I stayed for 9 days at Mandra Edera in their high season in August 2019 to get away alone from Manhattan New York City and be with horses in nature by myself.
I found it to be a rustic location with a relaxed and attentive atmosphere for those who enjoy a quiet and natural experience. The pace and activities you wish to do are at your leisure, there is no stress here.
The horses are beautiful and well cared for. The lessons by Stefano will really help you improve your riding, no matter your background or skill, he is so nice and patient. Paola and Daniele are excellent hosts and professional riders, their attention to detail and love for the land and animals will teach you how to be a better horse person and show you their unique historical Sardinian culture .
Each person working there will help make you as comfortable as possible, thanks to Jessica, Alina, Barbara, Coco and his kitchen and everyone else . The room is comfortable and they make it very clean for you, this is a good place to come alone or with your children.
The food is plentiful and simple, if you are hungry from riding you will enjoy that it is prepared and served with love, and meant to be eaten slowly while you watch the dogs and horses and garden. Everything here is done with pure intention. I also hope that others feel this way when visiting here.
They have a wine cellar and you can enjoy local wine, which I recommend. The pool was cool and clean, and a nice place to take a nap after you have been out riding all morning. The large garden is clean and well groomed, the horses sometimes graze there.
The way of life here is slower paced and relaxed, come stay for a week or more and you are certain to be enchanted by a simple commune with nature this country club facilitates.
The rides out (excursions) are varied and well guided, if you come here seeking riding in nature you are sure to find a little bit of magic. You will ride among grape and fig groves, see ancient architecture, and maybe get invited to a local festival. If you love horses and meeting others who also share this love, you will leave feeling better than when you arrived.
I'll be back, and I highly recommend this rural spot
