Sink does not drain. Not repaired although I have reported at reception. Rooms are made every 2 days not every day. Hotel should offer the option of room cleaning every day. Balcony very dirty, maybe it has never been cleaned since the construction of the building. AC too strong in common areas but this is US. It is not considered that keeping temperature too low is bad for the planet and for the human health

We stayed 2 nights! Loved the down pillows! The employees were all awesome and so helpful! Lakesha at the front desk is a shining star! We loved her! She made us feel comfortable, welcome and pampered!

Google
Hotel was great. Cleanliness is obviously important here. Nice courtyard to chill in as well as a spacious lobby. Food prices were extremely high even for a hotel, but otherwise a great place to stay.

I would like to think the late night Desk Team for being so accommodating last night as I needed a room last minute and had to drive a bit of a way to find a hotel. They were very personable and helpful. Nice work!

My family had the worst customer service experience with this Marriott. For the first time in 50+ Marriotts, the general manager (Len Goodman) wouldn't let us benefit from the employee benefits due to being unable to print out the form (we couldn't connect to the printer, and offered no help) that we always send by email. We unfortunately had to cancel as Len Goodman didn't want to help us further.

Positive: The front staff was so nice. A lady with the heart of gold. The room was clean and had spacious. Negative: ""

Staff is very friendly and kind. No breakfast, serve Starbucks coffee. Beds are good, firm. Pillows- need more firm pillows available. Feather are just too soft. Laundry room 1 washer and dryer. Not the best WiFi. Very weak signal and not enough bandwidth. Hard to work using teams chat. Bar is nice, food is good.

Google
The place is okay. I would probably say 2/5, but I am rounding up because there are not any nice hotels in the area, so we have to work with what we are given.||It's a bed and a shower, so it has all you need, but it won't wow you. There are a few things about the hotel that make it feel like it was originally converted from a lower tier, like a residence inn. The property just feels old and in need of a refresh. One of the biggest problems is outside of the hotels control...it is just the location. Hunt Valley has almost no food options, and if you arrive late (midnight) there is literally nothing open, not even Pizza or fast food. This area is in drastic need of a 4 star hotel with a proper bar and 24/7 room service. I also found the staff to be short with me. The night clerk who checked me in was very nice, but the person who I was chatting with in the app before arrival was not helpful, and the checkout person was also not very helpful. I don't like coming to Hunt Valley, but next time I will probably just stay in Baltimore and Uber to my meetings in Hunt Valley.

Yelp
A place to close your eyes at night. I first visited this hotel appx 13 years ago and back then it was badly in need of renovations. That said I was pleased to see a newer lobby, modernized.

Yelp
One night stay. It is the typical courtyard design, this must be a standard layout. Hotel certainly is not new, but it kept up very nice and it certainly looks probably much newer than it actually is. I found my room very clean and comfortable. The gym is larger than the usual hotel gym that had several benches options for cardio. Area is nice for walking and there's a lot of evening restaurant options available. They do have a little restaurant operation in their lobby . I had breakfast. 4 eggs and a side of sausage, with coffee, $21.20 . Sort of expensive, but it was hot and fresh.

Yelp
I frequent the Courtyard due to work travel. I recently had the pleasure of staying here which has undergone an extensive renovation, and I must say, the transformation is nothing short of impressive. The lobby, with its chic and contemporary design. The use of colors, stylish furniture, and eye-catching artwork created an inviting atmosphere. The common areas seamlessly blended comfort, making it a perfect spot to relax and socialize at the bar. The rooms are comfortable, bathrooms clean, and amenities were accessible. I always have the pleasure of speaking to Nick, and they are always so attentive and polite. While I have the option to stay anywhere in the Hunt Valley area, Courtyard is always my first pick!

Yelp
This is where I usually stay when working in the area. Lately its just gone downhill. I would rather stay further away then to have to deal with hassel. Asked for no housekeeping. Put a "do not disturb" sign up. This was ignored. Sent messages via their chat. Ignored There are other options in Hunt Valley. Exercise those options.

Yelp
Check was quick and easy. Our room was very nice. Bedding was comfortable. The television was nice mainly because it would tell you what channel it was on and the show. The room was nice and clean and comfortable. Good value for the money.

Yelp
Marriott has a good reputation, so we booked with them for a family event. The lobby restaurant and coffee bar was amazing. The rest of the hotel was meh. It was musty and a dirty in the hallways. The rooms were ok, comfortable and smelling like bleach (which is actually comforting). There was an issue with the air conditioner- but it got corrected pretty quickly. The staff was pleasant as noted in other reviews. it wasn't spectacular, but I didn't get bed bugs....so....3 stars!

Yelp
Living in the South years ago, I was able to learn how to give effective insults that seemed more like concern mixed with pity. For example: "Oh dear, your baby is uglier than Satan's sphincter, bless his heart". See, all you have to do is add "bless his heart" or "that poor thing" after your insult and then it doesn't sound so much like one. So about the Marriott Courtyard I say "I've found dead hookers in places that didn't smell this bad, bless its heart". I just have to say this place is kind of dumpy and my room smelled very bad, but I realized the whole place sort of had a funk to it. The list of problems beside the smell isn't too bad: the bed was very uncomfortable, there was a really gross stain on the couch cushion, garbage hadn't been emptied in my room before I checked in and there were no toiletries. In the gym only one treadmill worked and it was so old I pictured a dinosaur running on it. On the plus side, the workers there were lovely. Very friendly and helpful. Also, the hotel is undergoing much needed renovations and they do a good job of communicating that with guests, so major kudos for that. I'm rounding this up to a three because the staff was so great but truth be told, this place is very skeevy, the poor thing.

Yelp
Standard Courtyard for the most part. The front desk representative(Kk) was extremely pleasant when I checked in around 9:00PM. I grabbed a quick drink from the convenient bistro in the lobby and then was off to my room for my one night stay. The hallways smelled like marijuana. Didn't love that. But my room was fine, thankfully. I LOVED that the shower had pump bottles instead of the small, standard hotel ones.

Yelp
Do not stay here!! I have had to stay at this hotel for work and two times in three weeks has the fire alarm gone off at 1 am. It took the staff and the fire department way to long to turn it off. This hotel is beat down and the staff is clueless on how to run it. I will never stay here again, EVER!!!!!!

Yelp
I've stayed here on a regular basis over the last 10 years. Yes, the rooms are very dated. Yes, the fitness center is not the best..... but there are some advantages, first the staff is friendly as well as helpful, there are plenty of restaurants close by, the lobby is remolded and the food is actually pretty good. Finally like most Marriott Courtyards the place needs a complete make over, hopefully it happens... at some point.

Yelp
Ryan and I stayed in the hotel after my parents came to visit. We live 1/4 mi. from the hotel but wanted my parents to enjoy the unbeatable luxuries of our apartment community at Avalon Hunt Valley. This hotel is definitely dated and you know what...that's ok. Our room was clean, dated but clean. Our bed was very comfortable, slightly dated but clean and comfortable. Our experience included the obvious and I could go on and on but what made this experience was connecting with other people. More specifically, the staff made this experience 5-star. We were treated so well (not expecting rose petals on the floor) as they genuinely wanted to get to know us and they let us get to know them. Thank you, Ms. Lisa at the Front Desk and Ms. Kim at the Bistro. I'm happy to know you both now and THANK YOU for making our stay a memorable one.

Yelp
Summary: Bugs, dirty, useless staff, old building -- ie. never again. From check-in to check-out this place was a nightmare. The room was dirty with items from the previous guests still on the floor. The shower barely worked. The toilet seat was broken. The room was small because the hotel is an old building that was (poorly) remodeled. I have to agree with Bill T. who said: "I've found dead hookers in places that didn't smell this bad, bless its heart". Out of desperation we stayed the night before moving in with family. When attempting to use the guest laundry services, I found stink bugs and water bugs, both dead and alive, everywhere. Same at the ice machine ... on every floor! The next morning we found ants in our room. When trying to bring these issues to the attention of the front desk, I was ignored for 20 minutes (around 10pm) by an employee who would rather talk with his friends on his cell phone than service customers. He looked right at me and then walked into the back office to continue his conversation. His response was that this was "normal". When we checked out many, many nights early and explained to them why, we received an "Oh, ok." What a hell hole. Also, check out the "Hunt Valley Courtyard" listing with the Cockeysville address for the reviews this hotel doesn't want you to read.

Yelp
I booked a reservation on August 6th 2019 for checkin on Saturday August 10th to check out on Sunday August 11th for me to stay while attending the Moonrise Music Festival. On Saturday while at the festival I received multiple calls which they explained to me there were no more rooms available at Hunts Valley and that they had reserved me another room at their partner hotel Springhill Suites By Marriott in Middle River 25 min away from them. I had booked hunts valley with the hopes of staying at the same hotel as my friends but this was ok because we really just needed a place to sleep. After the festival on Saturday night we went with our friends to Hunts Valley still with hopes that maybe there was a more expensive room but once we got there they told us there was no rooms available but assured us that we were booked and ready to go in Middle river. After leaving our friends at this hotel we drove 25 minutes just to be told there was no reservation at middle river and that they were fully booked. We tried multiple hotels and all of them were fully booked so in the end we Had to drive over an hour home at 2 am in the morning. Don't trust that they reserved you another room even if they allowed you to book a room there on their mistake. We tried to check in before the festival but they wouldn't allow us I guess because of them being at capacity but in the end this was their fault and they really did nothing to solve the issue or compensate us for their mistake besides a soda. Beware booking with Marriott I know I will be spending my money elsewhere.

Yelp
I'm a Marriott Gold Elite member because I travel on business and prefer to stay at Marriott hotels. There are nicer Marriott hotels in the area, including a Residence Inn that just opened up a few years ago. However, our corporate travel policy restricts us to a certain price point to which only this Marriott location satisfies. The only thing nice about this place is the lobby. They don't offer complimentary breakfast. The rest of the building (i.e., the rooms, the elevators, etc.) is pretty outdated compared to other places. Even the Hunt Valley Inn (a Wyndham hotel), located across the street, has recently undergone a massive renovation. I recently stayed there against my will because the 2 previous times were very UNPLEASANT because of the filthy, bug-infested accommodations. Plus, our company has a corporate rate. I was pleasantly surprised because of the upgrades they've done...the place even smelled new. But this review is about the Marriott Courtyard. OK, I get it. It's a Courtyard. But I've stayed in nicer Courtyards...much nicer. PRICE: You get what you paid for, I suppose. For less than $150, you get a room with 2 queen beds. Nothing fancy...nothing special. FRONT DESK STAFF: Friendly as they come. I've been coming to this dump periodically for 2 years and the crew has been very friendly 100% of the time. Seriously, I've stayed at the Embassy Suites (next door, which includes a complimentary breakfast) and the Hunt Valley Inn (across the street) - but the staff was just OK. As outdated as this hovel may be, I'll likely keep coming back because the price is right...the beds are clean [for the most part]...and I need to keep my Elite status.

Yelp
Hotel staff is friendly like in previous reviews but seriously Marriott WTH! Room was somewhat clean but had a horrible smell to it. The toilet did not flush, my tv remote did not work and there was no hot water in my shower. I let the front desk know that my toilet did not work and it took them two attempts to fix it. Finally they switched me rooms and still no hot water. I am fairly pissed at the fact that I switched from Hilton to Marriott to have a broken toilet, no hot water and a smelly room. Needless to say I will be going back to Hilton. Their hotels Are far more updated and cleaner. Do not let the close by restaurants and shopping complexes reel you into staying here. Find somewhere else to stay! That's all I have to say!

Yelp
The courtyard marriott was able to accommodate my 10am check-in. Upon arrival, my keys to my room were ready. Hotel is clean and close to stores and restaurants. Great location and close to work. We'll definitely stay there again.

Yelp
STAY AWAY!! The hallway marijuana from the room across the hall, and got into my room. I requested to be moved to a room, where the smell of weed would not be present, the hotel instead did nothing. Also, as I was leaving, one of my bags got stolen in hallway. I immediately notified hotel staff of bags location, when stolen. Due to the hotel being so ill-prepared, they had no cameras in the hallway. The hotel said there was nothing they could do, even though I mentioned the theft must have occurred in the last 5 to 10 minutes prior. The Hotel made no effort to retrieve item or reimburse me. I had to call for 1 week straight to finally speak to manager. I finally spoke to manager, he was well aware of the situation , but yet, he said he was "to busy to call me back". After speaking to him, he told me he would look into the situation. However, I am still waiting for a call back, it is over 2 weeks later from when the event occurred. I HIGHLY ADVISE TO EVERYONE, TO STAY ELSEWHERE!!

Yelp
Definitely one of the older Marriott properties that I have stayed at in a long time. Not dirty or anything, just dated and in need of a major face-lift. I'm a Marriott elite member, and have stayed at their hotels all over the world, and this is one of the older styles. Helpful front desk staff, but seemed very empty for a wed night.
google avatar

Shelly A.

Yelp
Very helpful staff - very friendly and make you feel at home! :) The internet is a little quirky because you have to resign up for it every day. Other then that the place is fine, a bit dated compared to other courtyards but its a small Maryland town, so I really wasn't expecting much.

Yelp
I stayed here while in town for work, and although it's in a decent area, the hotel was very mediocre. The lobby looks nice, but everything else is just okay. I will definitely ask to be placed at a different hotel on my next visit in town.

James H.

Yelp
Our first room had a musty smell and had stained carpets. We asked for a new room (they were very apologetic) and it was much cleaner. Staff couldn't have been friendlier. Rooms are VERY dated. Average hotel, decent price.

Rainbow C.

Yelp
The front desk people were polite and friendly. The location of the hotel was convenient for what I was in town for. However, housekeeping is an issue. I had takeout in the room on Friday night. I had put the containers and the little bit of leftovers in the trash. On Saturday, I went out for a few hours. When I came back, I found the food I put in the trash taken back out and left on the desk. How disgusting. I did complain to the front desk on why would housekeeping take food out of the trash and leave it in the room.

Yelp
We stayed at the Marriott Courtyard while attending a nearby convention. It is located just off I-83 and within walking distance of a nearby mall (kind of, the sidewalk does not pick up until you are closer to the mall.) I was first impressed at check-in by the front desk personnel who recognized me from my phone reservation and also accommodated a change to my room request by performing a complicated piece of bistromath with her compatriot. We were struck by the many seating options in the lobby, both in the main dining area for the café but mainly in an area seemingly designed to merely hang out. I really wanted to grab a magazine or book off the complimentary rack and sit down there. I was impressed that the stairs were wide open and accessible at both ends of the hallway so you can head up with luggage if you wish. The room is basic, but modern. Honestly, it is refreshing to be in a hotel bathroom that has a door that does not hit anything on its way to the wall. There are also small balconies with chairs that look out onto the stunning courtyard. The center of the yard has several couches facing each other, making a perfect conversation pit. We could see the pool from our room, but we did not try it. I understand there is a bar on site with limited hours, but I would have loved to grab a glass of wine and sit in the middle of that courtyard for hours. I have to commend the blackout curtain they have as it did an incredible job of keeping the room dark until we rolled out of bed after ten. The deli in the lobby has a pleasant seating area, interesting and tasty food selection, and personal televisions in the booths. There is not much to do around the hotel itself, it is designed for relaxing. A lack of entertainment amenities would normally rank four out of five for me. I once called housekeeping for extra towels. A man I had passed in the hall a few minutes before was at my door thirty seconds after my call with a stack of towels. Extra star. If you stay at the Courtyard, find a way to enjoy the courtyard.

Janice C.

Yelp
Dated, no mirrors except in sink area, bathtub dirty looking, walls seem to be paper thin. There should be a television channel guide. We were part of a wedding party and the breakfast served in Room B left a lot to be desired - had to ask for bowls for oatmeal, no hot water for tea - oh, yeah, no teabags. Water pressure in the shower was great! Reception staff was mostly friendly.
