Coucou Bar Hotel and Restaurant is a nice place to hang out after doing a bit of island touring in Bantayan Island. We ordered some pizza—it was okay, not amazing, but decent enough. What I really liked was the chill ambience. The small huts with tables inside are nicely arranged, adding a cozy touch to the place. It gets livelier in the evening, with more people around, while daytime feels quieter and more laid-back. Overall, it’s a good spot to unwind and relax.

HOTEL ROOMS REVIEW ONLY!!! When we arrived, the staff greeted us immediately. However, we arrived too early for check-in since they were fully booked the day before. We were advised to come back at 2 PM. We asked if we could leave our bags, and the receptionist said it was okay. We were happy because we didn’t have to carry our heavy bags around. Fast forward to check-in: the staff (“ate”) was still finishing up the room. Once it was ready, the room looked fresh, smelled good, and the sheets were clean. I loved how the shower and toilet were separated. The room had cable TV, a mini fridge, a hairdryer, two complimentary bottles of water, a heater, coffee, and tea. One thing I noticed about the bed was that it squeaked if you accidentally lay down too hard. BUT overall, everything was perfect—I’m still giving it 5 stars. Despite the bars around, the place was quiet and peaceful. We had a great sleep. There’s also a guard on duty at night, so the place felt really safe ☺️ Would definitely go back and recommend it to friends. 👌🏻 Thank you! P.S. I hope you will consider placing plastic liners in the trash bins to make them easier to clean and empty. I always bring plastic bags with me, so I just used some of my own. But all good 😊

Took almost 1 hour for our order to arrive. Nothing special on their pasta. Carbonara too bland, Seafood pasta too sour. We ask for salt and pepper to try the pasta to taste better. Their fries almost all air inside. Their bread is so hard. Nothing special on their pizza also. Plating looks good but nothing special on the taste.

Restaurant review only: This was the best food we have had in the area while here of the weekend. Service was very good and accommodating, food took a little bit but was totally worth the wait. Prices are reasonable and the American food options were really good. I ordered the pasta carbonara and added chicken for myself, I forgot to take a picture prior to diving in on the food. Music 🎵🎶 is 1980's pop/rock which was fun to hear. My Filipino husband and his cousin really enjoyed the Filipino food items that are pictures with the review. I would highly recommend Coucou (Restaurant).

Had dinner with family here last night. Had a salad along with some chicken shish kabob then woke up hours later need to vomit along with horrible diarrhea. All night i was up and down either puking or on the toilet. I will never eat at this place again. I recommend everyone to avoid this place like the plague. Also how the staff gives you extra plate and just puts them on the table stacked does not even give anyone one or ask if anyone needs one. Besides anything else I could mention the food poisoning is the worst part. I'm here for a month and you horrible keeping of vegetables ruined now up to 2 days of my time here. Edit: My mother also is sick so I believe it was the shish kabobs

Extremely Disappointing Stay – Would Not Recommend||||Our stay at CouCou Bar Hotel Restaurant in Santa Fe was unfortunately a very negative experience from start to finish.||||Check-in Experience:||Upon arrival, we received no assistance with our luggage. Despite at least five staff members standing around with nothing to do, none offered help or even a greeting. This left a poor first impression.||||Room Conditions:||We had booked two rooms.||||The first room was passable, though the bathroom had a leak and visible mold on the ceiling.||||The second room was unacceptable: it smelled strongly of sewage, had leaks under the toilet, cobwebs, and insects crawling everywhere—including cockroaches along the outside walls. The water heater looked like it dated back to the 70s and seemed barely functional.||||||After complaining, we were moved to a better room. While this new room was cleaner and without leaks, the inconsistency in room quality was striking. Every room has different amenities—some have smart TVs, others have tiny dummy ones, and not all have basic furniture like dressers or nightstands, so we had to charge our phones on the floor. The new room also had a power outlet right next to the shower heater. This isn't normally a problem, but the shower heater is at shower head level, and the socket was not attached to the wall and had gaps. I had to close it myself as much as I could.||||Room Service:||One of the worst experiences was with room service. I ordered Chili Con Carne, and they added a 10% service charge to deliver it about 12 steps away to our terrace—which was already a bit much, however I was starving. I was told it would take 25–30 minutes. After waiting 30 minutes, my wife followed up and was told “5 more minutes.” Another 30 minutes later, I asked again and got the same response. When I pushed back, the staff member panicked and admitted the cook had taken the wrong "box"—apparently the food had been pre-cooked three days ago and stored in containers for reheating. In this case the cook took the "Bolognaise" box instead of the "Chili Con Carne" box.||||I was appalled. When the food finally came, it was clearly a sloppy mix of bolognese sauce with some beans thrown in. It was disgusting. After this, I chose not to give CouCou any more of my business during our stay, and we dined elsewhere for the rest of the week. The lack of apologies and accountability is unprofessional. This happened Tuesday, our second day out of five.||||Noise and Safety Concerns:||To make matters worse, one night around 1 AM, a couple staying in one of the nearby rooms got into a loud argument and repeatedly slammed their door. This went on for quite a while and disturbed our sleep even further. Despite there being a guard on duty, no action was taken to address the situation or restore peace. It added to the overall feeling of neglect and lack of responsibility from the hotel staff.||||Housekeeping and Staff Behavior:||There was no daily cleaning despite signs indicating this would happen. We handed in our keys expecting housekeeping to clean, replace towels, and make the beds. Nothing was done until Thursday—conveniently when the owner was present—at which point the staff suddenly became more active.||||Throughout the stay, we were met with cold stares and, at times, even mocking behavior from the staff. No greetings, no apologies, just laughter behind our backs.||||Noise Issues:||There’s also a nightclub at the back called Nami. If you’re a light sleeper, be warned: loud bass-heavy music plays every night until 3 AM—even on weekdays. Sleeping here was nearly impossible.||||Final Verdict:||This was one of the most unpleasant hotel stays I’ve ever had. Poor service, unclean and inconsistent rooms, food that borders on unsafe, and a complete lack of professionalism from staff. Avoid this place if you value cleanliness, rest, or respect as a guest. We stayed with a baby, just imagine what mold and loud music does to an infant's sleep and ours. We left unrested to another hotel and did not extend.

Good restaurant in central Santa Fe. Best coffee in town and very good breakfast options. I really liked the music and the atmosphere there. Service is friendly and efficient. We'll gladly return and maybe next time try the hotel too.

Yelp
The CouCou Bar's in-house restaurant offers breakfast, linch and dinner. Breakfast menu has American, Continental, and Filipino options and at php195.00 is still affordable. Tried their popular halo-halo and it is as advertised - what halo-halo should be! The restaurant is spacious and the interior well-lighted and well ventilated but the problem - flies, lots of them!! I even had one enjoying my honey spread! Overall, it's great but there are better options out there. Don't be afraid to go out and explore!
