Courtyard Charleston Historic District

I stay in Marriott’s every time I travel, and this was the first time I’ve ever been disappointed in one of their hotels. Marriott is known for being a consistently decent hotel, nothing fancy, but reliably good. This hotel needs some upgrades, the amenities aren’t as nice as they usually are. The bed was very hard, the AC was so old it kept us up with how loud it was, the service was just ok. If you’re gonna stay downtown, stay at the waterfront Marriott instead. We stayed there last year, it is much nicer.

Overall we had a good stay. We weren't there long enough to really get a better idea of the entire hotel. I will say parking is cheaper and more efficient a block over at the public parking garage. $25 compared to $40. You get a nice stroll past the park too! The pillows were super flat and lumpy, but we had a great view from our room.

I had a great stay at the Courtyard Marriott in downtown Charleston. The location was perfect, close to King Street and the historic district. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Christian from valet was especially fantastic—super quick and attentive. Parking was a bit pricey, but overall, it was a great experience.

This hotel was perfect for our 5-night stay in Charleston! We were able to walk to most everything! King street is just 2 blocks away!! City is very walkable and safe!! Everyone is walking everywhere! There is a park across the street which is great for walking through as you head to where all the action is! This hotel has guaranteed adjoining rooms, very clean rooms, daily cleaning service, a cafe that serves breakfast and dinner and the food is good (you must have the breakfast bistro sandwich)! There is a daily valet charge, but that’s how the parking works in Charleston!! There is an app for requesting your car when you need it and it is ready for you! The hotel has a front porch with lots of rocking chairs! Perfect for people watching or just relaxing in the evenings! Overall, great experience!! Will stay here again!!!

I had a wonderful stay at the Courtyard Charleston. Upon our arrival, our room wasn't quite ready, but the valet who welcomed us was fantastic; Jamahi willingly offered to keep our luggage safe until we could check-in. Jamahi was cheerful and courteous, assisting us with the luggage cart and helping us unload. My husband had accidentally left his jacket in the car, and Jamahi promptly brought our vehicle back so he could retrieve it. Our room was tidy, and the staff at the Courtyard were friendly and very accommodating. We will certainly come back.

For the price, I expected better. There was so little provided; not even free coffee in the lobby. Parking was extremely expensive, breakfast was expensive. No indoor pool, no hot tub - not so much as a bathtub! The rooms were fine but the windows were filthy. Finally, we were told that due to a parade we had to move the car out early to avoid getting stuck there and weren't offered free parking or any sort of voucher. I was not impressed and will not stay here again.

Great location and super friendly staff!! We drove to Charleston Friday with friends for a wedding, and there was so many things to do within walking distance of the hotel. The reception was at the Dewberry rooftop, which has the most gorgeous views of the city, and only a block away from the Marriott. Upon arrival, Adam parked our car and helped us with our bags-we had a lot! Tiffany at the front desk was super nice and incredibly accommodating. She got us into our room quickly because we were running a little late for the ceremony. When we visit Charleston next, we would love to stay here again!

From the moment we parked, Aristotle (valet parking) took immediate care of us. Took our luggage and made sure it got to our room. Tiffany and her partner at the front desk were outstanding. I needed a bandaid and got one asap. All of our questions were answered. The room is beautiful. Everything is very clean.
