I recently stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott in Jacksonville Butler Blvd, and let me tell you, Faith is an absolute gem and life saver! Actually the entire staff is amazing. Every interaction with the hotel staff was friendly and memorable. From the moment I stepped in, warmth and hospitality set the tone for a fantastic stay. But Faith…. She’s the kind of person who would help you locate a unicorn if you asked! Just a beautiful soul. Not only did she provide exceptional service, but she also mixed the most magical cocktail at the bar. If you’re ever at the hotel, make sure to stop by and say hi to Faith. She deserves all the recognition for her kindness, patience, and that unbeatable smile. Thank you, Faith, for being a bright spot in my stay! You're truly awesome. -Lady on the balcony

I would’ve given this hotel 5 stars if it wasn’t for the overpriced restaurant at the lobby. A $9 parfait is crazy! A bucket of 5 beers for $30 is insane! However, rooms, service, and overall cleanliness of the hotel were great. Restaurants and fast food close by. Lady that works late at the front desk was awesome. Would definitely stay again.

Google
A great overnight at the Courtyard. The hotel has a nice lobby and pool area. All the staff were amazing. The Bistro has good options for dinner and breakfast and Starbucks coffees. Beds were comfy and AC was cold all night. Location is great with easy access to 95. Restaurants close by. All in all a great choice. Thank you Courtyard, we will be back!.

As a fellow hospitality industry member, I appreciate my check in experience with front desk agent Bobby. He was extremely enthusiastic and helpful. The property itself was in good condition. The internet was easy to connect to and of decent speed. The room was comfortable and met my needs. I definitely would stay here again!

Google
The property was very clean, rooms needed better water pressure, AC shuts off at 11pm and they can’t rest it , this is so they can save electricity but makes the room very hot, you need to bring a fan. Room also not too quiet could hear everything in the hallway. Front seat upon checking was ok then leaving at the coffee shop the gentleman was very friendly and helpful. Elevators worked great , Over all just one night fair experience.

As a Gold member when I arrived, the representative at the front desk was standing outside on her cell phone, so I had to stay a while till she decided to come in. as customary, they always offer bottles of water so when I called, she told me to come back to the room, knowing I have accessibility problems. Also, there was a cake of soap that was still open on the sink so I believe it was used and I wasn’t going back to the front desk to get it replaced. when I checked out it, it was the same agent working at the desk so I didn’t even bring it up so I figured I’d put it into the reviews. I will never go back to that hotel again..

Google
The hotel and staff was fantastic. We were complimentary upgraded to a balcony room. The drink specials at the bar were on point $10 pitcher even for an IPA. And food was good! Would stay again!

I had a great stay at the hotel, and I want to give a special shoutout to Darien at the front desk. He greeted me warmly upon arrival and made the check-in process quick and pleasant. It's not often you come across someone so genuinely friendly and welcoming—it really set a positive tone for my entire stay. The room was very clean, and I truly appreciated the attention to detail. The beds were fresh, and the pillowcases were clearly changed—something that, as a frequent traveler, I sometimes worry about at other places. It’s the little things like this that make a big difference. I’ll definitely be staying here again.

Yelp
Really friendly staff despite seeming decently busy. The rooms are nice and clean, and I love that they have flavored water in the lobby. And that they give you a little welcome bag with water bottles. The TVs are in a really nice spot for you to just watch from bed and the beds themselves are so! comfy! Which is the biggest plus for me.

Yelp
3/4/24 One night stay. Hotel is close to I-95 with a lot of restaurants around. Front desk staff were very friendly and had my reservation ready upon my arrival. The bistro bartender was super outgoing and mixed a decent Old Fashioned that I enjoyed. Two double beds with plenty of space. Work desk if you are on business. The HVAC worked great (a must in FL) and the shower water temp was very hot (another plus for me). Room 513 was clean and bed was very comfortable. Enjoyed my stay and will visit again when in Jacksonville for business.

Yelp
Worst hotel I've stayed at in a long time. Room door would not close properly. No ice in ice machine. Very noisy. Had to pay for coffee to go. Lumpy bed. not as clean as it should have been. They will not have to both with me staying here again.

Devionne H.

Yelp
Staff was phenomenal. I am from Arizona and was there for almost 6 weeks. From day 1 everyone i interacted with was welcoming, energetic and even remembered details I'd never expect anyone to remember which made myself and my other travelers with me feel special. Mike at front desk was very memorable for his over the top strong service and the coffee spot down in the lobby was on it every day and even remembered peoples drinks it was very impressive. Loved this experience and was only about 9 min away from downtown and the nightlife in Riverside.

Juany L.

Yelp
Stopped here for the night on our family road trip. Hotel is spotless, excellent service, and beautifully decorated. Loved the modern bathroom and shower! Comfortable beds and pillows. Highly recommend!

Laura M.

Yelp
I was cheerfully greeted by Sam when I arrived Sunday evening. What a gem. The entire front desk desk and management here is phenomenal! Every single one of them was great. You know how sometimes during a long hotel stay you have favorites? It was impossible here because each person was as great as the next. It was nice to have a place run by grownups. Sorry, not sorry Gen Z! The front lobby/lounge is spacious. Eating outside by the pool was great. This location is super close to my favorite organic juice place Roots and in an areas near a ton of other hotels and on a mostly empty turnabout so the road was easy to get to even during high traffic times. Parking was easy and felt safe even being alone as a woman at night trying to grab the stuff out of my car. The housekeeping mgr and the engineer Brendan were also wonderful and helpful and went the extra mile too! I'll definitely choose this place again. The elevators were easy to use and both were in use so I never had an issue getting downstairs quickly when I was trying to get to my meetings.

Jeana T.

Yelp
Nice and clean. Staff is super nice. We had 2 adults and 2 kids visiting Jacksonville for a soccer tournament. Pool was open for the kids to play. They had a breakfast available, but we didn't get breakfast. Easy to locate. Easy to get to gas stations and different shops. I would recommend.

Yelp
Our room could use a major update. Looks like it's been this way since the mid 90s. Bathroom is really in need of a good cleanup. The gym equipment is pretty sad, two threadmills neither working very well at all and one elliptical machine. It was nice to have cold filter water in there, bonus after a good workout. Staff that we engaged with were super friendly. My son had breakfast and it was very good according to him, I had a Starbucks coffee,. It was made just the way I like it. The dining area was clean as was the lounge area.

Yelp
Why 4 stars? Because I'm a fan of Courtyard! --- --- --- For years, I did not have hotel loyalty. I travel a decent amount, but I'd just use hotels.com to book whatever made sense price & location wise, regardless of brand. I recently signed up for a Marriott credit card and am now switching over to the world of staying at any hotel under the Marriott umbrella. My stay at this Courtyard was the first of what I assume will be many years of this new strategy. The verdict? It's hard to find much to complain about with this stay! The only small things I can note: this hotel isn't necessarily "out-dated" but it's not what you'd call modernized, either. I'd assume there will probably need to be a little updating in the near future. And secondly, the water pressure in the shower wasn't great. But outside of that, I really enjoyed it! I loved the fact that the room got nice and cold and that the A/C had an option to keep the fan constantly running all night. At home, I sleep with a fan for the white noise, so that's always a nice bonus. Everything about the bed was super comfortable too - the pillows, the blankets, the mattress - it all worked! While my stay here was very brief - I arrived late on a Monday and departed on a Tuesday morning, it was enjoyable and I'd stay here again.

James R.

Yelp
This is a solid courtyard. It has just been renovated so it is newer and much better than the photos show. The staff here is friendly and accommodating. It's in a decent location to get around town and the parking here is always ample. The rates are standard for the area, you can get better deals but for the same quality but the rates here are quite competitive to begin with.

Julie C.

Yelp
The nicest people and so sincere! A very clean hotel with good people working. Great area... nice bistro

Shiana B.

Yelp
Excellent clean and comfortable facility. Right off of JTB. You have Cracker Barrel right outside your door. Excellent check on without any hassle. They have a fit pit, pool, gym and tiny bar/restaurant. Great price too! Join the Marriott rewards and earn some points for a free night too!!!!

Vlasta D.

Yelp
The staff is always welcoming and providing a great customer service. Clean rooms, convention location and superior service. Thank you to manager Mr. Mike and Ms. Brandi at front desk for going out of their way to ensure satisfaction of their guests. Will stay here again and highly recommend. Thank you!!

Amanda M.

Yelp
Here for a business trip and this hotel is the overall better option of the four properties that surround it. The lobby is beautiful and clean and the staff is very friendly. Morning breakfast lines are long even on weekdays so you have to plan accordingly if you would like to grab a bite here. Food is good, all dinner items are prepared in a microwave/convection oven but still cost 10-13$. The room was nice, could use an update as it was very dark, no light above the shower so it was darker in the shower. My bed was comfortable and I slept well. I would stay here again overall. Thankful for the staffs kindness and courtesy.

K N.

Yelp
I like this place, the rooms are ok, and clean. But mostly loveee the employees they are so nice. Especially the front desk ladies! Props to them for always treating people so nice. And I got upgraded to suite. Thank you guys.

Joseph T.

Yelp
Greeted with great service. Very clean and modern. There is also a gym, pool, and spa. You can also grab a meal, snacks, cocktails, and starbucks in the lobby.

Erica W.

Yelp
Note: I didn't actually stay here - I was just here attending a session for a Summit conference. With that being said though / if I did have a reason I needed to stay locally in a hotel I'd definitely stay here. During our summit the attendants and servers were all super attentive. The conference room we booked was smaller than we had planned for but in true agile fashion the staff made it work seamlessly. Our lunch was yummy complete with a super delicious fudgy brownie!! Yum!! Thanks for a wonderful summit and for your partnership with Acosta!

Alison B.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel, clean, friendly staff, lots of extras including an amazing little bar/bistro. Mark, the bartender is terrific, so personable and funny and boy can he cook!! We had a flatbread and the veggie pasta with chicken added. Both were homemade and delicious. Beautiful, perfectly cooked veggies, including broccolini. The chicken was moist and very tasty. If I lived nearby I would come here for lunch or dinner

Jazlyn G.

Yelp
When we entered the hotel, we were greeted with a warm welcome. Our room was clean and smelled fresh. I would definitely stay here I was given the chance again

Henderson W.

Yelp
OUTSTANDING...staff, customer service...room was nicely furnished, clean and smelled fresh. I arrived on Christmas afternoon - upon my arrival I was greeted by Annie (front desk associate) and Lindsay (front desk supervisor) both ladies were friendly, efficient, and very helpful. Checkin was very fast and was provided with the layout of the hotel...gym, business center, etc. The lobby area appears to be newly renovated...guessing within the last year or so...everything is very clean and well designed. There is a Bistro and Starbucks in the lobby. There are quite a few TV's in the lobby and breakfast area, always displaying the weather and traffic conditions nearby. There is a pool behind the hotel, nicely fenced and very well kept. My room was located on the 5th floor on the West side...very nice layout...the bed was very comfortable, it was not too hard and not too soft. The design of the room is perfect as well which reduced the noise heard from the hallway. The room was nicely furnished, clean and smelled fresh. It came with a one cup coffee maker, but no microwave. The bathroom was also clean and very nice. The free wireless Internet access worked fine. I was impressed by how little noise I heard from other rooms. As for food there is a Cracker Barrel shares the parking lot space so you can walk to Cracker Barrel, Applebee's, or The Waffle House. . I would recommend staying here if you want a nice clean convenient hotel. As a business traveler I get the opportunity to stay in various hotels. I have to say this has to be one of the best I've stayed at in awhile. The thing I liked most about this hotel is the convenience factor of the location...right off I95 and JTB so easy on and off the highway. If you are traveling with family or needed snacks that are not in the Market store in the hotel...there is a Publix store for groceries a few blocks away from the hotel (not walking distance) Overall I had a wonderful experience at this hotel.

Yelp
This is an awesome Marriott on the Southside if Jacksonville. They have free WiFi and my room had a smart TV. So I had the choice of watching Netflix, Hulu, and other smart apps. You are only 5 minutes away from the St Johns Town Center and about 25 minutes away from the beach. This is a nice little in town getaway!!!!

Tim M.

Yelp
Every thing was just terrible!!! Dirty, lumpy king size bed and going outside even the trash cans were over flowing onto the sidewalk??? This is a Marriott???

Mike M.

Yelp
Spent 2 nights here while traveling for business. The lobby was clean and bright and the staff were all attentive, eager to help and friendly. Overall the hotel would be excellent if the price was reasonable but we spent $189 per night and this is not an almost $200 per night hotel. The room was clean but dated. The beds were comfortable but all the pillows were very soft- so much so that I went to Bed, Bath and Beyond after the first night and purchased a better pillow. The TV was small and on a very low table- making it hard to watch from the bed. It was a SmartTV and had Netflix and other nice features. There was only one open outlet around the bedside table so only one phone could be charged by the bedside- and that outlet was only available because we unplugged the clock. The bathroom left a lot to be desired. The sink had minimal counter space and the water pressure in the shower was marginal at best. Interestingly the shower head was way off center which made you stand at an odd angle to shower. The towels were clean and acceptable. There were a few mildew and rust spots but nothing that ruined the experience. On a comical note, there was a switch on the wall over the desk that was marked "Engineering Use Only". We really wanted to turn it off to see what would happen but refrained. Breakfast was slightly better than standard hotel fair. The French Toast was excellent, but the eggs and sausage patties were not very tasty. Overall, the hotel was acceptable and clean, but should offer more for the price or the price should be more in line with comparable mid-range hotels.

Tiffany W.

Yelp
This hotel is above average from what I can see of other hotels in the area. Every room has a balcony and the bed is against an interior wall so you don't get the noise from neighbors when you're trying to sleep. All of the staff is so friendly and welcoming - front desk, housekeeping, bistro staff. A couple of major things that keep me from 5 stars: it's not close to the beach if that's what you're here for, there is no light in the shower so getting ready is a little dark, and the girl at the bistro did not change her gloves as often as I would have liked to see (going from making food, grabbing table numbers, grabbing the storage door, back to making food). Other than that it was a pleasant stay.

Yelp
My husband and I were both on the line when we made reservations with Jessica. Our first question was, "what is your cancellation policy during a hurricane situation?" She immediately responded that Marriott lifts its cancellation policy during hurricanes. We proceeded with our reservation and at the end of our conversation my husband once again asked her to confirm that we could cancel our reservation without penalty at any time and she agreed. When I cancelled our reservation, Jessica was the agent I spoke with. She told us that the hotel did have a cancellation policy and even though they could secure someone for the night, she would be charging us. I reminded her that she told us at the time of our reservation that cancellation fees during hurricanes were lifted. I found out that The Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association, a nonprofit hospitality trade association issued a statement encouraging hotel owners to waive cancellation fees during Hurricane Dorian. I then called the corporate office at Marriott and the representative said that the cancellation fee would be waived due to the storm. No questions asked. If you encounter this situation, I recommend you immediately call Marriott Customer Care and ask to speak with a corporate representative

Mark B.

Yelp
No room service????? 3.5 star rating. Did I wakeup in a different country? I must say everything including the $2.50 small bottle of water was good but you loose points for no room service, come on man. ...

David R.

Yelp
This is apparently the new design of Courtyards, and it's fantastic. Modern and stylish. Nice lobby and reception area. Bar and Starbucks. Free super-fast wifi. Stayed at JW Marriot flagship in Chicago last week (which was terrific) and I was snobbishly disappointed to see "Courtyard" on this week's itinerary. But I must say this place has completely exceeded all expectations (I've only been here 20 minutes so there may be some surprises, good or bad, to come...) I plan to promptly join Marriot's loyalty program.

Dana R.

Yelp
I love the hotel staff and they are very accommodating. Daniel at the front desk is one of the nicest concierges I've ever worked with. The rooms are nice and spacious. The cleaning staff is very efficient. I've always had great stays here. Sometimes the wi-fi is a little slow, but at least it's included with the price of your room.

Jessica M.

Yelp
I cannot say enough about the staff at this hotel! Top notch customer service! They really make you feel like you are a GUEST, and not just a customer. Always clean, always friendly - the perfect stay, if you are in Jacksonville! There are plenty of hotels in this area and this is a little hidden gem! Kudos to this hotel!

Beth E.

Yelp
I stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks in a row (minus the weekend). The front desk staff was very friendly and very helpful with whatever I needed. Housekeeping however, was not that great. I was usually up and out very early every morning, but on 2 occasions, I had late morning appointments so I was able to get up post-dawn, where unfortunately, my slumber was disturbed by the housekeeping staff being pretty loud in the hallway. Also, they were not always good about taking the garbage and the beds looked like Goldilocks may have slept in them while I was gone! The room was pretty standard (I requested to stay in the same room for both weeks). I forgot to request a refrigerator, but they had already placed it in my room when I arrived (yeah, front desk staff!). The TV is a good size, and the bathroom is a pretty good size as well. This is the first Courtyard which I have encountered in a long time, which does not offer (complimentary) continental breakfast. I am not a big breakfast connoisseur, but the occasional bagel, yogurt, hot chocolate would be nice. They do offer however, offer a breakfast buffet and other selections, starting at $7.95. I did not have breakfast, so I cannot comment on this. The lobby is nice. There is a computer/printer available. I did some work on my laptop out by the pool one night, it looked nice, nothing extravagant, but still nice. They also offer a small bar of liquor, which can be billed to your room (again, did not partake, but noticed each night in the lobby). Complimentary copies of the USA Today and the Wall St. Journal were also available on the table, once off the elevator. They also have snacks and a cooler of soda/water available (to purchase) in the lobby. The pros for this location, is that 95 N/S are right up the street, St. Johns Town Center is only 15 minutes away, and the Jacksonville Beach is about 20-25 minutes away. There are many stores/restaurants in the area, so it is very business-traveler friendly...if only they could fix the housekeeping issue, and they may earn a 4th star next time around..

Hannah C.

Yelp
We can't say enough about the wonderful staff here. Hurricane Matthew came through while we were here and the staff stayed for days making sure we were all taken care of and kept the bistro open. Thank you

Esha S.

Yelp
This was the best hotel we stayed in our 11 day road trip. We almost switched hotels everyday. The rooms were very clean, staff was very welcoming and helpful. The hotel had a decent gym and the breakfast was very hearty. They provide vouchers for in house bistro which had a decent selection for make to order items. This was a decent change for us from all the continental breakfast buffet that we had where a lot of items served seem frozen. I wish Marriott did this for all their hotels.

Mister S.

Yelp
From California. Stayed for a week for USATF Junior Olympics. Staff was awesome considering we had our entire track club here! Pacific Coast Shockwaves! Over 85 kids and family! They handled it perfectly! Always polite, and courteous even with all those kids running around. Hats off to the staff! Thanks for making our stay awesome!

Jennifer M.

Yelp
The staff at the hotel have been great to work with. We have stayed here at least 10 times since November. Each time the staff was accommodating and the facility very clean. Love that this is on the beach.

Mark T.

Yelp
This was a pretty nice Courtyard. The lobby area has been updated to the modern look and feel; however, the rooms still have the older 90s look to them.

Jen D.

Yelp
Late Christmas Eve arrival, had a wonderful greeting front desk attendant. He was friendly and courteous. Will definitely stay here again.

Cameron G.

Yelp
I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with the less than satisfactory customer service that I just received less than five mins ago via phone by "manager" Zack. I called to obtain an earlier check in, when I was rudely and unjustifiably told that's not something he can guarantee and he went on to mention what platinum members would get and their seniority. He has horrible customer service skills and sounds really inexperienced in the job that he is performing. I wouldn't recommend anyone to this location and I stay normally at 4 to 5 star hotels, but settled on this due to the short notice of my business trip. Zack was very disrespectful in my opinion often talking over me and stammering idiotically throughout the entire conversation. You would think that a hotel would such mixed reviews, and according to the reviews a place that is in need of repair and mold removal would go above and beyond for the customers, this unfortunately was NOT THE CASE! Zach further informed me that the hotel was NOT sold out, yet made no effort to accommodate me even after I expressed to him that I have a disability. This is extremely disturbing to be treated this way and I wonder how many other people have been DISRESPECTED LIKE THIS by him. He informed me that the manger is named beryl whom I fully expect to discuss my disgust with Zack lack of customer Service etiquette.

Yelp
Well i realize this first reason is not fully the fault of the hotel, but my experience at the hotel was rather 1-2star, and this is why. When I arrived at the hotel, it appeared there was a convention of tween cheerleaders. My only problem is that they were running up and down the halls, banging on doors and screaming pretty late into the night. I had worked a 14 hour day, and going to a business traveller hotel, that did not fit my expectations. 2nd reason: the internet did not work. the employees kept asking me if i had wireless, yes, i said, and i pulled the card out of my computer. after an hour i gave up and went to bed to clear the mind. in the morning- it was still not working, and the employees made me feel as if it were my fault. they gave me a new room, still both my PC and my Mac were not able to connect to the internet, not in my original room, not in my second room. After over 3 hours of working on getting it to work, i asked if i could just check out and go to a different hotel. i cannot afford to not be productive in the few hours i have in the hotels. so i left. when i left, i believe they still thought it was my fault the internet was not working on my computers. when i checked into the Marriott Sawgrass resort later this evening, my PC worked just fine as i plugged it into the ethernet- so i don't think it was my computers, i think it was the hotel. anyhow- a very unsatisfactory and very uncharacteristic Marriott night's stay! ( I am a Gold Elite member of Marriott, and have been in a few Marriott hotels to say the least, with no problems connecting to the internet whatsoever- across brands)
