Beautiful property. Attended an event as part of the food and wine festival. Staff was great and the place was very clean and well maintained.

For charging a full fee to play, this was absolutely disappointing. At checkin we were told there were 6 temporary greens, but not when reserving the tee time. Also there were at least 8 more greens with large areas roped off, the rest of the greens were horrible also. Many bare spots around the course. Maintenance workers driving in front of you when you go to hit. Just a very poor experience. As an Invited Ckub you should be ashamed of the quality of this course.

We came here for a family event and everyone was so kind and amazing! Karla is one of the most amazing and kind people that I have ever met! She was so helpful in every situation!

Played as part of the internal visitor program offered within ClubCorp, for a fee of around $30. The course mainly comprises "sub-division golf" which could of course be played in just about any town/city in the country. There are however a few holes that present vistas unique to the SC coastal region. Overall, the course was in great shape and well worth playing. In the HH area, there are mostly two main standards of course - the elite $200+ rounds at Sea Pines and Palmetto Dunes and the rest of the courses that normally go for around $100 or less. This club would rank at the very top of the second tier of courses in my opinion.

This was one of the best golf experiences of my life. The course is immaculate and challenging. Greens are fast and I don't think I had a straight putt over four feet. Yardage to the back of the green, middle and front are well- marked. Very helpful. No need for GPS. Driving range, putting green and chipping greens made it easy to be ready for the first hole. Driving range is grass, not the dreaded mats. Craig at check-in was friendly and extremely helpful, helping me join others in an earlier tee time. I wish this was my home course!

Southern Hospitality, a beautiful golf course and great facility, coupled with excellent food makes this a wonderful country club as part of the ClubCorp network of clubs across America. Fully appointed locker rooms (the men's room has a barber chair in case you want a haircut or shave), two upstairs dining rooms each with a full bar and serving meals all day, and an oversized golf pro shop loaded with everything you need for a day on the links.

GOLF: 9, CLUB: 8, FOOD: 5 Beautiful country club and golf course, but service at the Pub was poor and so was the food quality. Wilted lettuce, old avocados, overcooked, rubbery shrimp on my salad, tepid, flavorless chowder and the chicken on one of my kids' sandwiches was undercooked. One sandwich, the Club, was pretty good. Luckily my daughter shared with me.....took forever. Still a beautiful place though.

Very difficult yet completely fair and enjoyable round of golf I has here at Country Club of Hilton Head. The course underwent some serious reconstructive surgery in 2010, since its 1986 opening, where ALL 18 of its greens were redone! This is no easy undertaking, as I am no superintendent, but have been around the game enough to know a few tings about course repair and associated costs. But the Club was a members only establishment (now semi-private)and when the votes are counted, the shovels begin digging. The new grass is a hybrid-Ultra Dwarf Bermuda grass, which is a fine-bladed plant. It is the ultimate warm season turfgrass for golf course putting greens and is superior to all other commercially grown grasses. Plus it looks really nice with its dark green color and the ball rolls like it is on a pool table. How legitimate a test of golf is it? Country Club of Hilton Head G.C. twice served as the local qualifying site for the US OPEN! That speaks volumes and with a Course Rating of 75.2 (IE: scratch golfers would typically shoot 3-4 over par, having never played it before) and a Slope of 143, this 6919 yard bad bot has some serious teeth. I played miserable, I hit the ball well but it just went every which direction, but where I wanted it to go, I want revenge. When I played there I had played a good amount of Hilton Head Island courses and I was amazed bu the elevated sites that course architect Reese Jones created. Yes, I love me some Reese ones, possibly my top three architects of all time. TIP: you may get a double play deal with Golden Bear if you call and ask for current deals..

Very nice and challenging course. We played after a weeklong thundershower. And, the course was in great shape. I was particularly impressed with the down home approach of the staff and starters

This club offers indoor and outdoor pools, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and a great (tough) golf course! The course is in the best shape it's been in for years! We have social activities for EVERYONE and our chef is amazing! The best deal in the Lowcountry!

Brunch was amazing! I had the corn crepes with poached Chicken and Chanterelles with asparagus on the side. Rich and deliciousness. My husband had the Eggs Benedict with thick cut bacon. Both dishes were amazing. It's tucked away on the north end of the island.

We teed off around nine AM on a beautiful sunny day. This course offers many challenges that include dangerous water carries and deep bunkers. Back in 1986 when Rees Jones designed this course berms and elevated greens were all the rage. Our bag drop was smooth. They have two guys to greet you and one delivered a set of TM Kalea rental clubs for my BW. The pro shop is friendly and smooth running despite the volume of business. Reilly was a friendly, and informative starter. Everyone at this club was helpful. All the greens ran very fast and they seemed to have been sanded recently. The Bermuda rough is dense and shows no mercy. The tee markers are not the most visible and with elevated tees it takes a bit more time to find the right box. There is a lot of privacy between holes so that you do not often encounter other golfers. The holes wind through forests of oaks and pines with many scattered palm trees. This is a serene and bucolic layout. Wednesday is ladies day but there was no noticeable slowing of the pace here. We finished in four hours.

I'm not sure what happened but there is no grass on the greens! Another Club Corp disaster. Heard this has been a club Corp course for 20 years. Scared to see what they do to our club in Atlanta. Fairways were ok. Traps where hard pan as all the new trap systems at Club Corp are the way they retain water. Beautiful to drive up but definitely a mask for the problems they are hiding.

We tried to be responsible and take an uber to the country club. They wouldn't let our driver in any entrance except on inconvenient entrance, charged him a $10 fee, and made him produce paper work. Absolutely unnecessary and ridiculous. They were rude and unhelpful. I've asked the organizers of our meeting to NEVER use this establishment again. Very disappointed.

Three stars for the course which was in great shape and beautiful. But starter was MIA, Ladies Bathrooms LOCKED (thanks a lot!) and course was wide open except for the threesome ahead of us who made us wait EVERY hole - where was the ranger?? And Pro Shop says pace is 4:20??!! Sorry but that's a lame excuse. This course is run terribly - and clubhouse needs an update. Head over to Heron Point or Atlantic Dunes to see how a course should be run and what a clubhouse should look and smell like.

The Country Club Course is great! Club Corp has done a great job with this course. Thick and dense rough and well manicured greens; plenty of water, and sand traps make it a challenge. Yet, the scenery and marquis holes on the water makes you lose track of the bogeys!

Course is in great condition! The shop guys were very friendly and accommodateing This is now my "go to" course when visiting the Hilton Head Area. A+
