We stayed at Courtyard Amelia Island and overall liked it slightly more than expected, mainly thanks to the pool. The kids absolutely loved it, which is clearly the strong point of this hotel. However, the rooms are too dated and poorly maintained. Our first room had a strong smell of humidity and mold, to the point that we had to ask to change rooms, which is never a pleasant way to start a stay. Another downside was breakfast: the area was far too crowded, with not enough seating for the number of guests. It felt chaotic and uncomfortable, especially with children. In summary, the pool makes this hotel appealing for kids, but the condition of the rooms and overall maintenance really need improvement. With better upkeep and organization, it could be a much nicer family-friendly option.

This was our third visit to the Courtyard at Fernandina Beach and we will not be returning. Past experiences were excellent, but this visit was not up to previous standards. I should have known what to expect when registering and the staff didn't break a smile. Not a pleasant welcoming when we were told that breakfast was unavailable to us. In past years we were able to purchase breakfast in the adjoining hotel. We were asked which day we'd like housekeeping-Only one day of three was allowed.|The swimming pool was too cold for me to swim, although some others did go swimming. There was no comlimentary coffee or tea available in the lobby for guests. One had to (pay) use the Starbucks cafe in the hotel. Upon leaving we told our credit card was being used to pay for parking. We were unaware that we'd be charged $15 daily to park and were charged for each day we stayed plus the day we checked out at 9 am.|On a positive note, the hotel is situated across the street from a state park and within walking distance of a number of good restaurants and close enough to the beach to walk over. The room & bathroom were clean and the beds were good.

The pool and hot tub are great. Location was excellent. The rooms were dirty. We had perishable snacks we could not refrigerate because of mold in the fridge. As we were gathering our items to leave, we noticed pistachio shells under one bed and an actual partially eaten sandwich under the other. So overall that was awful as we suspected during our stay the fridge was the only clean issue.

I typically refrain from leaving reviews for hotels of this caliber, but I felt it was necessary to express my experience during my recent stay. Firstly, I want to note that breakfast is not included with the stay, which was unexpected for a hotel in this price range. Unfortunately, the service left much to be desired; any requests made were met with resistance from the front desk staff, making for an uncomfortable experience. I also noticed several cleanliness issues, including used dental floss and similar items in the hallways, as well as bloody napkins. This raised serious concerns about the overall hygiene of the facility. Additionally, the bar and restaurant had a limited selection, with staff citing it as an off-peak season and not having ordered a broader menu. Parking fees were another surprise, charging $15 per night per vehicle, which adds significantly to the overall cost of the stay. The towels provided were worn and rough, lacking the quality one would expect from a hotel at this rate. There were also visible signs of neglect throughout the property, such as dirty and peeling walls, both inside the rooms and in common areas. Water pressure in the bathroom was also disappointing. For a hotel priced at $150-$200 per night, I expected a much higher standard. Based on my experience, I would recommend exploring alternative accommodations.

We were in town for the Amelia Island Half Marathon and had a perfect stay. Rooms were nice and clean. Loved the updated stand up shower. Bed was super comfortable. Location was in perfect proximity to the start/finish line, literally a 3 min walk, if even that. Actually enjoyed my stay at the hotel more than the race.

I am writing to express my sincere appreciation for the outstanding customer service I consistently receive at your hotel, particularly from Janene.||As a frequent guest, both for business and leisure with my husband, I have stayed at your hotel on several occasions. Janene's exceptional service has consistently stood out. Her welcoming smile and attentiveness in answering questions are truly remarkable and have significantly contributed to my positive experiences.||In fact, Janene's dedication to providing excellent customer service is a primary reason why I choose to return to your hotel whenever I am in the area. She is a valuable asset to your team, and I wanted to ensure her efforts are recognized.||Thank you for employing such dedicated and customer-focused individuals like Janene.||The rooms are modern, clean, comfortable beds and walk-in shower. Excellent location to walk the beach or visit the State Park across the street. If you enjoy walking, stroll down the road to town.

We stayed here traveling through to Tampa for a cruise in November of 2025. This place is conveniently located right next door to the beach and some restaurants. It has a beautiful pool and hot tub, but were told the pool heater was broken and it was too cold to get in. Kids were piled in the hot tub all night. They had some outdoor games we played. They gave us a balcony room that was overlooking the pool and you could see the ocean, very nice. ||It was clean and quiet. Starbucks in the lobby. No free breakfast. I think I paid for parking, even though they didn’t mention that when I checked in. They also didn’t give us our pool passes which made it confusing as to if we had to pay for the pool or not, so we had to go back and ask.||My kid pointed out that there was no way to open the refrigerator in the room because the door got stuck on the cabinet door that was apparently put in after the refrigerator. Other than that, we will stay again in June 2026.

Spent 7 nights here on vacation. Great room overlooking the pool with beach views. Earnie, Ben, Ashley, Tyler, and other employees were friendly and helpful with dining recommendations. Will definitely return!

Yelp
Nice newer hotel just a few hundred yards from the beach. Room was clean and well appointed. Public areas are clean. We had a problem with the water pressure in our room. I called the front desk and the engineer arrived and fixed the problem within minutes. Great response. Thanks! The bar hours seem limited. We'll come back.

Yelp
Stayed here for a wedding. The manager was rude at check-in making fun of our names. They also don't clean rooms even when requested. Ubers were difficult to obtain, and the manager kept pushing calling her friend. Marriott made it right with points, but there are better places to stay. Highlight was the gym and pool! Bartender outside was lovely and pool had a great vibe.

Yelp
Great Property! Very new and modern, but fits the beach vibe - from the outdoors, to the lobby, bar and lounge to the pool area. Steps away from the beach including a wonderful beachside park. Lots of dining options surrounding property. Great hotel.

Yelp
I booked a five night stay for approx $1800 dollars, specifying an ocean view room. When I checked in, the front desk manager said with a smile, "You have a really good room!" When we walked into the room, the "ocean view" was blocked by 2 hotels, and actual view was a decrepit, empty parking lot, and angas station. The Marriott would not even acknowledge this, and insisted that "you clicked it, and you got what you ordered. Needless to say, we didn't stay there and after 2 hours on the phone with Expedia/Hotels.com we got a full refund. When I asked the front desk manager and the general manager for a check out statement, they said that I was "harassing" them and they threatened toncall the police. In all of my 70 years, I have never been so poorly treated by a hotel staff. Perhaps the once-great Marriott chain is in a state of decline. Sad.

Yelp
Had a wonderful long weekend here. Dennis was so helpful at check in, even gave some recommendations for fun island spots! Not only was the pool tons of fun, we could watch the waves break in the water from literally our pillows. Yes you read that right. From the comfort of your pillow, beach views. We even watched a storm roll through one night, and it made for hours of lightening watching. Absolutely gorgeous. And both guys bartenders by the pool were amazing!!! Including the girl bartender in the lobby area. 10/10 recommend here

Yelp
Stayed here to attend Shrimp Festival. We did not take advantage of everything the hotel had to offer. However, the room was nice and spacious, there was ample parking, the noise level from the pool died down at a reasonable hour, and the common areas were clean. This hotel is connected to a Fairfield. All guests can use the common areas. They had a guy playing guitar an singing at the pool which was a nice touch. I'd stay here again.

Yelp
Clean establishment. Good drinks. Bar staff are rude. Food is sub par. $18 burger. Someone tell me why it's frozen & why it has nothing on it.

Yelp
I typically love Marriott hotels and this being a new one, I knew it would look good, which it does. I think they are severely understaffed...a sign of the times. The pool is awesome and the outside bar is sweet, but only staffed by the bearded dude who is absolutely slammed all day and night! Coffee bar could not be any slower. Obviously their kitchen staff is understaffed as well. We waited 45 mins for two hot teas and two desserts. I felt bad for the barista. The room is beautiful...I love the decor, however, the luxurious showers are majorly dysfunctional. One shower floods the entire bathroom and they are "aware of the issue". We reported it twice and had to get a bunch of towels to clean up the flood! The design needs to be modified ASAP, before they start having mold issues. There is no cleaning service during your stay and you have to put your dirty towels in the hall , then go downstairs to get more. I guess this is the sign of the times. A lot of self service. Hopefully, people will start going back to work once the pandemic unemployment funds stop. This place has great potential and is quite beautiful but they need staff to keep it that way. Walls and floors are super thin. Starting at 8:00 am, it sounds like a bowling alley above is and a constant dripping from the shower issues above us. If you expect to sleep in, good luck. I hope they resolve all of their opening issues because I'd love to come back here if they can iron out these issues.

Yelp
My wife and I just got home from Celebrating NYE 2024 and my old College buddy's 58th Bday. The moment we arrived we fell in love with the 1400 acre gorgeous property... The hotel staff, Valet, bellman and front desk staff were all 5 star friendly and professional... We loved our 5th floor clean room, SPECTACULAR VIEW, bed, pillows, awesome shower and balcony. They just need more cell phone charging stations.. The NYE celebration was over the top and we are from Las Vegas. The drinks and food at Sea Glass were excellent we loved the DJ and NYE fireworks. Overall an EPIC NYE celebration and we will be back next year.. My wife and I really hate the 3 star haters of this property!! Ofcourse drinks and food will be pricey this resort is a very expensive property located on a drop dead gorgeous beach! If you are a Yelper and can't afford a nice weekend at this property trash your checking account not the resort. See ya Next year Omni WE LOVE YA!!!

Yelp
This brand new hotel is still trying to get organized. They may have opened a little earlier than they should have. We had issues with doors not opening in stairwells, hotel phone not able to call front desk, very thin walls, no notepads or pens in the rooms, tissue and toilet paper in the room was half empty Bar staff at the pool (bearded gentleman) was extremely disorganized and somewhat unfriendly. Colette was great and I recommend her assistance. As a Marriott Gold elite member, this is not what expect from a Bonvoy property.

Yelp
Brand new hotel. The beds were comfortable. The food was good and the pool and spa area were wonderful. They are only cleaning by request during your stay, but we found that not to be a problem. This hotel was close to the beach and right across from the entrance to Fort Clinch Park. We will stay here again!

Joe P.

Yelp
Rude and unprofessional staff. They do not respond to call to guest services. Don't stay here. Marriott should be ashamed.

Yelp
Best place to stay on island. Fantastic location. Great service. A little understaffed but super friendly and caring. A very short walk to the beach. Starbucks available for a quick breakfast and lunch. New hotel so overall wonderful ...some small issues with the room. (Floor wasn't clean and the shower drain was clogged) overall no better place to stay on island for the value. Comfy beds and nice pool. Attached to Marriott Springhill.

Yelp
We have stayed at nearby hotels in the area and this by far had the best service! Our whole family loved Johnny & Colette at the pool bar. Everyone was super sweet and made our daughters birthday special :) we will definitely stay again and highly recommend!
