Booked this hotel for a week in a regular two-bed room, and we still have one more awful day here - I don't even know why we haven't gotten a refund and went somewhere else yet. I'm a local that lives here in Galloway, but needed to get a hotel with my family while we move from one house to another. To start, when we booked the room, the manager made an attempt to rip us off and charge us much more than their website price for the week - we could've easily booked it right then and there in the office and let him know, so he decided to cooperate. The room was for THREE ADULTS AND TWO CHILDREN UNDER 3 YEARS OLD. The next morning they're standing outside our door, trying to look in and as we're carrying our 4 month old baby out, the manager tries to argue that the room is only for two adults. So, my father calls him from work to argue and ends up proving we're right and he leaves us alone.
Second, when we check into the room, the showerhead is rusty, both beds are broken and fold like tacos, bathroom door handle broken, door doesn't lock right, and on the tv, the sound is faster than the picture. Not to mention they monitor the internet connection for the rooms, slowing it down if you watch two 10 minute videos or something every day (good luck watching more than two videos, they slow it down to the point where the videos don't load anymore), and the air conditioner doesn't keep the room cool very well. We leave to go to work and what have you, and come back and the bathroom doorknob is mysteriously fixed, but nothing is out of order. We have a Do Not Disturb sign on the door, but they came in and fixed it anyway...not too bad, but still coming in when nobody's there when they aren't supposed to.
Then, we come back a few minutes ago and the door is unlocked. Our sign is still on the door, and we're sure we locked it before we left. Upon coming inside, all the appliances are turned off, or unplugged, or what have you. My father's bag of medicines (for thyroid, blood pressure, etc) has been gone through, too. I send my husband to the office, and they admit coming in to "save some green" and turning everything off: again, without permission and with the Do Not Disturb Sign on the door.
There's so much more to complain about and good reasons why nobody should EVER stay here, but alas, it's far too much to write out for you all. If I could give this place 0 stars I most certainly would.
Entering without permission, trying to steal/cheat you out of extra money, invading people's privacy, broken appliances and furniture, and harassment. If you're looking for a place to stay just outside of Atlantic City, trust me, there's a good 15+ other hotels right here within walking distance!
