Our stay at CTI was very good. This was our first time in Jamaica, and we were excited to stay at Couples. I did a lot of research before choosing this resort, and I’m glad I did. The staff were friendly and pleasant to deal with throughout our stay.
I loved the location and the beach, and the food was good overall. However, we were expecting to see more local fruits and dishes such as mangoes, Genips, fried plantains, and breadfruit. While the food was enjoyable, our expectations were a bit different in that regard.
The most disappointing experience for me was the shopping trip. We were excited to support the local community, especially after Hurricane Melissa, but we were taken to a plaza owned by Indian businesses. There is nothing wrong with that, but I had hoped the excursion would focus more on supporting local Jamaican vendors.
Everything else was very good. We especially enjoyed the included Catamaran Sunset Cruise, and the water sports team were friendly and made our time on the water fun and memorable. The bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed the nature walk around the property with Alfred, he was very knowledgeable and took time to explain about the various plants and trees on the property. As a cat lover, I was also happy to see the cats on the property that was a bonus for me.
Overall, I would return to Couples in the future, but I would choose a different location, possibly Negril, for a change of scenery.
