. Restaurant only 100m away charge 65P for 8 rashers... On and if you order a fruit shake, you better stand at the bar and watch them meke it, cause they lick the spoon to taste it, and use same spoon to scoop your shake out of the blender... This is pretty shocking place tbf... 🤢

Coucou Bar Hotel and Restaurant is a nice place to hang out after doing a bit of island touring in Bantayan Island. We ordered some pizza—it was okay, not amazing, but decent enough. What I really liked was the chill ambience. The small huts with tables inside are nicely arranged, adding a cozy touch to the place. It gets livelier in the evening, with more people around, while daytime feels quieter and more laid-back. Overall, it’s a good spot to unwind and relax.

For starters waitress wasn’t welcoming already but still keen to try out their food and even if waitress seems too eager to take our order. Later on we have to come up in the bar to order more food. While billing out was the WORST, called them for several times (waving hands, tone up our voices) but still no response and saw they’re actually busy chatting when I just come up to ask for our bill. Had to wait a bit more as it wasn’t even prepared although we’re the very last guest that night and one of the staff guy already told them were asking for the bill. Hope this helps to improve service. Food was average as well as the cocktails, but doesn’t recommend the Coucou Lovers if you’re not into sweet and over powered cherry flavoured drinks.

Had dinner with family here last night. Had a salad along with some chicken shish kabob then woke up hours later need to vomit along with horrible diarrhea. All night i was up and down either puking or on the toilet. I will never eat at this place again. I recommend everyone to avoid this place like the plague. Also how the staff gives you extra plate and just puts them on the table stacked does not even give anyone one or ask if anyone needs one. Besides anything else I could mention the food poisoning is the worst part. I'm here for a month and you horrible keeping of vegetables ruined now up to 2 days of my time here. Edit: My mother also is sick so I believe it was the shish kabobs

This is a breakfast-only review ☺️ . We have had three breakfasts here within about 8 days . It’s fantastic !! So many choices , home made toasted bread is out of this world !!! Served with butter and blueberry (!!!) 🫐 jelly . Mouth watering. ! Bacon 🥓 was delish too. Highly recommended!

HOTEL ROOMS REVIEW ONLY!!! When we arrived, the staff greeted us immediately. However, we arrived too early for check-in since they were fully booked the day before. We were advised to come back at 2 PM. We asked if we could leave our bags, and the receptionist said it was okay. We were happy because we didn’t have to carry our heavy bags around. Fast forward to check-in: the staff (“ate”) was still finishing up the room. Once it was ready, the room looked fresh, smelled good, and the sheets were clean. I loved how the shower and toilet were separated. The room had cable TV, a mini fridge, a hairdryer, two complimentary bottles of water, a heater, coffee, and tea. One thing I noticed about the bed was that it squeaked if you accidentally lay down too hard. BUT overall, everything was perfect—I’m still giving it 5 stars. Despite the bars around, the place was quiet and peaceful. We had a great sleep. There’s also a guard on duty at night, so the place felt really safe ☺️ Would definitely go back and recommend it to friends. 👌🏻 Thank you! P.S. I hope you will consider placing plastic liners in the trash bins to make them easier to clean and empty. I always bring plastic bags with me, so I just used some of my own. But all good 😊

The CouCou Bar's in-house restaurant offers breakfast, linch and dinner. Breakfast menu has American, Continental, and Filipino options and at php195.00 is still affordable. Tried their popular halo-halo and it is as advertised - what halo-halo should be! The restaurant is spacious and the interior well-lighted and well ventilated but the problem - flies, lots of them!! I even had one enjoying my honey spread! Overall, it's great but there are better options out there. Don't be afraid to go out and explore!
