Couples Tower Isle, Jamaica - Hotel Review | Condé Nast Traveler

"Modern decor and brightly colored murals are the aesthetic at this 226-room, adults-only, all-inclusive resort in Ocho Rios. And when we say all-inclusive, we mean everything —spa treatments, a catamaran cruise, short off-site excursions to Dunn’s River Falls, and golf greens fees, and transfers. Rooms, with ocean or garden views, have furnished balconies and yellow and green accents. Couples also offers access to a small private island where guests can sunbathe in the buff. At the end of the night, go for cocktails at the ’50s-style piano bar—themed music parties are a big deal here. A packed daily schedule of activities could keep you busy all day, but take time out to languish in your private plunge pool if staying in one of the Spa Villas."

"Style Bytes I’m not usually an all-inclusive-hotel fan. I like the intimacy of an inn or a boutique hotel. I can really appreciate when some of the larger hotels pay attention to details and style that makes for intimacy in a more mass market setting. Couples Tower Isle in Ocho Rios is such a success story. “All inclusive and style?” you question……..yes, the perfect couple here! The rooms include fabulous vintage styled rattan furniture and their vignettes in their main lobby area in particular are wonderful and indicative of this new breed of large hotel. Pops of colour, cozy corners and modern artwork were among my favourites………..Oh and the porridge as well at the breakfast buffet! By Tracy Barry"

Rooms are a bit dated as much of Jamaica is, however my house is also dated. It’s fine :) Common areas/ restaurants/ outdoors are gorgeous and likely where the bulk of the money goes. Amenities are top notch, you will always find something fantastic to eat and drink from poolside burgers to formal dining. The entertainment crew keeps it lively if that’s what you’re into, the spa and grounds crew keeps in serene if that’s more your speed. The Au Natural island is really an amazing feature. There is a swim up bar on one end and a quieter place to relax on the other. They also bring food and entertainment to the island so there’s no need to get dressed to get anything. There is a bathroom and snorkel access as well. We had a jetted tub room overlooking the island and the views were spectacular, though I’m sure the garden views are as well. Everyone we met has been upbeat, energetic and made us feel not only welcome but special. We booked here after the hurricane changed our original plans, but we are already making plans to come back. Thank you CTI!

Recommended this hotel by friends who have been many times and who like the same places as us. ||The hotel was clearly glorious back in the day. The layout is great and being a small ish hotel nothing is too far away. It is ready for a good deep clean throughout and some areas are in need of a refresh/refurbishment. ||The best member of staff by a mile was Kirk, in the reception area. Some others were ok, they would maybe say good morning/afternoon back to you, in a 4 or 5 star hotel I've usually found staff see that part of their job is to be outwardly friendly even if they don't feel like it, and I'd say not even saying a hello falls short. We were an inconvenience. There were some younger staff who were a little shy but definitely have potential with more experience be great and I hope they get some mentoring to help them along the way. ||The best food was the soups, they tasted fresh and had flavour. ||The beach and the higher pool were nice. Lots of wasps around the pool attracted by the lounger tables not being cleaned but I took some wet wipes and did a few myself and it improved a bit. Love the loungers in the pool as being so hot it was nice to take a book to sit in the water. ||The drinks were ok, you have to go to the coffee shop to get your espresso if you want to order an espresso martini, I like to be super lazy when I'm away so this put me off! But plenty of other cocktails and options.

Wonderful experience at this resort. Food, staff and service was top notch. Buffet was always plentiful and varied. Top shelf alcohol. All the restaurants we tried were delicious. Older resort so some areas are a bit dated but they are currently updating. Not a huge beach but Beautiful and more private feeling. Loads of lounge chairs and spots with varying levels of sun. Rooms were so clean, fridge stocked. Lush garden to explore in the front. We will definitely be back.

Our trip was planned for a few weeks after Hurricane Melissa, so we weren’t sure what to expect. We were so happy we didn’t cancel, because it met and even exceeded our expectations. The beach was beyond perfect. Beautiful soft sand, warm water with gentle waves, and cool fish everywhere if you bring goggles and take a moment to look. Breathtaking photo ops everywhere. We loved the water activities like snorkeling and kayaking (included). The food was overall great. The largest space, and the one that is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, is the Patio Restaurant, which is a buffet. The food is fresh and good and varies day to day. There are four smaller restaurants as well as a coffee shop and the “Veggie Bar” (juice, smoothies, and healthy bites). As vegans, we were a bit worried about getting our money’s worth and having fun options, but we were assured that we would be accommodated. Everyone from the front desk to the management/chefs assured us that if the offerings didn’t meet our needs, they would make something custom for us. At first, it was nice to get special attention, but it became a little frustrating to repeatedly explain to different staff (hosts, servers, chefs) what we needed. There was definitely some confusion about the distinction between veganism and vegetarianism. The staff were so kind and went out of their way for us, but we ultimately felt like a burden. We would have preferred if their menus/buffet signs just had a few vegan options that were clearly labeled, the way they did for gluten-free items. We were constantly wondering whether many items such as cornmeal porridge, callaloo rice, ital stew, and baked potatoes were vegan or not. We were most excited about the Veggie Bar, since we love health food, but we were disappointed that the options were sparse - basically limited to hummus, carrots/beets, and one kind of juice per day. We ended up having most of our meals at the buffet, and in the end, we did not go hungry (far from it). We especially loved the food at the theme nights (every Wednesday and Saturday). And the coffee deserves a special mention - Blue Mountain coffee served in abundance from morning to night. Now, the hospitality. Their catch phrase is “Welcome Home,” and we truly felt like we were treated like family. Very special and will keep us coming back.

We have stayed here several times over the years, we have a lot of ❤️ for CTI. It has such a lovely vibe. ||||Staff are hard working, doing a fantastic job, being warm and welcoming, polite, friendly and helpful, giving great service with a smile. Really good choice of restaurants serving a good variety of delicious food. Our favourites were Eight Rivers and Bayside. We received excellent house keeping.||The updated Patio bar is a great improvement, lots of bar stools, great view's to relax with delicious cocktails, and all the overhead fans are now working, which is great 👍||||Shame a few things were disappointing. Dirty plates and cups were being left outside all night and the next day by jacuzzi. The small sun bed tables aren't being cleaned regularly, most days they still had last nights sticky drink spills. They don't seem to be on top of things like they used to be.||Bars ran out of stuff, rum cream and Baileys were out for several nights. ||Part of the beach looks pretty sad with rubble and rocks, the sand has washed away from the steps leaving a big drop and its not that easy to get down from the steps to the beach anymore. Water fountain on 4th floor block 4 is still not working.||||We enjoyed our stay and had a great time. Weather was good, hot and sunny mornings, just a few afternoon showers, well we were in hurricane season.||We met some lovely people, made friends and we will definitely return. Hopefully it will be back on top form by then 🙏 🤞

Amazing resort! First time staying here. Awesome views, and great staff. Food was fantastic and so was the entertainment in the piano bar. Unfortunately never made it down to the lounge. Once again can't say enough about the staff, so friendly and accommodating. I can see why people return over and over again! Will definitely be going back!

We stayed at this resort for 7 days at the end of January 2025. The rooms were basic but clean, the beds comfy and the AC worked great. This may be a small resort but the views are gorgeous. The staff was great. This was the 9th time I had been to Jamaica, and this resort had the best food! We also signed up for the Couples Rewards and were able to spend a day at the sister resort down the street, Couples San Souci. That was a great perc as it changed it up a little and made us want to try out the other resort too at another time.

Couples Tower Isle is the perfect resort for mature couples and groups seeking a serene, less-hectic pace and genuinely friendly service. My wife and I had a truly relaxing experience. The resort shines in its amenities. The gym is one of the best-equipped I've seen on the island—a major plus for fitness enthusiasts. Dining was abundant and delicious, with flexible options: breakfast starts at 7:30 AM; lunch runs from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM; and a convenient grill operates from 2:00 PM until 10:00 PM. A delightful, all-day ice cream station is also located right next to the grill! Service is excellent. Staff are friendly and attentive, always willing to help, which contributed greatly to the relaxed atmosphere. Our room was well-appointed and maintained with twice-daily housekeeping. We appreciated the fully stocked refrigerator, replenished daily with beer, sodas, and various juices, and the convenience of room service. While the pace is relaxed, there is plenty to do. Guests can enjoy a wide array of beach activities and nightly entertainment. We met numerous repeat visitors, some on their third trip, and we understand why they keep coming back. If you're looking for an intimate, small-resort getaway where you won't feel lost in the crowd, this is the place. Highly recommended
