Couples Tower Isle, Jamaica - Hotel Review | Condé Nast Traveler

"Modern decor and brightly colored murals are the aesthetic at this 226-room, adults-only, all-inclusive resort in Ocho Rios. And when we say all-inclusive, we mean everything —spa treatments, a catamaran cruise, short off-site excursions to Dunn’s River Falls, and golf greens fees, and transfers. Rooms, with ocean or garden views, have furnished balconies and yellow and green accents. Couples also offers access to a small private island where guests can sunbathe in the buff. At the end of the night, go for cocktails at the ’50s-style piano bar—themed music parties are a big deal here. A packed daily schedule of activities could keep you busy all day, but take time out to languish in your private plunge pool if staying in one of the Spa Villas."

"Style Bytes I’m not usually an all-inclusive-hotel fan. I like the intimacy of an inn or a boutique hotel. I can really appreciate when some of the larger hotels pay attention to details and style that makes for intimacy in a more mass market setting. Couples Tower Isle in Ocho Rios is such a success story. “All inclusive and style?” you question……..yes, the perfect couple here! The rooms include fabulous vintage styled rattan furniture and their vignettes in their main lobby area in particular are wonderful and indicative of this new breed of large hotel. Pops of colour, cozy corners and modern artwork were among my favourites………..Oh and the porridge as well at the breakfast buffet! By Tracy Barry"

We have just come back from an incredible stay at Couples Tower Isle and I am so pleased we went. I was a little worried about the ‘dated’ reviews on here, although the hotel is a little in areas it adds to the charm. If you are wanting something ultra modern then maybe book elsewhere but if you are wanting luxury, to feel genuinely cared for and a wonderful experience this is the place for you! The food was absolutely amazing, I cannot fault a single meal that I have eaten whilst being there. I cannot thank or sing praises about the staff enough, what wonderful, friendly people you employ! A special thanks to the below who made our stay truly special:||Kirk- porter|Phelicia |Kasey- Asian restaurant |Jodi- Guest services |Kymani- restaurant |Coushna- Bar staff |Giovanni- Bar staff |Damion- Chef |Samoy- Kitchen |Demario- Bar |Jumananne- Boar|Kevor- Boat|Rhoshanne- Kitchen |Rachel- Towels|Garth- Entertainment ||It is lovely to hear that these staff feel treated well by management and enjoy working at the hotel, for me this gives the hotel extra charm.| |The drinks were faultless and all very lovely.|Although the room was a little dated, the shower worked really well and we had a fabulous view. The bed was really comfortable and there was a wonderful walk in wardrobe. ||The bottomless boat trip was incredible and I would highly recommend. They have so much knowledge and the music is really good. ||The only frustrating thing for me is this hotel has a ‘no tipping policy’ however, I constantly saw the Americans tipping people and one set made a big spectacle/scene about it, which really embarrassed me in the piano bar. It is lovely people want to tip and show gratitude but when we are told it is not allowed, it can be embarrassing. We weren’t treat any differently by the members of staff anyway. ||I would also suggest that in the lounge when you arrive at the airport, maybe have a champagne or wine or cocktail selection for people who don’t drink beer. I feel this was very catered to men. ||I am the third generation of my family to visit this hotel and will be back, it really was all my expectations come true! ||Thank you so much Couples Tower Isle for our wonderful stay 😊

We stayed at this resort for 7 days at the end of January 2025. The rooms were basic but clean, the beds comfy and the AC worked great. This may be a small resort but the views are gorgeous. The staff was great. This was the 9th time I had been to Jamaica, and this resort had the best food! We also signed up for the Couples Rewards and were able to spend a day at the sister resort down the street, Couples San Souci. That was a great perc as it changed it up a little and made us want to try out the other resort too at another time.

We did have a lovely two weeks at this resort but it's a little bit tattie and tired in places, our room had a cracked sink and door handles that were badly fitted. The pools could have been lovely if not for missing tiles and the beach is very small with quite a lot of road noise but It must be doing something right because it has a lot of returning guests.

went for 7 nights in september, it's a decent place if you just want good enough food, strong drinks, and a comfy bed, there's nothing lux about this place. Food was mediocre, we had such a bad experience at Eight Rivers, Bayside also was not great, but the buffet and Verandah was good enough. It's definitely not the same high energy smiling crew we've had at other resorts, but no one treated us badly. Infrastructure is dated and rusted, we constantly got "clean" towels with stains on it, but bed was comfy and water was clean. I do wonder if it's cause we paid for the cheaper garden view cause all the ocean view people seem to have a way better experience.

Following a summer of medical issues and operations we booked this trip fairly late just to get away and relax and we were not disappointed. |We were apprehensive about all|Inclusive as have previously found them to be lacking in quality and not to our taste, this was our last chance at this kind of trip. |For us, the staff were all welcoming, polite and attentive. The reception are at the airport whilst gathering for transport was a great bonus and only dropping off at once resort before us was a blessing. Previous reviews have stated tired and broken fixtures. We stayed in room 2101 which was spacious, yes a little dated but was large and airy and very clean and close to all the amenities. There was a sea and pool view though we did have to look through the tree canopy to see it. This is still classed as out of season so the complex was relatively quiet but this did not reduce the quality or quantity of the food. We ate at Bayside, Eight Rivers, The Veranda, the Pool Grill, The Java Cafe and The Patio. All were good quality and mostly to our taste. |We didn’t use the swim up bar but did use the Piano bar and main bar area and enjoyed the entertainment in the Patio. |We mainly use the beach on a daytime basis good sunlounger drink service and plenty to view, we either ate from the Veggie bar or brought food down from other areas for picnics. |We were concerned about the possibility of sargassum however there was minimal sea weed and the beach waterline was raked and collected at least twice a day. |The refillable drinks bottles were a nice touch. |As we were both recovering from ops we didn’t book. trips or use the water sports, nor did we go out to Tower Isle, however we enjoyed the comings and goings of those using all the services and did enjoy snorkelling off the beach. |This was by far the most relaxing holiday we’ve had and was completely what we both needed. |The bonus was the nightly and natural lightening storms.

Stayed here for seven nights in mid-January and have to say the place really grew on me and I would recommend, despite a number of shortfalls. It is a good two-hour drive from Kingston airport but the complimentary hotel transfer was seamless enough in a small mini bus, complete with decent reggae music along the way! Arriving late at night meant the introduction to the services wasn’t as great as I’d expect but they do offer a daily ‘orientation’ tour at 10am which is great to get you familiar with everywhere in the large complex. ||Our room was on the fourth floor and down the side of the property. At first this felt a little ‘cut off’ but actually was really nice - there were still good ocean views from the balcony but it came with no noise from the pools or evening activities so was totally relaxing. It was a shame that the mini bar was empty on arrival, with no instructions on how to get it stocked, and indeed there was no guide to any of the services or facilities, so the morning orientation session is a must!||It was annoying there were no light switches next to the bed so you need to navigate from the door in the dark, not helped by the fact the bedside lamp was badly broken; some maintenance and touch-up in the room wouldn’t go amiss. It was also frustrating that the shower had really weak power and, while great at always returning throughout the day, housekeeping were very random with what they did - sometimes exchanging four towels for two, large with small etc.||However the main the room was great - really large and spacious, wonderful balcony with seating, effective air-conditioning and ceiling fan, loads of storage space, huge comfortable bed and everywhere really clean. Eventually we found there was a website where you could request the mini-bar to be stocked, as well as make restaurant reservations which was really handy; just a shame it wasn’t advertised better!||The variety of restaurants is great, although most require a reservation to be made. The buffet restaurant had small changes each day to try prevent it becoming repetitive and the food quality across them all was generally good. The various bars throughout the complex are fantastic - great staff, a huge menu and both premium and local spirits available.||There’s a couple of pools and both felt a little dirty as the day went on. There’s also no umbrellas for any of the loungers, so if you’re not a sun lover you need to be careful securing one of the few options in the shade, but otherwise there’s some good comfortable seating available. The swim-up bar is a real gem with wonderful service and a good amount of seating for the size of the pool.||There’s plenty of free activities on offer including various water sports. The glass bottom-boat trip was a nice highlight, giving a good overview of the local area as well as the sea life. Each day there’s also some form of activity on the beach or by the pools, but fortunately none of it is too intrusive and there’s never pressure to join in if you don’t want.||Overall if was a great hotel for a week of relaxation and I’d certainly consider staying again!

We recently stayed at Couples Turtle Isles and were absolutely blown away by the exceptional experience—this resort truly deserves every one of its five stars! First and foremost, the housekeeping services were extraordinary. The meticulous attention to detail and consistent excellence set a new standard for hospitality. In fact, the housekeeping team’s dedication and high standards could serve as a global benchmark for how hotel housekeeping should be conducted. A huge shout-out also goes to the executive chef, who went above and beyond to accommodate our special dietary requests, particularly our craving for breadfruit,. His thoughtfulness and culinary expertise made our stay even more delightful and memorable. Additionally, the bellhop team deserves special mention. Their warmth, genuine hospitality, and eagerness to assist created a welcoming atmosphere right from the moment we arrived. We also want to extend a special thanks to our wonderful driver who took us back to the airport at 7 AM on June 9. Though we unfortunately don’t remember his name, his amazing sense of humor, friendly demeanor, and safe driving made the typically tedious airport transfer exceptionally enjoyable and memorable. The resort itself provided incredible entertainment and a unique, relaxing vibe that’s both chill and effortlessly cool. Couples Turtle Isles offers an experience you simply won’t find elsewhere—one that’s enjoyable, stress-free, and genuinely special. We can’t wait to return!
