Had a sneak peek at their holiday pop up bar experience called 'Miracle'. The drinks are very creative, fabulously tasty and don't skimp on the alcohol. Very fun decorations and holiday music. Had the opportunity to meet the owner who is incredibly nice. Check it out! Highly recommended!!

Great twists on drinks and they are big and loud. If you took the fun of a cruise ship and a San Francisco street fair and blended it all in a drink that’s what you’re getting. Excellent desserts as well. Great after dinner drink place. They even had live music playing. I hope the popularity picks up because the vibe could benefit from the buzzy background chatter of a dozen good conversations going on.

This is a review for Miracle, the Christmas pop up at Coupe and Stein. While the decorations were fun and plentiful, the atmosphere was just kind of off. A little too bright, empty, and quiet (the music cut off unexpectedly while we were there). The drinks were solid but the food was a let down. I had the shrimp cocktail and it was served in a coupe with chips and salsa. My husband got the Carolina Bullets which he said were ok. The service was great- our server was funny and attentive. Overall maybe it was an off night, but not what we were expecting.

This place is uniquely decorated and has a relaxing atmosphere to it. You can either dress down or dress up. This bar has the décor to either bring an intimate night for 2 or a casual get-together for 6. The drink menu is large but unique, so there is something for every taste bud. The food menu is short, as this place is very much a small plate bar. If you're looking for restaurant size portions, this isn't the place for that, but the food is actually tasty and tends to pair well with the drinks. Coupe and Stein is a bar for any occasion, and it's definitely worth coming back to.

Google
The website definitely was the complete opposite of the menu when we got there. Only one person working behind the bar so the drinks took forever to actually arrive. Sh the bartender was laughing and talking more than making drinks which took even longer. The average drink cost around $20 bucks in tiny tiny cups definitely overpriced, but the drinks was good and strong. when you walk in the place it’s absolutely beautiful and reminds you of a Christmas Wonderland, cute to take pictures for social media. Other than that there’s only overpriced cookies and brownies. Overall it was cute but definitely won’t be back.

We brought our daughter here to celebrate her birthday and really loved the vibe of this place. Amazing seating options for great conversations. We had a mini cake that was amazing and the drink menu was fun and had a ton of options. The staff was super friendly. This place may be off the beaten path but worth finding!

Such a cute hangout! I went alone on Saturday and was immediately greeted by Riley at the bar. I had the shrimp cocktail which was so fresh and the mango salsa was everything! I had two cocktails the 1901 (my fav) and the Basil-ly (something I forget lol) which were good too. There was a sip & paint event wrapping when I showed up but I will definitely try that out next time they have it. I will be back with my girls. Loved the vibe. Make sure to see Riley!!!!

This place is a truly a hidden gem in Durham. My husband and I came for the first time after our anniversary dinner for a night cap. The atmosphere is both modern and cozy, and somehow perfectly emphasizes that this place is a champagne bar. The food and drinks were amazing, and reasonably priced considering the quality and the area. The staff are very friendly, attentive, and work hard to make your visit enjoyable. Will certainly be back and encourage others to visit often.

Yelp
Coupe & Stein in Durham is exactly the kind of place you want to end a holiday evening, festive, cozy, and sparkling with charm. Tucked inside the American Tobacco Campus, the bar is beautifully designed with vintage touches and modern elegance, but it's the holiday decor that truly makes it shine. They go all out. From floor to ceiling, it's a Christmas wonderland with glowing lights, garlands, ornaments, and glittering touches at every turn. It's even been featured in local press, and rightfully so. The service was excellent. The staff made us feel taken care of from the moment we walked in. Everyone was friendly, enthusiastic about the menu, and went above and beyond to make sure our experience was perfect. We kicked things off with a glass of Gruet Rosé, crisp and bright with just the right amount of celebratory flair. The Christmaspolitan was a seasonal standout, vodka, elderflower, dry vermouth, cranberry sauce, lime, and a hint of rosemary and absinthe mist. It was complex but incredibly smooth and well-balanced. My personal favorite was the Cheery Cherry Chocosaurus, a bold mix of brandy, sweet vermouth, dark crème de cacao, cherry, chocolate, and lemon with chocolate bitters and brandied cherries. It was rich, indulgent, and felt like dessert in a glass. To pair with drinks, we ordered a few small plates. The Crab Dip with Crostini was warm, creamy, and packed with flavor, and the Mac n' Cheese Balls were crispy on the outside with gooey, three-cheese centers, served alongside a sweet pepper jelly that pulled everything together. Coupe & Stein is an absolute must-visit for cocktails and small plates in Durham, especially during the holidays!

Yelp
Really cool vibe at this "Champagne Bar", situated in a basement. As others have stated, feels like a "Pink Speakeasy". Lots of feathers, pink, chandeliers, and rhinestones (including our champagne glasses). Menu included champagne and cocktails, and small bites for food. TIP: Uber really struggles when dropping off and picking up here, helps to put in "The Cotton Room" as your location.

Yelp
A very comfy and cozy modern champagne bar - the decor and pink theme were super fun. They had live music with a musician who played the piano and sang while we were there which was a nice touch. The atmosphere inside was otherwise relaxed and drinks were good. Will have to return for their holiday menu and ambiance.

Yelp
Pro tip: on your first visit, sign up with your email address/phone number (I don't think I've even received any messages from them since) and you get a free dessert on your birthday! I especially love their mocktails. This time, I got the Lychee Keen (Kentucky 74, lychee, luxardo cherries, lime juice- the sweet/tart contrast was chef's kiss) and Oreo Cake (absolutely no notes- loved the layers of chocolate cake, cream, and soft Oreos). Service was fast and friendly. Ambiance is great: pink speakeasy vibe, super cute. Still 10/10 would recommend!

Yelp
One of my new favorite cocktail bars in Durham! Obsessed. Could not be more cute. On one hand, I want to tell everyone and their sister about it, it's so cute. On the other hand, I want to keep it on the DL because I don't want it to get too popular that I can't get in! The decor and ambiance is A++ - love the pink and glam of this place. The drinks are EXCELLENT. Tons of great champagne cocktails, other cocktails and wine and spirits. Also a large and yummy selection of mocktails! The food (mostly small plates) is okay but the dessert is scrumptious! Service is friendly. Perfect place to go for a girls night out, bday party or even Bach!!

Yelp
I love bubbly so of course I had to check this place out. I came on Saturday around 730pm with a girl friend and we had a good time catching up and enjoying some drinks. We were seated along the wall at a low two top. I had a couple glasses of house bubbles (can't beat $6/glass) and we shared the naan flatbread with shrimp and mushrooms. My friend enjoyed her espresso martini and we spent about an hour and a half there. It's in a good area (with EV charging!) by Hi Wire, Cugino, and an ice cream shop. I enjoyed the bubbles and food but to be honest, I can't quite put my finger on it, something seemed to be missing. Service was decent, not overly friendly, and not necessarily rude, maybe just feeling impersonal if that makes any sense.

Yelp
I heard this place described as a "pink speakeasy" and that is pretty accurate. I had seen signs around Golden Belt for this place, but even with signs it is hard to find (it's on the other side from Hi Wire, look for umbrellas and couches and lights). Once you go in the place is very large and feels very fancy (lots of pink and feathers). There were not many other patrons when we went but I think a lot of people don't know it exists. The host and server were both exceptionally friendly (granted there weren't a lot of other people to wait on). I appreciated we got a complimentary fruit bowl. The cocktails were about the same price as other cocktail bars and I was impressed by the funny names. I got "the bathtub" which came with a rubber ducky! I wasn't as in love with the food but they just opened. We had two appetizers and both felt like they were missing something like a dipping sauce. The desserts looked amazing although I didn't try one. As we were leaving the owner (I'm assuming) told us that they are owned by the same people as the Cotton Room one building over and that this bar is the "Coupe" part. Later they hope to open the "stein" part as a beer garden. I look forward to having a new option (especially before lots of people know about it)! There's plenty of parking on that side of Golden Belt and the patio is also dog friendly!

Yelp
We had read about a new champagne bar opening in the Golden Belt complex in Durham and drove over on a whim on a Saturday evening to take a look. They are on the quieter side away from the art galleries and brewery so it took us a while to find them. Once we stepped inside, it felt like we were in a fancy hotel parlor. Yes, it is a little girlie but also elegant. We tried two sparking wines and a very sweet almond coconut cake, but they also have some light bites and tinned fish. They also have champagne cocktails, regular cocktails, plus wine and beer. Our very pleasant server also brought a complimentary fruit cocktail for visiting in their first few weeks. I give them credit for opening a new concept that isn't like anything like it in the area. Right now they are only open Thurs-Sat but I'm sure that will change as they settle in and find their groove. Definitely check them out.

Yelp
I've been wanting to go here ever since it opened and i finally got to have a nice night out with friends! To start the decor is bright and fun! I love the decor with the bright pinks and golds with sequins and the fun furniture. We ordered drinks and popcorn and we did not have any other types of food. All the drinks ordered were really tasty. Our first drink ordered was the pink piano and it was massive. It was tasty but took a while to drink. There wasn't a bad drink in the mix of all the ones we ordered. I like that they have different types of cocktails from the regular ones, to the bubbly ones, to special ones just for the season. The popcorn came in a large order and was tasty. When I went it was garlic parm flavored but they change their flavors. They did have some interesting tapas and food items but we had just came from dinner. The service was great and our waitress checked on us multiple times and we were always asked to refill our drinks. The music stood out the best, with them playing all my high school jams. It was a really fun night out and I want to go back with Family soon!

Yelp
Pros: Came with a group of 6 at 9:30 on a Saturday to celebrate a birthday. There was live music and maybe 1-2 other small tables seated. We ordered cocktails and got free desserts for the bday girl which was lovely. Our server, Alex was prompt in ordering and delivering drinks. Cons: immediately upon arrival we were asked if we had a reservation, and informed that was a preference which is surprising considering there was no one there.. After two rounds of drinks, our server Alex decided that I fit the standard for disorderly and dangerous and proceeded to tell us that our group needed to leave. I asked for an explanation on which behaviors exactly did I exhibit to meet that criteria, to which Alex could not provide specific references. We were all shocked and very disappointed. Needless to say I will not be returning.

Yelp
Amazing! It's a vibe. Take pictures, enjoy the drinks and the entire staff. We went for a friend's birthday and it was such a good time.

Yelp
So walking into this place, I was like this is super cute but why is it empty and as soon as the host - not with the most - asked about a reservation in the empty establishment - I knew we were in for it. We were told it was fine this time but ideally for parties of 4 or more a reservation is preferred but they would accommodate us this time. Cool, thanks, noted. We sat down in the empty establishment on a Saturday night at 9:30 and quickly were served. Drinks came, they were good. Then a second round was ordered and we were greeted upon coming out of the bathroom by our waiter informing us a member of our party was cut off. She was "slurring" her words. Mind you she has dealt with slurred speech her whole life due to a traumatic accident at birth and gone through years of speech therapy. She was no where near disorderly or disruptive. She was quite honestly the most friendly of us all. She confronted the waiter, Alex, with curious as to the reasoning and he quickly coward with his tail between his legs and ran off. At that point we felt extremely unwelcome and decided best to depart the establishment. Oh I also forgot to mention the older gentlemen in the place with what seemed to be urine on his pants dancing around the place but our friendly, non disruptive fried with dry clothes was the problem. No thanks. I won't be back. Enter at your own risk of being judged.

Yelp
I love the atmosphere and ambience. The staff was very transactional and not personable often speaking amongst each other in an environment that was far from crowded. There was limited seating with 10+ reserved tables that never were occupied in the hour's time I was there. The charcuterie board was nice but the ratios of cracker ham cheese and jelly seemed disproportionate. The Carolina Bullets however were amazing and I would order those again. The location was off the beaten path and difficult to find (opposite side of hi-wire). I know the place is new but I have no desire to be back anytime soon. It falls in the bucket of been there and did that. Good luck!

Yelp
Me and my friend went there last weekend and it's like a speakeasy type of place we had a couple of drinks there and they were pretty good! We tried their red velvet tiramisu and omg!! It was soooooo freaking good! The bartenders were lovely and the place was not too loud and they were playing some pretty good music too!!
