Houston Restaurant Openings to Know Right Now, April 2025 | Eater Houston

"A dim sum-focused spot located in a hotel that serves both classic and inventive dumpling and roll offerings—siu mai, har gow, char siu, and crispy shrimp cheung fun—paired with a curated tea program sourcing green, white, oolong, and black teas from northern Thailand; the beverage list also includes Asian-diasporic cocktails such as sake lychee martinis, lemongrass lemon drops, berry tea mimosas, and a green tea–rosemary Old Fashioned." - Brittany Britto Garley

Please do not book a reservation here. The front desk manager ,AGM, and the GM needs to replaced. The management does not take an effort on informing all billing platforms that the hotel is under construction. The rooms are in so much need of repair. They can not keep a good qualified front desk employee. This hotel has been hiring for Night Audit for months. I also notice that the replies on the Google reviewed are simply copy and paste.

I had the opportunity of staying at this location. This is a great secure quiet location that is a hidden gem. I love the renovation of the Bistro that is like no other courtyard. Diamond served my husband and I she is very friendly and her drinks were amazing she is a great investment to the hotel. I will be back

Google
The lobby area smells like a dead rodent or owl pellet. The hot tub was not working. The parking is very limited. The king bed was small and the bed itself was very hard. The price you pay for a night here is way overpriced I’ve paid less at way more luxurious hotels so I can only guess that you’re paying for the location not the actual quality of the hotel. The staff was very lovely that’s the only thing I enjoyed about my 2 night stay. I suggest you get a room anywhere else but here if possible for anyone looking.

Google
I stopped in on my lunch break; first time sitting at the bar and I'm glad I did! The aesthetics were nice, food was great but the bartender, Diamond was awesome! She was super friendly and organically funny! And she makes a mean rita! I may have to put this on my list of lunch spots.

I had a great time the bartender name Diamond was excellent and friendly her drinks were great. Her service was also great. I enjoyed myself. Thank you Diamond for your delicious drinks I really enjoyed them

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! I reserved a room with 2 beds. They gave it away without my knowledge or authorization forcing me to pay for a 2nd room when I arrived. I am disputing this with Marriott and my credit card company-management is giving false statements regarding my dispute. Fire alarm went off at 3:00AM forcing an evacuation. TERRIBLE HOTEL!! MANAGEMENT DISHONEST!

Google
This is my favorite hotel in Houston. The location is convenient, the rooms are clean, and the staff is friendly. The gym is so-so, which is fine with me. The smell of the new Asian restaurant overwhelms the lobby, but this seems to be improving, and there are numerous Asian customers in the restaurant, so I am interested in trying it. I like the Starbucks/bar. I find the prices reasonable. So far I only ordered coffee, but the food selection looks good. We will stay here again.

Google
The A/C was not working in the first room we had. They gave us another room, which was not much better, but we didn't have time to swap again. When we got home after our function, we got a terrible night sleep, which was the main reason we chose the location. The hallways were warm and steamy as well.

Jen C.

Yelp
Friendly and warm staff. Very clean room and comfortable beds and pillows. I'm very particular about cleanliness and this hotel definetly lived up to my standards. The hotel has ice on each floor; Starbucks coffee, a restaurant, and gym on the first floor, etc, We stayed from a Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon and found the hotel very quiet. My sister-in-law's family rented the hotel's conference room for a baby shower, which was also very clean and comfortable. Thank you!! A+++

Yelp
I stay in 10-15 courtyard properties a year while traveling for work, so this rating is based on this being the worst courtyard property I've stayed at in the US in the past 5 years. Let me start off by saying that the staff here were very nice and did whatever they could to be helpful. However, they just can't make up for the poor state of the property itself. To begin my stay, I noticed that this was the first Marriott property where, as a platinum member, I wasn't offered a bottle of water at check-in or in the room. You will find that nothing here is complimentary. I grabbed a glass of water in the lobby, and it tasted like the fruit had been soaking in warm water for two days. It was still there the next day, so I'd avoid that free water. Neither the Wi-Fi nor the phone worked during my entire stay in my room. The phone not working became a problem when my bathroom door locked itself shut, so at 4:30 am, I had to get dressed and walk to the lobby to find someone to help open it. The bar/restaurant is run by one person who is completely overwhelmed in the morning, so you can't get a coffee or breakfast here before you start your day. The gym is tiny. I was inside working out, and another person walked in. We both laughed as he had nowhere to go and just left. There was one towel on the first day and none on the second, so the gym being an amenity is an afterthought. I can't recommend enough that you find another property to stay at. Other than the nice staff, there is nothing good about this property. The location is bad, and there is no reliable internet (or phone..) The room is run-down and falling apart, and the gym is unusable. The breakfast option is inaccessible, and you will be nickel-and-dimed for everything, including water, so the cost of staying here is not cheaper than other options close by.

Residence Inn F.

Yelp
DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!! I reserved a room with 2 beds and when I arrived for check in I was told it was not available. I was forced to pay for a second room for my active duty military son who traveled 30 hours to be at his brother's wedding. After I filed a dispute with Marriott, management still refused to comp the second room. Very poor management decision and even worse customer service! Disrespectful of guests and does not honor guaranteed reservations. Use caution if staying at this hotel!

Yelp
We enjoyed our stay. Very warm feeling and comfortable. The place way updated, had nice decor and was clean. The staff was very friendly too. Can't beat that southern hospitality. I would definitely stay there again.

Yelp
The Marriott had its usual comfortable beds and immaculate cleanliness, but we had to take cold showers in the morning. The shower control gave us the choice of a small trickle of warm water or a good flow of very cold water. When I told the receptionist about the problem as we were checking out, she told us that the water control actually did work - "but there was a trick to it." She said other people had complained out it before, but "if you just turn the handle all the way around, you can get hot water. We pointed out that we are both pretty smart, and we've been turning on shower faucets all over the world, but we could not get hot water out of this one. There were no instructions for the "trick." And we hadn't been warned about the trick when we checked in. All she said was she would tell maintenance. She still thought we were to blame. So if you stay here (and really, it's very nice), ask how about the trick when you check in. Unless you like cold showers....

Yelp
I needed a quick getaway and so I ran away to Houston for a few days during the summer. And this spot was just what I needed. The AC was cold cold. The staff was lovely. The parking was plentiful. The hotel was centrally located for every where I planned to go. And the price was right. The only real complaint I had was that the pool wasn't really useable. Just by the configuration of the building and the summer heat, it was just too surface of the sun to use. Checkin and out was easy and the bed was comfortable and did I mention that the AC was great?

Yelp
This is a very average Courtyard by Marriott. Even the lobby is exactly the same layout as many other Courtyard by Marriott brands. Here are some of my observations: - The hotel was quite old as the room's furniture all had a 2000s look. - I wasn't a big fan of the shampoo, conditioner, or body wash set at all. I feel like it was very watered down and the body wash bottle didn't squirt very well. - The location of the hotel is very nice however - it is very close to Rice and a bunch of different food plazas. It is also quite close to the city center, and quite affordable too event with that fact ($130/night). Overall not a bad Courtyard, really nothing particularly special with the experience or the stay.

Yelp
I had a very pleasant experience here. The outside looks a bit dated but the interior is fairly well renovated in my opinion. Staff was helpful and kind upon check in, room was spacious and clean. Beds squeaked a bit but I feel like most hotels you run into this issue - otherwise beds were pretty comfy. Only outdated parts in the room were the bathroom and the carpet but otherwise felt nice and upgraded. Parking was cheap and convenient. They have breakfast and dinner available but I didn't get the chance to try it out. The location was convenient to rice village and university which are really nice areas and have tons of shopping and restaurants. Overall a good experience and would stay here again.

Yelp
This place is conveniently located close to Southwest Freeway/Hwy59 but remarkably quiet since it's just far enough off the busier roads. Parking fills up in the evening but still had no issues finding a spot. There is a night security guy that sits at the gate and wanders the property (shares the same gated location as the Residence Inn). This place is no frills, just a nice clean comfortable bed. No mini bottles of shampoos - they've switched to more eco friendly mounted bottles (oddly no lotion during the stay). I didn't partake in the breakfast so I cant attest to the food. But there is a bar and coffee bar downstairs that looked pretty decent. Pool is on premises - albeit don't expect to do much more than dip in. Pool does have assistance for those who have physical disabilities.

Yelp
I don't normally do reviews let alone bad reviews, but I would recommend finding a different Marriott property. This one is old and I had so many issues. 1. First room (101) smelled like a rodent died in the wall. 2. The iron had black plastic burnt to it - couldnt iron and made me late for work dinner 3. Out of complimentary water for members (small prob but adds up after the other issues) 4. Moved to 3rd floor and hallway and elevators were 85 degrees - A/C wasn't working on that floor. Rooms were OK. 5. Shower soap dispenser was out 6. Shower curtain was missing part of it 7. Wifi didn't work on 3rd floor The bright side is the staff were all nice and accomodating. I think it's an old property not being taken care of. Marriott is usually great - just not this location

Yelp
Infested with fleas. Literally. Had fleas in my room. Management did nothing to help me. Marriott was unresponsive when I called them. Worst hotel in Houston? I think I found it

David J.

Yelp
Marriott has a real problem systemically with their internet and TV. One manager said that Marriott changed providers and they are having trouble with internet speed. They dropped their premium channels for on demand and user subscriptions, which is great, except every minute or so it pauses and buffers.
google avatar

Donnie C.

Yelp
So.....the previous reviews about no frills & location are accurate. But you are close to many great restaurants in the area. Not crazy about the parking ticket placed on the dashboard to show you are a guest, but I do see parking is limited and shared by a sister hotel. Their is no glorious view unless you are looking at the pool. Starbucks is sold in the lobby, but why buy when you can almost walk down the street to get the real deal? This hotel was something else before, the layout is from a dated floor plan. But it has been renovated w/updated furniture, some of it too big for the room. But for a $117 room rate, sure I'll stay here again!

Yelp
We stayed here in two rooms the last weekend in July 2021 and the entire facility was laughably, steaming, horrifically hot. I think they were on an energy saving binge (as in trying to save $$) The lobby felt like it was 85 or more degrees When we walked in. I assumed the roomed would be cooler but NO. First the elevator felt like a sauna, the hallway on the third floor was squelching hot, and one of the rooms was hotter than hell and the AC was no help, so we changed one of the rooms. Both rooms would finally cool down to about 74 by evening. The front desk was just marginally friendly. I'd never consider staying here again. The hotel from hell.
google avatar

Elizabeth Y.

Yelp
Do not come here - for your safety and for customer service. No one picks up the phone at the front desk. I called at least few times a day during normal business hours every day and no one picks up. I walked directly downstairs to request lotion to be dropped off in my room as there was no lotion, and they dropped off conditioner instead, but what was worse was that my door was left bolted open. I was out for majority of the day and came back late in the evening shocked to find that my door to my hotel room had been left open. I had made sure that I closed my door before I left and since I saw that someone had dropped off the conditioner, I knew house staff had been there but was completely shocked they did not check that the door closed! Luckily nothing was stolen b/c I locked everything in my luggage that was valuable and hid it behind a desk b/c they do not also provide a safe in the room but I can't imagine what would have happened if I left anything valuable lying out that was easily visible. I filed a complaint downstairs but rather than apologizing it seems the lady was making excuses like the only reason that house staff would come in to my room was b/c I requested them to. Yes I know that lady I made the request since I wasn't even provided with the appropriate amenities like lotion, but it should also be the responsibility of the house staff to make sure rooms are secure by just closing the door!

Yelp
Being the avid, and very sophisticated jet-setter that I am, I believe I'm qualified to give an accurate hotel review! This hotel was fantastic! There was a discrepancy with me buying a room with free breakfast and it not showing that I had a free breakfast but Jamie up front helped me very sweetly by giving me the free breakfast without much discussion about it at all! What a great customer relations experience! The breakfast was beautiful, the room was crisp, clean, and comfortable. I do recommend 100%!

Yelp
We always stay at Marriott properties. My wife is a salesperson and is on the road all the time. We chose this location due to its proximity to an appointment we had. The room was fairly comfortable but one side of the bed had about a foot walkway between it and the wall. I had to walk sideways to get in and out of bed. I was very disappointed to see we had to pay 8 dollars for two cups of lukewarm coffee out of a large thermos at a pseudo Starbucks counter. I then used coffeemate creamers in the tiny containers since there was no fresh half and half. After our rejuvenating breakfast like experience, we decided to work out. Rarely have I been in a workout facility that was smaller than my hotel room but there's a first time for everything. It was ridiculously small. Three treadmills dominated the room and what was left was taken up by a rack of dumbbells. You had maybe 3 feet behind the treadmills to work out. So three stars for location and price. Minus two stars for just a general lack of guest concern and appreciation.

Yelp
As Marriott platinum elite members, we rarely write reviews of their hotels because most of them tend to be the same--nothing fancy or special, just getting the job done. Some are uber nice (like a Courtyard in Savannah) and some are disgusting (like a Courtyard in Topeka), but they usually tend to fall in the middle. That's how this place USED to be. This is actually a hard review for us to write since we have stayed in this Courtyard two or three times a year for the past SEVEN years. We (used to) have a fondness for it, but now we're done. This location has become a real craphole. The rate had always been around $80-$90 a night when we first started coming here, and of course rates tend to increase, but now it's over $130 a night. For what? A tiny room, a shower with no water pressure, a toilet that didn't flush (!), a thermostat that didn't work, and a freaking parking fee that they just instituted for no reason (the lot is huge). We definitely noticed this location's decline over the years, but kept making excuses for it because it was near and dear to our hearts and we loved the location. No more--we're out. One thing we want to mention though: the staff here has always been unfailingly kind and incredible. The folks have changed over the years, but everyone is always on top of their game with friendliness and professionalism. One time they mailed a phone charger back to us. Another time, they let us stay longer when one of us got with food poisoning. They've always doted on our daughter since we started bring her along with us. The staff was a big reason why we kept wanting to come back, but taking into account the currently insane prices and the ramshackle conditions: adieu, Courtyard West University.

Yelp
Before I start my review let me say that I have stayed at this hotel multiple times and the staff has been exceptional. With that being said, this is probably one of the worse Courtyard by Marriott's out there. I kept thinking that sometime over the last three years staying there that things would have gotten better or the hotel would have gotten some updates, but it just gets worse and worse. The carpets in the room we were in smelled soiled, the internet at times is problematic( I couldn't even stream on the TV). This past week we got into our room and there was shoe prints still on the bathroom floor as well as strands of hair by the sink. The AC never works properly. Proper post Covid standards other Courtyards we stay at have are absent here. They had nothing they were able to offer gold or platinum members. Lastly this isn't downtown and they charge a fee for parking. I feel this was my final time staying there. It is so convenient and in such a nice area, I am surprised Marriott allows this hotel to keep that low standard.

Joanna C.

Yelp
The location was ideal for our purposes and the staff could not have been nicer. That being said, I won't be staying here again. I chose to stay in hotels for this trip rather than AirBnbs mainly because I wanted the extra amenities: pools/jacuzzis, free breakfasts (or at least some free coffee), and someone else to do the cleaning for me. This hotel offered none of those amenities during our two-night stay. For starters. I was told the pool was open only to find a sign on the gate saying the pool area was closed until further notice. I was also told to come to the bistro in the morning for breakfast, only to find that they charge for literally everything, including coffee. At the end of our first full day there, we came back to our room only to find it exactly as we left it--beds unmade, trash can full, nothing cleaned or tidied. When I asked why at the front desk, they told me the hotel policy is to clean every other day--in other words, not at all during our stay. If I wanted that, I could have stayed in a three-bedroom AirBnb for the same price. The hotel didn't even have blankets on the bed and when I asked for some at the front desk, they said they didn't have any. I know it's warm in Houston, but some of us sleep best in cool rooms and like to have a blanket on the bed. It should at least be an option. All of these issues are of course a reflection of policy decisions and management failures rather than the people who worked there, which makes me disinclined to stay at any Marriott properties in the future.

Yelp
This is a great location and the hotel is very accommodating! I stay at different hotels around the state and I would recommend this one for anybody. No need to sugar coat anything, this place is a hidden treasure!
google avatar

Renee G.

Yelp
Very friendly staff but got bit by bed bugs . Someone is not doing their job correctly!

Sheila D.

Yelp
Do not stay here, no amenities. 1. The keys to the door do not work 2. No food or snacks available. 3. The one and only computer has the slowest internet speed since AOL in the 80s. 4. They charge a $7 a night fee to drive into the parking lot and park your car. Similar to driving into your driveway at home to park, except they charge you to do so. Absolutely, nothing here to make you want to return.

John S.

Yelp
I think this place is under new ownership and it's really gone downhill. They are way understaffed and wouldn't clean our rooms during our three night stay even though the sign said that they would on request. Also the air in our room wouldn't get below 75 degrees. We wanted to switch rooms, but they said they only clean enough rooms for the reservations they have for the night so they said they didn't have anything available even though they weren't very full. They told us we'd just need to wait for maintenance to fix it. After talking to a manager they did find us another room since the maintenance person wasn't available, but the dead bolt was broken. They then put us in another room that was ok. Felt deceived as they did have extra rooms, but wouldn't switch us without a hassle.

Doretta W.

Yelp
It was a short stay. The staff was nice. The room was cozy and clean. The Courtyard is convenient to multiple restaurants ... fast food and seated. Not a lot of parking. It is a busy area in Houston .. 5 miles from UofH but 24 minutes to drive.
google avatar

Yelp
Posted 2 pictures on the Driver's behavior. He parked his large Van outside Walgreens at Buffalo @ Bissonnet on the handicapped space. He got out of the vehicle and entered the store. He didn't hesitate to leave his vehicle parked where it wasn't supposed. I called him out, he didn't care, he continue his way into the store. Characteristics of the individual: Black Male, bald, about 35-40 years old. On the heavy side wearing blue shirt. Courtyard needs to talk to its employees and show more respect for the outside world. There's no need to BS customers at the door of your hotel when outside their actions speak louder than words. Shame on the driver who has no respect for people.

Yelp
Everyone here is so helpful. I attended an event here and the staff members were very nice. Hotel is clean and quick to assist with any needs

Yelp
September 9-10, 2017 Everything about the hotel was fine, including staff and property cleanliness and safety. But BEWARE when making reservations. I asked for the total price and was quoted the senior rate of $110. But when we arrived we were charged $128 because the reservationist didn't bother to include taxes. Be sure to ask if the "total" includes taxes.

Yelp
I have stayed at this Marriott location several times already. The most recent stay was this past weekend. The front desk staff are always very welcoming and friendly and eager to make my stay comfortable. The rooms have always been super clean. It's conveniently located to many restaurants and areas of interest. I highly recommend this. You will not be disappointed. This hotel is reasonably priced. Perfect stay.

S.P. M.

Yelp
The staff was pleasant and the public areas were decent. The rooms were also cleaned pretty well, but had the type of grime only fixed by new carpets and paint. The beds were the worst! I don't know how old or cheap a bed would have to be to creak like a 200 year old staircase, but they did. The noise from just sitting on the edge of them would wake anyone who's not in a coma. I changed rooms, but the second was just as bad so I cut my stay short and found a different hotel. They are scheduled for a remodel- I'd wait to stay until after that since there are much better options in the area for the same price point. Parking was free, but there are no extras with food options. Just a bistro where prices added up quickly.

Lovereen K.

Yelp
This hotel is about 10 mins away from downtown. But has some good restaurants in the neighborhood as well. Their onsite restaurant staff is very helpful and nice. I got their omelet for breakfast and they were extremely adjusting to tweak my order.

Yelp
The building where we live needed to repair a water main so we got a room here for the night. I am a Marriott rewards member. The hotel is fantastic! Our room was ready by 11:30 a.m. we stopped by to get our key after work. The young lady at the desk was so nice. The front lobby is clean and inviting. We returned later and our room was huge and beautiful! It was very clean, with a comfortable bed. In the morning, I went down to their Bistro for a Starbucks coffee. Jay was the barista greeted me with a cheery hello. He was so nice! I appreciated him being there so early and I could have a nice strong cup of delicious hot coffee. He greeted everyone so nicely. I highly recommend this hotel!

Yelp
Stayed here just one night but the staff was incredibly friendly, and our room was very clean. Would definitely stay here again in the future.

Yelp
***This Courtyard Marriott is not located in the nicest looking area, but the hotel itself is nice and the room rates are reasonable*** As a hotel, this Courtyard by Marriott is one of the better ones I've been to. Like many Courtyards, this location features their new modern lobby design--complete with the bistro, market and lounge area. At a lot of the other Courtyard locations, the refreshed design ends at the lobby, which makes the hotel feel a little disjointed. This one had nice hallways and a nice 24-hour fitness center, which gave the hotel a more unified feel. The rooms were nice too. My room was still very similar to many other Courtyards, but they did a good job of refreshing a few of the pieces within the room to make it feel new and up-to-date. Like other Courtyards, this location has many other benefits like complimentary parking and Internet, nice showers, comfortable beds, and a good A/C unit (I also liked how they left tips on how to avoid freezing their A/C, which happens at some Courtyards--especially the Los Altos Palo Alto location). Customer service (like other Courtyards) was friendly and good and I felt Ray (I think that was his name) was very good. Like a lot of my other customer experiences in Texas, he was very friendly and welcoming. Room rates are very good though it seems in general room prices in Houston are less than what you will pay in Dallas and Austin or cities outside of Texas like suburbs of San Francisco. The only negative was that it was located in an area that was not that attractive. There is a water tower nearby as well as several power lines. Courtyards are often located in suburban areas, but this one seems to be located in a more industrial area. I liked this hotel. It is very close to Downtown Houston, which might be why the area it is in does not look that nice. I felt safe though I imagine some would not. This hotel has a lot of pluses though so it might be a good option if you are staying or working in the Houston area. As mentioned, this Courtyard offers free parking. It is easy finding an open space.
google avatar

Yehoy L.

Yelp
One of the better Courtyards I've stayed at. The rooms for the most part are standard, no different from any other Courtyard. Good beds, clean sheets, free internet (cabled, not wireless), all the necessary cable channels, and good strong showers w/ plenty of hot water. What usually separates business hotels for me are the amenities of the hotel. Most Courtyards don't have a restaurant that serve anything outside of breakfast. However this one has a full fledged bar and offers a pretty good menu up to 10pm that can be ordered at the restaurant or room service. The pool is actually HUGE for a Courtyard. They have a small workout room that is pretty decent as it actually has free weights up to 60 pounds (very rare in anything that's not a resort from what I've seen). A friendly staff as always and located in a very convenient location near plenty of malls and clubs, as I guess Rice University is 2-miles away. One slight problem is parking. Like almost all Courtyards, you'll have a Residence Inn next door (why Marriott does this? options I guess), so parking can be tight. Since I stay for business, once 6pm hits, good luck finding a spot close to an entrance.
google avatar

Richard K.

Yelp
I have to agree with Yehoy. This is one of the nicer Courtyards I have stayed at as well. But I did find the wireless was included in the lobby. I am more about the wireless in the room, and pack a long CAT5 cable for working from bed. So all works. Went down the street to Goode Barbeque for dinner, and it was great too.

Yelp
This place is a fairly good hotel for what you pay for. I imagine the typical rate ranges from $99 to $149 depending on the room. The PROs: Free wifi Clean, very accomodating Great service (responds well to bringing more towels) Great location (CVS, Walgreens, Kroger right next door within walking distance) Gym & pool Rooms are pretty standard (1-2 queen beds, TV, couch, bathroom, mini fridge) The CONs: No free breakfast The water pressure is a bit weak on the 8th floor Not a huge fan of their soap (but I generally don't like hotel soaps to begin with). Overall, you just get the feel that it's a nice place to stay. I'd stay here again.

Yelp
Misleading room details: online listed as "separate bathtub and shower," but got to the room and this wasn't the car, so... Terrible customer service: called the front to see what could be done, given that we specifically booked so we could have a separate bathtub, and the woman at the front desk said they only have bath/shower combos. She was unfriendly, sarcastic, and actually made fun of us for believing what was listed online. She offered us free breakfast to compensate... but the motel already has free breakfast. Dirty: after we settled in (didn't have a choice), we noticed how bad everything smelled. Plus, random clothes were left in the bathrooms. Bottom line: with as many good hotels/motels at the same price in the area, book another place.

Yelp
A pretty good location, all things considered, but not much of a view (unless you want to see warehouses and I-59). Still, the hotel had the stuff I needed, and the staff was efficient and friendly ("Have a good workout!"). Very close to Memorial Park (jogging trail), the Galleria (upscale mall) and all the great stuff in the Westheimer/Montrose area, such as Brasil and Empire Cafe (restaurants). There's free wifi, but it's not password protected, so I'd be leery of using it much. A good spot for business travelers or budget-conscious vacationers. Not a spot for a romantic getaway by any means.

Yelp
I would almost give it a three but I stay at courtyards all the time..... this is the lowest level one I have been too. the people are nice, parking is well lite and I feel safe here.

Yelp
Big mistake. I stayed here two weeks ago and it took three room changes to find a cool room. Staying here again now and am informed rooms are preset to 71 and will not go lower. Room warms up before unit cools room back to 71. If your looking for a cool place to relax go to the Courtyard up by the bayou...

Yelp
I paid $150 for a night and feel breakfast should be included. Also why do I have to pay for daily parking if I am paying for a room? That makes no sense. The beds are very firm. I wouldn't stay here again.

Yelp
Stayed here on a business/pleasure trip for one night checked in asked for dinner recommendations got those and food was ok. They were undergoing major renovations but hotel was beautiful nonetheless. Staff was friendly and gave us a complementary breakfast buffet in the morning that was incredible. Will definitely stay here again when I'm down here

Yelp
It seems like a standard Courtyard on the surface (which isn't saying much, as the brand has been severely diluted over the years), but this one falls short of even the typical mediocre standards. A little context: My flight into IAH was delayed several hours. I called the hotel to confirm that I'd still be able to check in during the wee hours of the morning. "Sure, no problem", I was told. When I arrived, a frazzled, confused woman couldn't understand the concept of airline delays and told me that I had been designated a "no-show". After explaining my situation for a good ten minutes, I was finally allowed to check-in. After returning to the front desk twice due to malfunctioning keys, I finally got into my room and fell asleep. After two nights in the hotel, I went to the front desk to checkout with yet another confused employee who thought I was in the hotel for another night. After pulling up my reservation on the Marriott app on my phone and debunking his view, I left for the airport. Three weeks later, I still didn't receive my reward points and found that I had been charged for four nights rather than the two I actually stayed (for reasons still unbeknown to me and for which I never received an explanation or policy.). After 30 minutes on the phone with three different representatives, I finally had these issues resolved. Moral of the story: Courtyard (and other Marriott brands) have really gone downhill in terms of quality over the past several years on many fronts, but I was at least always able to count on competent staff at company locations. This hotel couldn't even deliver that, however, and has driven me towards other loyalty programs (namely Starwood) that deliver far superior facilities and expertise. The room, itself, was clean and relatively comfortable, though it was outdated in some respects and the blood red paint was unsettling.

Yelp
This hotel was great. We went off of Yelp's suggestion. Stopped in & were able to get a room w/no reservation! The lobby is very contemporary even though the rooms themselves were slightly outdated (very clean though). There's a Starbucks on site as well. The pool & hot tub looked nice but closed at 10 (kinda sucks for those of us who can control our volume). My little complaint is there was no mini fridge in the room. My HUGE complaint is that the beds are ROCK HARD! Sleeping on concrete would've been softer.

Yelp
We asked for a king bed at the time of online booking but were provided a room with 2 full beds. Selling something and providing something else is a fraudulent business practice. Karen took forever to first check us in, and then to see if they have what we asked for.

Yelp
Barely 3 stars and that's bc some of the people were great - Go Donny and Yenni . I won't stay here again. The system/hotel and Ops behind them is 2 star. No frig in room and no working ice machine in 90+ degrees outside. A/C noisy. The elevator rumbles scarily. TV only half worked and "we'll send the maintenance" and then never did. The Bistro was poorly stocked and out of several items I attempted to order and an aggressive woman employee with silver lipstick was difficult and dismissive of me. Im not motivated to come back. Btw I'm Marriott Platinum Elite which means I stay in Marriotts around the country almost every week so I've seen decent, good and great Courtyards and this one is not any of those.

Yelp
I've only stayed at two Courtyards including this one, so there's not much comparison. Regardless, in comparison, it was far superior. I loved the interactive touchscreen at the lobby, which was very modern and high-tech looking. The individual mini-TVs at the restaurant booths are a plus. The rooms were not bad either. Clean and just what one expects from a hotel of this standard. The internet is available in the rooms now as well. Most of the stuff hasn't changed from the previous reviews. It's a nice stay.

Yelp
Hotel is clean, dependable and in a good location. Close to multiple shopping areas, restaurants and coffee shops. The service, especially the service of my new guardian angel Brenda Lewis, is what prompted me to leave a review at all. She saved me from what could have been a disastrous clothing issue. I had a big event just an hour away and found my dress was a wrinkled mess. Brenda came to the rescue with an ironing board and iron and literally saved the day for me because I was unsure of how to use that particular iron and the wrinkles weren't coming out. She relieved a lot of stress and her kindness will not be forgotten. Thank you Brenda !!!!
