Country Hot Bagels

When you need a GREAT bagel, head to Country Hot! I buy these at home, and also for the office and the staff goes nuts for them. It can get a little crowded on the weekends during prime time breakfast hours, but rest assured they'll get through that line quickly. It's worth the wait, so stick around!

Outstanding bagels for a buck apiece and made right there - as you're standing at the counter you can see the kettle in back. Assorted cream cheeses to top them off - highly recommend the Jalapeno/Bacon. Service is super fast and all smiles.

About $1.10 a bagel (before toppings) with a great selection of baked goods and toppings. Crazy cream cheese variety including lox, scallion, bacon, jalapeno, etc. I got the sunflower seed bagel with brown sugar cream cheese. Perfect portions as well. Some places skimp on cream cheese but I'm satisfied here. Great customer service as well. Cash only.

Simply the best. Outstanding bagel, pleasant staff, and reasonably priced. Don’t be a jerk and expect miracles like the grill being on 10 minutes before closing and you will love it too.

After hearing people rave about their bagels being the best, I decided to try them for myself. Personally, I do not feel that they are the best, but they are definitely good bagels! They are doughy (as a bagel should be,) they have a unique but nice flavor, but they are missing that “al dente” pop that the outside of a bagel should have. In regards to their customer service: it is fantastic! The staff is very friendly and attentive. I’m not surprised people love to come here.

I am from NC. My mom is from Northport so we would always get these bagels every time we came to visit my grandparents. BEST bagels ever. We've been coming here for over 30 years!

I have been eating country hot bagels for practically my entire life. My favorites are their sesame and everything. This place is the gold standard for bagels in my opinion, because of their consistently delicious flavor, texture, and most importantly the proportion of seeds/seasonings to bagel. They strike a perfect balance between other places where the bagel is either entirely covered in salty toppings or lightly dusted with a few seeds. Additionally, the texture is always perfect, meaning that they serve real bagels with a chewy bite to them, not just bagel shaped rolls. The only problem my family and I have ever had here was when a particular batch of bagels had a weirdly sweet taste, and not enough seeds on top. When my dad went in to explain the situation and ask for a refund, they understood completely, let us keep the bad batch, and gave us a new bag of a dozen bagels as a replacement. Additionally, everyone working there seems to be really nice and efficient to boot. And as for the ambiance inside, the place has been the same for at least 20 years. I used to love coming in as a kid and looking at all the little bobbleheads and cartoon characters while waiting in line. They've got nice tunes on the radio, and as one might expect it always smells like yummy bagels. It's just a great place.

Best bagels on Long Island. The folks working are excellent, efficient and attentive. Doesn't look like much on the outside but they have insane breakfast sandwiches. Ask for hashbrowns on your sandwich you will not regret it.

Always stop at country hot when we are visiting our home town. The egg sausage and bagel was delicious, and priced fairly. Bagels are fresh and coffee hot. I noticed a dozen bagels and bacon special for 20$

Both egg sandwiches were on wrong bread and had wrong meat. Waited 15 minutes (we were the only customers). Was not going to go back and have corrected. We couldn't wait any longer

Great Bagels in NORTHPORT, almost always busy but great staff and the line moves very quickly- their whitefish salad is yummy!

Over 2 decades, each time I periodically drive in Rte 25a eastbound, this place is a " must stop" Quality, fresh, affordable, and easy cook makes my sandwich as I order. They always have piping fresh hot decaf, regular roast and tea Always I get salt pepper ketchup or other condiments for my food w napkins

First time here, Delicious, fresh, and very dense old school bagels... Great country , vacation vibe going on here, small place making some of the best bagels I've had. Very friendly staff, and all serve with a smile. Fantastic cream cheese selection, the Roasted Garlic and black pepper as well as the French Onion cream cheese is a home run. Definitely recommend this bagel store for some of the best without driving to Brooklyn. Sometimes great things are found right in your own backyard.

I have like 6 bagel stores about 5 minutes from me in Elwood. I choose to drive to Country Hot Bagels cause their bagels are the best in the area. Not even close. Most bagels in the area are way to doughy with zero crunch. Their bagels are pretty much spot on. They always have plenty of staff. The line goes pretty quick. They do take credit cards. Big fan of the establishment.

This is an authentic Long Island bagel store that makes the bagels on premise for many years. They have excellent bagels, flaggels and bialys. They always have plenty of counter help that are fast and helpful. You will never go wrong with Country hot bagels. A truly traditional excellent quality bagel shop.

If you're a fan of dive bars you'll love this place! It's a hole in the wall that you'd never notice which makes things even better. I love the staff, super nice, I've gone in enough times that one of the girls knows my order and learned my name. Food is also really good. If ur looking for something fancy when getting bagels, idk what you're doing. You're getting bagels. Why would u need fancy for a bagel? Love this place. Small place with great service and tasty bagels. I knew the bagels would be good even before I exited the car just by watching the steady stream of customers enter and exit the place. The clientele was mature and that says to me they aren't going to eat garbage. Parking was tight but you could see people walking up to the place so that was another good sign. People were willing to park further away and walk to get their goods. The bagel was fresh and tasty but the cream cheese was average. I got a cream cheese on an everything bagel, a flat everything bagel for later and an iced tea for under $6. That pretty good for today's prices. I'm anxious to sample the rest of their menu in the future. I definitely recommend this place!

Best bagels on Long Island. This tiny bagel shop is a jewel, with fresh hot bagels all morning long. They have a grill and make egg sandwiches to order. The staff is fantastic and work super fast. Great place to stop on the way.....

I guess customers here never travel outside the immediate area. Compared to all other bagel places on the island, these are half the size and twice the price. They also do not taste good.

My Saturday morning fix ever since moving from Syosset to Centerport. I thought nothing could top Bagel Master but the bagels here are just as good. Much faster service too since they have a lot of young people helping at all times. Great place

Got two bagel sandwiches here today for less than 10 bucks and they were super good. There are cans of Nutrament in the drink cooler that look like they're from the 80s; is it still drinkable? Who cares! Enjoy the nostalgic decor and some of the best bagels on the island.

The bagels here are great, but I've had a very bad experience here. Employees should wear hairnets because I am constantly finding hair in my sandwiches. This is beyond disgusting. I will no longer be buying food from here unless that problem is resolved.

Absolutely the best-tasting bagels in the area. Super cheap, too - less than $2 toasted with toppings. I just wish the bagels were bigger (they are noticeably smaller than other shops in the area).

Country Hot is not what is used to be. Bagels are dry and tasteless. On a recent visit, the everything and onion bagels were barely seasoned, and there was so little cream cheese smeared on the sandwiches that there was not enough cream cheese to cover each side. Time to find another local bagelry. Fortunately, there are choices.

Bagels were excellent. One of the best in the Long Island area. The only negative comment I had was the customer service reps do not follow direction. I asked for a toasted bagel with 2 eggs and bacon, got home and of course the bagel was not toasted. Coffee is just watery, not strong at all. But they have the freshest bagels in the area.

Always the best fresh and hot bagels! Our go to for bagels. The staff is great and patient. I absolutely love their olive cream cheese. Yummy!

I moved out of Long Island when I was 17. I come back a couple times a year. NEVER in 25 years have I been disappointed from this place. Every time I come home the staff is the same. Means they love working there. This place always does well. I like to get there right when they open for the SOFTEST bagels. Totally worth it. I try to explain to people on the west coast how good they are but if you aren't from NY you will NEVER understand. Country hot always has a place in my heart. Every time I come home I expect this place to be here. Great job you guys! Time to freeze and ship some bagels to Las Vegas!

Country Hot makes a pretty good bagel that's not the size of your head. Nice and dense, too, the way bagels used to be. Place is very low-frills, the place is called "Country Hot Bagels", not "Country Hot Appetizing, Catering, and More!" I'm not sure I'd get lox here. No seating, very little parking, boo-hoo. Place kinda reminds me of how Essa Bagel (by Stuy Town) used to be: bagels w/o BS. If you don't like it, there are other bagels places a bit further east, like Mo's, which is pretty good, too. Look, Country Hot makes a good enough bagel, and it's close enough to me, that I come here most of the time. At least they make actual bagels, unlike Hometown Bake Shop. I love Hometown (best blueberry scones on the planet, fight me), but most of the time I'd prefer an actual bagel to some bagel-bomb thing. I've never had any problems with the service. I'd say the service is pretty good, actually. High-school kids, but quick and attentive. I've had far worse service back in Syosset at Bagel Boss and Bagel Master.

/OMG/ Hands Down The Best Bagel on Long Island and Possibly the Best Bagel in the Universe. Not Fancy but Those Bagels are Fresh and Soft, Try an Everything. No tables to sit but who cares. Good God the Bagels are Everything. This place can Become very addicting. See you in the morning

Best bagel I've had in my life. Husband and I are in town for first time and I looked up breakfast places & ended up here. I was a little disappointed that there was no where to sit but that's irrelevant regarding how amazing their food is. FRESh FRESH FReSH! Looks family owned & customer service was awesome. I ordered everything flat bagel with sausage egg and cheese and scallion spread. Mouthwatering. Bagel was toasty but soft on inside!

Great bagels, disappointing that the staff doesn't wear masks during a pandemic. If anyone should be wearing a mask, it's food handlers coming into contact with hundreds of people a day in a small store. Not cool.

Went during COVID times. Wait was decent. Food was good. We called ahead, they didn't get our order exactly correct, but it was still tasty!

Really enjoy stopping here every time I'm in the northport area. Their bagels are the best I've had on Long Island. Hot and fresh, good variety and their egg everything was so tasty. They also sell the largest cookies I have ever seen and will have to try next time. I really enjoy that you can also get a variety of beverages from pineapple juice to Yoo-hoo and you can get a large orange juice which was nice for us as there was a group of us enjoying the bagels. It is cash only so just make sure you're prepared for that.

I was visiting a friend in NY and went on a 2 mile walk to get a good bagel. The bagel did not disappoint but the place only takes cash and has absolutely no seating. I'd think you can find just as good a bagel or better with much better accommodations.

The bagels were fresh, sandwich and bagel was made to order. We didn't have a problem with wait-time. We were assisted quickly and waited a few minutes for our bagels. The bagels were fluffy, chewy, and not overly salty with is a problem we've found with many of the bagel places we've tried in Long Island. Coffee was ok. Small parking area near the store + some parking on the side street. CASH Only!

I was never a bagel person. Bagels to me are always doughy, thick, not that tasty and just not my thing. That was until I tried Country Hot Bagels, and they are THE ONLY bagels I eat. They are perfectly cooked, salty and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, not very thick, perfectly home-made. Whatever water they are boiling these in, is the right one. My favorite, and go-to order is the everything bagel scooped out with fat free scallion cream cheese. It's amazing. I need to stop eating these though because this place is where your svelte shape goes to die.

their bagels are really good and fresh, gone many times. however, it is better to pick up bagels and cream cheese and make at home because when you order on the spot you get INCREDIBLY untoasted and cold bagels, absolutely drenched with too much cream cheese. Also, never get coffee here, it is gross! bottom line: great fresh bagels, staff that doesn't know how to toast them, butter them, or make a good pot of coffee. Best to grab and make on your own.

This by far my favorite bagel place in the area. The bagels are FRESH FRESH FRESH!!! I mean what else can be said? The only negative is the serious lack of parking but I won't take any stars for that bc the bagels are just THAT good!

I love the bagels here. The only place that I've had that maybe has better NY-style bagels is the original Bagel Boss in Hicksville. Regardless, if you're in the mood for a bagel or are visiting from out of state, you can't go wrong with this place. Since it closes so early you don't really need to worry much about freshness, which can certainly be a problem elsewhere. Just make sure to bring cash as this is a cash-only establishment!

A Northport staple. One of the best bagel shops in the area. The quality of the food here has been consistent for well over twenty years. Be prepared to wait, although the line does move at a fair pace. The line is out the door at breakfast time and on weekends, but it is a testament to their quality. The store is quaint albeit a bit dingy, and the lighting is poor. Sandwiches are made to order, and are delicious. The selection is good and comfort food is plentiful. Do not expect the newest fad here. Food has been and always is hearty and consistent. Parking can be difficult. The employees are friendly and make you feel welcome. Highly recommended.
