Country Samurai Coffee in Kailua-Kona serves smooth, hand-grown Kona coffee straight from lush volcanic slopes, plus treats like chocolate-covered beans.
"Distinctly Kona Coffee Kona coffee is famous around the world as one of Hawaii's best known products. The relatively small coffee growing area on the Big Island of Hawaii produces only a small fraction of the world's coffee beans. The limited production makes Hawaii Island's caffeinated product like liquid gold for Kona coffee lovers. Among the hundreds of coffee farms on the Big Island, Country Samurai Coffee Company operates a lush and green outfit on the Kona slopes and still grows their coffee trees in a natural and traditional method that enables them to grow tall—up to 18 feet. Harvesting requires ladders and can be time-consuming, but the trees are able to develop a larger root system, pull in more nutrients from the volcanic soil, and produce more coffee berries. To try these distinctly grown beans, visit the family owned Country Samurai Coffee shop in Kailua-Kona. The shop sells several other items including chocolate covered coffee beans and macadamia nuts and Hawaiian teas."

Met the owner while walking through the store on my honeymoon in 2010. This coffee is soooo wonderful! I usually need sugar in my coffee, but this is so smooth, not bitter that I don't need it! The owner walked me around himself & told me about his family & their farm! He is obviously very proud of his product & he helped me sample & pick out several purchases. I have had it delivered since - it is so good I ask for it from my hubs for Christmas/birthdays!

Hands-down the best coffee in Kona! Speaking of locally-grown, the owner grows all the goods himself. Coffee is carefully sorted by grade and roast, and is available in multiple sizes, both ground and whole bean. Prices are very reasonable, and there are plenty of free samples so you can figure out your perfect match...Enjoy!

The store owner was really friendly and super helpful, and the prices were pretty good for Kona coffee, but the coffee beans were really disappointing. I bought a bag of the fancy grade beans and it was not going of coffee. Maybe I got a bad batch but I bought maybe 8 or 9 different brands of Kona coffee and this was by far the worst. From all the other positive reviews maybe I just got a mislabeled bag and it was not in fact the highest grade there but it did not taste good.

Met the owner of the company while wandering through the store. He was extremely friendly and open, answered a lot of questions and showed us photos of his plantation and told us about its history. Chocolate covered beans were awesome and the coffee is excellent

Walter - who runs it - grows the coffee himself and is a third-generation Kona coffee grower. Wonderful guy and great coffee. True 100% classic kona. They also ship.
He was very sweet to our two young girls. Little hole-in-the-wall shop. He gives a great explanation of the grades of kona. Tasty chocolate-covered coffee beans with premium chocolate.
We're going to order several pounds of Fancy Select shipped when we get home - shipping isn't that expensive.
Awesome!
