Google
Absolutely fantastic restaurant. Service was quick and attentive without being too much. It felt like a family establishment, with a professional, friendly and helpful demeanor by the employees. Although the restaurant was very busy, I was attended quickly, there were plenty of staff, and the food came out exactly at the right time. Food was also diner priced, which is great for families. Exactly what I'm looking for in a family diner, strongly recommend.

Google
I was sat as soon as I arrived. Nice, big dining room. Plenty of tables to handle a big breakfast/lunch rush. They also sell pastries, oils, etc. I got a steak skillet and added avocado and it was delicious. Food came fast. Prices were fair.

Google
Denver omelet was really good. Great size with 3 eggs. Red potatoes were tasty, but heavy on the seasoning. Toast came out a bit late, but was a good multigrain. Nice place.

Google
Food was truly outstanding and even though it was absolutely packed the food was fast, hot and fresh. We got skillets loaded with deliciousness and a side of the crazy potatoes that had feta, sun dried tomatoes olive oil and seasonings and OMG!!! I could eat these potatoes as a meal!!! There is nothing spectacular or unusually unique about the decor or anything but everyone is very welcoming and friendly and the manager is out on the floor checking in with tables. Will absolutely be back to try the dinner specials.

Google
Dave R (server) was super cute and friendly! What a great human being. He made the whole dining experience ten times better. The food was good, but he really just sold the whole experience. Honestly, give that man a raise. I tried to poach him for my own employer but he was steadfast. I'm not from the area, but I'll definitely be stopping in!

Google
My group came in and they were ready for group of 11 food was good my only complaint was they did not have real fried chicken wings they had wing dings that were airfried not fried with flour. But every thing else was wonderful

Rosanne Beltz (BeltzBusters)

Google
Unique menu. Portion sizes bountiful. Everything was freshly made, not frozen. Had breakfast. Country fried steak (all fresh), with homemade sauce that actually had real fresh sausage. Steak could have been pounded out more do wasn't as chewy. We also had the hog breakfast. Both with red potatoes which were delicious. Very nice atmosphere! Clean, and friendly. They have a wood fired pizza oven. We plan on going back!

Google
Nice, little breakfast place. Homemade food, a staff that feels like family, and even their homemade teas and such. The food came out quickly and tasted very down-to-earth. If you have time, go to their website and read their story behind their kitchen, it makes the vibe feel more real. The interior design is nice, but felt a little off. You'd have to sit down yourself to understand it, because it's nice, but it feels like something is missing in the design.

Yelp
I loooooove the food for real . The service is so good and the waiter thought we were special bc we were having such a good time (lol) . The ambience reminds me of my aunts house, she died last year after she was burned in a car fire. I miss her sm.

Yelp
First off our waiter was outstanding. Very attentive stop back and checked on things not once not twice but three times. Later I learned he was the owner son. That was on my way out. The menu was comprehensive and the food was great. I had corn beef hash. I ordered a cinnamon French bread toast something or another. When I got back to the hotel and gave it to Peggy it was outstanding. The ambience of the restaurant was great it was what you expect for breakfast diner. Lots of seating. if you're in the area I would highly recommend you try it their menu was pretty comprehensive breakfast lunch dinner whatever your fancy. The old guy

Yelp
Country House is such a great place for families, their customer service is impeccable! They really make sure that you're taken care of. Everything is delicious . I've ordered their tasty Strawberrry Peach Mimosa and it really "hit the spot." You can really taste the peach in the Mimosa. For my breakfast entrée, I've ordered their Cinnamon Roll French Toast. It was delectable. It comes with frosting , but I'm opted out since the French toast is already sweet with Cinnamon Roll dough. Country House has a wide selection of breakfast items as well as lunch & dinner entrées. Their prices on their menu are reasonable.

Jackie K.

Yelp
Excellent breakfast. Started with a carafe of mimosas followed by strawberry crepes and I had the blueberry lemon muffin French toast. So delicious! Big shout out to our fabulous waitress Hope! You are so personable girl

Yelp
No complaints here. Stopped here to grab dinner for my grandmother. Location was easily accessible with parking lot. I opted for take out but was able to enjoy a glass of red wine ($9) while they prepared the food. Food: Pan fried chicken with mash potatoes and green beans (choice of side), Chicken Kebab with Rice and Cucumber Salad with Feta plus Pita. Each dinner came with choice of soup or salad. I opted for cheese broccoli soup and tomato basil. They also placed complimentary bread and butter in my bag. Yum dinner entrees were $20 each. Dinner was good. I was starving and ate all my food but saved soup for later. My grandmother was able to make two meals out of pan fried chicken. I ended up making grilled cheese with the bread and gave my husband my soup since he hadnt eaten dinner. Dessert counter looked so good so grabbed a few sweets. Pound cake $3, Cheesecake $4.95 and Pecan Bar $3.95. Cheesecake was good. Pecan bar was too sweet for me. All in all cute place. Good food. Would try again if in the area. I think they are more known for brunch. People were getting breakfast for dinner.

Yelp
The food was delicious; the service was awesome. A hidden gem in Alsip, IL. We came back to order more food the next day. Delicious!!

Yelp
Unassumingly amazing... felt like something new and spotted this driving by and walked in. The outside curb appeal is a bit lacking and the inside is ok but completely unassuming, we've all heard to never judge a book by its cover - this was the case! The food was awesome I got the all day brunch burger and paired that with the parmesan fries and the baked French onion soup. My wife got the meatloaf and everything has awesome. The waiter was friendly and very attentive which also helped make this a great experience. This was the first time here but absolutely not the last

Yelp
Good spot for breakfast with a diverse menu. Something for everyone and a decent Bloody Mary too. They also have mimosas. The omelettes and potatoes are very good and so is the service. They also have a very nice dessert counter with gourmet pastries. Would recommend.

Dana K.

Yelp
So good I might go back again tomorrow! I had the fettuccine Alfredo (added chicken) with the Caesar salad, a side of sweet potatoes, and a chocolate whipped cream cake(COHO). I'm not sure what they make the croutons out of for the salad but they may be the best ones I've ever had. Alfredo sauce was really good and the portions were very generous. All the desserts looked so amazing it was hard to pick just one- the one I picked was great but I really don't think you could go wrong with all of them. And the two ladies up front are amazing! These are the kinds of places that make you want to support local!

Yelp
Our party of 10 had a reservation so we were seated immediately for breakfast. I started with a Bloody Mary which had tons of green olives, not too spicy. I ordered the saganaki skillet, a dish of potatoes, onions, tomato, spinich, egg, and saganaki cheese. It was quite tasty and filling. Our server was full of sass and fun, checking on us regularly.

Rhonda S.

Yelp
Yes, the food was excellent, and the service was fantastic. The Amber set the mood. Yes, easy to park. The parking establishment was perfect. The room was spacious. The service was excellent and the price is amazing.

Yelp
Country House is our family's go to place when none of us want to cook. Good food, breakfast all day and a menu for everyone makes it a hit. The fresh bakery goods in the case on the front counter and the return of the black bread clinched The Country House for us Just wish they were open past 8pm

Yelp
I love Country House Restaurant! All their food on the menu was excellent and mouthwatering! Their place is perfect for breakfast and quick lunch or brunch. I got their awesome pancake, salad, and their chicken noodle soup. Their pancakes were great and sweet. Salad was gigantic and overload. The chicken noodle soup was made to perfection and still hot when served. I really had an awesome experience and I can definitely go back again and again just to order the same food I had. Would definitely recommend this place to all the people I know.

Marie M.

Yelp
Dinner salad a 1/3 of the size compared to dinner salad I had when I dined in last week. Received focaccia instead of the good Italian bread they normally have; was told they don't have the other bread. Cold salad put in with piping hot soup. ‍ Soup & salad and no silverware. Can't even spare a napkin yet their prices to continue to rise, some $2 per item! A very disappointing experience today!

Stephen V.

Yelp
I was here this morning for breakfast, and in the dinning room it was quiet fit start with, but a group of men cheered all that, and an older and quiet man but still pretty quiet even through they open at 8 am and close at 8 pm. I had their buttermilk pancakes. Their pancake menu is not huge like IHOP or The Original Pancake House. But still it is nice that the Country House is open for all 3 meals, and how many breakfast places can you come to later in the day lunch or dinner and get pizza at?

Yelp
I've been to Country House several times while visiting my sisters and cousins in the south suburbs and always had a good experience. I usually order their "Biscuits & Gravy", the best ever. As a rule, most restaurants have a plain white gravy with bits of breakfast sausage but not at Country House they put a sausage patty on top of the biscuit the eggs come next and then they put a generous amount of gravy on top. They even have bits in the gravy in addition to the sausage patty. Somehow I missed the delicious home fries that come with it. Good coffee and service in a nice family atmosphere.

Kevin R.

Yelp
This place has the best food on the south side.Whether it's their burgers or breakfast there's not a better restaurant around trust me when I say this place is awesome.
google avatar

Fernando M.

Yelp
Nice restaurant and bar. Cozy but lots of business so come early. Known for their burgers.
google avatar

Tiffany T.

Yelp
Diner type restaurant that has a bit of everything and plenty of gluten free options. Lots of tea choices too.

Yelp
We hadn't been there for a number of years but it made a great Easter day brunch. Prices have gone way up but hey, that's everywhere. Portions were super enormous and the service very responsive. Used to go here with my Mom and it was a nice memorial to her after visiting the cemetery. Our out-of-town guest was flabbergasted at the astounding array of choices on the menu! If you love gravy they bring it! Great coffee.
google avatar

Mike L.

Yelp
Great atmosphere with great table service. Food cooked fresh in good timing. Menu works well for any appetite. Sangria was awesome.

Sue H.

Yelp
Another terrific meal. Went with my family for my birthday my granddaughter had pizza and shared her dad's burger. My other granddaughter had a burger. Food and service were both awesome
google avatar

Tee L.

Yelp
A hidden gem. I like the choices here, settled for the filet mignon gyro, barbacoa tacos, tomato basil soup and spinach feta rice. The food could use a tad bit more flavor, but overall after a few sprinkles of salt it transformed and was edible. I was too full for dessert, but on my next visit, I'd love to try it and their breakfast. Happy I discovered this place.
google avatar

Cathee R.

Yelp
Oh my gosh oh my favorite places to go. The food is awesome. The food is excellent. The funny thing is as they do a lot of service, honey if I ate food like this in school, I would've showed up more lol love the food love the food I love the food

Angelica R.

Yelp
Food and service are always amazing. Big portion sizes. I recommend their gluten free pancakes, asparagus stuffed omelet, and always their red potatoes! However, you can't go wrong with really anything on the menu.
google avatar

Mai T.

Yelp
Excellent egg Benedict!! Will head back there to try the other items for sure!! Prices are reasonable too!! In the summer they had lovely outdoor dinning!!
google avatar

Yelp
I was here for breakfast this morning, not totally super busy, but for the meals breakfast, lunch, and dinner they will have enough options for everybody. I ordered their buttermilk pancakes, since I seem to has in the past, chocolate chip waffle, that some point they took off. Which their portion are 3 pancakes, but they do have a short stack if you can't eat all that. Few different options for pancakes and waffles.

Rudolfo C.

Yelp
Food is great service is even better good family feeling and pizza made in a brick oven is great
google avatar

Alivia G.

Yelp
I can't complain about anything. Had the house eggs Benedict and st Patrick's skillet. Every thing was so fresh. The corn beef and the ham just melted in u mouth wit tons of great flavor. Cant wait to try their lunch/dinner

LTrain N.

Yelp
The food quality here is average, but the service is very good. The ambience is family friendly and not too loud. It's also very large, so getting a seat is never a problem, except on Mother's Day. We typically get breakfast when we come here, though we've had a few dinners. Other reviews recommend this and that but to me, everything is mediocre. The only reason to come would be because the other better restaurants have long waits and you're hungry.

Liz S.

Yelp
What a great place to eat! Place has an extensive menu with a full breakfast available all day. Food is made to order with nice big portions. Will certainly return!

Debbie M.

Yelp
Literally the best restaurant in that area!!! the food is amazing. The employees are very friendly. They go above and beyond you won't be sorry.
google avatar

Yelp
Huge menu and besides "staples" some very creative dishes. Our server was pleasant and very accommodating. Great food and huge portions. A very busy Sunday am but everything was cooked to perfection and delivered promptly. Great choice! We'll be back.

Donna F.

Yelp
Great food! Good size portions, great service. Chicken Marcello is one of the best dishes I have had there. This restaurant is family owned in very clean.

Livonia W.

Yelp
THESE GUYS ROCK!!!!! My company used them for the first time for our Christmas luncheon. Not only were Chris and her Assistant on time for setup (actually, they arrived BEFORE TIME), they were so friendly, helpful and professional! And the food was DELICIOUS!!!! This is the start of a beautiful relationship!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Good food. Great Service at fair prices. They have meals for vegans and everyone in between. Soups are fresh and hearty.
google avatar

Jeudi J.

Yelp
Excellent food in a comfy, pleasant environment with good service and huge menu. But...I always get the Argentinean salad with the most amazing chimichurri ranch dressing & grilled steak & garlic bread. The French onion soup is always delicious too and everything I've seen others get looks great too, but I'm addicted to the salad. I should go more often!

Yelp
It was Ok. I had been here once before for breakfast about two years ago. From what I remember the Steak & Eggs, were pretty good. So the BF & I decided to really give this place a try. We ordered a sausage pizza, to share. I ordered the Fried Chicken Dinner, with a garlic salad & red potato's. (*I WAS HANDED A FRIED PORK CHOP, & THERE WAS NOBODY AROUND TO SAY ANTHING TO*) The BF ordered the Pulled Pork Dinner, with soup and beans. *******To start, the Pork Chop- I DID NOT ORDER, I decided to keep it since I couldn't find someone.. & because I didn't want to be a complainer. It takes work to fry a pork chop, and I really wasn't in the mood to be a negative person and start complaining.******* The Pork Chop was bone in, and was kind of tough. It was super hot, and that was very pleasant as I LOVE my food piping hot. It really wasn't worth the price, as it did not have a lot of meat on the bone & was not moist. The pizza was pretty good. It really should have been cooked a bit longer, as the cheese was barely melted. But I know trying to control a pizza oven like that is next to impossible. The BF's Pulled Pork Dinner, was written all over his face. Disappointing. Very, VERY RARELY has he EVER complained about food. This was a swing and a miss. I was told that the pork itself was so/so. But there wasn't much of it, and the bread kind of took over the plate. Even though I paid for the meal, he said it "was not worth that price at all". I think some things at this restaurant can be hit or miss. It's like a General Restaurant, but with a neat brick oven.

Yelp
Loved this restaurant for years. Now the quality of the food has greatly decreased. Worse than that my dad was just served turkey that smelled terrible. It would have made him sick. There is no way their cooks didn't smell that it was bad. When we brought it back they argued with us and tried to insist the meat wasn't bad.

Don L.

Yelp
Eatin here a few times food was good saw something today that I can't Un see. Watched two servers and two hostesses pickup salads and fruit with their bare hands and place the items in a bowl. Would've never seen this if I didn't sit at the countertop seating. Never seen that before in a restaurant

Yelp
A friend moved to Crestwood several years ago, and we found Country House. I've probably eaten there 50 or more times and have never been disappointed. I can't imagine a bad review. They have a great variety, and everything is prepared fresh - nothing has been sitting on a warming table all day. Great breakfast, magnificent delicious huge salads (Jeudi's review is right - the Argentinean salad is wonderful), terrific sides (their red potatoes are so tasty), and excellent, friendly service. Their soups are homemade and delicious. My friend and I are older (okay...old) women, and we often ask to split a meal. The kitchen/servers are always willing to accommodate our request. Their prices are reasonable, too. It's not posted, if if you're over 65, ask for the senior discount which I believe is 10%. I like this place so much, going there for my birthday lunch. Once, my friend ordered fried zucchini as a side, and they were slightly undercooked. That's the worst thing I can say about Country House. Also want to point out their public service. During the lockdown last year, they offered free (FREE!) dinners and delivery to seniors in their delivery area. There was no choice, just what was prepared that day (meatloat, spaghetti and meatballs, etc.) with soup. I think that shows the kind of people the owners are. This place is the best.

Joanne M.

Yelp
Good food, friendly people, nice ambience. Bright lighting. And not too expensive. Comfort food

Steve C.

Yelp
Not been her in awhile. Changed up a few things starting with all the new selections on the menu. Many , many healthy choices!! Thank you for giving us options when eating our and each of them delicious. Delightful servers

Yelp
****NEW FAVORITE**** Honest, healthy homemade eats is so difficult to come by these days. Country House Restaurant is one of those difficult places to find. Not only is their food top notch but the interior "country house" look and feel is very inviting. Besides the food and decor they also sell brand products like soaps and candles. The Country House is more than just a restaurant it's an experience. Upon entrance you can't help but notice all the news paper articles of accomplishments and community assistance that the Country House Restaurant provides. There's something about being a customer to a brand that is notable and honorable that makes you want to return as much as possible knowing your money is more than just profit. The main owner, Paul, and part owner, Dave, were kind enough to answer questions about their products and business. When owners are present at their business and ensuring satisfaction it shows in their products. Not only do they provide a service as a restaurant but the brand also assists local schools and the community. My hat off to this brand. I have nothing but good to say about this brand. I initially came in for Blue berry pancakes. Lol. After seeing their Italian imported brick oven I quickly changed my mind. I also noticed they make their own olive oil which gravitated me towards their Greek dishes. If you know Greek you know Saganaki is a must. It was bitter and savory. Perfectly cooked. Unfortunately I gobbled it up before taking a pic. Lol. I had the chicken rice soup that was perfectly balanced and flavorful. For main dish I order the Athenian chicken. Dave even asked if I would like for it to be finished in the brick oven which I happily agreed. Before the main dish came out Dave brought out a small dish of their homemade olive oil to sample. The oil was delicious. The main dish came out on a big plate and filled the air with scents of spices and herbs comparable to those at momma's House. And momma is on of the best cooks around! The flavors matched the smells. Half a rotisserie chicken, potatoes, tomatoes, artichoke, garlic, basil, rosemary, oregano were blended together for perfection. A good dish makes your mouth water before you even taste it. I left nothing but bones behind. With a full stomach and smile I made my way to the register. Before I was able to pay for my bill was able to meet Paul. Paul took time out of his work day to give me a presentation of how they make their olive oil. It was great. He made a book full of pictures of their olive trees and the process that the olives went through to make the oil. What an amazing experience. Overall this place is 5 stars. Great food, services and atmosphere. I'll be back ASAP!!! Thanks for the great experience!!!

Yelp
What a gem! Upon walking in, we were warmly greeted with a smile. There was no wait and we were seated right away. The menu offered so many choices, gluten free, vegetarian, etc. we did not wait long for our breakfast and it was very fresh. Best tasting pancakes ever! Our waitress was wonderful with explaining their specialties (potatoes) and our other questions. She consistently came to check on us and to refill my coffee cup. She also placed a carafe of water on our table for us. The manager even came over and greeted us to ensure our breakfast was to our satisfaction. The restaurant is warmly decorated and they even offer a banquet room for large parties and they do catering. At checkout, we were asked again how was put meal. This place is top notch for customer service, we will be back!

Yelp
This is one of the few reliable and consistent good places to eat. I've never personally had a bad experience here in years, but reading some of the reviews, they occasionally have some bad days but no place is perfect all the time. They have a good menu variety and the waitresses are friendly and have been there for over ten years! If there are any complaints to be made, the owners are almost always sitting up at the front counter by the door and are really friendly and are glad to help remedy any bad situation you have. I can't realistically see any review being worse than three stars here because like I said, I've been coming here for YEARS and am pretty satisfied!

Karen R.

Yelp
Always good food and the staff is very friendly. I have never had a rude waitress or waiter, always come and fill our coffee without asking. Go for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Love this place. Place is always very clean. Only bad thing about this restaurant. Is the menu is so big it takes me 20 minutes to figure out what I want, which is a good thing.

Yelp
The Country House is amazing! In this trying time(COVID-19) they're taking care of the Seniors, Veterans, and people who can't come out...today they had Mac-n-Beef, Corn, and Cabbage Soup(so good)...I tweaked the Mac-n-Beef...added onion, green pepper, Herb tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, and Italian cheese blend...baked it! OMG it was sooo good! Thanks Country House for your generosity my husband(stroke victim) and I have dinner for two days
